Will Trump be asked about E. Jean at his Town Hall?

Trump said he never met her, didn't know her, then said he met her outside Bergordorf's and went into Bloomingdales.
Trump lies all the time, everywhere all at once. His people can believe anything they WANT to believe.
He pulled out a fantasy timeline for what he did during the missing three hours on J6. Then shoved it back in his jacket. Just a bunch of new lies.

Members of the U.S. Senate need to actually help fix problems such as the decades-long issues at the border. Miss Lindz running her mouth on Fox daily and name-calling, is not a solution for a damn thing.
Baghdad Majorkas? LG can be nasty in multiple ways.
The Biden administration has a huge problem with growing undocumented migration. It is disturbing. But where is the Republican proposed legislation/funding to directly address it? There’s nothing offered on this front from Kevin McCarthy or Mitch McConnell or anyone in their caucuses.

by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 11, 2023 10:15 PM |
Republicans don’t want to and will never fix the immigration system. Ever. Their donors hire them for cheap labor and they can use it every single election as a wedge issue. They had two years of total control under Trump, not to mention the time under W, yet did absolutely nothing. Bipartisan immigration reform went down in defeat because of the radical righties in Congress. All Democrats want to do is treat them humanely since it is Big Business luring them over for their cheap labor.

That poor intern who got bashed by a baseball bat on her first day. Yikes!
As a former intern, I know how scary it is when you see the pure insanity from constituents. Only the most angry, insane people call or write consistently and we get to see, and respond to, that. At my congressman’s office, we had a whole file cabinet dedicated to one constituent. He wrong that much. All of his writings were the most insane things you could imagine. We had a picture of one constituent hanging up with instructions to call 911 if he showed up.

Would prosecutors be allowed to subpoena the documents, etc., in the Giuliani civil case for a potential criminal prosecution?
by Anonymous | reply 68 | May 17, 2023 4:20 PM |
^The documents should be easily accessible to anyone, yes. Nowadays discovery docs are often not included in part of the court's case file because they are too cumbersome (too much extraneous paperwork for the court clerks to keep track of), so the parties typically just exchange the evidence between themselves without involving the court (unless disputes arise, which happens a lot). But yes, an authorized investigative authority could have a subpoena issued to examine them. Simple.

Tim Scott is gay. The media would be all over him being his age, never married if he were a woman or Democrat. The media’s bias towards Democrats is thorough and deeply damaging. When I interned, everyone joked about it even the Republican interns/pages/aides. They all saw the media bias in favor of Republicans. What muddies the waters a bit is the media is socially liberal so for cultural conservatives it is liberal. However, it is fiscally conservative (extremely pro-business, pro-tax cuts for the rich) and its overall coverage pushes Republican narratives.

FCI, that’s precisely why I fear that if the debt ceiling drama ends badly, the media will blame Biden and then the people, being the usual sheep they are, will fall right in line and do so also, despite the fact it couldn’t be more obvious that this entire mess is due to the Rethugs trying to destroy our economy just for political gain. It’s all so disgusting.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | May 24, 2023 1:21 PM |
Tim Scott is an empty suit when it comes to working for South Carolina. He has mastered some verbal platitudes that attempts to imply he’s both reasonable and acceptably conservative. If he is very unlikely elected President, it may be a disaster. His leadership capability for handling the role lacks clarity. He’ll follow the “tool” mantra unwaveringly. One can’t do that 100% of the time as President.

Tim Scott is the “reasonable alternative” in turtle’s mind. A black man so the rethugs can say they aren’t racist pukes. Someone who wasn’t in the dump admin. Someone who seems “normal” compared to everyone else.
From what I understand, Scott is well liked by other Senators. He’s bland, uncontroversial and pretty unknown. Ready to step in when the two sumo wrestlers off each other.

