The Gays and Tennis, Part 154 -- US Open, Bishes!

From Cincy to New Jark -- so many questions to answer!

Will Carlitos defend his title? Will he get his teefs fixed, ever?

Can Jpeg carry her winning form over to Queens?

Speaking of Queens, will (not so) Young Grigor make a deep run this year? Do we miss Rafa?

Will Novaxx get a boob job?

Will Daddy or Our Tommy ditch the poison's p's and earn Gran Slam success?

Will Peppa win the New York crowds over with her haute couture and soft features?

Will Legz wear even shorter shorts? Will he grow some leg hair?

Will Granny Vee make it past the first round? Will they let her on the grounds?

Have fun and have at, gurls!

Thank you ever so for the new thread, OhPee!

by Anonymousreply 1August 14, 2023 9:48 PM

Will Novaxx and Rune make USO first-round exits?

by Anonymousreply 2August 14, 2023 9:52 PM

Wow, so embarrassing. The Dianne Feinstein (Venus) of tennis beats Cootermetova, the world no. 15.

by Anonymousreply 3August 14, 2023 10:07 PM

JJ Wolf is the star in the Tennis Point commercial running nonstop on TC. No mullet, lean and looking good. I think his family owns Tennis Point.

by Anonymousreply 4August 14, 2023 10:46 PM

Granny Vee's lipstick situation is giving me 5 year old who got loose in Granny's Avon collection vibes.

by Anonymousreply 10August 15, 2023 1:16 AM

How come Wozniacki vs Ukrainian Svitolini was "cancelled" today? Was one of them injured?

I keep looking at the next round where they're already filling in the names but I don't see either one on there yet, but Granny Vee is! (she's in Round of 32 with partner TBD)

Here’s Jannik with his new physio Giacomo Naldi.

Venus, with that silly red lipstick, resembles those Men on Film from In Living Color. Love her - she is one of a kind. Just like JJ's mullet, V is playing ya,

by Anonymousreply 25August 15, 2023 11:15 AM

Porna needs to do decently this week, as he's losing the 1000 points from winning last year!

by Anonymousreply 26August 15, 2023 11:19 AM

I'm in Cincy, and hearing rumours Murray and Carlos may be pulling out. No one wants an overcrowded week, and the weather is supposed to be better today, in the 70's but players hate playing 2 matches in one day, and that might be likely a couple of times this week.

No no no not my woobie Rubie. Hang in there, Tay Tay - my heart must go on.

Garcia, Samsonova, Bencic, Keys out - also Norrie and of course, FAA, but at least he managed to beat Berrettini.

by Anonymousreply 35August 16, 2023 6:33 AM

Pardon me for the intrusion. I'm not a tennis fan beyond watching a final here and there, but I find the picture in the OP, (Jelena Ostapenko, never heard of her) strange.

Is it a bad angle or photo shot badly? Because she looks like she struggles with weight, as in very heavy to be effective on the court. She seems to have stomach rolls beneath her top, as well as limbs that look heavy to keep up for a match rather than muscular.

by Anonymousreply 36August 16, 2023 6:48 AM

Those are some thunder thighs at OP.

by Anonymousreply 37August 16, 2023 6:53 AM

Djokovic is out.... well, lost his doubles match to J. Murray and M. Venus.

by Anonymousreply 38August 16, 2023 9:20 AM

Good for Gaydrian! He's a tricky player. But FAA still appears to be slumping.

Some potentially good matches outside center court today: Stan v Big Foe, Lore v Med, Hubie v Porna, Bi-Lo v Daddy.

by Anonymousreply 43August 16, 2023 1:54 PM

It’s de fault of da defaulter.

by Anonymousreply 44August 16, 2023 2:16 PM

Did anyone post the Vanity Fair spreads of ATP and WTA players. They're really mostly terrible. I saw the pics in Reddit r/tennis, but I'm not sure if they've been officially released. There's some on twitter too.

by Anonymousreply 45August 16, 2023 2:42 PM

They couldn't have done a worse job on Tiafoe.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 46August 16, 2023 3:16 PM

Yep. Tiafoe was the one I immediately thought was the worst. The lean back, the terrible suit color that's too close to his skin tone, the horrendous lighting. Shelton probably looks the best, which isn't saying much. Madison Keys - oof. Though, to be fair, these people are being posed and, especially with the women, it seems to make them even more stiff looking.

