Tasteful Friends: Brit footballer Jack Grealish's £6m mansion

Paid for in cash. That's a Brummie for you.

Hopefully this property is undergoing serious refurbishment with the change in ownership. If not...well.

Oh, my, it's absolutely awful on the inside... A footballer's dreamhouse 😂

Pretty fucking bad. And what's on the second floor a fucking sex room? There are no windows.

by Anonymousreply 5October 10, 2022 1:30 AM

R5 knowing Jack? That’s likely the best most realistic guess.

If you’ve not been following along with our thread series on Jack, he’s, erm...there’s no delicate way to put it...pretty much addicted to sex. And xannies, and whippits. And ugly bougie designer fashion. ‘Tacky pilled-out whore’ is understating it. He’s also clinically stupid. But still we love the darling boy...

The Grealish mansion (location unrevealed--vaguely somewhere in the North-West of England, probably Chester) has private security, a helipad on the roof, wine cave beneath the grounds, indoor pool, tennis court, golfing green and fishing lake, among other necessary amenities. The garden alone is bigger than a football pitch.

Surely that is going to be expensive to maintain, even on £300k a week? Will call for an entire retinue of staff, in addition to the personal cooks and trainers and cleaners he already has on payroll. It’s not like Jack’s WAG Sasha is going to mow the grounds and scrub all the floors, poor cow.

All that work and money, and it still won’t be a patch on the Becks’ residence at Great Tew...

So glad it's not a video tour with some real estate agent or homeowner up his/her own ass narrating things. That's the bane of "tasteful friends" imho.

It's styled traditionally except for the chairs in the dining room. I don't find anything nutty about it. Nice place.

Having Jack himself do a video tour and narrator would have broken the internet with memes and content. Especially if he'd done it half-starkers.

The rooms seem a good liveable size, not too big and not too small, and very well lit despite the windows not being massive.

For me what kind of kills it is the dated drapes on all the windows in the main rooms (imagine the dust!), the crown molding in others, and all the pine & marble counters in the kitchen. Quite fug and quite last century.

by Anonymousreply 11October 13, 2022 12:26 AM

Ceilings look really low for a home that size. Was it built in the 1950’s in an approximation of an older, traditional style? I don’t like it. The missing second story windows is really strange, but that large arched central window is an eyesore, too.

An ancient covenant on the plot almost saw herds of sheep & cows belonging to local farmers permitted to walk all over the grounds. Luckily, oil money can hire excellent property lawyers, and Jack got the ruling removed before he moved him & his girlfriend & their dogs in a few weeks ago.

I'd like to see the listing, the pics in the Sun article arent enough to pass judgement on. I like the pool, and there appears to be some nice original details in some pics but other rooms like the kitchen and dining room look "off" somehow. That pic at the bottom of the stairs looks good though

by Anonymousreply 14October 13, 2022 5:34 AM

@r13, Jack bought a sheep crossing? 😂

If the football thing doesn't work out I guess he can fall back on being a shepherd

by Anonymousreply 15October 13, 2022 8:23 AM

It's definitely tacky and tasteless. And an indoor pool is something that I thought was amazing as a child, but doesn't at all appeal to me as an adult. It defeats the purpose, really.

by Anonymousreply 16October 13, 2022 8:26 AM

^ Not to mention the never ending mold and mildew. My high school had an indoor pool and you could feel the humidity and smell the chlorine a 100 ft away

by Anonymousreply 17October 13, 2022 8:43 AM

R16 an indoor pool definitely has a purpose in a cold climate like the UK as it makes it possible to use it year round rather than just for a few months of summer. If the pool is heated as is likely it also makes that far more efficient as heat retention is far better without cold air moving across the surface of the water. In hot climates it also allows use in the middle of the day without getting sunburnt. If the building housing the pool is purpose designed and built correctly you shouldnt get mould or mildew issues. Chlorine itself doesnt smell, what does reek are chloramines which the byproducts of chlorine and sweat, piss and dirt etc, which only happen in a poorly managed pool where nobody showers before using it or worse they pee in it. None of these should be an issue in a private pool like this

by Anonymousreply 18October 13, 2022 10:22 AM

Indoor pool means Jack can have Kevin De Bruyne or any other lad over for some bromance time anytime of the year.

I've had similar experiences too, R17.

R18 I'm aware of the reasons folks install indoor pools, and their potential benefits. The climate where I grew up is very similar. It just doesn't appeal to me at all. I'd prefer to keep my swimning outdoors & in the warmer months.

And while it could be kept to a minimum, mold & mildew are always going to be potential problems, where water is involved. Pool, or not.

What I WOULD use year 'round, is a jacuzzi. Indoor jacuzzi tubs are nice. And I especially enjoy luxuriating in outdoor jacuzzis while it's snowing (provided the thing is near an entrance to the house, to avoid extended exposure, post-soak). An outdoor Finnish-style sauna would also be a nice addition. I love that part of their culture.

Jack is about as easily-led and dim as a sheep, so I'm not sure how that would work. Then again, he's got the hyper energy and trainability of a collie, so perhaps he could bark and round them up while his girlfriend actually herds them in her Ugg boots like a Barbour Barbie.

Maybe that's why the couple had to buy a house with all that outside space. Somewhere for Jack to run about when he gets the zoomies.

If Jack doesn't get fucked or pegged over those Rococo pieces in the bedroom then I don't even know what.

The faux-Terracotta Army warrior statue looming over the poolside area is making me giggle nervously, for some odd reason.

R25 Jack's got a pretty body all over, though the view from the back is the best.

Shame we can't say the same about his ugly house.

What was the legal basis for abrogating the "ancient covenant"? Had the right not been exercised for several generations?

by Anonymousreply 27October 15, 2022 4:20 PM

R27 the legal basis was a caseful of dirhams and a turn inside Jack for every councillor/Land Registry worker with an objection.

by Anonymousreply 28October 15, 2022 10:55 PM

Reports say that there's also a greenhouse, raised beds and an orchard with the property, and that Jack's interested in gardening.

Who'd have thought he has any patience for tending plants or that he has green fingers, being a city boy born and raised? Though I suppose there was that work experience he did as a boy at Villa, picking carrots with West Midlands farmers...
