Davey Blackburn has resigned from his church

To continue to suck the marrow from Amanda’s bones with his nebulous “Nothing is Wasted” scam.

I will never ever understand how people fall for this church shit - donating so much money, month after month, to people who "had a calling from God to move on, now that I've murdered someone and destroyed a church." Yet people sure are praying for him!

Who?

by Anonymousreply 9March 11, 2019 4:31 PM

You're extremely tedious, R9.

I thought about Davey just the other day because the threads on him really died down. I do think that he will eventually pull something on his new wife. Why wouldn't he? He completely got away with it the first time. I would bet that he has taken out a large insurance policy on her as well as the child she brought to their marriage.

by Anonymousreply 16March 11, 2019 7:13 PM

So he drove the church into the red and then abandoned it?

How could it have that much debt? It was in a damn strip mall. The rent was 1k or less.

What happened to all the money that was donated?

Did he take the money and run?

by Anonymousreply 17March 11, 2019 7:49 PM

[QUOTE]What happened to all the money that was donated?

You can track where all the money went by taking a look at his Instagram. Also, lots of little gifts to himself ("check out my new kicks!") and CrossFit dues. This man is a consummate grifter who also happens to be a murderer.

Here's a link to the first thread, from 2015, R19. There were eventually 9 or 10 parts, but some of them seem to have been deleted.

DL's search results are are bit, shall we say, whimsical, but you can find some of the other parts by going to Google and searching for:

AND I can't believe the incompetent cops couldn't link him to it. He did some crazy messy shit after she died too - constant trips, golfing with bros, etc.

What happened to all the money donated? How much was it? This is all too disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 46May 18, 2019 10:25 PM

The cops couldn’t link him to it because there is so much evidence linking the three guys to it. Dumbass ^

by Anonymousreply 47May 18, 2019 10:31 PM

R47 - Yes, we all know that. But did he pay them to do it - we know he didn't actually do it. He had connections with those 3 guys.

Random to have some guy come in and murder your wife at 7am for no reason. Shit like that just doesn't happen. If it was burglary as the motive, the robber could have just fled.

There was more to it - and anyone following the case knows it.

by Anonymousreply 48May 18, 2019 11:28 PM

Sounds like Davey knew things were dire and started a fund to help rehabilitate young criminals. (Oh, the irony!) He set a goal of $250,000 and had only managed to accumulate a couple of thousand when this interview ran a few months before the church shut down. Somehow I don't see Davey leaving town broke. Meanwhile the pastor he hornswoggled to take over a dead church is out of a job, has no money, six kids, and no future. Tough titties says Davey. Is it me, but does the usually cheerful Davey sound a little extra in this video?

From OP’s link (words written and spoken by Dave Blackburn):

As he grieved his wife’s passing, Blackburn tried to make sense of the death, saying, “God didn't cause this to happen but he allowed it to happen in such a way, he allowed the breath of Amanda to come out of her so that the breath could be breathed into you and into me so that we could advance the Gospel in a way that history books have never even told."

This is some of the craziest shit I’ve ever read. He’s basically explaining that “God” allowed his pregnant wife to be murdered and raped, along with their unborn child, sacrificed as an offering, in order to have her “breath” bring the church to life.

I honestly cannot understand how people believe this kind of stuff. It is really fucking delusional and it is really sick. I would be devastated beyond comprehension if I lost my spouse and unborn child, and I know for a fact that I wouldn’t be capable of dating someone new within 7 months and marrying them a year later.

This man is a sociopath. A delusional, grafting sociopath.

by Anonymousreply 64May 19, 2019 2:52 AM

I don’t believe he hired those three people to murder Amanda, by the way. These were hardened criminals, and had been robbing dozens of homes in the city.

What I believe Davey did do, is walk into his house when he returned from the gym. He saw his wife bleeding to death, walked out quickly, got back in his car and decided to call his bff and chat for almost an hour, hoping she’d be dead ASAP.

This scenario actually makes him more of a monster, than had he hired a hitman. Any man who can think that quickly in order to capitalize on someone’s suffering, as they died, and decided to not take any life saving measures immediately, is as cold as ice.

He will not kill the second wife. He doesn’t kill, he believes, however, that God allows people to be murdered or to die, just like he allowed Amanda to die. He is pretty much admitting to allowing Amanda to die when he says, “God Did not cause Amanda’s death, but he allowed it”. Davey thinks he is a vessel of God, and believes he is God because he is created in God’s image. Davey is not referring to God, when he says this. He is referring to himself.

I do predict that one of the children in the family will either die young from a tragic accident, or were “peacefully called home by the Father”. Perhaps a broken neck from participating in a highly dangerous activity, encouraged by Davey, or crib death.

The cops in this case are some of the biggest idiots ever. Davey Blackburn allowed his pregnant wife to lose so much blood, that she died. His intentions and unwillingness to summon help immediately, were motivated by his desire to hasten her death, and that is a criminal offense. He should be behind bars.

by Anonymousreply 65May 19, 2019 3:38 AM

You'd think the precious fetus would rate a conviction. Guess cause it was a girl.

by Anonymousreply 66May 19, 2019 3:54 AM

Davey makes the hair on my neck stand up, he is a creepy mofo.

Even in the honeymoon tape with Amanda you could tell something was not right with him. The gun sermon was chilling.

He seems to be more than a narc, sociopath is more like it. Death, financial ruin, incredible harm to people and eh, he just skips along. Maybe he is a megalomaniac, he did seem to be projecting himself into the role of God there.

by Anonymousreply 67May 19, 2019 4:52 AM

What a creepy scumbag.

by Anonymousreply 68May 19, 2019 4:56 AM

[quote]I honestly cannot understand how people believe this kind of stuff.

