I wonder what brand of adult diapers she uses, OP?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 27, 2023 11:45 PM |
Jeanne Crain!!! Margie!!!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 28, 2023 12:18 AM |
Grateful she got knocked up and we were spared her Eve Harrington.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 28, 2023 12:57 AM |
^ She was a good Catholic - I think she was knocked up a lot.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 28, 2023 1:21 AM |
She was in a lot of wonderful movies. I liked her a lot in A Letter to 3 wives. …. She was good in Dangerous Crossing - I don’t remember what the twist was in that movie. didn’t her husband disappear on the cruise ship? …. She had a long neck, a tiny waist and a big bosom - she kept her figure even having hall of those kids. She was good with Dana Andrews in State Fair..
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 28, 2023 5:26 AM |
I LOVE Apartment For Peggy.
Seven kids with her husband her who cheated and beat her black and blue.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 28, 2023 6:08 AM |
I'll pass.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 28, 2023 12:06 PM |
I liked her better when she was older, because it seemed like she was styled to be just another Paulette Goddard when she was younger.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 28, 2023 12:12 PM |
Jeanne Crain as... Nefertiti, Queen of the Nile.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 28, 2023 12:13 PM |
Jeanne Crain another Paulette Goddard? That’s a new one
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 28, 2023 1:03 PM |
I wish we had OP’s phone number.
I’d call and just whisper “Jeanne Crain, OP. Jeeeaaan Craaaiin” like Kathleen Turner did “Pusywillow, Dottie, pus-sy wil-low” in Serial Mom.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 28, 2023 2:28 PM |
My mother did that to me, R13.
She LOVED Jeanne Crain.
She's dead now. It's a relief.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 28, 2023 2:32 PM |
Dying over here. That’s a classic thread, r8, thanks for the bump

I love her wholesomeness in the ‘40s, the Girl Next Door with big tits. She was particularly lovely in Technicolor — that peachy complexion, ash brown hair and green eyes looked wonderful in color.
By the ‘50s she looked like every other glamorous B actress in pictures. Her glory years were the ‘40s.
One of her kids (or grandkids) used ro have a website about her. She and Paul Brinkman eventually had an acrimonious divorce, they were neglectful parents and she was as vain and nuts as every other actress of the period.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 28, 2023 2:51 PM |
She was so lovely in LEAVE HER TO HEAVEN. I just wish that her character had more backbone than she did. But I found her to be a good counter to Gene Tierney’s maniacal Ellen.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 28, 2023 3:08 PM |
Do you remember her reuniting with Dana Andrews in the 60s for that low budget thriller “Hot Rods From Hell?”
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 28, 2023 3:16 PM |
Writer Doug McClelland who was doing a book about 40's Hollywood talked to her several times.
He says that when she didn't want to talk she would answer the phone and pretend to be the maid and say that the family was in Europe and she didn't know when they would be back.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 28, 2023 4:43 PM |
That is so interesting! Did he attribute it to anything specific? Was it her drinking? Was she sensitive about gaining weight and losing her looks?
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 28, 2023 5:34 PM |
After her 4th big baby, her pussy was never the same...
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 28, 2023 10:31 PM |
She pisses you off, OP? She hit *me* in the head with a fondue pot.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 28, 2023 10:35 PM |
R21 I think he said it was a combination of things including her drinking and just not wanting to bother with him that day......
I saw her in Twenty Plus Two last night on TCM.....a detective movie starring David Janssen made in 1961. She looked pretty good. It's probably available ONDemand now.....also Dina Merrill is in it and has a scene with Robert Osborne playing a drunken sailor!
I wouldn't recommend that OP watch it however.

[quote] I liked her a lot in A Letter to 3 wives.
No, she was lame. I'm glad Mankiewicz was forbidden from making his proposed 'A Letter to 5 wives'.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 28, 2023 10:53 PM |
Op, I feel this way about that blowhard Patti Lupone.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 28, 2023 10:58 PM |
She was also lame here.
A plain metallic voice. One could never believe her brain was thinking up Wilde's dialogue.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 28, 2023 11:00 PM |
Looking at her later credits on IMDB I am surprised at how little television she did. Even alcoholic Gale Storm was a guest on everything for years. You would have thought that Jeanne Crain would have turned up on Murder, She Wrote, Love Boat or Medical Center. The 70s and 80s were really a big time for Golden age actresses - showing up on Mike Douglas or Falcon Crest with false eyelashes, winglets and caftans!

