by Anonymous | reply 602 | June 6, 2022 4:02 AM |
Must go out this evening, anyone watching the Big Concert at Buck House . . . keep us informed.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | June 4, 2022 6:51 PM |
Will Meg. in super short dress(cauz' I have legs for days) leap on stage & harmonize with her forever bestie Diana Ross(ehat you didn't knw?)? How great would it be if Diana pulled a Pete Townsend @ Woodstock in honor of being in England & pushed her offstage with a mike stand whack to the back? Would BBC go blank to protect darling Megs rep(we all LUV her)?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | June 4, 2022 6:52 PM |
Princess Beatrice's husband, the Count, is quite the twink in my opinion. Really gorgeous đ.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | June 4, 2022 6:53 PM |
The BBC is showing an amusing skit with the Queen having tea with Paddington Bear at the Palace. The Queen takes a marmalade sandwich out of her handbag.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | June 4, 2022 7:03 PM |
They tap their china cups with spoons and now the party has started! Drumming 'We will Rock You' - Queen with Adam Lambert.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | June 4, 2022 7:04 PM |
George and Charlotte are sitting in between the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Charlotte looks lovely in red.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | June 4, 2022 7:06 PM |
I love Brian May flanked by the statue of Queen Victoria, very dramatic. Adam Lambert looks like he's gotten fat and is in a regal-looking jacket.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | June 4, 2022 7:07 PM |
Well, that was shit.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | June 4, 2022 7:09 PM |
Where can one watch this in the United States?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | June 4, 2022 7:10 PM |
Huge crowds all along the mall. There are going to be some big names coming up - Elton John, Diana Ross, Alicia Keys, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | June 4, 2022 7:11 PM |
The crowd are constantly waving Union Jack flags which is rather pretty - waves and flutters.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | June 4, 2022 7:14 PM |
One newscaster said Elton will be on tape. Is this true?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | June 4, 2022 7:15 PM |
Any place to watch this online?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | June 4, 2022 7:16 PM |
R13 iplayer if you can get a VPN that works.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | June 4, 2022 7:17 PM |
R12 I read the same a few days ago, but he was pictured entering the country in a wheelchair yesterday, so presumably he will be performing live. I wonder if he will make it up with Rod Steward given he is performing as well.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | June 4, 2022 7:18 PM |
Are there any obvious omissions in the royal box other that the Harkles?
by Anonymous | reply 16 | June 4, 2022 7:19 PM |
R16 Louis is at home. Charles and Camilla, Anne, Bea, Eugenie, the Wessexes (inc children) are there that I can see. Andrew isn't there. And a bunch of politicians are sitting behind them.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | June 4, 2022 7:22 PM |
Thank you, R18.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | June 4, 2022 7:27 PM |
The Harkles arenât there?
by Anonymous | reply 20 | June 4, 2022 7:28 PM |
Thanks, r18!!
by Anonymous | reply 21 | June 4, 2022 7:30 PM |
This looks very patriotic.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | June 4, 2022 7:33 PM |
R20 nope. They weren't invited apparently.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | June 4, 2022 7:33 PM |
Craig David now, in a sparkly blue tracksuit.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | June 4, 2022 7:35 PM |
Flashy lights on the top of Buckingham Palace too?