Oh, you have no idea how surprised you’d be.

by Anonymousreply 69May 19, 2019 11:27 AM

R69, I’ve been personally exposed to this stuff, so I have an idea.

I read the articles regarding financial expenditures for his church. Davey purchased, with the church’s money from parishioners, mega-screens and expensive audio equipment so that his sermons were visualized and heard as if he were performing in a really large concert venue. He thought he was a rockstar. And while this equipment is used in mega-churches that are really large in order to provide visuals and audio for anticipated attendance of over 500 - 1000 or more parishioners, Davey’s church only had a peak attendance rate immediately after Amanda’s death, numbering below 500.

There wasn’t any justifiable reason for him to buy equipment that weren’t needed for attendance at 130-150 max, the regular and average numbers, months after her death. He bought the equipment because he’s a narcissist, who wanted his face and voice splashed and heard all over a building once a week, seating no more than 150 max, on any given Sunday.

His church went out of business at just below $40K in the red. Parishioners are PISSED, at him specifically, and are now demanding detailed financials, because they want to know how their money was used. But that’s on THEM. Christian or not, any reasonable person would raise an eyebrow to a pastor who lost his wife & unborn child in such a violent manner, and took expensive vacations, bought a new SUV, a new home, dated & remarried, all within a year of his murdered wife’s death.

Normal people don’t do that. I had an amazing client who was 34 when his wife died from an aggressive form of breast cancer. They had 2 kids. He was independently wealthy. It took him 3 years to even get out & start dating again. He remarried 5 years later. This guy would call me up & talk to me about her many times. It was totally obvious he adored his wife and was a grieving widow with small kids to raise.

These parishioners were ripped off because they allowed themselves to be. It’s blatantly obvious Davey cared very little for his wife, for them, or anyone but himself.

[quote]Did we ever find out what the scandal was that forced Davey to leave NC for Indy?

He lied about cow-tipping.

The lie was he & his friends went cow tipping. The farmer went after Davey & became so upset, he had a heart attack & died. Davey said it was another classmate. The entire school/town turned on him. SO much wrong w/this story. Less than $500 to his name, failing church, $100,000 owed back to church that funded him starting Resonate here, pregnant wife that didn’t have same sex drive as he did, mounting bills, but multi-million $$$ life insurance policy on wife. Wakes up at ass crack of dawn, but leaves late for gym, leaves door unlocked, sits outside of house for 30+ minutes talking on phone, calls 911, but doesn’t tell them true nature of call, starts a GoFundMe at the hospital, sells t-shirts at funeral, live tweets during funeral, registers “nothing is wasted.com” before casket is picked out, starts traveling the world, buys a $65,000 SUV - pays cash, registers “Serendipity” & buys $500,000 home, rents more office space, golfs, finds a publisher, new clothes, etc..

by Anonymousreply 76May 19, 2019 3:59 PM

No one wants this case to die. It's like John and Patsy. Everyone knows who the murderer is but nobody can prove it. The Blackburn murder case garnered worldwide attention and DL had several threads devoted to it. Enty revealed one of his blind items on the case last year:

"In this worldwide headline making murder case there is some new evidence that has been found which looks very damning for the thirsty celebrity husband of the wife who was killed. His story and actions have never really jibed and investigators kept digging. Apparently it was a tip though that led to a revisit of timelines and and something that happened when the huge life insurance policy was originally bought. I'm also told he went through the insurance money quickly with his new extravagant lifestyle. There are only so many books and seminars he can sell but he won't cut back on his spending.

Davey Blackburn

That was 1/18. So nothing yet.

A commenter on Enty's site said,

"Data Lounge had a lot of great insider info on this, until Davey had his attorneys shut it down. :(

LOL

by Anonymousreply 77May 19, 2019 4:31 PM

R76 - good detailed summary for those who don't know about the case. I do, but I fail to recall all the shit from 3 years ago. It was a train wreck.

I can't believe the Indy cops and DA don't have ANYTHING on this guy. People have been arrested for much much less.

by Anonymousreply 78May 19, 2019 4:32 PM

How on earth did Daveys attorney know about DL to shut down the thread??

by Anonymousreply 79May 19, 2019 4:36 PM

From a Reddit post three months ago about Davey abandoning the church:

"Indy news is covering it.

Basically his church he founded was thousands in debt and he abandoned his congregation through a blogpost while leaving the associate pastor to figure out how to dissolved the entity. Misused funds and bad leadership. He has already begun his speaking tour.

He bought his extravagant home with the “serendipity Llc” that was created months after his wife’s death. This is people donating to a “ministry” that he is using for personal things.

The alleged killers trial keeps getting pushed back and the publishing company is holding his book until the trial is over. Supposedly to be used at trial. There is new evidence regarding phones. A new subpoena.

On top of this, him and his new wife are going on a 3 week counseling trip to “bring restoration”.

Something happened.... Things are happening....

by Anonymousreply 80May 19, 2019 4:44 PM

Barely a week after Blackburn’s departure, Pepper Berry, John Berry’s wife, revealed on Instagram Wednesday that her family was in dire straits.

“Currently we have no job (and no that WAS NOT our choice — don’t believe everything you hear). We have no idea what’s next for our family of six, no back up plan, no next destination, no home. Who would choose that for their family of six? No one. We also have a car that now has engine problems and a tremendous amount of unknowns,” Pepper Berry wrote.

Meanwhile, Davey is enjoying his "Serendipity."

[quote]How on earth did Daveys attorney know about DL to shut down the thread??

A simple google alert? New to the internet are we?

by Anonymousreply 82May 19, 2019 4:53 PM

I hope they get this scumbag. That is all.

by Anonymousreply 83May 19, 2019 5:18 PM

Blackburn is a textbook "sociopath next door", so much so that even conservative Christians can see through him!