by Anonymousreply 47August 16, 2023 3:20 PM

Uhm no Coco Puffs in that Vanity Fair Spread??

by Anonymousreply 50August 16, 2023 4:13 PM

Tiafoe looks okay. Tommy looks like a greasy pimp.

by Anonymousreply 51August 16, 2023 4:14 PM

Danielle Collins probably looks the best of the women, which sort of surprises me.

by Anonymousreply 52August 16, 2023 4:32 PM

^^ it doesn't even look like her, that's why. Airbrushed to high heaven

by Anonymousreply 53August 16, 2023 4:38 PM

Too bad Daddy Fritz - the player who has the silhouette and cheekbones most like a model - wasn't included.

by Anonymousreply 54August 16, 2023 4:38 PM

Tiafoe does not look okay. As R47 stated, the lighting and background are terrible and the choice of suit color is about as unflattering as could be. That photographer needs a new gig doing anything else.

by Anonymousreply 55August 16, 2023 5:00 PM

I think Fritz did something for VF earlier this year.

by Anonymousreply 56August 16, 2023 5:02 PM

Alycia Parks and Claire Liu? I think I've seen the names but barely know who they are. That they're ranked 43 and 52, respectively, is even more of a surprise. They both look okay.

by Anonymousreply 57August 16, 2023 5:08 PM

And making noise when Elena was trying to serve -- and shuffling her feet/legs a lot. Someone in the chat says she goes that all the time! beeyatch!!! normally I wouldn't care but not against my Ryba! Who was just screwed over by Montreal with the match timing.

by Anonymousreply 88August 16, 2023 11:30 PM

by Anonymousreply 90August 16, 2023 11:48 PM

It should be. You know it'll be an extreme irritant if we have multiple tennis theads.

by Anonymousreply 91August 17, 2023 12:08 AM

R87 kind of like the rumor that Murray would pull out for strategic reasons instead of his "abdominal sprain" or whatever he said.

And the US Open is on all their minds.

by Anonymousreply 92August 17, 2023 12:10 AM

I meant Legz at R86 not Leg.

by Anonymousreply 93August 17, 2023 12:12 AM

[quote]Trigger warning! TRIGGER MOTHER FUCKING WARNING! This site contains all kinds of pointless shit posted by very peculiar people. You will doubtless be offended, perhaps outraged – that is assuming we are doing our job and you have any sense at all. Those delicate souls who worry about being offended should probably not hang around here. Quite honestly, nobody should hang around here - it is a very bad place full of very bad people posting truly awful things. Which is precisely what we would like for the next 20 years.

by Anonymousreply 105August 17, 2023 3:20 AM

Murray hanging around and practicing at the site of a tourney he blew off for his 'injury' has really irritated a lot of the players still in the draw. I hope he never gets another wild card anywhere. Venus at 43 would never pull a stunt like this.

At least Stan balances his barrel shape and tummy with a great, full ass.

by Anonymousreply 155August 18, 2023 4:54 PM

SheHulk team.

by Anonymousreply 156August 18, 2023 5:10 PM

by Anonymousreply 157August 18, 2023 5:29 PM

So many groin injuries on both the men and women sides

by Anonymousreply 158August 18, 2023 6:28 PM

It's been annoying me that Sabalenka was reminding me of someone but I couldn't pinpoint who - it's Caitlyn Jenner!

Just me? And Cait is a lovely lady, don't get me wrong.

by Anonymousreply 163August 18, 2023 7:13 PM

Random Aussie just won the first set against Carlitos.

by Anonymousreply 164August 18, 2023 8:09 PM

Is there a reason Carlos has been struggling of late against no name nobody players?

by Anonymousreply 165August 18, 2023 8:22 PM

Coco faces iga next. Poor girl

by Anonymousreply 166August 18, 2023 8:22 PM

Damn Purcell is giving Carlitos all he can handle.

by Anonymousreply 167August 18, 2023 9:06 PM

"Coco faces iga next. Poor girl."

