You try, OP

Skin the enviro terrorist and make a coat out of its skin.

by Anonymousreply 2August 17, 2023 3:01 AM

I suppose it's not going to hurt anything in Wisconsin but they're still vermin-adjacent as far as I'm concerned.

Ferrets with better fur coats.

by Anonymousreply 3August 17, 2023 3:20 AM

🤷‍♂️

by Anonymousreply 4August 17, 2023 3:27 AM

Team Mink!

by Anonymousreply 5August 17, 2023 3:30 AM

Run, my babies. Run!

by Anonymousreply 6August 17, 2023 3:31 AM

I always found Mink Stole hot in the early Waters movies.

by Anonymousreply 7August 17, 2023 5:14 AM

Someone should release the foxes kept in small cages for fur and breeding. I love foxes 🦊!

by Anonymousreply 8August 17, 2023 5:18 AM

HERO, Now he/she/they/them needs to release the Owls, coyotes and black bears so he/she/they/them doesn't cause a Natural disaster!

by Anonymousreply 9August 17, 2023 5:19 AM

Oh wow. That's so weird. Who would do such a thing?

by Anonymousreply 10August 17, 2023 5:34 AM

[quote] Someone should release the foxes kept in small cages for fur and breeding.

Ok, I’ll get right on that.

by Anonymousreply 11August 17, 2023 5:35 AM

What becomes a mink most?

by Anonymousreply 12August 17, 2023 6:51 AM

Minks are native to Wisconsin (and most of North America except for the desert areas). They are not endangered in any way. Those escapees will do just fine.

by Anonymousreply 13August 17, 2023 7:45 AM

These animals were born and raised in captivity for generations.

Released into the "wild" only dooms them to starvation, predation and likely road kill.

Well intended but not well thought out.

by Anonymousreply 14August 17, 2023 12:01 PM

I used to see wild mink in an office park I used to work. They smell bad, they are afraid of NOTHING, and are compelling to watch. I spent a lunch break once watching a mama mink swim away from her den, grab an animal (crayfish, frog, baby turtle) and bring it back to the den for her babies, and repeat. It was impressive. Then she saw me and chased me the fuck out of there.

by Anonymousreply 15August 17, 2023 12:17 PM

Is there still a market for fur?

by Anonymousreply 16August 17, 2023 12:20 PM

Even if minks are native to Wisconsin, releasing 3000 of them that were born in captivity is a stupid idea.

As r15 notes, they are NOT cuddly and cute animals.

by Anonymousreply 17August 17, 2023 12:21 PM

The next Pixar movie?

by Anonymousreply 18August 17, 2023 12:23 PM

[quote] Released into the "wild" only dooms them to starvation, predation and likely road kill.

That’s nonsense. Weasels, ferrets etc are so active and aggressive, even the ones raised in captivity will immediately pounce on prey. While it might be more challenging for them than a wild born minx, they’ll be fine.

There are actually feral populations of mink along the waters of Europe. They’re not native to Europe. So these are releases or escapees. If they’re helpless if human raised, how did they establish themselves in Europe?

by Anonymousreply 19August 17, 2023 12:33 PM

Would 3000 extra mink and their offspring (and theirs, etc.) hurt the ecosystem?

[QUOTE]Is there still a market for fur?

Good question. Over the years,, there's definitely been a noticeable drop in the number of people wearing fur. Maybe for overseas markets?

by Anonymousreply 20August 17, 2023 12:44 PM

Wow. I had no idea they were so aggressive. This guy uses the as pest control.

Releasing 3000 in a concentrated area is going to fuck up the ecosystem for a while.

Don’t they carry covid?

by Anonymousreply 22August 17, 2023 1:00 PM

What does one do with 240 disease-ridden rat corpses? Bury or burn?

by Anonymousreply 23August 17, 2023 1:02 PM

Perverted, to keep animals like this in the first place.

by Anonymousreply 24August 17, 2023 1:35 PM

First time I ever felt sorry for rats.

by Anonymousreply 25August 17, 2023 2:41 PM

I wonder if the releaser was attacked

by Anonymousreply 26August 17, 2023 3:11 PM

Saucy minks!

by Anonymousreply 27August 17, 2023 3:45 PM

R21 That guy is cute

by Anonymousreply 28August 17, 2023 4:00 PM

Dollface thread.

by Anonymousreply 29August 18, 2023 2:59 AM

Take back your mink to from whence it came!

by Anonymousreply 31August 18, 2023 3:25 AM

Good for whoever did it.

These minks were doomed. Either they stayed put and were skinned (often alive) for their pelts, or they escape into the wilderness and fend for themselves, which is probably a lot better than the former.

by Anonymousreply 32August 18, 2023 3:54 AM

I thought they didn't make mink stoles anymore?