They're THE most gullible people on Earth when it comes to "men of God" and authority figures, but only 150 of them fell for Blackburn.

by Anonymousreply 84May 19, 2019 5:30 PM

R84, Davey's followers were mostly women and/or relatively young. Those raised in fundy-type households have been raised to obey authority figures without question or else be subject to some form of punishment or severe threats. Younger members appear to have been searching for a substitute family-type of congregation which "them vs us" charismatic leaders can abuse. Davey took advantage of the most vulnerable.

by Anonymousreply 85May 19, 2019 5:38 PM

Most preachers have excellent speaking voices and that's because most Divinity schools provide voice training. This is why so many of them sound like they are former radio DJs. They learn all the nuances of the classic "preacher voice" that is specifically meant to woo & comfort the gullible morons they're preaching to and invariably open their wallets and pocketbooks that much more.

As far as Davey killing his first wife, I don't buy it at all. If there was even a hint that he had anything to do with it there would have been an indictment. As far as I know the people convicted of killing her never accused him either. And if he had paid them to do it that's the first thing they would have done. Sing like songbirds.

by Anonymousreply 86May 19, 2019 5:49 PM

I'm with r9. Who the hell is this person and why should anyone care?

by Anonymousreply 87May 19, 2019 5:51 PM

I'm guessing he left because he wasn't able to make the kind of money to live the life he wanted to become accustomed to. 74k of debt is rather puny frankly. That church must have been small potatoes. He probably has his sights set on being another Joel Osteen, living like a Potentate.

by Anonymousreply 88May 19, 2019 6:25 PM

R86 - or 'snitches get stitches' mentality. If they paid a gang, one takes the fall. But there may be repercussions for him or his family if he talks about it.

Sorry, but there are just too many weird things associated with this. How often are people FB friends with their wife's killers?

by Anonymousreply 89May 19, 2019 6:29 PM

Well of course Davey WANTS to be a televangelist and live like a potentate, R88, but it seems that not even the Christian idiots he's been trying to ensorcell are buying his line of bullshit and it's not happening.

150 parishoners.

What does he do next? Oh I'm sure he'll find something, sociopaths always find a sucker, although in his case, apparently he's not going to find millions of suckers.

by Anonymousreply 90May 19, 2019 6:50 PM

R88, Don't forget it was Joel Osteen's father who spent years building up that church to where it is now with a regular TV audience inspired by the free motivational sermons. Even smaller mega churches all host weekly singles groups, young mothers' support networks, recovery seminars, coffeehouses with Christian approved entertainment, etc making it as much about a social life as a source of religious inspiration. It's more 2019 than the seemingly old-fashioned Catholic Church sponsored weekly bingo nights.

by Anonymousreply 91May 19, 2019 7:01 PM

How does a church sell off its “worship”?

by Anonymousreply 92May 19, 2019 7:03 PM

I assume by "sale of worship/production" they mean any worship service videos or motivational videos they may have. The only things they can sell off are tangible assets. Office furniture, equipment, etc..

He didn’t kill her. He found her dying and walked out immediately to sit in his car and continue gabbing to his buddy, while she bled out further.

That’s why he has conflicting statements about finding her. He found her twice. The first time he found her, he ran out of the house and back into his car, and pretended nothing was wrong, while he chatted & prayed with his BFF, & the 2nd time he “found” her, he called the paramedics.

He even said stupid shit like: “I thought she was miscarrying”. Yes Davey, because when women miscarry, they bleed from the back of their cranium.

He’s a fucking psycho, and he’s off to start a new venture and rip off another community and another church.

Where are they going to live?

R90, In all my born days and career teaching literature, I have never encountered the word "ensorcell"!

I am now properly ensorcelled by you!

by Anonymousreply 107May 20, 2019 4:47 AM

r90, go ensorcell yourself.

You people are more insane than him.

by Anonymousreply 109May 20, 2019 4:55 AM

Everyone who says he had no role in killing the wife-- it's just so hard to believe anything else. As people have said here before, either he had her killed or he's the luckiest sob to ever walk the earth. Like seriously? Someone who was so obviously unhappy in his marriage, doing gunplay on stage the week before, who just took a big policy out on his wife, just happens to be the random house these thugs shoot up?? If he didn't have her killed- he's either the luckiest guy, or unluckiest guy because it just so happened his wife was killed at the time that makes him look guiltiest.

I don't believe in karma per se, but seeing as Pastor D has screwed over so many people whether or not he had one killed, it just seems like he can't keep getting away with it, can he? The notion that another congregation will welcome him in, no questions asked, and that his preaching will trade off, that can't possibly fly in the internet age, can it?

I used to fear that the unbelievable tragedy that he portrayed himself rising up from (even forgiving the killers! Hoping to pastor to them in jail!) would make him a new Mother Teresa in Fundy eyes. Certainly some bought it for a time, but I'm encouraged by the fact that a few years on, we have heard so little from him except the church's failure. Someone here said the book release is held until after the trial, no idea if that's true but it makes sense. There's no way Davey would be holding back, no doubt he was chomping at the bit to get it published, do a glam press tour, and start selling his story in earnest to millions of fundy frau. His story had all the makings of a new superstar- and everyone but us and a few others seemed ready to believe it- so the fact it hasn't launched more or else at all makes me wonder if they are indeed onto him.

by Anonymousreply 110May 20, 2019 4:57 AM

He's white and blandly handsome, he'll land on his feet.

by Anonymousreply 111May 20, 2019 5:11 AM

R104, The case was widely covered in the Daily Fail and in the international press, as well as the standard online paps. Originally it got traction due to the tragedy of the victim being a solid Mid-Western, Conservative pastor's daughter and wife. Tragic as she had a very young son and was pregnant with a daughter she really wanted.

