Breaking; UnitedHealth CEO Assassinated in NYC
by Anonymous | reply 602 | December 5, 2024 6:04 PM |
Was the shooter in-network?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | December 4, 2024 1:37 PM |
Probably the aggrieved close relative of an insured patient who died from being denied approval for a medical procedure.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 4, 2024 1:39 PM |
I can’t imagine who would want to harm a representative of America’s beautiful Health Insurance industry.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | December 4, 2024 1:41 PM |
A lot of disappointed CyberTruck owners out there.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 4, 2024 1:42 PM |
Not gonna lie - but you fuck around with people and their health and families for so long, somebody's going to fight back.
I hope it's a revenge killing.
More CEOs need to be FAFO'd - and Wall Street types. I don't have an drop of sympathy for this guy.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 4, 2024 1:45 PM |
And nothing of value was lost.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 4, 2024 1:49 PM |
Oh well.

United Healthcare will probably deny the claim for his emergency room resuscitation attempts. Not medically necessary.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 4, 2024 1:53 PM |
Oh ok r8, if the right person did it, it was fine
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 4, 2024 1:54 PM |
OP, are you in a phone booth?

Progressive start hunting the rich as predicted on the DL.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 4, 2024 1:55 PM |
Where ARE my knitting needles.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 4, 2024 1:55 PM |
r10, it matters if it's a professional hit where there might be a much bigger story to uncover or just an angry person getting revenge for an affair or denial of coverage. That's really all I meant.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 4, 2024 1:59 PM |
The "woke" DLers are insane, especially R5.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 4, 2024 1:59 PM |
Disgruntled employee is what I’m going with.

New York is a shit hole.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 4, 2024 2:02 PM |
It could be totally random too, Marys.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 4, 2024 2:03 PM |
It’s possible it was rivalry within corporate leadership. Or maybe something international, like the corporation crossed the wrong cartel or junta.
Basically a million suspects.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 4, 2024 2:04 PM |
The DLers who think Trump is Hitler and will put gays in concentration camps are almost clinically insane.
This was a targeted hit. Getting shot in NYC by a stranger for no reason is a very rare event.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 4, 2024 2:05 PM |
Yeah r15, he’s insane.
You just voted for a rapist insurrectionist. But r5? He’s NUTS!

R5 isn’t being “woke.” A MAGA could just as easily talk that way.

The Republicans will express more concern about this than they do about school shootings.

Pre-authorized kill, payment approved.

R27 agree- This is a hit-

Well, it wasn't us.
This time.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | December 4, 2024 2:22 PM |
Let me see if I follow this thread...only a "woke" progressive could want a health insurance CEO dead? But the non-woke constantly threaten Anthony Fauci, Jack Smith, law enforcers, judges and politicians and anyone else who doesn't worship King Dump's porcelain throne, and that's ok?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | December 4, 2024 2:22 PM |
"His claim was denied!"
by Anonymous | reply 31 | December 4, 2024 2:22 PM |
R15, the anti-woke conservatives are more insane. Are you still mad that Matt Gaetz won't be AG? 🤣 😂
by Anonymous | reply 32 | December 4, 2024 2:23 PM |
Thank God my president Trump will be in office soon and the rest of the precious CEOs of the United States will all be safe!

There’s traffic cam footage too and he was on a bike.

Looks like he's just one of their CEO's - the head CEO is Andrew Witty.
And yes they all make 8 figures.
This will be an interesting story to see who did it. It wasn't random.
How much you want to bet the meeting still went forward?

It's not going to be as satisfying as the dad of a cancer girl getting revenge for a denied procedure.
It'll be an embittered wife or a gambling debt.

[quote]On the second floor of the hotel, the company's annual investor conference continued seemingly without interruption as news of the shooting was just beginning to spread. Attendees mingled over cups of coffee, shaking hands and talking shop. “Someone got shot outside,” one attendee said to another as they made their way up from the lobby. Others took photos of the news crews gathering outside on their phones.