by Anonymous | reply 29 | June 4, 2022 7:45 PM |
Hamilton cast at the gates of the palace, that's quite something.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | June 4, 2022 7:45 PM |
Charles and William are suppose to make a speech about the Queen at the end of the show.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | June 4, 2022 7:47 PM |
Interesting song choice from Hamilton: âIf thereâs a reason Iâm still alive when so many have diedâŚ.â
by Anonymous | reply 32 | June 4, 2022 7:47 PM |
George and Charlotte look bored, tee hee.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | June 4, 2022 7:51 PM |
I saw Queen in July 2019 and Glambert sure did add the COVID-19 since then.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | June 4, 2022 7:51 PM |
Fuck me, the Sussexes being shut out from THIS must be killing them, especially Meghan.
The BRF got ITS pound of flesh!
by Anonymous | reply 35 | June 4, 2022 7:54 PM |
Charles and Camilla waving their flags and enjoying the performance
by Anonymous | reply 38 | June 4, 2022 7:57 PM |
Well, that was too adorable, r36. I always like it when she shows her sense of humor. Iâm probably one of the few who loved her Bond video at the London Olympics.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | June 4, 2022 7:57 PM |
The skit with HM and Paddington Bear was a great touch.
Diamond Jubilee: 007.
Platinum Jubilee: Paddington Bear.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | June 4, 2022 7:58 PM |
Aw, that's nice from Michelle Obama.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | June 4, 2022 7:59 PM |
Why was Tony Blair singing in a multi-colored robe?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | June 4, 2022 8:00 PM |
The Cambridge kids are having a long day. I wonder what they will remember of this whole weekend?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | June 4, 2022 8:00 PM |
Any sightings of the hunky Chatto brothers?
by Anonymous | reply 44 | June 4, 2022 8:00 PM |
Camilla may be already drunk. She's not afraid to let her hair down. LOL.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | June 4, 2022 8:01 PM |
I thought the same thing r42. The resemblance was incredible.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | June 4, 2022 8:03 PM |
Sam Ryder really does do the kitschy Eurotrash vibe very well. It was a shock that he came second but I guess he got that nailed.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | June 4, 2022 8:03 PM |
The full video of the Queen and Paddington Bear.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | June 4, 2022 8:04 PM |
I wonder if Andrew and Fergie are sat in front of the TV at home with a box of wine?
by Anonymous | reply 49 | June 4, 2022 8:04 PM |
Who's the guy singing now in the blue suit and who was the guy who sang the Joseph song?
by Anonymous | reply 50 | June 4, 2022 8:05 PM |
Whoâs the actor playing the butler? He looks really familiar.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | June 4, 2022 8:07 PM |
R50 George Ezra singing now
by Anonymous | reply 52 | June 4, 2022 8:07 PM |
Prince George looks like he is ready to call an Uber
by Anonymous | reply 54 | June 4, 2022 8:08 PM |
The kiddies are too young to appreciate the music. George is already learning to be stoic. I think also the fact that they have to be seated and quiet doesnât lend itself to having fun. I always let loose at live concerts.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | June 4, 2022 8:11 PM |
Rod Stewart is on now. He doesn't even sound like himself anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | June 4, 2022 8:12 PM |
Poor old Rod Stewart.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | June 4, 2022 8:12 PM |
WHY is Rod Stewart singing a Neil Diamond song??
by Anonymous | reply 58 | June 4, 2022 8:14 PM |
The umbrellas look like.. footballs.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | June 4, 2022 8:14 PM |
Why is he singing Sweet Caroline?
by Anonymous | reply 60 | June 4, 2022 8:14 PM |
Yeah what is it about Sweet Caroline? I know they sing it at soccer games. And then in Wales.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | June 4, 2022 8:15 PM |
Oh, dear.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | June 4, 2022 8:15 PM |
George and Charlotte came alive during Rod Stewart's segment. Waving their flags and singing along.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | June 4, 2022 8:16 PM |
What happened between Auntie Elton and Rod Stewart?
by Anonymous | reply 64 | June 4, 2022 8:16 PM |
R35 the freeze out of the Harkles has been spectacular. I knew it would be polite distance but never expected this level of arctic chill. Donât f@ck with the Royal Family! They donât play!