Yeah, she's been beaten down by Iga and her games doesn't match up well. Iga is simply a better player. But, it's an opportunity to see if she's made any progress with the coaching changes. She's done well since those changes, but she hasn't really beaten anyone "huge." She still has technical problems with the forehand/forehand footwork.

by Anonymousreply 168August 18, 2023 9:15 PM

A. Zverev.

by Anonymousreply 169August 18, 2023 11:23 PM

Carlitos does not seem to care lately....

by Anonymousreply 170August 18, 2023 11:24 PM

Big Sab is self sabotaging right now against Jabeur

by Anonymousreply 171August 18, 2023 11:55 PM

[quote]Carlitos does not seem to care lately....

The top players often don't really want to play the smaller tournaments - I am sure that he will be 100% focused when it comes to the US Open.

by Anonymousreply 172August 19, 2023 12:20 AM

Djokovic about to defeat Daddy Fritz. I must say though that Daddy has a very interesting appearance. His coloring has almost an olive tone/pearl translucence. It reminds me of Josh Hawley's as disgusting as Hawley is.

by Anonymousreply 173August 19, 2023 1:59 AM

Novak too DL boyfriend Taylor Sfritz to the woodshed.

First set TF took it hard and fast in 15 mins .

Love it

by Anonymousreply 174August 19, 2023 4:34 AM

Too too.

by Anonymousreply 175August 19, 2023 7:00 AM

by Anonymousreply 176August 19, 2023 7:50 AM

[quote]Other than her husband, has anyone else ever been "on" Jabeur?

I really wonder what's going on in that relationship. They seem like a surprising couple and both ping my gaydar. Of course, she's from a very conservative country (and he is too). But maybe it's real, of course.

by Anonymousreply 177August 19, 2023 9:22 AM

Peppa is simply charming! A consummate gracious professional.

Oh, never mind. IDGAF.

by Anonymousreply 179August 19, 2023 11:40 AM

Jesus, you're in the big leagues now. Take it down a notch.

by Anonymousreply 181August 19, 2023 12:55 PM

[R180] absolutely. He needs to stop. I understand after winning a set but not after every GD point. Sinner does the same thing.

by Anonymousreply 182August 19, 2023 2:05 PM

Sinner could be on the bus to prison and he'd be pumping his fist and staring at someone. Lol. This sort of interaction will become the norm because (1) the generation of players who were raised on social media and with smart phones since they were born and are totally dependent on constant feedback, (2) legal coaching - if you actually can talk to your box now, it of course makes sense that you would, though I still think players take it overboard, and (3) because of legal coaching, coaches aren't just in-the-background people anymore, they have a visible job even during matches, and I think they want to feel like they're contributing in the moment so they're probably a bit overzealous about having their players look their way and in getting them through the match. Not everyone will end up at the Alcaraz or Sinner level, but I think it will become broadly more common.

by Anonymousreply 183August 19, 2023 3:38 PM

by Anonymousreply 187August 19, 2023 5:03 PM

Pere Riba, Coco's new coach, is looking fine. But that is a hard 35!

Gilbert has a great tennis mind, he knows history and he's not a smarmy asshole like the Brothers McEnroe or Jason Goodall. Gilbert and Darren Cahill are pretty much the only reason I can stomach ESPN coverage of the slams. I like Shriver, too. The rest, including Evert, ugh.

by Anonymousreply 205August 19, 2023 9:56 PM

I like thinking that Hubie has an average looking uncut dick when it's soft but when it's hard it grows and grows into a very thick 8 incher.

by Anonymousreply 206August 19, 2023 10:09 PM

Speaking of dicks, Carlitos was just on the floor at the net and the camera zoomed in on his bulge - I'd say a nice chubby 7.5"

by Anonymousreply 207August 19, 2023 10:15 PM

I need to service Hubie once and for all.

by Anonymousreply 208August 19, 2023 10:15 PM

I can imagine Hubie making out with some hot girl and he gets really hard. She unwraps it and is like, *holy shit* and Hubie just shrugs his shoulders and flashes that goofy smile of his.

Novaxx did all these shenanigans to throw Carlos off his game. There was nothing fucking wrong with him. The bastard

by Anonymousreply 271August 20, 2023 11:44 PM

Novaxx played possum that first set

by Anonymousreply 272August 20, 2023 11:44 PM

Novaxx is always near death until he decides he isn't. He's been doing this rope-a-dope for 20 years, yet players still fall for it. When Carlos was up a break in the second set and Novak looked like he was going to fall over, Carlos had two Novak service games where he could have possibly achieved a double break. But he played super loose, going for winners early, not constructing points, seemingly thinking since he was up a break and Novak was near death, he could just hold his serve and win the match no problem. Big mistake.

