[quote] Pastor Davey Blackburn Says God Allowed Wife's Murder So Church Could Live
Davey Blackburn, the grieving Indiana pastor whose pregnant wife, Amanda, was shot dead during a home invasion on Nov. 10, said God told him he allowed his wife to die so the church could live.
Blackburn, who pastors Resonate Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, made the revelation two Sunday's ago at the First Baptist Church of Elkhart where his late wife's father, Phil Byars, is lead pastor.
Byars stood in support of his son-in-law prior to Blackburn addressing the congregation at his request.
"I told dad yesterday that I didn't want to say anything partially because I don't know how well I can hold it together when I speak to people. Partially because I haven't talked to my congregation yet or addressed them," Blackburn began. "But I suppose sometimes you have to talk to your parents before you talk to your kids about what's going on in your life."
He then explained the encounter he had with the Lord in the shower that morning.
"I had a thought this morning in the shower. And felt like the Lord spoke to my heart and said: 'Davey, I want my church, I want my bride to come alive. And if I had asked you, Davey, before this if you were willing to give up your bride so that my bride can come alive, what would you have said?'" he noted with an uneasy chuckle.

"She was rhythmic?"
What the hell does that mean???

Didn't we have an endless thread here about how he's guilty as sin and got away with his wife's murder. We debated over the evidence for months.

Pastor Davey has crazy eyes.
His new wife is cute, though.
You in danger, girl!

It means she squirmed a lot, while he was strangling her.

I think he meant to say "steady," not "rhythmic," but maybe he's a Janet Jackson fan.

"I don't want their lives to be wasted. We've all been through enough pain."
Really, Davey? Look, I know he's a Christian and is supposed to forgive and all that, but you can forgive without bending over backwards and assuring the killers that their lives can be AMAZING. It's also just so... dismissive. "Amanda's in heaven, so let's just move on, shall we?" I don't trust this guy. But then again, if he WAS behind it, the killers would have taken him down, wouldn't they? No matter how many times I look at this case, it doesn't make any sense!

That new wife had better watch her back on the daily.

I doubt anyone here will fight you for him.

R5 We sure did. We speculated endlessly on whether Etsy Nanny was banging him, etc. I still can't believe he got away with this. Wasn't he facebook friends with the shooters? It was all so weird, and her family still loves him. And of course he's married again, he was within 7 months I think. HIs kid needed a mom so no one batted an eye.

"It's a shame about wifey, but hey, just look at how well her murder worked out for me!"
I've never seen heartbreak expressed so eloquently. 🙄

"He looks like he gets fucked up on speed. He is a gay man. He and killers were social media pals... He sat in a car an hour in the very early am talking to a guy in his car while his wife bleeds to death. He looks like a creepy hustler who snaps on a trick and takes a runner. I am speechless that the media is so ass kissing. He marries the daughter of the chaplain who counsels the killers in jail.
Something in this is completely off. What service is davey providing to get this protection?"
This is a post from a previous Davy thread, I think it sums it up nicely.

Aside from whether or not he helped kill his wife, this kind of screwed up Christian logic is usual in these circles, and just a distraction from really doing Christ's work on earth: helping the meek and the poor, feeding the hungry, nursing the sick, forgiving their neighbor, befriending their enemy. All of that would exist without a church and money rolling in to support the church. He wants to move on because he doesn't want his leader scarred by the dead wife and questions about her death. That is why he remarried and had a child. He is moving onto power, and more power. To quote Eugene O'Neill - " Why can't the dead stay dead?"-Mourning Becomes Electra"

I will never believe he is innocent. What kind of logic is it that Amanda died so his fake “church” could live? But God doesn’t want to take new wifey?

[quote] The Eerie Message Davey Blackburn Preached 2 Days Before Wife's Murder
Two days before his pregnant wife Amanda was fatally shot in the head in their matrimonial home two weeks ago, Resonate Church Pastor Davey Blackburn preached an eerie message on using worship as a weapon to get through "situations that we can't handle."
"We call this buzzword worship a lot but we don't really know exactly what it means. And so we wanted to help you understand that worship ultimately is not a moment when we sit in a service and we sing. Worship is essentially what controls you. What controls you is what you worship and so worship is a 24/7 lifestyle lived out not just on Sunday but Monday through Sunday every single day 24/7," said Blackburn in the nearly hour-long message recorded on Nov. 8 and posted to YouTube on Nov. 19.
"We all come upon situations that we can't handle, that are too big, too painful, too daunting for us to overcome. In these times, the only answer is to put our eyes on God and let worship be our weapon against whatever opposes us," the description of the video noted.
On the morning of Nov. 10 while Blackburn was away at the gym, police said his wife was shot in the head during a home invasion. She succumbed to her injuries the following day along with her 13-week-old unborn daughter, Everette "Evie" Grace Blackburn.
"So many people in this room are new followers of Jesus. And I want you to know that in your walk with Jesus you're gonna face some enemies, you're gonna face some battles. Sometimes the battle is in me. I've heard this said before, the greatest enemy is in me. Sometimes it's in your own mind, your own psyche, your own thoughts," he said two days earlier.
"Sometimes it's other people. You're gonna face some things, but by God's mercy He's going to walk you around some things that are stronger than you. But you will face those things later when you're stronger because God wants to show you that he's stronger and that he will prevail," he added.

When Davey married Amanda, it was a "double wedding" with Amanda's sister.
That's WEIRD.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 27, 2024 12:30 AM |
He had nothing to do with her murder. 3 young men were on a crime spree and she was one of several victims (and her unborn child).
The shooter, Larry Jo Taylor, got an 86-year prison sentence.

R30 - No - there were too many inconsistencies in his statement, he bought a lot of shit right after she died and moved on REALLY quickly. Never really showed any emotion. He was never distraught.
Just because someone went to jail for it doesn't mean he wasn't' involved. Clearly, HE HIMSELF did not kill her - but he had someone else to do it. I guarantee it.
You don't know the details - we spent months on this.

Do you have a thread link, R31?
I can't find one.

Oh man, I completely forgot about this creepy guy.
I can't believe someone married him. Fuck him, sure, but set yourself up for a mysterious accident? Honey, no.

R16 and r18 have links to previous threads.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 27, 2024 2:48 AM |
r31 you spent months speculating and were proven wrong. Move on. He had nothing to do with the 3 young men's crime spree. Just because you think he did, doesn't make it so. Stop accusing innocent victims of being involved in their spouse's murder just because you can't comprehend things.
BUT HE WAS FACEBOOK FRIENDS WITH ONE OF THEM!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 27, 2024 3:20 AM |
In all seriousness, R35 could be right. My boyfriend told me the same, and we both really wanted Davy to be involved. However, I don't get why you're so mad about it R35. Are you Davy or Etsy Nanny? The fact he was in the goddamn driveway while she got killed is pretty fucked up. Also, he's a fucking creep ie pastor. He's a grifter asshole and his new wife is dumb.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 27, 2024 3:31 AM |
R36 - yes, there's always a chance. But domestic homicides are usually tied to a woman's partner.
How often does a husband have social media connections with his wife's killers?
It's not coincidental. And his behavior screamed guilty - the sermon with the guns, the sudden spending spree, him talking on the phone in the driveway an hour longer than usual while she bled out?
Too much circumstantial stuff.