Prosecutors in former President Donald Trump's Manhattan criminal case have released to his attorneys a recording of Trump and a witness, whose identity was not disclosed.
The document, called an automatic discovery form, describes the nature of the charges against a defendant and a broad overview of the evidence that prosecutors will present at Trump's preliminary hearing or at trial.
The document lists the dates of 34 instances between Feb. 14, 2017 and Dec. 5, 2017 when Trump allegedly falsified records.

[bold]Donald Trump Sometimes Showed Classified Docs to Mar-a-Lago Visitors, According to Witnesses[/bold]
Witnesses are telling prosecutors that Donald Trump had a habit of showing classified documents to visitors at his private Mar-a-Lago club, according to a new Washington Post report.
Sources tell the outlet that the former president — who is currently running for the office again — has been accused by witnesses of keeping classified documents in an area of his office where they were visible, at times showing them to people who visited him.
The report comes as Trump, 76, is mired in an ongoing criminal investigation by the Department of Justice into whether he violated statutes related to national security by allegedly mishandling classified documents he allegedly removed from the White House at the end of his presidency.

Lindsey is a favorite of defense contractors and the military establishment.. He is very supportive of giving Ukraine the weapons they need to battle the ongoing sinister aggression from Putin.
What is odd, is that Lindsey continues to be a very major Trump supporter, including championing Trump’s 2024 election campaign. Trump functions as a Putin asset and sycophant, while siding against Ukraine’s interests.
Does Lindsey intend to explain this?.

CNN [bold]EXCLUSIVE: Trump captured on tape talking about classified document he kept after leaving the White House[/bold]
Federal prosecutors have obtained an audio recording of a summer 2021 meeting in which former President Donald Trump acknowledges he held onto a classified Pentagon document about a potential attack on Iran, multiple sources told CNN, undercutting his argument that he declassified everything.
The recording indicates Trump understood he retained classified material after leaving the White House, according to multiple sources familiar with the investigation. On the recording, Trump’s comments suggest he would like to share the information but he’s aware of limitations on his ability post-presidency to declassify records, two of the sources said.

I want him to obsess with fear that one of his lawyers or other insiders is a ratt and is selling him out.
I want him to have the need to constantly look over his shoulder to see if the gendarmes are moving in for the final kill.
I want him to trust NO one, to fear EVERYone, to suspect those that he counts on the most, to lead him into a trap that is impossible to slither out of and away from.

The thing about Trump is that anything is possible with him. This is the man who used to call reporters and papers posing as John Barron, with the most outrageous claims about Trump. He uses paid "supporters" to fill the stands behind him at rallies. He had a stand in for Melania while POTUS so it looked like she was accompanying him on and off planes.
Others set to speak include U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lt. Gov. Burt Jones and former U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler. Kemp and other state GOP leaders, meanwhile, have quickly distanced themselves from the state party and its tilt toward a brand of hard-line, pro-Trump conservative politics. On Wednesday, Kemp said he was using his political machine to safeguard GOP legislative districts — a role the state party once routinely played. Lake embodies the GOP’s push toward the right. The thing about Trump keeping documents relating to a possible war with Iran is that it was not past tense. It was future tense. Clearly he intended to profit from it even though he was no longer POTUS. The plan of the Neo Cons, Dick Cheney's gang, as well as BeBe Netanyahu, was the invasion of Iran.
One of the reasons Cheney got Bush involved in invading Iraq was to subdue them and go into Lebanon to get to Iran. A war not limited to air and bombing. It would have to be a ground war. A mess. Bebe has done his damnedest to provoke such a war, especially by provoking Lebanon.
Which IMO begs the question of how much damage did he actually do while he was POTUS. We suspect, with very good reasons that he & JAred colluded with the Saudis. Gave up intel that got people killed in Saudi Arabia, and helped MBS to consolidate his power. And now we have MBS and Putin in bed with one another. They have gotten very close since Trump got elected.
What else? We know Trump would have sold out Zelensky and Ukraine and Zelensky knew it. Pulling out of Afghanistan happens to be the right thing to do, but Trump was engineering it for Putin. There's a lot of stuff he did to benefit Putin. If he could have he would have weakened or pulled out of NATO altogether.
Trump was Putin's errand boy and his money launderer. And Jared helped all of it happen. Bet Jared is singing like a bird for Mr. Smith.
People joke about Trump being a flight risk, but it's Jared and Ivanka who will very likely flee.