R43 You're probably right.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | December 4, 2024 2:44 PM |
Targetted
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 4, 2024 2:45 PM |
Or a recently fired employee
by Anonymous | reply 48 | December 4, 2024 2:45 PM |
It’s intriguing to think about this as a possible “kill the rich, they’re killing us” protest assassination. But statistically it is far more likely to be a very personal targeted hit . Either somebody who is personally feeling vindictive or vengeful enough to order a hit, or somebody who stands to gain a lot materially or career wise from this man’s death.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | December 4, 2024 2:46 PM |
It was no secret where he would be and what time. I'm surprised more CEOs don't travel with body guards. I used to work for a consulting company that had armed guards for anyone traveling to Latin America on company business.

by Anonymous | reply 53 | December 4, 2024 2:51 PM |
R50 - a lot of incidents of kidnapping businessmen in Latin America, so that makes sense. Not so much here.
R52 - it was a public meeting, they didn't need that much info.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | December 4, 2024 2:52 PM |
Gambling debt? Cocaine? This was a professional hit. I'd look at his wife.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | December 4, 2024 2:55 PM |
But that hotel has lots and lots of exits and entrances....how did he know which one he was gonna use?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | December 4, 2024 2:56 PM |
The suspect was described as a white male wearing a cream-colored jacket, black face mask, and black and white sneakers. Officials said he was carrying a gray backpack.
Witnesses told The Post the suspect had been spotted near the vicinity of the hotel, on 6th Avenue, milling around.

The CEO basically was a CPA that moved up through the ranks. Doesn't know anything about healthcare except the numbers - which is par.
You have to wonder what this guy with just a BA accounting degree from Univ of Iowa was able to do to climb the ladder to the top. Any programs he cut corners on to increase profits?
Healthcare executives are, by nature, evil. You can't convince me otherwise.

I have to work B2B with UHC and they are the worst for many reasons. One is that they employ algorithms that automatically deny a large swath of their health base. Claimants will eventually get paid if they protest but many don't, ergo UHC keeps more $$$. I wouldn't be shocked if a disgruntled insured got angry enough to retaliate.
by Anonymous | reply 92 | December 4, 2024 3:28 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 97 | December 4, 2024 3:35 PM |
UHC also cost the industry billions of dollars this year when their Health Choice (HC) unit was breached and info held hostage. UHC eventually paid off the hackers, but not before a tremendous amount of damage was done to the industry. Several other insurers and administrators depend on HC and the breach really screwed with profits. Larger companies could absorb the damage, but smaller outfits - some of whom are mom-and-pop setups - really took a hit. All that to say, the company has its enemies.

by Anonymous | reply 101 | December 4, 2024 3:36 PM |
Welcome to Trump's America, now without a functioning system of justice. And the irony is that we have Joe Biden and Merrick Garland to blame because they sat on their hands for two and a half years before finally, under pressure, moved to bring Shitler to justice... but it was too late. Under the weight of bringing a former president to account for his crimes, the system collapsed.
As they say, if you're going to kill the king, make sure you kill the king.
That said, this guy's execution is what happens when people lose faith in the failed system and ultimately take matters into their own hands. I'll only be surprised if it isn't an insured or relative of an insured who pulled the trigger.

This was not a professional hit. No pro wood pick a public venue with hundreds of people. Those circumstances are taken care of in a very closed environment with few spectators if any. This was either disgruntled employee or a policyholder who was denied coverage for themselves or a family member resulting in a catastrophic outcome.

In a nation with more guns than people (and I'm not even going to bother looking up the current factor; it must be about 1.5 or 1.7 guns per citizen by now), it is hardly surprising that a gun nut would have and now how to use a silencer.
Remember, under this SCOTUS, there is no gun, bump stock, silencer or any other enhancement that is illegal for any citizen to own.
by Anonymous | reply 121 | December 4, 2024 3:57 PM |
This is a murder, not really an "assassination," which by definition, is the killing of government leaders and other prominent persons for political purposes—such as to seize power, to start a revolution, to draw attention to a cause, to exact revenge, or to undermine a regime or its critics.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | December 4, 2024 3:58 PM |
Case for the hitman: as someone noted above, he got off two kill shots from a distance; very early morning before sunrise meant streets and sidewalk weren't crowded yet but not completely deserted, allowing him to get away. Basically dressed like a bike messenger. Probably had a change of clothes in the backpack, along with his passport and I agree, he's most likely on a flight out of the country now.

