The movie FOXFIRE (1996)

It's 'missing Angelina as a moody loner rocker butch' hours.

It’s a bittersweet and romantic scene but if it were made today they would be tribbing on the roof.

Haunting score, and intense emotional melancholy soundtrack. Perfect for autumn.

The final scene of Legs' departure and Maddie's choice hurts like Hell, even though it's obvious from scenes prior what the decision and denouement will be. That's how you know you've got the heartstrings of your audience, when they see it coming and still feel the impact hit so painfully.

For it's Legs' short pained laugh/sob that's half relief and gratitude that Maddie's choosing to stay safe and take care of herself, and half resignment and disappointment like Legs really thought for a second it would turn out differently for her this time...Goddess. Ange does butch-heartbreak and emotional stoicism better than anyone I've ever seen onscreen.

And the way Maddie climbs the bridge, the breathtaking shots of her balancing so high over the river and the road. Though I do wonder if that image may have been more powerful without Hedy's epilogue voiceover, maybe leaving it ambiguous as to why Maddie was climbing and how everything ended. There's nothing wrong with her performance, though.

They really don't make tragic, bittersweet, achingly-sad and romantic movies this way anymore. Wonder why?

based on the Joyce Carol Oates novel of the same name with the subtitle, Confessions of a Girl Gang

Jolie's unsullied lips are gorgeous.

Hedy Burress (great actress name) should have had a better career.

It seems she mostly only does voice animation for video games now. Easy fun nice work if you can get it, I suppose.

The best part of the movie was Peter Facinelli's nude scene during the opening credits.
