It premiered Friday.
Yes, and the premiere was a charming as any episode in the first season. Elizabeth Perkins as a shipping magnate is a great addition to the cast. Great start.

Minx is fabulous!
by Anonymous | reply 2 | July 25, 2023 5:23 AM |
R2 I found season 1 kinda of ridiculous
by Anonymous | reply 3 | July 25, 2023 10:24 PM |
Elizabeth is very much like Constance in that she suffers no fools. Has a very dry sense of humor.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 4, 2023 12:21 AM |
Still lots of rubber dicks?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 4, 2023 12:27 AM |
Season 2 has been great. I’m enjoying it a lot, unlike season 1. I didn’t care for season 1 at all. It was cheap and cringey. This season actually feels like a real show.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 4, 2023 1:35 AM |
The best thing about Elizabeth Perkins is her voice. I just can’t get enough.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | August 4, 2023 5:59 AM |
Oh man. I don't have Starz. I really liked season one.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 4, 2023 7:04 AM |
R6 I’m not noticing a huge difference in tone. There was a little more nudity as they were starting the magazine and figuring out things.
But the characters and drama are all the same.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 4, 2023 8:00 AM |
I’m sure all 10 people who subscribe to Starz are thrilled.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 4, 2023 8:03 AM |
R10 I subscribed to Starz just for season 2 of Minx so I’m sure others have done the same.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 4, 2023 8:04 AM |
Is there any other way to watch other than to subscribe with Starz?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 4, 2023 8:12 AM |
R9 the tone is nothing the same. The writing is much better in season 2.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 4, 2023 12:56 PM |
Our "Jesus'" in the "pieta " dick was real.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 4, 2023 4:25 PM |
I continue to watch but the lead actress just doesn't do it for me. I don't find her sympathetic at all and she is annoying as fuck.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 11, 2023 2:19 PM |
R15 she’s actually my favorite part.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | August 11, 2023 2:23 PM |
I wish they would use men who are not afraid to show off their real cocks, balls and bushes instead of the prosthetics. If Playgirl could find hundreds of men who were willing to get fully naked, Minx could do the same, even in today’s world of manscaping. If you wanted the opportunity to be on a show, you’d be willing to grow your bush out for the role.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 13, 2023 11:16 AM |
R17 there are a few instances of prosthetics but most of the men are showing real cock.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 13, 2023 1:04 PM |
Love that one of the leads of Red White and Royal Blue is in the opener for Season 2. Full frontal, but that HAS to be a fake dick.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 13, 2023 1:14 PM |
R18 that’s actually false. But they intentionally use prosthetics.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 13, 2023 7:52 PM |
R19 where have you been? Of course it’s fake
by Anonymous | reply 21 | August 13, 2023 7:53 PM |
I'm enjoying it.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 17, 2023 3:39 PM |
Who's her rockstar boyfriend?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 17, 2023 3:43 PM |
I like that it's breezy summer viewing. Yes, everyone on the show is experiencing challenges, but the drama isn't suffocating.
I'm about to start the last season of Physical and hopefully it has that same lighter vibe.

r23: Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 17, 2023 3:47 PM |
r23 He's credited just as "Graham". As for the actor, his name is Guy Burnett. Used to play a gay on Hollyoaks.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 17, 2023 3:47 PM |
I have a feeling Doug (Jake Johnson) will be coerced into being a full-frontal centerfold in Minx magazine next year.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 18, 2023 2:38 AM |
Lmao no one wants him to be a model.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 18, 2023 3:05 AM |
R29 I do
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 18, 2023 3:23 AM |
I would have no problem seeing Jake Johnson full-frontal nude. Just the idea makes me hard.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | August 19, 2023 1:56 AM |
I just caught up. R28 what is giving you that “feeling”? There has been zero implications or hints toward him being in Minx. He isn’t even what they would go for in the magazine. Sounds like someone is sitting around making up stuff.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 19, 2023 6:22 PM |
Beware of intelligent wealthy widows.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 19, 2023 11:03 PM |
Constance and Tina have manhandled him this year. He's bowed down to both of them. Who knows if a centerfold isn't a topic for next season?
