Forgot to add last thread, for those who asked about Eric. Another thing pointing at professional connection to me is when Joe’s Rollacoaster cover came out, he liked joes post about it, the original Rollacoaster post about it, and a fan account, I believe. Lots of dedication for a friendly new acquaintance imo. And given I really don’t think they’re fucking or anything, I’m guessing he cast joe in something.

I don't think the Vogue event is going to be too picky about who they invite. It's supposed to be like the UK Met Gala and is kind of falling flat. Could see any of the main four going if they wanted to and maybe some random UK titkok celebs.

Kit has a couple of ways of getting in. Through his general Conde Nast connections (he's been in both British GQ and Vogue and has attended multiple British Vogue events and private dinners), through his Loewe/JW Anderson connection, through his general pull as a public figure (his two British Vogue Instagram posts are likely among the top liked of all-time on their account; the posts are at 1,043,370 and 1,287,651 likes respectively and the account's average likes per post is 10k). The event is also a philanthropic event benefiting the arts, including theater, so with him likely working in the West End in the future it would be an appearance that makes sense. This is assuming Kit wants to go in the first place, might be for naught.

He's got a lot of reality show friends. He gives me the vibe of a guy who wants to be a little famous, even if he's not clout chasing currently.

His brother was on Love Island, he knows all the reality stars and definitely uses them to promote his tattoo business. He doesn’t seem like a clout chaser to me. He doesn’t want to be famous in his own right. More that he wants to be known as a tattoo artist to the stars. He gave Isaac Carew (Bash’s bestie’s boyfriend) his tattoo, which will always be funny to me.

While I definitely think Joe can do way better, and I don’t love the age gap, the fact that Tal has a semi-famous brother is what I like best about him. He understands how crazy fans can act and how fame can effect a person, so he probably empathizes with Joe when he’s stressed out by fame. But Tal’s less likely to be jealous of Joe’s success, since they work in entirely different industries.

Not to be an uppity asshole, but the Heartstopper fandom is made up of the simplest bitches on Earth. It's a photoshoot with a pretty clear theme (Kit in the transitory stage of his career between childhood and adulthood, the juxtaposition of the grown up clothes with the childish props), in a magazine founded by Warhol. It was never going to be whatever Harry Styles-esque bland editorial these bitches keep wanting where he's wearing nail polish and a skirt because that's the only manifestation of male queerness they can envision.

Anyway, the show is officially out of the Top 10 WW on Netflix (and I think also out of the Top 10 in every individual country). Lack of press really killed its longevity but it did better than it did when it got the 2-season renewal, so there's that.

Promos keep the conversation going. The Heartstopper ones especially the Joe and Kit ones are always huge. If you space them out over the weeks it keeps the show in the social zeitgeist.

I don’t think the strike will be over by then honestly, but if it somehow magically ended in late September, Netflix might want to drive up viewership in the last few weeks. But seems really unlikely. I think there’ll be other projects more likely to get that treatment; ones whose 90 day window coincides with the holidays, when more people have free time and inclination to watch or binge things anyway. The type of “promo” I can see is Netflix gunning for more magazine and newspaper stuff to feature joe and Kit.

R125 I think DL and twitter are the only places that strongly dislike him, but think most other places are just positive based on the belief he’s still close to Kit and joe. When HTDBW comes out and the cast don’t hype it, he’s no longer spotted with the cast or posting pics and birthday posts of them, and the others continue to be closer, a lot of them will lose interest. Even casual fans with no issue with him did seem annoyed he was in the promo videos with joe and Kit instead of just joe and Kit together, too.

He just doesn’t have standalone appeal or an it factor the way Joe or Kit do. And he’s not independently talented enough, the way will is with his music, to draw them in regardless

Whatever show people are most likely to watch second after subscribing to binge a certain show is also something they would want to renew. And something they would want to advertise, so they can keep subscribers.

I’m the person who seems to hate Tal the least on these threads. I don’t like him, just don’t hate him. I also have zero expectations of them lasting long term. I believe they’re dating, probably exclusively, but also think it’s not super serious. As has been mentioned, Joe’s gone on multiple vacations without Tal and there has been extremely little commingling of their friend group. They’re just dating, not intertwining their lives.