They are miles ahead of everyone else. I've never seen a better final for a 1000. And good for Coco. She held it together when it looked like she would choke. Telling her parents to stay home and let her trust her new team shows great maturity from her. She and Jessie could meet in an All American women's final.

by Anonymousreply 288August 21, 2023 1:07 AM

Seems like at most you and one or two others are the only Djokovic fans on this board, R286.

by Anonymousreply 289August 21, 2023 1:12 AM

Epic match. Went from underwhelming to Slam final vibes.

by Anonymousreply 290August 21, 2023 1:17 AM

Carlos needs to wise up, Djokovic is a sneaky one.

by Anonymousreply 291August 21, 2023 1:51 AM

I think Nadal would be an excellent coach for Carlos and not just because they speak the same language. He'd also be taught what good sportsmanship is, not that Carlos isn't a good sport but he would be elevated.

by Anonymousreply 292August 21, 2023 1:58 AM

Uh...Nadal a good sport? Where did that come from? He's not a 'bad' sport, per se, but I would hardly call his excessive stalling rituals to be anything remotely near good sportsmaship. And no, I don't think Novak is a good sport either. Roger has the best sportsmanship of the 'big three,' but he could get prissy when he wanted to, as well. I actually think Carlito is a better sport than any of the big three, at least from what I've seen so far.

by Anonymousreply 293August 21, 2023 4:03 AM

The VERY best players usually aren't great coaches. Not that it's a hard and fast rule - Lendl was really good with Murray. But usually it's not the case. JFC is fine for Carlos; I don't think he needs Nadal.

by Anonymousreply 294August 21, 2023 4:07 AM

It's very hard to focus and keep at a high level for a whole match. I think that's what the potion does for Djokovic. It's something that you inhale and increases alertness and concentration. It's likely illegal too which is why he doesn't carry it himself.

by Anonymousreply 295August 21, 2023 4:33 AM

Is Djokovic taking poppers during matches?

by Anonymousreply 296August 21, 2023 4:44 AM

by Anonymousreply 299August 21, 2023 11:03 AM

I almost turned off the TV during the 1st set of the men's final of the Cincinnati Open when it looked like Djokovic was wilting fast, but I'm so glad I didn't because it turned out to be one of the most thrilling, entertaining matches that I've seen in a long while. It really was like the gripping final of a Major, and I honestly didn't know who was going to win. Each player had lapses but then regrouped and, like many classic matches, it really turned on just a few points. At 36, Djokovic proved that he still has the athleticism to hang with the best of the new generation. And at 20, Alcaraz showed that he already has the mental wherewithal of someone with many more years of experience on the tour. I can't wait to see what happens at the U.S. Open.

On the Tennis Podcast, they were discussing how quickly both Roddick and Agassi won majors after starting to work with Brad Gilbert.

He’s clearly made a huge change with Coco seemingly overnight. During Wimbledon, conventional wisdom about Coco was she needed to go away and retool her forehand and establish a new coaching relationship over time or she’s continue her downward slide.

This is outright miraculous. I’m suddenly a believer.

LOTS of very hot guys in the qualifiers. If you have time, catch the matches on ESPN Plus. My favorites from yesterday include Galarneau (who was referenced above, but I've been following him secretly for several months so I'm claiming him), Aidan Mayo, Martin Damm, and Montiero. It's very hit or miss as to how much of the hotness you can see of the players because those cameras break away faster than shit on a griddle, but if you're patient and lucky, you can see some very hot, drenched ATP stars.

by Anonymousreply 375August 24, 2023 4:25 PM

Excited for the USO next week. Love the slams, especially the first week when there's wall-to-wall matches. Plus, since it's in the US, the viewing is a lot easier since there's no super late or early matches (like Roland Garros and Wimbledon early day matches that start at 4 or 5 am here, and Australian Open night session which starts at 2:30 or 3:30 am in the States).

by Anonymousreply 376August 24, 2023 4:29 PM

I think the window might be closing on Thiem.

He has too much mental scar tissue. Unless we see him break out in a big way pretty soon, I suspect he’s done.