He has himself set up in some foundation in D.C. right now dedicated to get more MAGAs and insurrectionists elected. They're also buying up real estate in D.C. He should die in a grease fire.
It's been far too long since we commended the voters of Alabama for trading Doug Jones for Tommy Tuberville as that state's senior United States senator. The courageous prosecutor who beat the Klan in court was deemed less qualified to represent his state's interests than a half-bright football coach with a 7-6 lifetime record in bowl games. Since senators have a direct effect on the entire country, I don't think a week should go by without all of our thanking Alabama for visiting this goober on the rest of us. Guys like Tuberville actually admire him. Our celebrity culture is disgusting. That's what paved the way for a Trump Presidency. Reagan was a celebrity, too, obviously, and a terrible person, but at least he was elected governor, before running for POTUS. Reality tv has ruined this country. Popular entertainment now consists of watching real people behave badly. Social media has created a celebrity culture of influencers, psuedo celebrities, attention hungry fools. A large swath of this country gets its information from these sources, talk radio, etc. Education, experience, knowledge is no longer a prerequisite for candidates. The unapologetic ignorance of many candidates and elected officials is appalling. Expect more of same.

These money hungry evangelical preachers are a huge problem. They rage on the stage and behind the pulpit spewing extreme right-wing views, even hate, and also stating their political and candidate preferences. They grossly distort Christian teachings. Some black congregations have been very political on the left, but nothing as absurd as what is seen on the far right.
Tax all the churches that are politically active. It won’t happen, though. At least cable TV needs to remove such from basic packages.
Church is fine for praying, Bible study, singing hymns, fellowship, hearing music, praising the Lord, hearing sermons about parables, other scripture messaging, and lessons for living.
Endorsing and fundraising for Trump, DeSantis, Pence, and the Republican Party are not. They inject their religious doctrine into abortion laws, LGBT+ discrimination, picking judges, anti- environmental policies, etc.

An employee at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence drained the resort’s swimming pool last October and ended up flooding a room where computer servers containing surveillance video logs were kept, sources familiar with the matter told CNN.
While it’s unclear if the room was intentionally flooded or if it happened by mistake, the incident occurred amid a series of events that federal prosecutors found suspicious.

We look at the old farts who show up at Trump rallies but those aren't the only people out there and you know it. I was really disgusted by how effective the Extreme Right White supremacists have been in recruiting younger people. Yes we have Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, Boogaloos, and random militias, whose leadership we went after. But there are others. There were easily several thousands of people in D.C. for the insurrection in January. I welcome this. I want to see just how many people are still out here that will respond to a call for violence, in June in Florida. My guess is they won't be well organized. But we can also add inciting violence to Trump's charges.
J. D. Vance attacks Jack Smith and all federal employees.
Tom Nichols goes after J.D. Vance:
Vance initially tried to position himself as a reasonable man from humble origins, someone who understood the angst of rural, Forgotten-Man America.
But when you’re getting millions of dollars in support from Peter Thiel, losing to someone as off the wall as (primary opponent) Josh Mandel isn’t noble—it’s just losing. And so Vance retooled both his approach and his personality. He pledged his sword to Donald Trump, who duly endorsed him and lifted him to a win in the primary. Vance then ran as the MAGA candidate, appearing onstage with Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz and accepting their endorsements. This combination of pusillanimity and shamelessness, along with Trump’s support, helped Vance defeat the centrist Democrat Tim Ryan, and he headed back east to Washington.
Once in the Senate, Vance shed the MAGA clown costume and became a responsible center-right legislator, advancing the interests of the poor and forgotten in Ohio and … I’m kidding, of course. Vance did no such thing. What he once wore as electoral camouflage is now tattooed all over him, in yet another fulfillment of the late Kurt Vonnegut’s warning that, eventually, “we are what we pretend to be.”

by Anonymous | reply 340 | June 19, 2023 3:29 AM |
I think it's common knowledge in certain circles that Trump used to have parties at his hotel or in the buildings where he had condos for sale. He would supply the girls from his "modeling agencies" (he had two agencies) and told the girls they had to "make friends" and party with these disgusting pigs because they were influential and it would help their careers. It is during one of those parties that he allegedly rapes a 13 yr. old himself. I hope the eventually expose his human trafficking side too. Because he was up to his neck with the Russian mob.

