It’s always funny to me that Patrick doesn’t like Joe more given he compared himself to Charlie and said that’s why he wanted to develop the show (that he as a teenager was Charlie). Don’t think he has any issue with Joe, though; he just LOVES Kit, Tobie, and Bash.

Agree with r125. I actually started re-reading the comic at the point where season 1 left off yesterday (wanted to see where season 2 is likely to end) and I was surprised at how often Nick and Charlie were kissing and being affectionate.

R126 he is very lucky in that he can pull off most colours really well; I haven’t seen him in any I thought were awful. I just hope to god that whatever he wears his stylist gets tailored. He is thin as hell and has really skinny legs (as seen in this pic); I think when it’s fit right he looks amazing but sometimes they leave him in things that are swimming on him.

R127 the James and Isaac actors have been leaving comments and stories that suggest there might be something there. Alice also said she had plans for asexual aromantic Isaac but then said both are “spectrums” so maybe she’s planning some odd “James is into Charlie but finds love with asexual aromantic Isaac somehow” storyline. The more interesting move would be either a legit jealousy from Nick re James or Alice reenforcing the Ben/Nick parallel. Have Ben hook up with James in secret and treat him like shit (taking Charlie’s place) while dating Imogen publicly or something.

R128 They do kiss all the time. Though I cant' see them kissing nearly as much as they do in the comic in the show. It's just constant with tons of giggling and snuggling that goes on forever. It would be cute for about a minute, but with such limited time and so many characters I think a lot will be trimmed down.

r127 I think Nick’ll be jealous but it won’t turn into a full-blown love triangle. Sort of like the situation with Imogen, where it was always made clear that Nick wasn’t interested. Apart from Alice having said that she’s not going to make use of love triangles in the show for the sake of drama, it’s hard to imagine Charlie becoming interested in anyone else.

Speaking of James, the actor posted this story yesterday. Coupled with Tobie’s “😉” comment on his post I think any story Alice is fleshing out for James might involve Isaac? Maybe he makes Isaac realize he’s aroace or something.

Netflix needs to drill it into Alice that the major selling point of Heartstopper is Nick/Charlie and Joe/Kit so that she stops coming up with all these unnecessary storylines for extreme side characters just to gain some woke points.

R134 despite the random side tangents my guess / hope is that while she’s including too many plot points, it won’t be to the reduction of Nick and Charlie’s roles. Obviously it’s early days on set but half the cast seems like its never there; kizzy has posted from Brighton multiple weekdays of filming, Bash was off on holiday, Tobie basically lives on Twitter so can’t be filming. So at least to date much of the cast is not filming much. My guess is (uncharitably) Alice will try too many plotlines at once and many will be underdeveloped and poor, but the central Nick and Charlie storyline is most of the source material and Netflix will push her to stick to that and maybe Tao/Elle as major plotline B. She can want to include the whole cast all she likes but Netflix, looking at follower count and praise for acting performances, is going to want a tight focus on Kit and Joe

The formula in the first season worked and was widely praised for a reason. I think the addition of the teachers and their minor plot could be interesting, but otherwise don’t think the big asexual plans are necessary. Or could have been done with a stronger actor, like Jenny.

I would've understood the additional unnecessary storylines if these were one hour episodes we were talking about. But no, it's still going to be 30 minutes long. What all does she expect to fit in them?

So yeah, really hope Netflix asks her to pack it up and just stick to what made the show popular in the first place that's Nick-Charlie and Joe-Kit.