So, whatâs the Harklesâ end game? Suffering public humiliation as an act of atonement to get back into the fold? Or did the call the palaces bluff by accepting the Jubilee invite to try leverage the chilly treatment to bolster their victimhood?
I suspect itâs the latter. Gives them a reason for vicious autobios (assume Meghan will write one) and Oprah round 2.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | June 4, 2022 8:17 PM |
It was cute seeing the Cambridges waving their flags and singing along to Sweet Caroline.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | June 4, 2022 8:17 PM |
Tom Daley!
by Anonymous | reply 68 | June 4, 2022 8:19 PM |
If the rumor is true Harry and Meghan need that photo of Lilibet with the Queen for Netflix but it doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | June 4, 2022 8:19 PM |
Finally a ghey.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | June 4, 2022 8:20 PM |
R64 Rod gave an interview shortly after Elton announced his farewell tour, he suggested that it was just a gimmick to sell tickets. Elton was raging and ravaged Rod for releasing all of those American songbook albums, which of course sold millions. Rod has tried to make the peace but Elton being his usual cuntish self is having none of it.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | June 4, 2022 8:20 PM |
Rod was dreadful but at least is was somebody I recognised.
by Anonymous | reply 72 | June 4, 2022 8:22 PM |
Daley = pocket ghey
by Anonymous | reply 73 | June 4, 2022 8:22 PM |
R71- Thank you. Elton is so cunty sometimes.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | June 4, 2022 8:23 PM |
Andrea Bocelli is now singing "Nessum Dorma". A poor man's Pavarotti.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | June 4, 2022 8:23 PM |
Why is the blind man wearing sunglasses?
by Anonymous | reply 76 | June 4, 2022 8:23 PM |
Heâs lost his voice, r72. Same as Roger Daltrey. Their singing style doesnât lend itself to longevity.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | June 4, 2022 8:23 PM |
Andrea Bocelli, from the Kardashian wedding reception to the Queen
He does it all.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | June 4, 2022 8:23 PM |
R75 Heâs as inevitable at these events as Alicia Keyes.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | June 4, 2022 8:24 PM |
Have any of these acts been good?
by Anonymous | reply 80 | June 4, 2022 8:24 PM |
Duran Duran!
by Anonymous | reply 81 | June 4, 2022 8:25 PM |
This is magnificent. Bravo Andrea.
by Anonymous | reply 82 | June 4, 2022 8:25 PM |
Is Tom Daley white?
by Anonymous | reply 83 | June 4, 2022 8:25 PM |
I wish Freddie were still here.
by Anonymous | reply 84 | June 4, 2022 8:25 PM |
R80, That's probably not the point. They are the equivalent of comfort food and something something Britishness.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | June 4, 2022 8:26 PM |
Up next is a band from my youth - Duran Duran. God, what was I thinking?
Simon LeBon is fat now.
by Anonymous | reply 86 | June 4, 2022 8:26 PM |
Charles perked up for Bocelli. More his thing.
by Anonymous | reply 87 | June 4, 2022 8:26 PM |
Andrea Bocelli followedby⌠Duran Duran? Really???
by Anonymous | reply 88 | June 4, 2022 8:27 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 89 | June 4, 2022 8:27 PM |
Whoever is producing this is doing a great job. The flow and expert stage management is top notch.
by Anonymous | reply 90 | June 4, 2022 8:27 PM |
Up next is a band from my youth - Duran Duran. God, what was I thinking?
Three of the four up there (Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Simon LeBon) were late 80s wank material in that order.
Nick and Roger said on the BBC that the palace requested certain songs.
by Anonymous | reply 91 | June 4, 2022 8:29 PM |
R 65 The Markles were invited. Met w. HM & Daddy Big Bucks. No photos? Well, Just Harry wants his privacy, hates the paps. Bingo, he got it, no dangerous photos. They respected his trauma!
With gas set to top all time historical rates, doubt anyone in the US is going to cry for some aging Friar Tuck look alike crying how hard he has it. How many of you got left a few cool mill., by Dead Mommy who you dig Up & flog on the regular? How many of you got floated by the dad you publicly trashed for almost a year when you fled thumbing your nose & trashing not just your family, but your country? Yeah loads of folk will be crying for them & storming the gates of Buckingham & Windsor to demand Justice for Haz & Megs. Maybe, if you feel so inclined to take up their cause, make a cash donation to them directly, I'm sure they would much appreciate it. Weaves , bronzer, weed, coke, & skin bleacher ain't cheap anymore..damn inflation!
by Anonymous | reply 92 | June 4, 2022 8:31 PM |

