Charlie's spiral and hospitalization, Charlie getting better, the sex stuff, Nick's university visits and subsequent agonizing over leaving Charlie, making the decision to go to Leeds, Charlie applying for and getting head boy. That's without all of the side shit like Isaac, Imogen, and Tori's sexuality stuff and Darcy's issues.

R39 My guess is S4 will begin with a time jump montage of Nick and Charlie’s cute couple life which will then kick start the Nick and Charlie novella plot line.

R42 my concern is they just won’t show Charlie’s hospitalization since Alice basically skipped it in the comic too. It’ll be told through all their friends supporting nick, the real victim, as he goes on university tours. I agree there’ll be two seasons but I do see the writing on the wall for this to not be “Charlie’s season” they way everyone has claimed

Nick looking at ibis but not deciding anything whilst Charlie is away makes sense and they maybe have a healthier discussion about everything by the end of the season and season 4 is about choices and equal support and them getting intimate then that’s fair.

But I don’t trust Alice and they’re having to speed run it all even with a season 4.

As much as I do think Charlie is pretty present in things, that’s due to Joe’s acting more than the actual script if that makes sense? I totally agree it’s all about Nick because Kit is the money maker.

There’s sort of a running joke in the comic that nick can be a bit chavvy and rough and that sort of comes out in the fight with him yelling and calling Charlie mate; in the comic Charlie has been biting and sarcastic more and we see that flare up in the fight. I honestly still think the nick and Charlie fight is super out of character, more specifically its resolution not being the next day, but it fits into their characterization a bit better in the comic.

I wonder if they separated it from Charlie's gig and they'll shuffle that into next season, kind of how they shuffled some of the conversations in season 2.

Part of what’s so frustrating is Joe didn’t get adequate praise for how much he killed it in s2 because Alice didn’t add in scenes to show he was really suffering behind closed doors and just putting on a good face for others. For pure show watchers, it kind of just seemed like maybe he was being honest and overall ok. If she’d included scenes of his having a breakdown or spiraling solo and then putting on a good face for nick, I do think he would’ve gotten as much praise as Kit for a really well done, deliberately contained performance.

Now it seems like his mental health will be wrapped up neatly in a few episodes, which really doesn’t give time for even the canonical beach scene, telling his parents about his issues, getting worse, going inpatient, his hospital stay, his recovery, his semi breakdown at Christmas, and then his recovery journey. Frankly all that stretching across even 8 episodes is expedited considering nick and Charlie kissed s1ep3 and it took nick until s2ep8 to come out, but when it seems even shorter? Joe will once again get fucked over on good material.

Joe ironically has almost the opposite problem of most male celebrities or men generally. Most of them do clench and jut out their jaws a bit purposefully to look like they have stronger jawlines and bone structure. Generally dentists advise waiting a while for an implant for a molar or premolar because your jawline changes as a teenager, especially as a male teenager. We’ve seen joes develop and sharpen even since s1. Since teeth and your jawline shift as a result, an implant you put in at say, 16 could be out of place or need replacement by 21. So holding off till 21, 22 or even a little older is advised.