And if they had reported on him as a monster instead of a buffoon and an entertainer who said outrageous things, we'd be in a better place. He was accused of raping a 13 yr old. They're talking to people we've never heard of, being very thorough and gradually working up to Stone, Flynn, Bannon, Eastman, Giuliani and Trump. I bet you anything, Barr knew about the scheme for the fake electors and that's why he quit. But IMO as our chief law enforcement officer (cough) he should have alerted the FBI . In fact since technically he was Chris Wray's boss, he should have issued arrest warrants.

TechCrunch: "Twitter hasn’t commented on this change, and given how sloppy the platform has been since Elon Musk’s takeover, it might just be a glitch. However, in a time when Twitter is struggling to grow its user base, it’s possible that this is a tactic to force silent lurkers into creating an account."

Crowd at Trump rally in SC persistently and loudly boos Miss Lindzey:
Crowd boos Sen. Lindsey Graham at Trump rally in SC. The crowd booed US Senator Lindsey Graham and drowned out his remarks. Graham, from nearby Oconee County, said he was going to help Trump win the 2024 general election and even pointed out that he was part of the Senate Judiciary Committee that helped bolster the Supreme Court’s conservative sheen. Despite that, the crowd remained unmoved and the booing continued.
He was joined by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, Congressman Joe Wilson and Lt. Governor Pamela Evette, among others. Trump's SC leadership team: Gov. Henry McMaster, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, Lt. Governor Pamela Evette, Congressman Joe Wilson, Congressman Russel Fry, Congressman Will Timmons, former U.S. Attorney Pete McCoy Jr. and former Lt. Governor Andre Bauer.
Marjorie Taylor Greene appears at Pickens rally: Greene arrived a little after 10 a.m. to show her support for Trump. She walked towards the crowd close to the media zone and conversed with Trump’s supporters who drove from all over the country. Pickens, she said, reminded her of her own congressional district in the southern part of Georgia.
MTG’s congressional district is in northwest Georgia. Is she that dumb not to know the general geography of the State of Georgia?

Christie helped Trump get elected. Then when it was pay-back time for Trump to give Christie a plum job, Trump, being Trump, and wanting to side with his son-in-law, reneged on Christie.
It's right up Christie's large alley to savor having a hand in putting both Dad and son in jail, or at least insinuate that Jared Kushner's deals as a WH employee bear closer scrutiny.

Manly man, Josh Hawley, on July 4th, tweeted a quote he attributed to Patrick Henry. The misattributed quote argues that America "was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians." However, it didn't come from Patrick Henry. It came from a segregationist newspaper in Virginia in 1956.
Josh Hawley is a man who needs no introduction, but the CliffsNotes, in case you’re not up on the senator from Missouri, are that he: Thinks he’s an expert on “manhood” and “masculinity” Helped spread Donald Trump’s 2020 election lies Pumped his fist in solidarity with the January 6 mob …and then fled that mob as fast as his legs could carry him Said he regretted nothing about his actions on the day the Capitol was attacked (which he claimed he has fundraised off of) Is pro-hate-crimes Joined the governor of Florida’s ridiculous war of retribution on Disney Doesn’t know how the First Amendment—or the free market? or capitalism?—works Oh, and he’s apparently also the kind of guy who uses fake quotes to make shit up about the United States’ founding to push religious propaganda. I'm not buying any of the psychobabble about Trump. For years he seems to have benefited from being underestimated. Maybe he did like to pretend. But you know what? He knew he was going to lose the election. He knew he was under performing and the polling was looking bad way back in September. He is hardwired to monetize everything. He is a grifter in his bones. So he mounted a multi layered strategy to stay in the WH. That was his priority. A close second was to see how he could still make money. He raised millions with his ranting about election fraud. But those documents were his ticket to riches. I believe he was peddling Top Secret information and he was extorting money the entire time he was in office and he intended to continue after he left. Fuck psychology, the man is a fucking criminal and a traitor.