R96 I was thinking the same thing.
by Anonymous | reply 102 | June 4, 2022 8:40 PM |
From Ronco: Keys Off Key: Live at the Palace
by Anonymous | reply 103 | June 4, 2022 8:41 PM |
I liked that the camera showed the gold winged woman at the top of the statue when Keys was singing about a girl on fire.
by Anonymous | reply 104 | June 4, 2022 8:41 PM |
I think there was a non-binary in that parade.
Don't give Prince George any ideas.
by Anonymous | reply 105 | June 4, 2022 8:42 PM |
The orchestra, lighting and production is superb. Too bad some of the entertainment is mediocre.

It does look amazing but I feel depressed about conservation in general - think it's a losing battle and Wills going on about it when he has 3 kids and flies everywhere doesn't ring genuine for me.
by Anonymous | reply 122 | June 4, 2022 8:51 PM |
Has William been at the gym? He looks fit and kind of humpy. Make him King before Charles.

Elton John is singing now.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | June 4, 2022 8:59 PM |
You can't do these things without Sir Elton.
by Anonymous | reply 146 | June 4, 2022 9:00 PM |

I actually do feel a little sorry for Harry and Meg. Iâve fucked up, backed the wrong horse, done stupid things that I regret. I can only imagine itâs challenging for Meghan at this point to keep Harry buoyed up and convinced they made the right decision leaving country and family.

The light show was awesome. Here are some of the spectacular images shown on the front of Buckingham Palace.
by Anonymous | reply 225 | June 4, 2022 9:40 PM |
I don't know why, it was entirely unexpected, but I teared up during the Paddington sketch. She seemed so natural, the purse gag was a genius play on 'what does she keep in there?', there was this simple humility to the thank you, which really said it all. I fucking teared up.
Queen Mary!
by Anonymous | reply 226 | June 4, 2022 9:40 PM |
One of the most unexpected images of the day...The Queen and Paddington Bear getting the show started with their cup, saucer and spoon tapping to a Queen's song.

OK I'm not following any of this because I'm American and don't give a shit. I just clicked on a news site. I think the crisp reception wasn't unexpected on Harry's part. They all know he was on a hunting trip for Netflix. But maybe one day, hopefully in the not to distant future, everything will be resolved and the brothers can be close again. It is what Diana would have wanted. The Queen too. And Harry knows it.
by Anonymous | reply 232 | June 4, 2022 9:45 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 235 | June 4, 2022 9:49 PM |
Diana Ross looks great for 78. My mom told me that the reason she sang the first song is because it was a favorite of Princess Dianaâs. Her voice isnât as it use to be but sheâs still a presence and a magnetic entertainer. So afraid she was going to fall down those steps!

They must have taken a photo of the Queen with L. It's bound to surface at some point.
by Anonymous | reply 244 | June 4, 2022 9:59 PM |
R234, wouldnât be surprised. Itâs all very awkward and they definitely seem like outcasts. Itâs better for all involved if they left. They shouldâve never went. Donât think itâs solely about Netflix either. Iâve always thought theyâd try to go back if their Hollywood dreams failed. Where they went wrong with their projects is that theyâre both talentless. They couldâve done well with interesting documentaries on various human interest subjects, not done to death topics that mainly focus on them.
I think their irrelevancy is a done deal. Williamâs kids are getting older and the focus will shift to them more and more.
by Anonymous | reply 245 | June 4, 2022 10:05 PM |
R244 oh, for sure. They canât deny the bairn that one. Itâs only right. Just think, in 15 years Lilibet will be posting the photo on whatever platform it is, with hashtags like #famiglia #icon #queen. And sheâll have a whole other field day with Granny Diana. Or who knows, maybe sheâll be a serious person.
by Anonymous | reply 246 | June 4, 2022 10:05 PM |
Meghan needs to write herself a new script. She should have stayed in CA and tended to her father and worked on a speech where she could try to right the wrongs she has inflicted on Harry and the Royal family by turning him against them. If she can show forgiveness with grace, and that's a big "if," and try to fix what she has done, along with Harry in an interview, it would be a great way to fulfill their Netflix obligations.
by Anonymous | reply 247 | June 4, 2022 10:05 PM |
R247 Ha! Youâre delusional! Narcissists like her are never wrong in their minds and THEY are the victim as far as theyâre concerned. She will never apologize or admit what she could have done differently.
by Anonymous | reply 249 | June 4, 2022 10:09 PM |
Harry is not a victim or blameless. Heâs a grown man! Meghanâs a shrew and itâs easy to blame her, but heâs just as bad, if not worse. He wasnât led, she just egged him on.
by Anonymous | reply 251 | June 4, 2022 10:12 PM |
If I were directing their Netflix series, I would go for an exclusion narrative. Footage of the couple relegated to lesser spaces, looking on wistfully at the festivities, trading sad but knowing glances. Wistful piano music over the distant roar of the crowds. âWell, thatâs that, then.â Then boarding the plane, and a shot of it flying off into the sunset. Fade out, fade in. Now theyâre back in sunny California, on the beach, frolicking with the kids to the happy sound of crashing waves and upbeat guitar music. Back where they really belong! And then some talking-head reflection on how much the coldness and the boos hurt. Iâm not even joking.
by Anonymous | reply 252 | June 4, 2022 10:14 PM |
Then theyâll sue Netflix for defamation / inaccurate portrayal of their life.
by Anonymous | reply 253 | June 4, 2022 10:15 PM |
If they insist on marinating in their victimhood, Harry and Meghan will never be accepted by either of their blood families.

by Anonymous | reply 258 | June 4, 2022 10:19 PM |
It might be possible, R193, but only with a lengthy period, at least a year or 2, of unselfish acts and kindnesses toward the BRF. I don't see Harry being up to it and it will never happen with the PR they are using now.
by Anonymous | reply 259 | June 4, 2022 10:26 PM |
I bet Harry goes into a real depression once he's back in California. To see all that and know you threw your place in it away. There were choices other than exile and the putting the boot in. Perhaps he'll start to see that now.

