by Anonymousreply 3July 26, 2023 5:59 PM

Nooooooo!!!

by Anonymousreply 4July 26, 2023 5:59 PM

So ready for all the Yassss Kweeens to act like they were her biggest fans for social media clout

by Anonymousreply 5July 26, 2023 6:00 PM

But is she really DEAD to US?

by Anonymousreply 6July 26, 2023 6:06 PM

There is no other TROYYYYYYYYYYYY

AOOOOWWWWWW

by Anonymousreply 7July 26, 2023 6:06 PM

The other thread is dead R1

by Anonymousreply 8July 26, 2023 6:07 PM

Moving back to London, got in with old friends again. Probably drugs.

by Anonymousreply 9July 26, 2023 6:08 PM

She was vaccinated wasn't she?

by Anonymousreply 10July 26, 2023 6:10 PM

Ack! All the flowers in the back yard just died!

by Anonymousreply 11July 26, 2023 6:18 PM

She’s finally at peace.

by Anonymousreply 12July 26, 2023 6:19 PM

Did her mother really sexually abuse poor Sinead? Did she ever go into detail about that. I find this hard to believe given Sinead seemed mentally unstable

by Anonymousreply 13July 26, 2023 6:23 PM

RIP

by Anonymousreply 14July 26, 2023 6:23 PM

R13 all the more reason it was true

by Anonymousreply 15July 26, 2023 6:24 PM

The mom broke Sinead.

by Anonymousreply 16July 26, 2023 6:26 PM

I hope she’s at peace, finally. If there’s any afterlife may she be reunited with her beloved son.

by Anonymousreply 17July 26, 2023 6:39 PM

She was active on social media up to a few days ago? How did she die?

by Anonymousreply 18July 26, 2023 6:48 PM

Sad to hear. Mental health is such a bitch. Hope she rests easy now.

by Anonymousreply 19July 26, 2023 6:53 PM

Well, I guess I'm in the minority here (and the other incorrectly titled thread that has many more replies). I saw the announcement and my first thought was, "huh? I thought she was already dead." I looked carefully at the post looking for a date, thinking it would say 2022 or 2021, but I was wrong.

Between the two DL threads, she's apparently a goddess, so I'll hold my tongue, but wow, I thought she was dead ages ago.

by Anonymousreply 20July 26, 2023 9:04 PM

Did you mix her up with Dolores o'Riordan R20?

by Anonymousreply 21July 26, 2023 9:09 PM

Similar to when Amy Winehouse (RIP)passed, people were like huh? Didn't she already die.

by Anonymousreply 22July 26, 2023 9:09 PM

Dolores o Riordan died???

by Anonymousreply 23July 26, 2023 9:11 PM

I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant, but my Sinead can’t! WHY, WHY, WHY!

by Anonymousreply 24July 26, 2023 9:14 PM

Suddenly everyone on social media has been a Sinead fan since they were in the womb

by Anonymousreply 25July 26, 2023 9:24 PM

R25 which for most of them means "Oh I heard Nothing Compares 2 U once so I'm a big fan!"

Another chunk of fans probably remember her from her first two albums, maybe her collaboration with the Edge, but think she hasn't made anything else since then.

I wonder if she committed suicide or if it was from addiction problems (don't know if she had any). Family gave no cause of death.

She said on Oprah she was bipolar.

by Anonymousreply 28July 26, 2023 11:32 PM

What was on her playlist?

by Anonymousreply 29July 26, 2023 11:39 PM

I heard “Haunted” earlier today, her duet with Shane MacGowan. Great song..thought for sure he’d go first.

by Anonymousreply 30July 27, 2023 12:14 AM

R3 the other one is much better

by Anonymousreply 31July 27, 2023 12:16 AM

The other one is improperly captioned.

by Anonymousreply 32July 27, 2023 1:30 AM

the last I heard f her years ago she was living in a motel in Bergen County NJ near the GWB

by Anonymousreply 33July 27, 2023 2:55 AM

Her first song, many years ago.....stunning even then

It's so fucking weird that Shane fucking McGowan, the most strung out drunk and addict that ever lived, has outlived both Kirsty MacColl AND Sinead.

🎶🎵 All the flowers that you planted mama In the back yard All died when you went away I know that living with you baby was sometimes hard But I'm willing to give it another try tune 🎶

Sinead sang the shit out of these few lines . This song takes me back and I remember exactly where I was when I first heard it. RIP Sinead.

by Anonymousreply 36July 27, 2023 5:40 PM

There’s a hell of a lot of competition going on in terms of “No, I’m the one who really understood her” when you check out the celeb In Memoriams on social media.

by Anonymousreply 37July 27, 2023 6:50 PM

We’re hearing ‘genius’ and other kinds of hyperbole in the obits but she could sometimes really take the piss with her songwriting - this one makes kumbaya sound sophisticated. Can you imagine how piss-easy it must have been to write?

[Quote] Can you imagine how piss-easy it must have been to write?

Depends which substance cowrote it

by Anonymousreply 39July 27, 2023 10:11 PM

she lived considerably longer than Janis, Jimmie, Jim, Elvis. Amy . . .

by Anonymousreply 40July 27, 2023 10:20 PM

Thank You For Hearing Me is a beautiful song.

by Anonymousreply 41July 27, 2023 10:23 PM

I generally think Morrissey is a insufferable cunt but he isn't wrong here.

Faith and Courage is a bit poppy but in some ways is my favorite to listen to beginning to end.

The police say her death is not suspicious. No shit! It was belated.

R42 One of Morrissey’s problems is what a useless prose stylist he is. It’s just unreadable - marked by the most juvenile ideas about writing, including that alliteration for its own sake (“fawning fops”) is a clever rhetorical device.

by Anonymousreply 49July 28, 2023 8:09 AM

She lived.

She took up space.

She was bald.

by Anonymousreply 50July 28, 2023 9:43 PM

I am

STRETCHED

on her

GRAVE!

by Anonymousreply 51July 28, 2023 9:47 PM

Karen Finley, who unleashed a memorable - and truly twisted - spoken word rant on the remix of "Jump in the River," had this to say:

[quote] Sinead O’Connor. You are with the angels now. You gave so much with your voice and bringing awareness to so many issues. I was blessed to have collaborated and spend time with Sinead many moons ago. She was brilliant, astute, a staunch feminist, spiritual, humorous, feisty, vulnerable, and generous. And political! Thank you Sinead all that you gave me. All my love to her many friends, fans and family.

by Anonymousreply 52July 29, 2023 1:50 AM

If you have not had the, um, pleasure of hearing Karen Finley on this Sinead track, here you go. The insanity starts at around 4:15, when Finley starts making ungodly noises....

If I could have asked Sinead to do one thing, it would have been to work on her phrasing. There are phrases in every song that should never be interrupted by a breath. It’s sloppy. For example, here: “Sleep in [in-breath] heavenly peace”. No!