From the DM so didn't link:
UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was accused of insider trading and fraud by the Department of Justice before he was assassinated on Wednesday in Manhattan.
Thompson, 50, was shot dead in what NYPD officials believe was a targeted attack as he exited the Hilton hotel before an investor conference. His killer remains on the loose.
Last year the DoJ launched a probe into whether the nation's biggest insurer, led by Thompson, was unfairly restricting competitors and running a monopoly. The DoJ then filed a lawsuit in October naming Thompson and other executives, accusing the CEO of failing to tell investors about the federal probe before he unloaded over 31 percent of his stock, taking in $15.1 million in proceeds.
In legal documents, investigators said that Thompson and other company execs sold over $117 million worth of UnitedHealth common stock during the four-month period when insiders knew about the federal antitrust investigation but the public did not.
The Wall Street Journal reported in February that federal investigators had been interviewing healthcare industry representatives in sectors where UnitedHealth competes, including doctor groups.
Investigators have asked about issues including certain relationships between the company's UnitedHealthcare insurance unit and its Optum health services arm, which owns physician groups, among other assets.

One such protest earlier this year led to the arrests of 11 people outside the United Healthcare headquarters in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

You can’t have health care without any restraints on what tests, medications and procedures doctors, hospitals and pharmaceuticals can order up. Either the government has to monitor this or the insurance companies.

NYT sidebar about the Hilton:
[quote]But at the hotel, by necessity, life paused, then went on. A hotel is meant to be calm — this one in particular perhaps, serving if not as an oasis, then a carpeted pocket of quiet against the volume of Midtown, with its coffee carts and taxi cabs, its sidewalks jammed with tourists and men and women walking, head down, in suits. The hotel staff, in its heavily trafficked lobby, projects an aura of having seen it all, and having looked away.

"Most of the 1% would never do the things they do if they thought there was a realistic chance they could get even punched in the face for it, let alone shot."
"If they keep bleeding us dry, there will be a new resurgence of organized crime, similar to the foundations of the Italian Mafia in the late 1800s and early 1900s where the divide in wealth was so great you left people no choice but to resort to violence."
"If the 1% get bodyguards, bulletproof vests, etc. The violence will go against softer targets. Not against the well-protected CEO, but an office manager."[/quote]
Paraphrased -- Evidently, this man was attending some sort of elite healthcare conference. He was shot outside the Hilton around 6 PM. The conference continued for 3 hours before news of his death was announced. They think they are unique, but are so interchangeable.
Does anyone know the name of the conference? Should the word assassinated be used? Will simply plugged do? Who should be next to worry?

There is something particularly creepy about this, perhaps amplified by a number of disgusting posts on this thread. Not a chance in hell some random who has a grudge won't be captured. All methods will be used, including illegal ones, to track that person down. R382, the weapon the killer used may have fired something called subsonic ammunition. Yes, it's special ammunition that doesn't make a loud cracking noise when fired. Apparently it can cause cycling issues, which is what we may be seeing in the video.

by Anonymous | reply 386 | December 5, 2024 12:45 AM |
Maybe whistleblowers do not need to be killed, just frightened. It may be too late to contain a situation by the whistleblower stage.
Boeing is considered by many to be a criminal organization now; the CEO who bribed the Trump administration to relax safety rules is still on the Board AND received a golden parachute. He's living on borrowed time; he may have everyone frightened but a challenger will emerge with massive support. Even Musk may be helped to take over Boeing. That CEO needs a hardcore exit strategy.
(Not to mention Boeing has stranded two astronauts in space.)
A better outcome is to frighten the pool of whistleblowers before anything happens. In this case, the UnitedHealth CEO may have been killed to scare the others testifying. Even if he was willing to play ball, something we are unaware of made him the victim. Could be as simple as he chose to walk to the Hilton rather than stay at the Hilton. A factor completely unrelated to the investigation, but not the attack.
Twice I have suspected this. One was the almost murder of Scalise during Trump I. I think that was to keep the Rs in line. Second, Rand Paul's physical attack over a lawn mowing incident. The attack was very serious. Much more than the headlines implied. Since then, the Rs have been in lockstep behind Trump.
This theory is very conspiracy-minded, but conspiracies DO exist.

DNA takes weeks to process, and even then it only helps if the suspects dna is on file. Fingerprints also work only if on file.
If my suspicion is right, and he was brought in from outside the USA, that information is useless.
All semi-auto pistols jam/misfire sometimes. A pro knows how to unjam pretty quickly. He may have had a revolver as a backup if it hard jammed before his target was killed.