I think it would be ironic for a man that's been peddling porn his entire career.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | August 20, 2023 12:44 AM |
He isn’t the type they would put in the magazine. What show are you watching? He works for the magazine. R34 is watching a unique version he created in his mind while sitting on his moms couch.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 20, 2023 12:56 AM |
The heroine seems to be aiming for Tina Fey but settling for that girl in the lady wrestling show.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | August 20, 2023 1:20 AM |
Bambi's M*A*S*H joke almost ended me. The BJK lesbian references were hilarious as well.
The two douchebros with their dicks stuck in tennis rackets were obnoxious, but cute.

This show is even worse than the show it copied
The Deuce
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 20, 2023 1:54 PM |
I’m enjoying it but everything about this show is so ridiculous. None of it believable or realistic.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 20, 2023 2:00 PM |
It's a slightly heightened reality where people from the margins are in their own little bubble, thriving. Obviously in the real world at that time they'd get pounded into the dirt every week, but I'm not interested in watching that, we all know how bad shit used to be.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 20, 2023 2:16 PM |
You're looking for realism on a TV comedy?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 20, 2023 2:19 PM |
I liked the first season and I’m loving this second season. They really hit their stride. Ophelia Lovibond (tremendous name) is actually channeling Diane Chambers and she’s nailing it.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 20, 2023 2:25 PM |
I tried watching ep 1 after skimming this thread. It feels like a live action cartoon
by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 20, 2023 2:25 PM |
R43 it is pretty much. It’s very animated and not realistic. They tried selling it as a story inspired by Playgirl but none of it is similar to Playgirl, especially how embraced the magazine is by the public, with the creator some feminist icon and always being invited to these massive events and tv interviews etc. all the women are running the show while the man is an idiot and constantly getting the short end of the stick. The POC are the most respected. It’s all a fairytale.
I get people want escapism but I do like a sense of realism in time period pieces.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 20, 2023 5:07 PM |
Are they showing dongs again this season?
by Anonymous | reply 45 | August 25, 2023 8:20 PM |
A compilation of Taylor Zakhar Perez's full-frontal scenes.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | August 25, 2023 10:15 PM |
I liked the 1985 album from Toyah titled Minx. “Don’t Fall In Love (I Said)” was my jam as a kid. The video is all kinds of awesome! Toyah in a German forest, during the night, in November. She was freezing but stayed on point for the video clip.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | August 25, 2023 10:25 PM |
R46 thanks for showing us the prosthetic he used.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | August 25, 2023 10:37 PM |
It's undeniably a prosthetic. Why couldn't they find men who were willing to go full-frontal and grow their bushes out if need be? It's lame.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | August 25, 2023 11:09 PM |
Because they needed men with massive dicks too
by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 25, 2023 11:13 PM |
They are out there, R50. Fassbender ring a bell?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | August 25, 2023 11:30 PM |
You think Fassbender is gonna guest star in a show like this r51? Lmao
by Anonymous | reply 52 | August 25, 2023 11:31 PM |
I love that we still have a Toyah troll and that it showed up here, of all places.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | August 26, 2023 12:07 AM |
The point is, there are many men who have no problem showing an extra long penis and/or an extra large bush. Not Fassbender, specifically. There is no reason prosthetics are needed when there are many actors on Broadway, TV and film who have no qualms about showing it all.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | August 26, 2023 4:37 AM |
R54 You rang?
by Anonymous | reply 55 | August 26, 2023 2:43 PM |
Actually, most male actors don’t do full frontal nor are they willing. And the execs want prosthetics used. Exploiting actors like that would cause as much an issue as Sam Levinson is facing now after The Idol and Euphoria season 2.