Harry blew up his own life. He knew exactly what he was doing marrying Meghan Markle. She was the one who was going to put William and Kate behind him in his delusional little mind. They were to be the "power couple" everyone talked about. He might not have ever inherited the throne, but he had hopes of always being over William. He thought he and Markle could beat the RF over the head with the racism stick and they could do whatever he wanted. Harry bet his future and all of his money on the wrong horse.

R297, I think they will be diminished when the Queen goes. I am not a huge Royal watcher, but I love the Queen. Sheâs an amazing woman. Her reign will be unmatched and multiple generations have grown up with her. I donât think Charles will be that popular, certainly his reign wonât be as long. Heâs too old now and a bit dull. Among the many cards Harry and Meghan have played badly: there will be huge inheritances in the Queen's will and, some years later, in Charles's. That's where the big money is, as they have had the revenues from the Duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall respectively for seven decades. So, you trash the Queen's life's work and go on television accusing the royal family of indifference and racism as the Queen's husband lies dying, and you expect to be treated well in her will? They gambled everything on the mistaken notion that they could become international celebrities who were respected and lionized, and now they are seeing their hopes dimming.
by Anonymous | reply 315 | June 5, 2022 12:54 AM |
Okay... I'm a BIG fan of Diana Ross but nuh-uh... What in the world was she thinking? First, I wondered if she even rehearsed but I then I realized that it wasn't her voice it was that MONSTROUS dress!!! I get that she wanted to do her Queen Diana shtick, (and hide that she's put back on A LOT of weight) but she couldn't negotiate that dress. Besides being ugly it was just too much damn dress! A very mediocre performance from her. Were it not for the lights, the full scale orchestra, and the backup singers, it would have been a total flop.
by Anonymous | reply 316 | June 5, 2022 1:10 AM |
Diana Ross needed someone to help her down the stairs. Her voice gave out at the end, she was talking rather than singing. Her face looked good, though.

The Paddington thing moved me and this line from The Times captured why:
Party at the Palace felt like a passionate â and extremely slick â attempt to pull out all the stops. The energy of the performances and the high production values of the staging made it thrilling to watch, [italics]but there was something else in the mix too, perhaps the sense that everyone involved was celebrating the second Elizabethan age ... but also marking its inevitable passing.[/italics]

The biggest diss was the Queen specifically praising Charles and his âeldest son Williamâ for their conservation efforts. That was a big passion of Harryâs if I recall correctly and he was pissed that William took some affiliated patronage.

And fittingly, in two minutes, HM outshone everyone and their horses! "Answering" the question, "What's in her handbag?"! Tapping the beat on her teacup and saucer to introduce "We Will Rock You"! Showing what graciousness is in dealing with Paddington Bear's clumsiness!
HM ROCKS! đ đ

Love Diana Ross, but with the UK's incredible pedigree in pop and rock music, they couldn't book a homegrown icon to close the show?
Plus, she only really sang one truly iconic song. I like Chain Reaction a lot but that arrangement was terrible. Why mess with the gibb production. I assume it was arranged to accommodate Miss Ross' current capability. Even though she was semi lipsyncing.

Vis-a-vis alcohol, with Brits, it's tough to tell. Going down to the pub for a pint or six is such a part of the culture. I've watched Brits spend 8 straight hours knocking back beer and wine on flights from Bangkok to Sydney and walk off the plane right as rain. This was a satisfying end to the whole saga. We now know where H&M stand in the BRF and how they will be managed if the ever visit again. Charles coronation will be much the same. Harry and Meghan across the aisle and a few seats behind, maybe a window shot.
We also know where they stand in America now. Any engagements they attempt will look like sad royal cosplay. Even Harry's polo club seems all the sadder. They truly have to make their way now, on their own starpower, not as high ranked royals.
This Jubilee literally could not have gone better.