Then the holes in Pastor Davey's story started getting bigger and bigger, and many questioned if they would have reacted similarly if their loved one had been so brutally raped & murdered.

So where are Davey Blackburn, his new pregnant wife, Weston, and the stepchild now? He just wrote a parting shot blog entry and disappeared? I just love how in his "I popped the question" blog entry, he included a picture of the couple, sans heads, with Davey sporting some impressive trouser tenting.

Does anyone picture him tied up, wearing a mask and ball gag with meth rocks shoved up his ass at a Kokomo Days Inn?

Alll the men he posts on his insta ping hard.

How/why do fundy churches appeal to gays? It seems like they’ve got more gays than the Republican party (another baffling conundrum).

It’s neither impressive nor tenting.

by Anonymousreply 119May 20, 2019 3:36 PM

R115, I've posted before on DL re the fact that most of the men I saw at my GF's conservative church social related activities were not 100% straight.

The strict prohibitions against pre-marital sex and in some sects even about masturbation means that religious straight men either get married young or/and spend a lot of their free time getting really physical in sports. Otherwise their mothers bring them to church functions to try and meet a nice girl. Look at the number of gay and bi men singing in the choir. Not all of them are straight but with a very low sex drive.

by Anonymousreply 120May 20, 2019 3:47 PM

Oh, please, R120. The straight teenage boys and the single men who aren’t gay are watching straight porn on a regular basis, and/ or having sex with their “virginal” girlfriends.

The gay ones are watching gay porn, & using pseudonyms on Grindr.

Here’s what I saw when going to these fundie type churches: pregnant teens who had their mom’s take them to the abortion clinic, pregnant teens who hid the pregnancy, until they went into labor on the school bus (yes, this actually happened to a 14 year old, who was the younger sister of one of the girls whose mother took her in for an abortion at 16), another pregnant teen (the pastor’s daughter), who got knocked up at 17, and her sperm donor had to marry her when he himself was a 25 year old bible “college” student, and a bunch of teenagers, drinking & drugging whenever they weren’t in church.

I can promise you that the majority of Christian teenagers, gay, bi, or straight, will at the VERY LEAST have premarital sex, anal or otherwise, before marriage.

I’m grateful I saw all of that behavior go on before I ever had sex, making me aware of birth control options long before I decided to have sex. When my parents searched my room one weekend, and found my birth control, I made zero apologies. I told them the truth: I had it there because even though I was still a virgin (in every way), I highly doubted that I would remain one much longer, and no way in hell was I having a baby in high school. And of course they disposed of it, and of course I went right back to the drugstore and got myself some more. No surprise pregnancies, no abortions, unlike my peers, who were all divorced, and/or single moms by 22 or younger.

Christians are delusional if they think their kids aren’t going to do the same exact thing that they did: have premarital sex. That’s why their kids exist, in the first place.

Idiots.

p.s. Davey either had her killed, which I HIGHLY doubt, or allowed her to die, which I HIGHLY suspect.

by Anonymousreply 121May 20, 2019 4:41 PM

[quote]So glad I got hip to the scam very early on.

Now if you’d only “get hip” to the fact that straight women aren’t wanted here.

by Anonymousreply 122May 20, 2019 4:53 PM

I for one welcome R123's sinus-clearing dose of good sense. Hope her parents learned something from her.

Question: has Pastor Davey's erstwhile mentor Perry Noble commented on these recent doings? I'm not seeing anything. (Linking to the straightest-looking picture I could find of him.)

by Anonymousreply 123May 20, 2019 5:03 PM

R123, you must’ve searched LONG & HARD for that picture!

by Anonymousreply 124May 20, 2019 5:07 PM

My god, can you imagine THAT pumping away on top of you, R123?

by Anonymousreply 125May 20, 2019 5:08 PM

R121, I was speaking of LDS and extreme Christian fundie churches as well as Chassidic Jewish groups, and not the more mainstream groups of the South and the Bible Belt. Very few 100 straight single men over the age of 16 regularly were present, compared to the number of girls & women.

R115, To answer your previous question, many parishioners of both sexes are attracted to charismatic religious leaders and have intense fantasies. Keeps them going regularly to church weekly and actively participating. Moral church leaders know how to handle this situation without taking advantage.

by Anonymousreply 126May 20, 2019 5:44 PM

If he paid to have her killed, why didn't the three guys implicate him instead of taking the entire blame? Maybe it was mentioned, but I dd not read the whole thread.

by Anonymousreply 127May 20, 2019 6:27 PM

Because "snitches get stitches."

by Anonymousreply 128May 20, 2019 7:04 PM

Last we heard Perry was "struggling" with alcoholism, up for divorce and had money problems. Don't think he and Davey are that close anymore especially after Davey abandoned the "church". R123

by Anonymousreply 129May 20, 2019 8:13 PM

When does he kill wife #2?

by Anonymousreply 130May 20, 2019 8:15 PM

R129, coincidentally, there are also rumors swirling about, regarding Noble misappropriating funds from his mega-church, in order to keep up with the humble lifestyle of a pastor, who is so humble, he lived in a mansion.

I haven’t a clue what’s happened in that case, but Noble is just as nutty as Davey, and has been criticized for highly “inappropriate” sermons, with children present during his Sunday morning service, allegedly drunken, rants.

If those men targeted Amanda as a murder for hire, it was done on the orders of someone who could and would easily have those men who killed her, murdered, otherwise, they would have snitched Davey out.

