I remember a while back, I posted a comment expressing concern for Kit after the Twitter debacle, when the thread was specifically speaking about Kit, and someone immediately responded to say 'it's interesting how you're worried about Kit and I don't see any concern for Joe'. My posts are about double the length I’d like because I’m just trying to be part of a chat without being screeched at (I.e. Honestly I have sympathy for both sets of stans on here. Flip side before Kit came out, DL specifically was EXTREMELY mean about him to the point of basically rooting against him, and he did give a genuinely great performance S1 so I get them being a bit defensive. But I think we all need to err on the side of not being insane on here - yes, if (as in a recent thread) someone announces apropos of nothing that they find Joe Below average looking or someone goes off about how they think Kit is a terrible person, feel free to go at them but overall I think far far fewer comments are meant badly than are taken badly on these threads.

This isn’t a positive or negative about either Joe or Kit but they have very different colouring, I think it’s extremely difficult to find lighting that’s equally flattering for both. Some of their joint shoots I’ve thought Kit looked washed out; in the show I thought the lighting flattered him way more than Joe. Funnily enough it’s in fan photos I’ve often found the lighting to be pretty good for both, probably because the photos are lower quality

Since people have mentioned YR, I do find it weird that they don’t have their own thread. I think there was a YR thread when the show first came out but there was never enough discussion for it to spill over into a second thread. Shadow and Bones new season has a cute gay love story side plot that’s never been discussed on DL. I’m not a big enough fan of these shows to bother starting a thread, but I’d probably read threads on these other shows. I mainly read these threads because the DL detectives are great and finding info that isn’t readily available in other places, and some of the discussions are funny. But lately it seems like half the comments in these threads have been people clarifying and defending themselves against some perceived insult or misunderstanding. Can we all just chill out and accept that in a discussion not everyone is going to agree on everything. 99% of the comments in these threads are very polite, there is no reason for anyone to get defensive. And not needing to explain/clarify/apologize about nothing will drastically slow down how quickly we burn through these treads.

Maybe I’m just overly hopeful for Joe but I think Agatha has the potential to be zeitgeisty and fun in a way a lot of marvel isn’t. A lot of my friends who have very little interest in Marvel (despite liking Cumberbatch from Sherlock, ignored Strange, never bothered with Shang Chi, etc) liked WandaVision in large part because of the camp and strangeness. The Marvel diehards who watch every show will watch it regardless plus the girls and the gays who like the camp of it all. Aside from insane homophobes who would always boycott wiccan and probably already disliked wandavision, I think the viewership will be good.

I also think “acting arc” wise from the spoilers we’ve seen, Joe is set up well. Presuming he is a little shit at first and agatha has wandavision tones, he’ll get to be funny and snarky, and then with wandavision and young avengers have more angst, heartfelt, and badass moments. Not a bad lineup, set to be likeable and multifaceted and get fans onboard

I’m assuming he’s done several interviews/photo shoots for magazines already. He could also be doing some podcast style interviews that are recorded ahead of time while in Atlanta. Chat show interviews will all be close to the time s2 comes out, but could easily stretch out to a month after the release date. The only thing Joe really can’t do pr wise while in Atlanta is joint interviews with Kit. It seems like every Netflix show has a bunch of short pr videos with the cast in the same outfit for every video, so they’re obviously all filmed on the same day. Joe could get a couple days off from Agatha to fly to London and film all these videos, or they could film them all immediately after Agatha wraps.

If Aubrey’s scenes don’t overlap much with his either (as seems to be the case) he might also finish earlier, since it seems like she’s barely been on set if there at all. Still, I’m thrilled for him that he’s been actively filming since December/Jan; his role will be very sizable