If seeing dick is that important to you just watch porn or use google. This is a scripted series. Not a porno b
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 26, 2023 2:51 PM |
Jesse Williams did full frontal on Broadway and didn’t like that it was filmed.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | August 26, 2023 2:51 PM |
What an awesome episode this week, the writing on this show is so fucking good. How satisfying was seeing Joyce get taken down a peg by her peers and her sis? Years and years of playing side characters and now Lennon Parham finally gets to shine, love that for her.
Richie's clinical "this isn't a family, it's just a workplace" said to Bambi to whom this community means everything was so good. It wasn't meant to be mean, it's just that he compartmentalises his life differently than she does.
Man, there's so much trash on TV and this gets cancelled after two seasons? It's fucking GLOW all over again.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | August 26, 2023 3:33 PM |
Never mind, I just remembered this got picked up at Starz. Yay!
by Anonymous | reply 59 | August 26, 2023 3:37 PM |
Season 2 has been a letdown in my opinion. I’m not really interested in most of the storylines and the characters have gotten actively annoying.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 1, 2023 10:38 PM |
R58, it certainly is like fucking GLOW all over again, but you say that like it’s a good thing. MINX wants to be GLOW in the worst way, which is exactly what it is, a pale, imitative, incoherent knockoff.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 2, 2023 2:12 AM |
GLOW was about wrestling.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | September 2, 2023 2:13 AM |
Another awesome episode. Just the perfect mix of comedy and drama, I really don't know what r61 is smoking.
Love that the bathhouse wasn't just used/exploited for a photo shoot, but that Richie caught the police raid on camera as well. Something tells me Joyce still won't let him run that story.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | September 5, 2023 3:18 PM |
r42 nice observation
by Anonymous | reply 64 | September 5, 2023 4:17 PM |
I think the bathhouse is going to be Ritchie's Stonewall.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | September 6, 2023 12:44 AM |
I enjoyed the first season, but I’m not loving this second season and I’m not sure why.
Maybe because this season is all about shitting on the Jake Johnson character and he’s the only attractive actor on the show? I’m waiting for him to show his ass or a pair of hairy legs at least?
The female enpowerment theme, while apropos, is getting too earnest and they’re stinting on the laughs. And Elizabeth Perkins — who I usully like — is an energy suck. She has the wrong comic energy for this series and for “After Party” too.
by Anonymous | reply 66 | September 6, 2023 3:08 AM |
The female empowerment movement in the 70s was a major them in society. I remember Helen Gurley Brown and the ERA and "woman power" marches and Ms. magazine. Playgirl magazine was started as a female equivalent of Playboy. Women wanted to see naked men, too.
I feel that era in Minx. Women asserted themselves in a big way then. They were going to be meek no more. It's one of the things I enjoy about the show, I am reminded of the earnestness of the time.
When they ended up not having a centerfold in the most recent issue, I really thought they were going to force Jake to do it.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | September 6, 2023 3:58 AM |
Great season finale, can't wait for the next one, it's the perfect summer watch. I admit I never thought much of Elizabeth Perkins, but she was a delicious villain and I'm glad she wasn't written off. That getup when she plays Jake like a fiddle was insane – the hair, the huge pearl earrings, the black widow dress... Also, I did not see the homophobia coming at all, though I don't know why I was surprised.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | September 10, 2023 11:02 AM |
R48, she was very very loosely based on Anita Bryant.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | September 10, 2023 4:47 PM |
Are you sure? The hair and the homophobia are about the only things I can see the two having in common.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | September 10, 2023 5:00 PM |
Yes, I worked on it and that is what they told us. Hence the very very loosely.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | September 10, 2023 11:46 PM |
Playgirl was not run by homophobic people, but they realized the societal implications if they admitted they were drawing a large gay audience. We gay people weren't exactly welcomed or tolerated by society at the time.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | September 11, 2023 12:15 AM |
When I was a child in the early 70s, my gym teacher called me "you little faggot" for two years. I didn't tell my parents. I was afraid what they would think if I came out to them.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | September 11, 2023 12:17 AM |
[quote]Hence the very very loosely.