Very sad. Hope I’m wrong.

by Anonymousreply 378August 24, 2023 4:45 PM

The Zverev-Thiem 2020 US Open final was a disgrace to tennis.

by Anonymousreply 379August 24, 2023 4:59 PM

The entire 2020 US Open was a disgrace - much of it through no fault of its own. That was peak Covid malaise and was just so fucking depressing all around. No crowds, the Djokovic incident, all of us "sheltered in place" not knowing when any of this shit was going to end. Ugh.

by Anonymousreply 380August 24, 2023 5:07 PM

Borna looked so hot, last night, in Winston-Salem. And, I’m not referring to the temperature.

by Anonymousreply 381August 24, 2023 5:16 PM

COVID made me realize how important crowds are to tennis. It’s not just “atmosphere.” The players respond to the energy of the fans. Without the noise, it’s as if the match isn’t really happening.

by Anonymousreply 382August 24, 2023 5:17 PM

I think so too, R382. It's like the theater--the audience really is a character necessary for the play to work. The actors need an audience. Anyone who's acted knows that difference between the final dress rehearsal and the first performance.

by Anonymousreply 383August 24, 2023 5:33 PM

Two things, r413:

1) "Even now that he's surpassed them in number of GSs won" would be more accurate. The whole GOAT debate is a crock.

2) Despite not having played a single tennis match in 2023, Federer is number 9 on the 2023 Forbes top ten hightest paid male athletes. Confirmation of your "so much more famous and beloved that [Djokovic will] ever be."

by Anonymousreply 449August 26, 2023 9:02 AM

449, I loathe Novak, but he's not just the leader in Slams. He's the leader in weeks number one (by a ton), Masters (he's won each at least twice), he's won each Slam three times and has 6 WTF. He has a winning record against Fed and (barely) Rafa.

It's Novak number one. Rafa two. Fed three.

by Anonymousreply 450August 26, 2023 9:11 AM

Er, R449 ^^^

by Anonymousreply 451August 26, 2023 9:11 AM

r451, yes I get all of that, I understand numbers, but my point is that you can't establish a GOAT. What do you do with players like Tilden, Budge, Laver (2 whole CYGS, one as an amateur, one as a pro, with five years from 1965 to 1968 where he wasn't allowed to play a single GS), or players who played before modern travel made it possible to travel regularly and easily between Europe, the US, and Australia, or players who had no access to the science and technology that's turned tennis players into specialised machines, or players who played on non-homogenized surfaces?

My point isn't that you can't point to numbers to say that Djokovic, Rafa, and Federer should be 1, 2, and 3 respectively and in reference to each other; my point is that GOAT-ness is impossible to determine. It's the "Of All Time" bit that short-circuits the whole debate.

Instead he should be doing more ads for Calvin Klein.

by Anonymousreply 454August 26, 2023 12:26 PM

I’ve been disgusted by/ disappointed in Djokovic’s behavior these past few years (exception: Wimbledon this year) but it’s pretty clear he’s going to go down as the winningest player of all time (at least for now) and overall standard-bearer. Call it what you want but to many that’s a variation on GOAT.

Federer’s game has a more conventional beauty and ease so he will go down as one of the greats. He’s the Wimbledon tradition come back to life.

Let’s be clear on a geographic bias: a Serbian is not going to be as marketable as a mainland European. That’s even with personalities aside. It’s lie, you Evert was much (much) more marketable than Martina N.

by Anonymousreply 455August 26, 2023 1:56 PM

by Anonymousreply 461August 26, 2023 3:58 PM

Lehecka Team or Lil' Sebastian Team?

I have to say, I'm split down the middle on this one. Both represent the two types of player I love to watch: Lehecka - tall, athletic, stylish forehand; Baez - punchy, lightning quick, great at improvisation.

by Anonymousreply 462August 26, 2023 4:00 PM

Baez team.

R452, I get why you can't compare Tilden to Open Era players. It does get tricky and is often futile.

But you can compare Novak, Rafa, and Fed. They played against one another for most of their careers. Same tournaments. Same surfaces. Same access to airfare. Over and over. It's definitely Novak, Rafa, then Fed.

(And I think when three players have more Slams (the gold standard metric for greatness in tennis since the Open Era began) have far and away more Slams than the fourth player on the list? I think it's safe to consider them the greatest of all time. Certainly Pete, Borg and Laver are in the conversation too.)

Baez is an iron man, wow! Really long match with Porna last night.