They want a trial in December. They asked for a speedy trial. Now, IMO Smith had to know this was their tactic. Trump is nothing if not obvious. So why did he open the door? Was this bait? by Anonymous | reply 497 | July 14, 2023 9:04 PM |
R497, he won't. The GOP in Georgia is sharply...but not evenly... divided. As we all know politicians always play to their base. Raffensperger and Kemp are anti Trump. The Governor and the Secretary of State. They enjoy wide support from voters, both Republicans and independents. They're Conservatives. Big time. They seem moderate compared to the lunatics, but the Republican Party itself has been taken over by the thugs who support Trump. The Lt. Governor is an Election Denier and he supported January 6th. The Legislature is divided too. Both Kemp and the Secretary of state have had many opportunities to interfere with the 2020 election. They could really fuck with Fani Willis who is running for re-election. But they aren't. What Trump did not respect then, or now, is that hundreds of people maybe even thousands volunteered or worked temp jobs on the 2020 election, and the entire election machinery would have been disrupted if they had done what he wanted. They will not do him any favors and neither will Fani, or the state's judges.

Donald J. Trump and his allies are planning a sweeping expansion of presidential power over the machinery of government if voters return him to the White House in 2025, reshaping the structure of the executive branch to concentrate far greater authority directly in his hands.
Mr. Trump intends to bring independent agencies — like the Federal Communications Commission, which makes and enforces rules for television and internet companies, and the Federal Trade Commission, which enforces various antitrust and other consumer protection rules against businesses — under direct presidential control.
He wants to revive the practice of “impounding” funds, refusing to spend money Congress has appropriated for programs a president doesn’t like — a tactic that lawmakers banned under President Richard Nixon.
He intends to strip employment protections from tens of thousands of career civil servants, making it easier to replace them if they are deemed obstacles to his agenda. And he plans to scour the intelligence agencies, the State Department and the defense bureaucracies to remove officials he has vilified as “the sick political class that hates our country.”

I swear this is Roger Stone's playbook, R504, but even scarier, is that if we take all the laws the GOP has passed or tried to pass at the state level, and in Congress, we can see alarming similarities to Germany in the early 30's. Hitler didn't just seize power abruptly. All the horrors of Nazi Germany were laws that were enacted gradually.

by Anonymous | reply 508 | July 17, 2023 2:07 PM |
They don’t WANT it to burn up. They just don’t think it will affect them, and therefore don’t care.
by Anonymous | reply 509 | July 17, 2023 2:12 PM |
No, they are smart if they are the power behind the scene. They have scientists. That doesn't make sense.
Dee Plorable doesn't think it will affect her, but rich, powerful people know it will.

Today's rich, powerful Republicans believe the riffraff might suffer from a changing climate but their wealth and privilege will somehow shield them.
The Murdochs were first in line to get the Covid vaccine while their media empire went all in on anti-vaccine conspiracy theories. They. Don't. Care.

It's like the Titanic, R510. There are not enough life boats, so the privileged classes will be taken care of, and they may even do some genetic engineering. It's basically what corporations do, downsizing, etc. My "conspiracy theory" holds up just fine.
by Anonymous | reply 512 | July 17, 2023 3:12 PM |
I will also add that it's getting pretty obvious that our scientists and NASA are frantically looking for other planets that can sustain life. Lots going on we aren't privy to. And a lot of space exploration has been privatized. I am not a crazy person. BUt at this point, we can almost predict exactly how long it will be until our oceans die, our air becomes unbreathable and the food shortages have great impact.

