OK let me tell you what’s going to happen right now

Because almost the exact same thing happened to Henry Cavill

After filming Batman Superman, Henry Cavill was going to produce and star in a vanity project called Stratton. Right before production began, he dropped out over creative differences. Like the day before production was going to start. Then the next couple of weeks he began to be photographed in public looking like shit, wearing the same clothes every day, staggering out of a nightclub with coke on his shirt, he got a black eye, you get the idea. Like Cavill’s project, it’s not with a major studio, so there won’t be too much collateral damage if he drops out before production begins. And he is in the very same position with Cavill in having a very big cannot-drop out project from a big studio on the horizon - Cavill had Justice League for Warner Bros. Elordi has Frankenstein for Netflix.

So he will drop out of Narrow Road to Deep North. He will disappear for months, and be ready to film Frankenstein towards what I assume will be the third or fourth quarter.

Now, if he does NOT drop out of Narrow Road before production begins, several things may happen:

1) He may be unable to complete project because of mental and physical burnout and drop out mid-production, or he may even be fired. This cannot happen because that will affect his insurance. If he cannot be insured, then he loses Frankenstein anyway.

2) He completes the project, but at tremendous mental and physical cost, possibly acquiring a drug addiction. He may not be able to pass the physical for Frankenstein, or he’s in such bad condition that he’s taken off the project anyway. The precedent for this is Heath Ledger. He was not in any condition to do Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus for Terry Gilliam (very similarly project in fact to Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein) and it killed him. Mid-production.

Now Elordi is very very fortunate thanks to Heath Ledger, because his people are now probably going to make the connection between Ledger and himself simply on the basis of being young Australian men in ascendant stardom, and they’ll stop him from making Narrow Road. A dead golden goose lays no eggs.

Has Narrow Road finished shooting? It seems unlikely given that Elordi just started losing weight for it and had been filming O Canada and promoting Priscilla and Saltburn.

If the peacetime scenes have already been filmed, then he has to complete the POW scenes which probably constitute the majority of the series. A few seconds of audio has emerged from the confrontation. It is only a few seconds because Jacob asked Josh to stop recording and he obliged. Josh sounded like he was respectful in his approach and Jacob sounded like a dick, in my opinion. But who knows what happened once Josh stopped recording. He shouldn’t have.