What I think was the most likely scenarios were that because these guys were already on a roll that morning, breaking and entering, and burglarizing other homes, they saw no car in Davey’s driveway, checked the door, it was open, & boom, they raped & killed her. Davey was driving home, talking to his buddy, walked into the house, immediately saw Amanda bleeding to death, walked out quickly and quietly, & continued his conversation with his buddy, knowing she was in mortal danger.

The other possible scenario, is that Davey, narcissistic blowhard that he is, started proselytizing to other guys at the gym. One of them noticed Davey’s routine, & mentioned it to a buddy, who was part of the trio, or to someone else who knew the trio.

And if he posted his workouts on social media, then anyone could have been aware of his routine.

Regardless of any of these scenarios, I believe the story ends in the same exact way. Davey walks into the house, spots his wife mortally wounded on the floor, and hightails it back to the driveway, in order to allow more blood loss.

The only thing I question is his baby. I do wonder if he would have allowed her to bleed out, not knowing if the baby was safe. Which then, makes me think that either he was hoping the baby was dead too, or it really was a hit, and the baby was supposed to go with mommy to heaven, but the killer couldn’t do it, or Davey knew the baby wouldn’t be killed, because that’s not what he paid for.

Has it ever been established whether or not neighbors heard the baby crying? I would imagine the baby would have been startled by hearing 3 gunshots, & would have cried very loudly?

by Anonymousreply 131May 20, 2019 10:35 PM

"Davey walks into the house, spots his wife mortally wounded on the floor, and hightails it back to the driveway, in order to allow more blood loss."

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous. An innocent Davey would have no way of knowing if these guys were gone for good, but you think he'd just sit there in his driveway, chatting on the phone? "Hopefully, my wife will bleed to death and they won't kill me, too!"

The reason he DID stay with Amanda in the house is because he knew-- KNEW-- that he wouldn't be killed.

by Anonymousreply 132May 20, 2019 10:45 PM

One of the details that has always struck me concerning the baby, is that Davey told the paramedics to check on the baby when they arrived, claiming that he had not yet done so.

Who, on planet Earth, would walk in on the bleeding, practically dead, body of their spouse and then NOT immediately run upstairs to check on the only remaining human in the house, especially if it was your only (born) child? It just makes absolutely no sense. I think he knew the child was fine because the contract was never for him, only Amanda.

by Anonymousreply 133May 20, 2019 10:48 PM

Well, R132, I did question my own theories, as you can attest, by reading my post.

R133, that’s what gets me too. I would have sprinted up those stairs for the baby IMMEDIATELY, NO QUESTION.

There is just absolutely no possible way that a normal & loving parent walks into a situation like that, without immediately making a b-line for their toddler, with absolutely no thought about their own safety. It’s 100% parental instinct, and it’s what parents do.

by Anonymousreply 134May 20, 2019 11:47 PM

Etsy Nanny knows something about Amanda’s murder that she hasn’t told authorities.

by Anonymousreply 135May 21, 2019 1:04 AM

Is this bitch in jail yet?

by Anonymousreply 136May 21, 2019 1:06 AM

One thing that hasn't been mentioned on this thread, at least, is that Davey did not activate the home security system when he left for his morning work out that day. This despite living in an area known for break-ins and while his wife and only child were home alone. Seriously?! He did not turn the alarm on knowing his neighborhood was a high target area while his pregnant wife and child slept inside? Yeah, Davey Blackburn, Yeah.

by Anonymousreply 137May 21, 2019 1:32 AM

And, R137, he left the door unlocked, against his usual habit. Yes, a lot of the information we discussed in earlier threads is not being taken into account in this one.

by Anonymousreply 138May 21, 2019 2:04 AM

This Pastor Davey drama and the Donovan Hotel murder were both absolutely riveting as they were unfolding in real-time on this board.

by Anonymousreply 139May 21, 2019 2:30 AM

Yes, R138. Another detail I recall is that Davey was a baseball coach for a team that one of the assailants had been on. I don't remember if it was through some community organization or his high school. Facebook wasn't the only connection.

So I take it that no one knows where he absconded to? Is he still in his $500K house? I can't imagine he's there because it sounds like his congregants are close to picking up pitchforks. Hopefully, the new wife has family she can go back to, if she's realized what a shit he is.

Yes, we all suspected him of being deeply closeted, back when we were obsessively poring over every detail of his existence.

by Anonymousreply 149May 21, 2019 8:59 PM

R148, His honeymoon video is beyond inappropriate for a pastor, especially when showing off the bathroom. Do you think it was an attempt at overcompensation? Trying too hard to connect with a young audience? Most handsome/cute religious leaders I've met are clearly aware that there are stalkers in 2019 and try to create a privacy barrier between themselves and their followers/congregation.

Davey is that TX egocentric jerk on steroids. The most intimate info ever publicly revealed about him is that Victoria advised women to shop at Victoria's Secret to please their husbands.

by Anonymousreply 150May 21, 2019 9:09 PM

Davey says in his statement at R141’s link, that he would have made very different leadership decisions, along with management decisions. Um, yeah! How about you not running it, Davey.

Let’s put aside Davey’s questionable and suspicious involvement or non involvement with his wife’s murder for a moment.

Churches are a BUSINESS. Non profit, not for profit, etc., doesn’t matter what their tax status is. They are a business, and a business needs to be ran by people who have knowledge in running a business.

These guys go to some sort of bible college and those colleges teach the Bible in a way that is in accordance to their specific beliefs. Some of them don’t even do that. They are either told by another church member that they have the “gift”, and start preaching, or they go away to some summer training camp offered by some group affiliated to their church.

When they graduate from these programs, they have a pietof paper that is completely worthless in the real world.

