Don't get me wrong, Ben was a dickhead to Charlie, but at least some of it was arguably due to homophobia. He said himself he couldn't come out to his parents and that suppression can have an impact on a person. As with many similar storylines in fiction, the true villain is homophobia. After all, if there was no stigma to homosexuality, Ben would have had no issue coming out and wouldn't have had to internalise/suppress his true feelings, hence he likely wouldn't have acted the way he did.

The message should be: Here's the awful impact homophobia can have on a person and how that person can then negatively impact others.

Whereas it felt the message was: This person is awful and irredeemable. You should write them off for the rest of their life, even if they recognise and acknowledge what they did was wrong and apologise profusely for it.

Regarding s3, I actually just reread volume 4. The majority of the book is before Charlie goes to hospital. My guess is that won’t actually happen until episode 5 or 6 in s3. In the books the hospital part is told from Nick’s POV in the form of diary entries. Then Charlie’s continued recovery after he leaves hospital is again told in the form of diary entries but this time from Charlie’s POV. The journal entries work in a comic but will obviously be changed to actual scenes in the show. My prediction is Charlie will be in hospital for one or two episodes max and a lot of that episode will be Nick and Tori visiting Charlie as well as all the supporting cast putting their own problems into new perspective and trying to figure out how to support Charlie.

Using August 1 in the attached screenshot, Kit has gained 480,599 followers. Joe has gained 289,539. Prior to the show coming out joe had 71% of Kit’s following. Now he has 70% of kits following, but in terms of new followers, has only gained 60% of the followers Kit has since the show came out, so that disparity will likely continue to grow. Wouldn’t be a total shock if by end of September or so he’s dropped to only 2/3 of kits following, so the 4 million/6 million number discussed. Happy for Kit but extremely disappointed that in a season where joe stepped it the fuck acting wise and was kits equal this happens.

The difference used to be 1.4 million and now it's 1.6, so yeah not great.