R390, first of all, we live in a national world still. National borders are a powerful deterrent to law enforcement. It makes sense to bring someone in to commit the crime from another country. Don’t shit where you eat.

It would have to be someone who knew his schedule (or a hitman hired by someone who did)....that narrows down the suspect pool considerably

The biggest question mark is why was he killed in the middle of NYC. He could have been tracked down in any number of other places, but no, he was killed in a way that guaranteed maximum headlines. Perhaps that is what the killer wanted. Or maybe he had a time deadline that he had to meet.

The Twitter shot atr R414 saying the gunman was an amateur is incorrect. From CNN:
It’s notable that the suspect fired another two rounds after the initial shot in the back, in an effort “to ensure” that he was killed, McCabe said.
“That alone shows you a level of training — or determination, if anything — to complete this murder,” he said.
When the suspect’s gun appeared to malfunction, he was able to clear the jam and continue shooting, police said.
McCabe said that is a skill that is often taught to people who require extensive amounts of firearms training.
“You learn that in a police academy. I learned it in the FBI Academy. You learn it in the military. There are certain drills that you know instinctively to do as soon as your gun jams,” McCabe said. “The fact that he was able to clear the gun quickly tells you, at least, that he’s someone who is very familiar with firearms.”

New to me information:
_______________________________________________
Images of a suspect released by the New York police department (NYPD) on Wednesday showed him wearing a dark jacket with the hood up, a dark mask pulled up over his nose, dark trousers and a grey backpack.
The latest image released by police reportedly shows the suspect at a Starbucks coffee shop minutes before the shooting.
The gunman arrived at the location on foot about five minutes before Thompson’s arrival, police said. From surveillance video, police said Thompson was seen at 6.44am ET walking alone towards the Hilton.
Officials said he approached Thompson from behind and shot him in the back before moving toward the victim and continuing to shoot. Ultimately, Thompson was shot in the back and at least once in the calf.
Authorities said the gun appeared to malfunction, and the gunman cleared the jam before firing again and fleeing northbound into an alleyway between 54th Street and 55th Street. The shooter then continued to walk westbound on the Avenue of the Americas, where he got on to an electric Citi Bike and rode northbound towards Central Park.
Police noted that they were working to gather information about the ebike, specifically its GPS tracker.
Video footage of the shooting showed that the suspect was “proficient in firearms” and able to clear a jam in his gun in the midst of the attack, police said.
Police were not able to determine whether a silencer had been used from the glimpse of video that they currently have access to.
Police say they recovered three live 9mm rounds and three discharged 9mm shell casings.
Officers recovered a cellphone near the scene of the shooting and are conducting forensic analysis to see whether it is connected to the victim or the suspect.
Details from Daily Mail

The outcome of this is going to be different fat cats running United Healthcare and their subscribers paying more for less coverage. The guys under investigation will pay minimal fines and get to leave with their golden parachutes. Obviously the shooter knew how it would end up going.

by Anonymous | reply 463 | December 5, 2024 1:13 PM |
R462, it's not about an unhealthy society. The healthcare industry, with its emphasis on enriching CEOs and execs at the expense of the health and lives of the people they purport to represent, is what's sick. This is a for-profit industry that makes obscene returns for the very few at the expense of millions who are held hostage by the behavior of those who run these companies. That's why people shrug or even cheer on this kind of murder. It's understandable, and until Congress reins in the practices of health insurance companies and big Pharma, people will continue to not care about deaths like these because the people are victims every day of this kind of corruption.

Some guy who studies hitmen said it's unlikely the killer is a professional but not impossible. There are degrees of competence among hired killers. This guy made mistakes. His weapon jammed, and even though he recovered, a highly skilled hitman would never be in that position. The weapon is perfect. The choice of location is odd for several reasons, the most obvious is all the security cameras in midtown Manhattan as well as people, even though it's early morning. The other unusual thing for a pro is hitting the target when he is not following his usual routine. This could mean the killer had inside info or the timing was such that it had to be done soon.

“There had been some threats,” she said. “Basically, I don’t know, a lack of coverage? I don’t know details. I just know that he said there were some people that had been threatening him.”
Former FBI supervisor Rob D’Amico told the outlet that it wouldn’t be difficult for a person with a grudge to track down Thompson’s movements to the Hilton, where he was set to speak on Wednesday.