These aren’t people who go to university, and obtain a degree in Theology or Religion, or Philosophy. There’s value in those degrees, because they are accredited universities, and if anything, graduates can teach, or work with reputable organizations that hire graduates in those specific areas. That’s not what happens when you attend some bible college, or summer ministry program.

Of course your church is going to go in the red. No one there knows how to legitimately run a business, which includes sales, marketing, accounting, expenses, payroll, HR, etc. All of these things apply to a church.

Davey couldn’t even be bothered to turn on his alarm system, lock his front door, or immediately secure his child. So WTF makes ANYONE believe that he could successfully run a business???

And it never fails to befuddle me, how people like the new pastor, can easily uproot his entire life, and that of his family, because something that isn’t actually speaking to him, told him that this is his next move.

These people are all nuts, plain and simple.

Unbelievable.

by Anonymousreply 151May 21, 2019 9:09 PM

Thought churches had a Board of Directors, usually volunteers from the executive business world and retired professionals, to oversee finances and manage fundraisers. Are would that be another thing of the past? I've noticed even in Black churches in very poor areas one rarely hears about bankruptcy.

by Anonymousreply 152May 21, 2019 9:17 PM

We're not talking about a church church here; we're talking about a preaching franchise.

by Anonymousreply 153May 21, 2019 9:30 PM

R153, You are so wise.

by Anonymousreply 154May 21, 2019 9:47 PM

Either way, these guys have no formal training and/or education in business. They didn’t graduate from college with a BA, or an MBA. They don’t even attend a real college. Anyone, Christian or not, who has a degree, puts it to good use, especially when they have multiple mouths to feed and a mortgage payment.

A church doesn’t have to have a board, though it should. And having a board doesn’t mean anyone on that board knows what they’re doing either. There’s no guarantee that anyone with any competentcy is actually on the board.

Mega-churches are usually a different story. That’s not what this church was.

I wouldn’t hire Davey to mow my lawn, much less run my church.

Davey has questionable ethics. Pointing a gun, real, not real, loaded, unloaded, is cause for IMMEDIATE termination in my book. It is a passive-aggressive symbol of violence. It is a church, not a film set. People whose panties wad up in a bunch fairly quickly, and their KIDS, are a part of the audience that were subjected to Davey’s sermons regarding his waning sex life with his wife. Totally inappropriate, as is waving around a gun as a prop.

He has proven himself to be a man who makes poor choices for his congregation, for the safety of his family, and his choices not only led to the demise of his church, but also the violent rape and murder of his pregnant wife.

If this church decided that they wanted to engage in a professional relationship with a man who failed to take extremely simple, usual & customary steps in order to help secure the safety of his own family, then they should not be surprised that he also didn’t take the proper steps necessary in securing the financial welfare of their church.

by Anonymousreply 155May 21, 2019 9:55 PM

"Mega-churches are usually a different story. That’s not what this church was. "

But that's what Davey wanted it to be, he wanted to build a franchise of mega-churches around his charismatic preaching.

I think he's a sociopath, but a stupid one. He doesn't really know how to exploit people at the higher levels, doesn't understand how people react to him, and he's ignoring the financial gruntwork needed to fleece his parishoners the way the big guns do.

by Anonymousreply 156May 21, 2019 11:27 PM

Well, he's suspected of reading these threads, so with any luck he'll take away some lessons from here.

by Anonymousreply 157May 21, 2019 11:31 PM

[quote]And it never fails to befuddle me, how people like the new pastor, can easily uproot his entire life, and that of his family, because something that isn’t actually speaking to him, told him that this is his next move.

And who are you to say what is or isn’t actually speaking to him? How do you know who is speaking to him unless you experienced it yourself?

by Anonymousreply 158May 21, 2019 11:49 PM

To be fair, r158, anyone who uses commas like that isn’t exactly an authoritative source.

by Anonymousreply 159May 21, 2019 11:53 PM

R158, It's the way Davey uses his claimed directional inspiration from God that bothers me the most. More moral Christian motivational speakers and pastors would use that phrase as a way to inspire their followers.

For example, "God told me I wouldn't always be poor and suffering in pain. I just had to find a way out of my situation, no matter how discouraged I might be feeling and how hopeless my life appeared at the time. I just couldn't give up." Of course I'm paraphrasing but even an atheist could relate to the speaker's attempt to mentally lift up listeners.

See the best of the paperbacks written by various spiritual leaders over the years, including those written by non-Christians. They're all very similar in that the writer isn't pretending to be far superior to the reader but just more aware. Davey does not come across in that manner.

by Anonymousreply 160May 22, 2019 12:44 AM

R158, who has been "speaking" to you, dear, and what do they tell you?

by Anonymousreply 161May 22, 2019 1:46 AM

God speaks to all pastors. That’s what all Sunday service is all about. People go to hear what God told the pastor this week. People can’t hear God but the pastor can so they use him as a conduit to God. For you to make fun of God “speaking to him” means you don’t believe in the role of pastors and their conversations with God. Why belittle their jobs? Pastors don’t cum to your work and knock the dicks out of your mouth.

by Anonymousreply 162May 22, 2019 6:00 AM

R162, Do you believe that God only talks to Pastors?

by Anonymousreply 163May 22, 2019 6:01 AM

Who else does God talk to?

by Anonymousreply 164May 22, 2019 6:02 AM

I look forward to his leaked sex tape.

by Anonymousreply 165May 22, 2019 8:34 AM

The new wife is even cuter.

by Anonymousreply 166May 22, 2019 9:18 AM

R164, God talks to anyone who wishes, although sometimes communication is through dreams or indirectly through close friends & loved ones. Pastor Davy cannot claim exclusive rights to God's Words.

by Anonymousreply 167May 22, 2019 9:23 AM

How does God talk through close friends and loved ones? Does he possess them like when Whoopi talked as Patrick Swayze in Ghost?

by Anonymousreply 168May 22, 2019 9:31 AM

R168, Have you ever had a close friend give you solid advice? Considered that God was directing your friend to assist you? Some interpret dreams as God's or Angels' messages.