I caught that qualifier the first time, but there's only so far you can stretch the "loose" part before it loses all meaning. There's like zero similarity between their life stories. One also led public campaigns against homosexuality, while this character just happens to be bigoted in her own private company for mostly capitalist reasons.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | September 11, 2023 3:42 AM |
r72 That PSA is from the '50s, though. Minx currently takes place around 1973, at the height of the sexual revolution. Although obviously there were counter-movements in progress already.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | September 11, 2023 3:46 AM |
The Stonewall riot occurred in 1969. Your name could be published if you were picked up in a raid of a gay bar. Things weren’t much different than in the 50s. There were tiny steps forward.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | September 11, 2023 10:51 AM |
Things were absolutely different in the '70s than they were in the '50s, Jesus Christ. Especially in the (big) cities, it was like night and day. But obviously no one is arguing that things were perfect.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | September 11, 2023 11:09 AM |
This is a model, Barry Hostetler, who was in Playgirl in 1974. Minx is trying to reflect this type of image.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | September 12, 2023 2:48 AM |
Rock Pamplin, another 70s centerfold. Again, the look. He was a Winston Man before he posed for Playgirl.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | September 12, 2023 2:49 AM |
in 1966, I remember my good looking first grade gym teacher took us into the locker room to show us how to put our clothes in the lockers. He was military at one point, crew cut with a big chest and nipples that stood out solidly against his white tee-shirt. I couldn't wait to look at him every day.
He took off his shoes and socks, and put them in the locker the "correct way". Then he took off his tee-shirt, his pants and then his boxer shorts, telling us which hook to use for each. This guy had a long, thick cock, round balls, and a large, dense dark brown bush. He stood there talking for a few moments, then he put everything back on.
I was beside myself. I couldn't think of anything else the rest of the day. Over the next couple of days, it didn't garner any attention from parents or the high school administration. They must have truly believed there were no gay boys in their school. No way!
Years later, I told my parents about it. They didn't raise alarm. They said he was a man, and we should know all men looked the same. He was just an example. I guess that was the prevailing theory among parents. I I can only imagine what a parent would do if it happened in a school today.
So, when I finally saw a Playgirl magazine, I wasn't surprised by what I saw. I wanted to take the magazine and hide it, but my fear of my parents finding out negated the thought. I couldn't bring myself to buy the magazine when I was in college, I dreaded the repercussions if anyone saw me.
My reaction to the gay community coming out scared me. I was still bullied by other students, especially fraternity men. My experience in the 70s was far from ideal. There was no way I would come out.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | September 12, 2023 3:08 AM |
Did the gym teacher then ask you if you liked gladiator movies, r80?
by Anonymous | reply 82 | September 12, 2023 11:06 AM |
He was completely comfortable standing there naked. If he was dressed as a gladiator, with the naughty bits showing, I likely would have fainted. Try explaining that to your parents...

I was rather let down with the Vegas episode.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | September 24, 2023 3:01 PM |
The cut after Bambi's Jim Jones gag had me in stitches, but I really hope they don't go down that road next season, she doesn't deserve that.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | September 24, 2023 4:23 PM |
If she does, she'll get out of it-she's like a cat, lands on her feet. Didn't she mention (it was an off the cuff remark) she was involved in a cult previously in the season?
by Anonymous | reply 86 | September 24, 2023 6:05 PM |
The last few episodes were great! I loved how they all stocked it to Constance…well, Doug did literally.
Also, the bath house police raid exposé was poignant and tastefully done.
I hope Lennon Parham wins an award for her work in this. She makes the show.

by Anonymous | reply 88 | September 30, 2023 12:30 AM |