I think Carlos is appealing, fun, sweet, but not sexy. He's too much of a little boy still, same with Rune. I think Carlos probably has a fat uncut cock, but he prob doesn't really know what to do with it. And Rune is a bottom, so there you go.

Now Ruud feels much more mature to me, physically, emotionally, and sexually. I think he's extremely sexy.

by Anonymousreply 498August 26, 2023 11:37 PM

Rune made stupid comments when he was young, forgive him. He is cute, but he's also not Carlos and won't emerge as Carlos's true challenger for the next 10 years if he doesn't get more fit. Supposed back injury means he won't go far at USO.

Badosa out helps Lady Venus.

by Anonymousreply 506August 27, 2023 1:38 AM

It's more than just stupid comments, R506,and it's ongoing. He goes apoplectic on the court and becomes everyone's worst enemy, including himself.

Get over yourself R507. Not everyone is a supposed saint like Fed or Rafa. You would have hated the 70's and the worst shit Nastase pulled. He tanked matches, to the point of swinging and missing balls right in front of him. Somehow we forgave him. It's part of the game, and it would be very BORING with no villains. But hey, go watch an Iga Swiatek match and hopefully you'll fall asleep fast.

by Anonymousreply 511August 27, 2023 2:28 AM

Why do you get so irked when Rune's behavior is called out, R511? Then you go on the attack. Hmmmm, sounds familiar.

I don't mind a good villain. Medvedev is droll and entertaining. McEnroe could be witty and articulate. Connors and Nastase were just stupid and obnoxious.

by Anonymousreply 512August 27, 2023 2:39 AM

I think being a brat is part of Rune's makeup.

R545 - too much Dennis the Menace and not enough Tay Tay. Who looked pretty downcast. He's lost his mojo. Or never had it? Several so-called greats of this era don't seem all that talented to me - not just Fritz, but Ruud? He often just seems to just float the ball back to his opponents instead of whacking it good. And Tsitsipas' backhand sucks. FAA? What did he ever do well?

I really do hate Djoko and I'm very suspicious of his tonics and breaks to the bathroom, then he comes back mysteriously refreshed. But I have to admit he's been looking miles better than the rest. Alcaraz and esp Rune seem to run hot and cold but maybe that's part of youth. And Tay Tay moves awkwardly or stiffly or something. Just so many duds.

BJK is more complex than Novak. She's a saint now, but her in day, what a bitch. The whole tale of the start of women's pro tennis owes a ton to her star power, and calling out the national federations. Unfortunately tennis is not for the masses anymore in the USA. It's priced out of control, from balls to rackets to just buying a ticket to a big event. It doesn't need to be in country clubs anymore, but it needs BJK to play along, and she does. For the money. The fact that something as basic as Pickle Ball exists, and people flock to that sport, speaks volumes.

"I can't believe that punk Rune is number 4 seed. Is he really that good? what weapons does he have?"

It's a moot point now. He's out.

Plus, players are seeded based on ranking. He's seeded 4 based on his ranking, not on the presence or absence of weapons.

by Anonymousreply 592August 28, 2023 11:09 PM

The Rune quarter is a big opportunity for anyone who wants to take it and make a run to the SFs. Just a few:

Ruud - who seems to alternate between losing early in Slams and making the final. Has runner up points to defend.

Tiafoe - who as SF points to defend and is always energized in NYC, but who has been fairly "meh" most of the season.

Thiem - trying to resurrect his career.

Shelton - who's been really average after his breakout QF in Australia

Mannarino - who's never made a super deep Slam run

AFD - who often shows a higher gear, but then always seems to downshift within the match or between matches and who also has never had a really deep Slam run.

by Anonymousreply 593August 28, 2023 11:14 PM

FAA - still lost. Confidence in crunch time.

by Anonymousreply 594August 28, 2023 11:17 PM

Novak haters - a player he's 0-2 aganist, Jiri Vessely looms in the 3rd round.

by Anonymousreply 595August 28, 2023 11:22 PM

That'll teach punk Rune to complain about not having the choice court. Ha ha Holger. You didn't deserve it!

by Anonymousreply 596August 28, 2023 11:25 PM

I'm sure other players have gotten pissy about court assignment, but they let it go. Rune totally seems like the type who would let it bother him the entire match, leading into him semi-tanking because he's upset.