Wiglets^
by Anonymous | reply 30 | January 28, 2023 11:58 PM |
I watched An Apartment for Peggy last night too. I’ve probably seen it a dozen times. Peggy lost her job because she was pregnant and couldn’t fit in to her work uniform and acts so casual about it. She should have been holding protests!
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 29, 2023 1:28 AM |
[quote] pisses me off.
An ugly expression, OP.
Jeanne Crain wouldn't use that kind of language.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 29, 2023 2:15 AM |
Jeanne Crain told me that R32 has halitosis.
But she called it "stanky cum breath."
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 29, 2023 2:38 AM |
This thread is Eldergay outrage at its most raw.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 29, 2023 2:51 AM |
Jeanne Crain had vaguely similar eyes and nostrils to Jean Simmons.
But Crain had none of the vivacity and intelligence of Jean Simmons.
Jean Simmons appeared opposite EVERY leading man that Hollywood had to offer over a full decade.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 29, 2023 2:57 AM |
Wasn’t the twist at the end of Margie that she married her teacher? He found the bloomers she lost at the dance? …. And there was a song - I want a da da , a sandwich and you?
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 29, 2023 3:52 AM |
R36 Crain's nostrils were much more unattractive and asymmetrical than Simmons'. Of course cameramen were doing their best not to capture her honker in an unflattering manner but occasionally they failed her. I remember one shot in Dangerous Crossing where she's looking directly into the camera and when she tilts her head back you get to see those huge ugly slits in all their glory.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 29, 2023 4:14 AM |
My wish for you, r39, is that Zombie Jeanne Crain not enter your dreams tonight and create havoc.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 29, 2023 4:22 AM |
Here's La Crain in Dangerous Crossing, displaying not only her huge nostrils but also a shiny dental filling in her mouth.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | January 29, 2023 4:38 AM |
#38 - YES! That is the one!! Thank you! Wow - that will stay in my head for Hours!!!! …..
by Anonymous | reply 42 | January 29, 2023 4:39 AM |
[quote] shiny dental filling in her mouth.
I love those revelations. And how those two beautiful men Tyrone Power and Michael Redgrave had faulty temporary dental fillings which can be detected in their 1930s film appearances.

Has anyone here seen Centennial Summer? I haven’t I see that is on you tube. Growing up I always wanted to see it - I don’t remember why it wasn’t available.. I had a record with Meet me in St Louis on one side and Centennial summer on the other side. …… abut ten years ago or more more I remember Jeanne Crain’s grand daughter had a website or blog dedicated to Jeanne and I think she was selling some of her things on eBay. Does anybody remember that?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 29, 2023 6:38 AM |
No, R44. I have little regard for this starlet.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | January 29, 2023 6:53 AM |
Centennial is NO Meet Me In St. Louis.
R37 yes you are remembering the end of MARGIE correctly....."a cup of coffee, a sandwich, and you......"
I liked the one season tv series MARGIE with Cynthia Pepper in the title role.....
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 29, 2023 5:22 PM |
Margie, Farmer’s Daughter, The Greatest Show on Earth and Long Hot Summer - oh - and the New Loretta Young Show with Dack Rambo - it’s time for me to hit You tube. ….. Sorry Jeanne Crain - back to you - I always thought she was the kind of beautiful that the prettiest lady in the “PTA FOLLIES” would be - she never seemed that bright, though. Or “HUNGRY.” Janet Leigh from Romance at Rosy Ridge” seemed “Hungry” for a career.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 29, 2023 6:49 PM |
I meant that Janet Leigh from the time of Rosy Ridge seemed eager for a career - so did Mary Tyler Moore in her Laura Petrie days. Jeanne Crain seemed passive like it didn’t care that much. but I didn’t know the woman how would I know?!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 29, 2023 6:54 PM |
Apartment for Peggy must be the first movie to use the word PREGNANT onscreen.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 29, 2023 11:02 PM |
Jean Simmons was always so dour and humorless onscreen. The only performance of hers I enjoyed was HAPPY ENDINGS.