by Anonymous | reply 418 | June 5, 2022 8:39 AM |
R408 This has been explained at least three times. It isn't surprising at all. The Sussexes were kept out of any situation in which they could have tried to approach the Cambridges or the Cornwalls. The reception was a buffet and people mingled freely. No one trusted the Sussexes not to try to get themselves a photo OP with his father or brother and their wives that would take up headlines and give the Sussexes a chance to gather higher grade toual pixie dust to monetise.
And the other reason was the numerous high-level Cabinet ministers there. Harry is suing the Home Office over his security status, and the Home Sectetary was amongst the guests.
It was a situation in which no one sane would have unleashed H&M to roam freely, grazing for PR.
After Meghan's little performance with the kiddies behind the windows of the Trooping the Colour, and rolling down the limo windows of when leaving to smile at the crowds (done if whom booed), it's clear all the decisions were wise.
Meghan, especially, cannot be trusted, she cannot control herself.
And, there are many rumours floating that she was wired, hoping for "material" for Netflix.
I hope they were screened electronically before lunch with the Queen and the meeting with Charles.
The children are there, don't be silly. No photo ops with the kids was probably another condition. If the Queen allowed one privately at that meeting, it will be hers, not theirs, and I'm sure she'll release it when she wants to.
It is reported that the Sussexes held an informal birthday celebration for Lilubet yesterday, attended by "some second cousins", which probably means the York grandchildren and maybe the Tindalls.
But not the Queen, as the bawling bullshit tabs excitedly predicted.
Next: the secret christening of Lilibet at Windsor. Right.
On to the pageant and perhaps one last heroic balcony appearance by HM accompanied by the Cornwalls and Cambridges.
Likely the last time we will ever see her there.

R418 How lovely it is that Kate and the kids are shown to be just like the rest of us schlubs. Except that they have maids and cooks and butlers and nannies and gofers who can pop round to Tesco or Fortnum and Mason or Harrods to pick up a few dozen cupcakes for the show. Then it's simply a matter of appropriate oh look they're just like us clothing, some kitchen utensils, set up the shots, snap snap and Bob's yer uncle. Then the nannies take the kids away, the maid's clean up and Kate goes off to her next appointment.
I will be a blithering mess when the Old Girl finally goes. But I resent this blatant pandering to the lowest common denominator masses.

I take no pleasure in writing that I wouldn't be surprised if Harry has a mental breakdown. I wouldn't be surprised if domestic violence happens initiated by either of them.
Of course, it's entirely possible their presence at the Jubilee only reinforced, in their minds, their decision to leave. They been deluded so far about their appeal, such as it is.
Now what?
Assuming that Markle is still capable of taking a cold, hard, look at their situation, I'll bet she files for divorce first.
If the speculation has merit that their financial resources are dwindling, and they're hanging by the fingernails, hoping Harry's book is a hit, well, good luck with that.
(And, I know that some here state that Markle will never file for divorce because staying Harry's wife is all she has going for her, but I'm not persuaded.)
As a poster upthread noted, both Q E II and Charles aren't immortal, but their money is, and will be distributed among the children and grandchildren, but perhaps, not to you if you're on the outs with them.
If only they had toughed it out. Perhaps they'd have been sitting on the other side of William, shown laughing together and enjoying the concert.
The Sussexes blew it.

The DM article about Lidl's birthday party was very carefully worded: it says the "royal children" aka cousins were "invited" to the birthday party. No where does it confirm if any of them actually went to the party. I thought it was Meghan's PR but now I thinking the DM made it all up to troll them.

I feel like the press (and most here) will not relent until we all fully hate Harry and Meghan. If they hadnât appeared in some capacity for the celebrations, everyone would be ripping on them too (how disrespectful!) They canât win, ever. Her family is gross and despicable, as is the press who hang on their every loser-grudging words.
Theyâve made lots of missteps surely (Oprah, book and TV deals) but it seems like they canât just be. They disappeared for a long time after leaving the royal family and were criticized for that, only disclosed their whereabouts and a picture of Archie when the neighbors found out. If they are such media whores, where are the pictures of their children, only a few out there. Few pictures of them in California except for the polo. Being famous and royal does not seem fun at all.

by Anonymous | reply 448 | June 5, 2022 1:02 PM |
I get that there are folks who are addicted to attention. I think they don't understand, but too much PR leads to fatigue on the part of the public. Harry & Meghan are starting to reach that tipping point. They are too old to appeal to the kids on line. He's balding, his looks fading. It is now clear he lied about wanting to be Just Harry, see his sulking looks with Lady Chatto at St. Paul's, as well as a myriad of other things.. No one is going to cry for his being deprived of money by the RF & the British taxpayer as they have to figure out how to pay for gas to get to their jobs. Polo is not an American sport, or a high level international one, so who cares when he plays.
Too bad they didn't put some money into a good strategist, maybe they did. Too late to mend fences with the RF. They got their number, so does much of the rest of the world. See Boos at St.Paul's.