“What we know so far is that he was very calm, he clearly knew the route…it doesn’t mean it wasn’t a murder for hire. Those things do happen. The idea that this is a ‘professional shooter’ I am skeptical of,” Mauro said.
Mauro said what makes this case even more interesting is the type of gun that was used.

Now he looks like he’s got either a very long barrel or a silencer. Silencers are de facto illegal, and they’re very, very hard to come by. So a lot of them are homemade. That said, it could just be a long barrel gun,” Mauro described.
“The gun appears to need to be racked after each shot. Unusual.”
He added that there are guns like that, and they’re designed to suppress the sound, but that there are also add-on features that can be added to keep the slide of a semiautomatic gun from wrecking.
by Anonymous | reply 511 | December 5, 2024 3:22 PM |
“That means that after you shoot, you’re going to have to rack the slide of the gun in order to shoot again. He does that in the video, which argues that he may have added, and he may have modified the gun because these are sort of after market things that you can add to the gun,” Mauro said.
“So what I would say is, is somebody with a familiarity with guns and, particularly, this gun looks to be a rare type of gun. And that’s a data point that the police can chase down.”
Multiple law enforcement contacts told Fox News that they believed the weapon used in the murder resembled a “Welrod”, a bolt action, suppressed pistol first used in WW2.

A ridiculous statement. There’s no way to make a semi-auto pistol “perfect” from jams. I’ve fired everything from my father’s M1911 “GI 45” to the most modern SIG Sauer and Glocks, and one thing all slide pistols have in common is misfires. It’s just a function of the action.
Yet semi-auto is still the weapon of choice because of speed of fire and capacity. A revolver is a useful backup. Who’s to say whether he had one or not?
by Anonymous | reply 516 | December 5, 2024 3:30 PM |
A lot of the clues can be interpreted either way. Location and time could be a sign it wasn't a professional, sure, but it could also be because a message was wanting to be sent to others so public was better or the hit had to happen soon so anytime was better than none.

Full disclosure, I haven't followed the news since the election, so I'm not up to speed on all of the details, but...
Welcome to Trump's America, 2.0. Now, let me elaborate before telling me I'm full of shit. We just completed a cycle in which Trump promised to radically change our culture and society, starting with hiring Elmo to destroy the administrative state — what they love to call the "deep state" to rile up their low-information voters — which was put in place to protect the people from out-of-control corporations and executives who think, like Elmo, that it's perfectly acceptable to kill people in defense of profits. Elmo has explicitly said that, for instance, it's just fine that a few people, including our vaunted first responders, have been killed due to flaws in his autonomous cars' software. We have to have real world product testing, amiright?
In the 1970s, fewer than 40 Ford Pintos blew up in rear-end collisions, and Ford was forced to recall and fix the problems, but not before destroying the Pinto as a name and Ford corporate paying a price. Fast forward 40 years, and more than 300 Teslas have blown up, had serious software issues resulting in deaths, and are known to have problems that are easily solvable but which would cost Tesla a lot to fix... and not a peep. Elmo won; no regulation of auto manufacturers allows flaws and defects to go unresolved to protect corporate profits. Elmo literally puts profits before life. And Americans went to the polling stations to acknowledge that their lives are worth less than a few dollars in corporate profits.
Elections have consequences. We are about to see our government destroyed with Elmo's promise to eliminate 90% of regulation. We'll have corporate polluters dumping millions of barrels of toxic waste into our water supply and air, and no EPA to rein them in. You'll see big banks steal the lifetime savings of old folks, and no CFPB to put a stop to it. Meat packing plants will no longer have to deal with the FDA shutting them down when their facilities are contaminated with easily preventable but costly to mitigate infections resulting in thousands of deaths due to listeria, e-coli, what have you. They don't want even a National Weather Service to provide early warnings of coming storms. The ACA put in place a ton of regulations; why do you think the GOP has tried to repeal it from the moment it was passed?
The message is clear: you are on your own. Republicans have been saying for the last 50 years that they don't want to do [italic]anything[/italic] to help you or make your life even the tiniest bit better [bold]unless you are rich[/bold]. Just look at the resources NYC and the Feds are putting behind finding this CEO's killer. Somehow, were he a homeless brown-skinned dude, NYC's finest wouldn't even slow their cruiser down to see what's going on, let alone spend the $millions (already) chasing down a guy on a bike. They've revealed that the state has the resources and capability of finding almost anyone, and yet how many murders, assaults and assorted crimes (against the poor) in Manhattan go unsolved every year?
So the fact that an insurance CEO was held to account for his wanton greed is our new normal. You can pay thousands of dollars a month for health insurance, but in your time of need, if a procedure is deemed too costly and will cut into corporate profits, you're denied. We can have an administrative state that will attempt to level the playing field, or we can have anarchy wherein someone is so disgruntled and angry that a CEO's greed cost their spouse's life that they take matters into their own hands.
We've made our choice. It's not too late, but I hold zero hope that the country will see this for what it is — a clear warning of things to come — and reverse course. Clearly, one CEO assassination isn't going to do it.
Buckle up.

