I don't understand the comments about him being underrated at all. At 17, he landed a Netflix show as one of the leads. His show got picked up for 2 more seasons (which is extremely rare with Netflix). So, he has a steady job for at least 2-3 years. He then got Agatha which is the most impressive thing he could get. Oddly, these homophobes all claim to love Kit and Heartstopper, but also want to protect Kit from Joe. Because maybe he’ll catch gay or something. This group is small, but vocal. Best to be ignored. I saw 4000 Miles tonight. He can act. It was brilliant. I hadn't planned to go (too fan girl) but then a couple of days ago I found there were a few tickets left and it's close so I went. I usually read everything in these threads before I (very rarely!) comment, but I’m budging my way in without reading everything first (apologies!) just to say that as a fan of the webcomic for years who pays little mind to the gossip (okay - perhaps a wee bit more than a little, but no more than that), I’m so very glad Joe and Kit seem to have developed a friendship, or at least a very good working relationship and have real chemistry and seemingly trust that one could see growing even throughout series one (the first kiss scene was incredible!), echoing their onscreen developing relationship, because with the stuff Charlie will be going through, I’m glad Joe has a scene partner he’ll feel comfortable with. They really lucked-out and/or chose well with the people they cast!

Joe is a natural, and Kit seems to be such an empathetic partner. Even in season one, with its sometimes clunky dialogue, I really enjoyed seeing them play off each other and seeing their relationship develop. Their chemistry really made the show. 🤷🏻

From the reviews I've seen the negatives come from the staging and directing as opposed to the acting, they all seem to gush over Bash and Eileen as actors which is great to see

this review is nice. There's a few others that basically like the play a lot more than some of the other reviews. All of them really praise the actors, Bash and Eileen Atkins espeically.

Telegraph review isn't great. They seem upset no Timmy and say Bash is not hormonal enough and too contained and clean-cut. And Atikin is missing humor in her performance and her accent isn't great. Though they recommend going to see it.

That's the only semi-negative one I've seen.

Spoke too soon, this one is really negative. They really need to do away with the prop re-arranging for no reason since I've seen a few reviews complain about that.

I think Joe's not great at non-choregraphed dancing, but it seems like he did a fair bit of dancing in theatre growing up so he obviously isn't terrible. There's that video from a few years ago of a Singing in the Rain production on the IOM where you can see him dancing in the background - he seems okay.

Really hope we get some behind the scenes stuff of Joe and Kit being taught some steps, that would be gold.

Of the four, I think Kit and Joe are probably the ones that would have struggled the least given the random bits we’ve seen of them performing choreography as kids. And Kit seems like he has natural rhythm despite the dad moves he defaults to.