Their principal problem within the family is they have utterly shattered trust. It's hard enough to forgive someone who has betrayed your trust in regular life. They have a whole monarchy at stake. They are fucked as long as they are married. Only Harry could come back and that depends on whether he sorts himself out or not.

by Anonymous | reply 456 | June 5, 2022 1:27 PM |
Beyond leaving the monarchy in a huff, the Oprah interview, and their Netflix contract, they've conducted themselves in a way that evidences their unsuitability for being formal royals or personal family members. Their PR alone was damaging until the general public caught onto their games. Do Harry and Meghan not realize the government have the ability to track the origin of certain PR and share that info with the royal family? Regardless of her titular role, the Queen and those who work on her behalf are a tool of the government. The government is not going to let a couple of grasping cokeheads in any meaningful proximity to the institution.

It sounds kind of ridiculous at this point saying if they divorce he might be able to come back. They have kids together, itâs not like he can just pick up and leave the country. Harry, who is not a victim, is stuck stateside for the next 17 years if he wants to be close to his kids. Within that time, Williamâs kids will be be of age and it wonât matter anymore.
by Anonymous | reply 460 | June 5, 2022 1:40 PM |

The State Coach has a hologram or something of the queen sitting inside, very effective.
by Anonymous | reply 463 | June 5, 2022 1:50 PM |
Yes, heâs stuck. The best thing for them would be to scale back their ambitions, downsize to a less grand home, and find something real to do. For example, I think Meghan should drop the humanitarian thing and just revive her lifestyle blog. At least it would be something upbeat and positive. Harry can continue with polo and maybe veterans charities. And maybe if they keep visiting the UK regularly, people will get used to them and sort of grudgingly tolerate them again. Thatâs my expert advice anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 464 | June 5, 2022 1:51 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 468 | June 5, 2022 1:57 PM |
R462, sorry, but youâre delusional. If they divorce, he is most definitely still stuck. She is not moving back to England. Unless she gives up custody, he is staying in America. You canât be a working Royal and live even part time in America. Not to mention the ill will he will still have amongst his family. He can spend time in the UK of course, but will he leave his kids for months at a time? Unlikely, unless he wants even more bad press. I donât see him crossing the Atlantic on a weekly basis. Harry as the public knew him pre Meghan is gone for good.

R433 That's a joke, right?
The DM has thrown enough shade at those two to cover Britain. They cover their arses with the occasional anodyne piece like Lilibet's birthday, and a Duchess Dazzles In!
They've been on the receiving end of legal actions by the Sussexes three times, and Harry has one going for defamation right now.

Here's how it's described
The main acts of the Jubilee Pageant For Queen and Country
Following a pre-show and "Once Upon a Time" performance, the first act will recognise the services of the armed forces and will feature a spectacular military parade.
The Time of Our Lives
This will be followed by a joyful and lively presentation of the seven decades of the Queen's reign, paying homage to culture, music, dance, and fashion.
Let's Celebrate
Telling the story of the Queen's life in 12 chapters, this act will include corgi puppets, carnival creations, and different dances.
Happy and Glorious
The final act will be a grand musical spectacle, featuring a performance by Ed Sheeran and a rendition of the National Anthem.

Most entertaining:
Louis does it again: Mischievous prince delights with his funny faces He delighted the internet with his funny faces on the Buckingham Palace balcony on Thursday, and Prince Louis looked set to do the same at Sunday's pageant as he made a series of hilarious expressions while watching the celebrations.
Much to the Duchess of Cambridgeâs amusement - and occasional displeasure - the four-year-old prince thumbed his nose, yawned and covered his face with his hands in an exasperated gesture after seemingly becoming fed up with the parade.
He was also pictured seemingly pointing at Boris Johnson while looking at his mother with a slightly bemused expression.