There's two movies I think of when we talk about this catastrophic disaster awaiting the planet. District 9, and that Matt Damon movie, Elysium. I do believe in the future we will be sending our farmers to build structures so they'll be able to farm and even to live on other planet. Looking at the homeless situation now, it makes one wonder how many hundreds of thousands will be left homeless in the futre with Climate change. World wide famines, etc.

Here comes Tom Cottontale! Step aside manly man Josh Hawley and Miss Lindz. Lachlan Murdoch’s Fox is featuring a new darling.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-NE) on Sunday shrugged off questions about his opposition to the Pentagon paying for service members to travel to receive an abortion, smearing the policy as unlawful “abortion tourism” and insisting that women should just use some their allotted time off. On Fox News Sunday, Cotton was asked about Republicans in the House on Thursday adding several controversial amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act, including one that would nix the Pentagon’s policy of reimbursing service members for the travel costs incurred to obtain an abortion. That policy has drawn the ire of Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), who in response has been holding up hundreds of normally routine and speedy military promotions in the Senate.

Speculation around Atlanta, is that in addition to Trump, Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Sidney Powell, and Lindsey Graham will be indicted.
Mark Meadows was also significantly involved with attempts to tamper with voting results in Georgia. As with the feds, he may be cooperating with Fulton County prosecutors as part of a leniency arrangement.
Expectation is that Fani Wilson will deliver the bombshell.

Kevin McCarthy made Trump a promise last month: The House would vote to expunge the two impeachments against the former president. And — as McCarthy would communicate through aides later that same day — they would do so before August recess.

The White Supremacists hate real history. If they expunge it, they feel it never happened.
As opposed to Woke history: impeached, not removed. Impeached not removed. Republicans "expunged" the impeachments. Republicans think that expunging will alter the history. False, it only adds to it.

The Fulton county district attorney investigating Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state of Georgia has developed sufficient evidence to charge a sprawling racketeering indictment next month, according to two people briefed on the matter.
The racketeering statute in Georgia requires prosecutors to show the existence of an “enterprise” – and a pattern of racketeering activity that is predicated on at least two “qualifying” crimes.
In the Trump investigation, the Fulton county district attorney, Fani Willis, has amassed enough evidence to pursue a racketeering indictment predicated on statutes related to influencing witnesses and computer trespass, the people said.

Please don't be too hard on those of us who have "concerns." I have hated Trump for a long time. I hoped and prayed for him to get caught, get charged with crimes and brought to trial. Then Jail. I hoped Mueller would "get " him. I hoped his own party would finally "see the light." I watched him get impeached twice, but never convicted by b the partisan Senate. I've watched Merrick Garland drag his ass following the Insurrection. Trump's always been so blatant, so "in your face" with his wrong doing. Then comes Jack Smith. I'm glad. He seems different. The times are different. This time it really looks like he's goona pay. But after all we've been through, please pardon my anxieties. That's all it really is. Anxieties. It's really happening and I need to believe. I want so badly for him to go down.

This is going to be one WEIRD election year next year. Trump's going to be the Republican nominee no matter how many felonies he's charged with. Trump will be sitting and steaming in courtrooms for days at a time, then going out and holding rallies in the south in 100 degree heat and whining and insulting the judges and prosecutors and giving more and more explicit demands for his cult followers to DO SOMETHING! Crazy days ahead.

Well to all who have been ridiculing "concerns" just want to say that according to the legal experts and pundits on Twitter and on the News, "this may be just one of several postponements or delays..." Trump's attorneys have a strategy that includes delaying as much as possible. We should never assume we finally got him. He is a slippery, slimey POS. Our most important task is to make ironclad sure the Dems win in both Houses of Congress and we hold the White House. We need to get rid of the Republican majorities in our state legislatures and where ever possible in State governors and S o S. Wecan't keep playing defense and push back. We need to go on the offense at every level. Act like Republicans. Kick some ass.