It's how one chooses to look at life & surroundings. Atheists would interpret the same communications as not being divine inspired. Still others would explain that the universe is answering.

by Anonymousreply 169May 22, 2019 10:06 AM

But did that friend not have free will when he gave that advice? Or did he not remember giving the advice at all once God left his body?

by Anonymousreply 170May 22, 2019 10:54 AM

R142 Like Michael Peterson in Raleigh-Durham. An owl did not kill the second wife. The missing fireplace blow-poke wielded by Peterson did. The owl feather that stuck in her hair came off of the blow-poke that sat near the fireplace chimney.

by Anonymousreply 171May 22, 2019 11:00 AM

Does god call these pastors collect? Cause that may explain why the church always needs so much money. That’s gotta be an expensive weekly call.

by Anonymousreply 172May 22, 2019 12:08 PM

I cannot claim that God does or doesn’t exist, regardless of my beliefs. NO ONE CAN. Be honest. Believe whatever you choose, but you, as a Christian, have no solid, verifiable proof of God’s existence, just like atheists have no verifiable proof of God’s non existence.

Claiming that God is speaking to you, or anyone else, directly, or though angels, or dreams, is just that: a claim.

Making life altering decisions, especially ones that turn out in failure, is actually a decision that YOU made. Claiming that God made that decision for you, absolves you of the ability to have good sense, and accountability.

God didn’t choose to allow Amanda Blackburn to be murdered. Amanda Blackburn was murdered because a violent sociopath with zero regard to human life walked into her home, and killed her. That criminal was able to do so, because Davey Blackburn didn’t take the necessary steps available to him on that morning, to insure the physical safety of his family.

Everything that happened here, had to do with the choices of others. The only person in this scenario who had no choice, was Amanda.

This crime had absolutely nothing to do with God, even if He exists. And NO. God didn’t tell Davey Blackburn while he showered, that He allowed his pregnant wife to be raped and murdered, so that a church can grow in membership, and thrive financially. Davey Blackburn is a delusional narcissist, who used his self talk as a reason why his wife was murdered, instead of being completely honest with himself, and recognizing and admitting that his wife and unborn child were dead, because HE, NOT GOD, CHOSE TO NOT ACTIVATE HIS ALARM SYSTEM AND LOCK HIS FRONT DOOR.

C’mon. Get real, & GMAFB.

by Anonymousreply 173May 22, 2019 12:21 PM

R170, God would not meed to enter the friend's body to influence or direct him/her to give advice. Likely the friend could not distinguish what is free will. You're making this much more complicated than it actually is in reality. Those with faith believe God sends positive people into our lives to assist us when our path becomes too difficult.

If you don't believe in God or have another type of spiritual belief you would likely interpret the exact same set of circumstances very differently.

by Anonymousreply 174May 22, 2019 12:55 PM

R173, I've heard many people try to explain away various tragedies along the lines of "We don't know why God allowed this serious car accident to occur but maybe He in His wisdom has a greater plan, and we well see a greater good come out of it." I'm assuming rationalizing unfortunate situations allows a lot of people to emotionally let go of the pain, trauma, and fear tragedy usually brings.

Davey's appears to be an extremely selfish, inconsiderate, narcissist who IMHO isn't in touch with God's morality. I've never even heard of a pastor who'd respond as he did re his wife's death. Ministers have lost their babies and young children due to sudden devastating illnesses and accidents. Sure they talk to their flock how their loved ones are now in Heaven living a better life but they're still trying the best they possibly can to hold back deep seated grief & tears.

by Anonymousreply 175May 22, 2019 1:06 PM

Oh my god, I'm just looking for nudes. I'll settle for a VPL shot.

by Anonymousreply 176May 22, 2019 1:32 PM

R176, you might find some VPL on his many Crossfit posts if he's still posting them. You'll have to wade through a lot of "Nothing Is Wasted"-branded crap, but murder must be monetized, so keep at it.

Please take all the "God talk" elsewhere.

by Anonymousreply 178May 22, 2019 3:53 PM

He looks like he gets fucked up on speed. He is a gay man. He and killers were social media pals... He sat in a car an hour in the very early am talking to a guy in his car while his wife bless to death. He looks like a creepy hustler who snaps on a trick and takes a runner. I am speechless that the media is so ass kissing. He marries the daughter of the chaplain who counsels the killers in jail.

Something in this is completely off. What service is davey providing to get this protection?

by Anonymousreply 179May 22, 2019 4:13 PM

Who has been keeping up with Davey's blog entries & the attached Comments? Too, too much IMHO.

After all of this are people actually making inquiries about his motivational speaking and life coaching services? I noticed that his last blog entry on May 16 was about Nothing is Wasted's new logo. I didn't bother to read the entry, but he' s acting like it's full steam ahead.

by Anonymousreply 181May 22, 2019 5:23 PM

[quote]Please take all the "God talk" elsewhere.

While I agree in principle, this is a thread about a pastor. You should’ve known it would bring out the Bible thumpers.

by Anonymousreply 182May 22, 2019 5:58 PM

Not only is R182 correct, but let’s not forget that Davey claims to be a believer, & claims that God spoke to him immediately after Amanda’s murder, & allegedly advised Davey that He allowed for his wife to be killed, along with their unborn child, in order to make the church profitable. He said “to breathe life” into the church, but we all know that this means parishioners who grow in numbers and keep coming back regularly, in order to regularly offer 10% of their incomes to the church.

