I thought from pretty early on that Maia and Kit were hooking up. Him taking her along to London two weekends in a row, to the after party for Joe and Will’s play both the night half the cast went and the last night, and the photos they posted that each other clearly took (including the since deleted one of her in his cap) were all pretty clear signs to me, as was how fast he posted news of her show being renewed. I honestly thought part of the timing of Kit liking the tweet and “acting” more queer (commenting twice on how attractive Bash and his castmates were) was because he was hooking up with Maia and she’s out and very vocal about being bi, so he was matching that energy himself.

Right? Just because he's queer doesn't mean he's not going to date women. In fact, that's all I ever expect to see him dating publicly, so this development is not surprising at all. I think this boils down to one of two possibilities. Either:

1. This is a calculated PR stunt designed to drum up rumors and buzz for their movie. It's a tried and true tactic used by many studios and PR agents to keep people talking about their projects and clients. It is rather odd timing to see Kit (suddenly) getting photographed showing PDA with a girl--in Paris, no less. It's almost cliche in its staging. Considering he's never been photographed prior doing this with any other girl, or the fact that no old photos have ever surfaced with any ex-girlfriends, when people have literally tracked down obscure family photos from when he 6 years old, it is sorta odd for this just conveniently pops up when there's a film to promote.

Yeah, I think it's RBF - we're so used to seeing him all smiley in fan photos and interviews etc, but it looks like a neutral expression to me in that video. If he had spotted the filming, I reckon he might have stopped and asked the person not to post the video.

Either way, he's clearly dating her (no, this is not PR many months before the film is even released!) and while he'd prefer to keep it private, he's probably similar to Joe and Bash in that he's comfortable enough with a bit of PDA but likely won't make any sort of announcement. It's surely a casual relationship though, as they live in different countries? I, again, don’t get how Bash is even remotely relevant here when he’s not being sent hate directly in the way Joe and to a lesser extent Kit are. Neither Joe nor Kit would ever have to even name search themselves to find this shit when it’s sent directly to them and some of the tweets have even gone moderately viral (tweets about Joe being “ugly” and Kit queerbaiting have gotten thousands of likes before). This has never happened with Bash.

Members of the cast would have to be stupid to delete any of their social media accounts after they blew up, deleting the app is their best option. They can always hand the reigns of their accounts to their teams and have them tweet out promo for their jobs and stuff down the line.

Kit *is* a straight, white man. A really immature & annoying one. He’s clearly quite impulsive & doesn’t enjoy the fame his job brings. He really needs to get a handle on it & learn how to deal with it. He’s not Prince Harry, he’s a British TV star currently (I’m not counting his 5 minutes on screen in the Elton movie). He hasn’t got paps in his face 24/7. No- one is stalking his every move. He isn’t in the press at all. He’s small fry. He can live a very normal life day to day. Yet the way he & sometimes Joe act is like they are hounded & harassed daily. It’s baffling.

I dont watch that Young Royals show, but is the scandinavian lead straight? Do people accuse him of queerbaiting or whatever? Do people accuse Kit of queerbaiting because of his interviews or because of the role he is playing, or both?

R169 I think the lead (Edvin) has avoided ever speaking about his sexuality by just never talking about it. Kit backed himself into a corner by being upset people thought he was straight but refusing to say even something as broad as “I’m queer and don’t plan to say more than that” or “I don’t consider myself straight””. Even then though most (I would say the vast majority) of the fanbase accepts him as queer and jumps down peoples throats for even calling him straight passing let alone straight. I genuinely have sympathy for the fact that he’s 18 and even a small number of shitty comments will get to him but he really needs to learn ignoring things gets them to die down and die out faster

R169 his interviews, mainly. The “I’m confident in my sexuality” comment but not wanting to clarify. He used to follow loads of scantily clad instagram models but unfollowed them just before the show aired and started being vague about his sexuality even though he’s just plain ol’ straight.

"The Prince" has referenced ex girlfriends. He also makes a point of saying in interviews that the prince's sexuality has not been labelled. It's funny. Edvin Ryding has had a similar trajectory to Kit Connor (child actor turned romantic lead) but Ryding seems much more sure of himself. He's outspoken about dealing with anxiety but he doesn't make a dog and pony show about it.