R538 - I want to clarify - that's just in 2023. $2.2 million in salary and over $8 million in stock.
Now - he's been a high-level exec for awhile and given previous huge amounts of stock in previous years that are now worth tens or hundreds of millions.
Their stock price 5 years ago - around $290 per share. Now? It's over $600 per share.
How do they keep creating and giving away millions of stock to tens or more execs every year?
United Health Care introduced an AI model for coverage that had a 90% ERROR RATE - and they KNEW IT. UHC has the HIGHEST number of complaints of any insurer. And they laid people off this year DESPITE record profits.
They are literally killing people for profit - we need more of this. But now they're all going to insist on having security detail. Hope they start to wonder why and their life becomes very uncomfortable.

The killer was focused and clear on his objective. He hobbled the vic by shooting him in the leg and then went in for the kill. Then walked towards the street calmly, then ran across the street and disappeared
He ignored the bystander, thankfully
by Anonymous | reply 547 | December 5, 2024 4:30 PM |
They've had security details, received extreme threats, and known they were hated for years. None of this is new.
But you will see a difference in how this plays out depending on the motive of the culprit. This guy will have to be made an example of if he's what some on the Internet wish him to be. But if he's a professional hitman working for the wife or someone trying to silence him to testify, that's another story.

Breaking:Brian Thompson's home target of bomb threat (DM and TMZ)
Murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson's Minnesota home was targeted by a bomb threat following his slaying.
TMZ revealed that Thompson's $1.1 million mansion - a mile away from his wife's $1.5 million mansion following their separation - was subjected to the bomb threat 12 hours after he was shot.
The bomb threat was directed to the City Attorney from Maple Grove, MN in an email, claiming there was a pipe bomb at Thompson's home.
A bomb squad was dispatched but found no bomb, and the squad also cleared Thompson's wife Pauley's nearby home.
Security at Pauley's home added that around 15 minutes before cops arrived to check her property, a woman in a Jeep Renegade put something in her mailbox.
The item 'appeared to be an enveloipe the size of a cell phone', but a K-9 united cleared the mailbox of possible explosives.

This was the most theatre absurd assassination - the CEO is a faceless guy who silently kills people with their three policies.
He killed this guy with a mask on and a silencer with 3 bullets of their policies.
It's actually a very meaningful and direct message - it will be remembered forever.
And I don't give a fuck about the killed guy - more of them need to be killed. That's exactly what they're doing to thousands of people to create their fortunes.
by Anonymous | reply 573 | December 5, 2024 5:08 PM |
No one has claimed responsibility for doing this. Usually a group would claim they did it, or a lone wolf nutjob would leave behind a manifesto.
I think the wife set it up because she didn't want to be the ex-wife of a felon who was about to lose his fortune and go to jail, or even worse, was about to replace her with a trophy wife.

And he couldn't possibly be wearing a disguise... anything from a fake nose (looks to me to not quite fit with the rest of his facial features) to a full-on mask. Hell, most people can wear makeup sufficient to disguise their looks. He was smart enough to know to wear a hoodie and face mask (in fairness, anyone watching Marge Green Toilet placing the pre-Jan 6 bombs knows to wear a hoodie and face mask), calmly walk away after firing shots (I haven't seen the claim that there were 6 bullets fired, and the NYT only mentions two message-bearing casings were found), carry a change of clothes, and ride a bike to foil both foot and car chases, so the concept that he was in full disguise is not out of the question.