The language used by Davey, also suggests that God saw fit that Amanda be offered up as a sacrifice. A human sacrifice. Apparently, Jesus wasn’t enough??? Isn’t His carnal suffering and death the entire foundation of Christianity?

All of this, all of it, is highly delusional, disturbing, and just the absolute definition and epitome of narcissism.

by Anonymousreply 183May 22, 2019 11:14 PM

Apologies if the "God talk" was offensive to some. I was simply trying to illustrate how moral pastors would react to their loved ones tragic death versus how delusional, narcissistic Davey responded..

by Anonymousreply 184May 23, 2019 12:14 AM

If you do read the comments under some of Davey's social media they're mostly negative. Nobody believes he didn't have his wife murdered.

Also, I've never taken an insurance policy out on a husband. The thought never crossed my mind at that age.

by Anonymousreply 185May 23, 2019 2:16 AM

Does anyone know what the payout for the policy was? The only reason I can see for taking life insurance out at that age is if a workplace doesn't provide it and in that case it would be for me, not my spouse. Amanda was incredibly naive to have signed a policy with many zeroes

by Anonymousreply 186May 23, 2019 2:41 AM

This commenter on Statement Analysis says maybe $1.5 to 2M payout on life insurance.

"Generally, life insurance proceeds are not taxable so he kept all of that cash. By putting the house in his business's name and not himself personally, it not only hides the true owner of the home, he protects the home from creditors in case he is ever convicted of her murder. He could be sued personally but nobody could touch anything that he put into his business unless they try and prove a fraudulent transfer, which would be difficult. He most likely got a double indemnity payout, so the amount of the policy would have doubled. I'm guessing he received $1.5 to $2 million dollars, all tax free."

by Anonymousreply 187May 23, 2019 2:58 AM

If God talks to you, you have schizophrenia.

by Anonymousreply 188May 23, 2019 3:04 AM

R188 is correct.

by Anonymousreply 189May 23, 2019 2:20 PM

Nothing Wasted is an admiral goal. To shift into environmentalism and recycling is a good move.

by Anonymousreply 190May 23, 2019 5:12 PM

Thanks, R187. I wonder if the insurance company has any suspicions. Do they have investigators who review cases with red flags such as this one? It's not like they would recoup their money, but the fraud angle...

by Anonymousreply 191May 23, 2019 6:16 PM

I also think the "Indy" police are most likely very racist and were quite happy to call the whole thing done once they had three black men in custody.

by Anonymousreply 192May 23, 2019 6:22 PM

R188, R189, Having studied Cultural Anthropology extensively at UCLA, all cultures in the world promote the belief in a Supreme Being of some type. Psychologically people universally feel comforted that they can talk to a Higher Power when they face adversity such unpredictable & potentially extremely destructive weather. This in fact reduces mental illness as long as it's not taken to an extreme.

Admirable pastors fulfill the role of an ideal parent, guiding their flock and forming a supportive community. Ideally ministers should also function as a motivational speaker & MFCC for the very poor & disenfranchised & isolated.

Davey Blackburn took extreme advantage of his followers and could easily be compared to a failed cult leader rather than a skilled pastoral counselor. Note that any book he writes like his blog & talks are all about him. Still famous self-help paperbacks by religious leaders use personal examples as a guide of how others can overcome adversity.

Atheists of DL can apply everything I've written only using "subconscious" for God speaking to them, and agnostic authors or those who adhere to Buddist principles for the self-help books.

by Anonymousreply 193May 23, 2019 7:07 PM

R192, Know what DL thinks of CDAN but sometimes it's an outlet for anonymous posters to publicly reveal info they've learned on controversial crimes. There have been multiple Blinds on Davey Blackburn and his involvement. Many question when and how he bought life insurance for his deceased wife.

by Anonymousreply 194May 23, 2019 7:29 PM

I agree with r192 - a conviction is easier to get with a minister as the victim.

by Anonymousreply 195May 24, 2019 12:38 AM

If according to Davey Amanda died so the church can live, doesn't that mean that Everything Was Wasted, since the gymnasium church is no more?

by Anonymousreply 196May 24, 2019 6:11 PM

In this tape, watch Davey give himself away at 6:35. Super creepy.

by Anonymousreply 197May 24, 2019 11:15 PM

Fuck that IS creepy, r197.

by Anonymousreply 198May 24, 2019 11:55 PM

R197, R198, Most telling are the comments from Christians, some who lived nearby to his church, calling out Davey for essentially being a false Man of God.

by Anonymousreply 199May 24, 2019 11:59 PM

If you look at the comments under any of these videos, nobody (xtians, etc.) believes Davey's innocent. The IPD really screwed the pooch on this one.

by Anonymousreply 200May 25, 2019 1:56 PM

Is there somewhere besides reddit I can read about this?

Thanks!

by Anonymousreply 205May 26, 2019 2:14 AM

Wow, R197.

He comes across like a tweaker.

by Anonymousreply 206May 26, 2019 2:31 AM

He's hawt!

by Anonymousreply 207May 27, 2019 12:46 AM

Compared to the guys DL usually calls hot, yes he's hot R207.

by Anonymousreply 208June 5, 2019 11:12 PM

Christianity is depraved.

by Anonymousreply 209June 5, 2019 11:34 PM

With all the things Davey's done and said it's hard to believe they haven't been able to pin this on him in one way or another. He's definitely behind it. Anyone who watches his videos can see that. It's another Jonbenet case.

by Anonymousreply 210June 6, 2019 12:00 AM

"Nothing is Wasted" is the most bizarre campaign slogan. Someone wasted Amanda Blackburn.

by Anonymousreply 211June 6, 2019 12:02 AM

Except to him she was a “nothing.”
