I tried watching this show from the beginning recently, wanting to see what all the fuss was about and hoping to like it. Not to say I hated it, but after several episodes I just didn’t go on. Joe is just so so very pretty, and it really is the best way to describe him. Soft, even? which is contradictory to how he can come across in pics. Patrick is really fucking hot. Will strolled in pretty late with his sis and went straight to the private area so I didn’t see much of him until the ceremony and a little at reception. While I’m sure the comparison does effect Joe some and the online hate definitely effects Joe, I honestly think we care a lot more about these numbers than either Joe or Kit. Their both very humble, and Joe has spoken multiple times about how lucky he feels and how hard it is for people from IOM to actually make it as actors.

HS and Agatha are both largely ensemble shows where Joe clearly cares deeply for the actors playing supporting roles. The Agatha cast is filled with now established stars who all started their careers as supporting actors. Joe knows he’s lucky and doing very well by every metric (except sm engagement when compared directly to Kit).

I’m sure Bash was jealous of Joe’s success. But for the two years they dated I doubt Joe ever consciously thought of himself as “better” than Bash. While he clearly knows he’s more successful, I think Joe would probably sight luck as a huge factor for why he’s currently more successful than HS supporting cast members. If Joe is able to think of Tobie as one of his best friends without any jealousy or judgement, why does he need to be jealous of Kit.

Sorry to bring back the previous Bash conversation, but time zones. I agree with R566. I’ve actually thought for awhile that Bash was extremely manipulative. Joe was similar to Charlie, in that he valued his partners happiness above his own. But unlike Nick, Bash exploited this. At the time they broke up, I think Joe actually believed he’d wronged Bash. Bash clearly still thinks that.

At first, Joe probably didn’t give any details about the breakup, except very generic “we grew apart” type comments. If in one of his recent hangouts with the cast Joe explained what he did wrong and why Bash’s anger is justified, his friends probably saw through the billlshit pretty fast.
