Also some subsidization is just people getting assistance for their housing costs and they choose where to live or use it for where they already live - they don't get moved into some "ghetto". In my experience, too, most Africans are socially conservative, sometimes extremely so.

I have a friend from Kenya. If anything, he feels sorry for African Americans, and I have never heard him speak outright against them or their culture. I remember he once remarked, "One of the worst things that happened during the slave trade was that the slaves lost their African hairstyles." Hair, especially women's hair, is very significant in African cultures. It's almost like its own language, he said.

That comment stayed with me for some reason.

One lady from Cameroon said "these crazy negroes and their names". I almost fell out of my chair at that one.