R558 She's a 96 year old woman with mobility problems and is probably in pain what the fuck do you want?
by Anonymous | reply 559 | June 5, 2022 4:10 PM |
Soon HM will be reunited with her love, her sister and her father and mother, to live forever in peace.
by Anonymous | reply 560 | June 5, 2022 4:10 PM |
G-d Save the Queen!!
by Anonymous | reply 561 | June 5, 2022 4:11 PM |
She really is remarkably in good shape for her age, but I guess whatâs worrying is the marked decline over the last year. If itâs been stabilized, she may have a few, or many, years left. If not, probably not more than a year.

Did anybody else laugh (charmed) at the Tindalls groovin' out to Dancing Queen? I thought it was awesome!
by Anonymous | reply 563 | June 5, 2022 4:14 PM |
Seeing DL's old Kweens orgasms over The Old Queen is très amusant. Thanks for the laugh.
by Anonymous | reply 564 | June 5, 2022 4:16 PM |
Some day, R564, maybe you'll find the good feeling in liking something and connecting with something, instead of spending all your time trying to cancel everybody else. But I don't know what you'll ever have to look back on with fondness, given what a grim lot you all are.
by Anonymous | reply 565 | June 5, 2022 4:18 PM |
Youâre a bitter little piece of shit, arenât you R564?
I feel sorry for you and anyone who has to endure your presence.
by Anonymous | reply 566 | June 5, 2022 4:21 PM |
R564 = dumb American.
by Anonymous | reply 567 | June 5, 2022 4:22 PM |
R564, never mind, luv. Youâll do better next time.
by Anonymous | reply 569 | June 5, 2022 4:28 PM |
Love the queen and it does bring a tear to my eye this is probably her last time on the balcony
by Anonymous | reply 570 | June 5, 2022 4:29 PM |
Really, R368? For an event of this magnitude in the US, I think top acts would be glad to be a part. It is a historical event that has not happened in centuries. The details will be documented and will associate performers with history. I'm not British, but a special holiday and a year or more of preparation with the historical context would seem to make this quite important.
by Anonymous | reply 571 | June 5, 2022 4:30 PM |
One is terribly glad to be done with all that.
by Anonymous | reply 572 | June 5, 2022 4:31 PM |
Like many British people I'm what I'd call a soft republican. The concept of a monarchy where the eldest child is given the power to become head of state and those born into the bloodline are given privileges and titles is just totally bizarre, especially when you have a crisis around those who want to step away from the responsibility (Harry) and those who should be stripped of their responsibilities (Andrew).
But the alternative is a divisive and polarised election where populists put themselves forward as a president.
Charles and William are therefore preferable to any alternatives so I'm mostly supportive of them.
by Anonymous | reply 573 | June 5, 2022 4:42 PM |
R509 Hey, fucktard. I'm th OP here and on Part II.
Take your pompous arse somewhere else. And you're blocked.
The rest of us are only bored by your strident whingeing.
by Anonymous | reply 574 | June 5, 2022 4:57 PM |
This was fucking fabulous, all four days. I got choked up at the anthem today, knowing this is probably the last time I'd hear it and see her up there, together.
So many people predicted a bust.
We always surprise outsiders.
by Anonymous | reply 575 | June 5, 2022 5:03 PM |
It was such a huge, massive event. Coordinating all the participants, the special effects, security, transport, everythingâŚmind boggling. Kudos to the organizers, I hope they get a monthâs holiday to recuperate. AFAICT, it all went off without a hitch. I did see a riderless horse at the Trooping of Color and a vintage Jag (?) broke down during the parade and had to be pushed. Tens of thousands of spectators and no one was stabbed/shot. What a spectacle.

Iâm bawling.
And sitting in my car.
by Anonymous | reply 578 | June 5, 2022 5:16 PM |
R566, you won if she's resorting to revenge memes.

R567 Smart American not paying for a worthless lot.
by Anonymous | reply 580 | June 5, 2022 5:17 PM |
You paid for the Trumps, dear, that's worth at least a thousand years of British monarchy.
by Anonymous | reply 581 | June 5, 2022 5:19 PM |
^ Maybe not. Heard Biden's sister, that big brain suggested the US taxpayer should pay for Smegans security.

Louis is so cute.
by Anonymous | reply 585 | June 5, 2022 5:49 PM |
DM is anything but a shill for H&M. They purposely run these sugary fawning articles to get clicks and incite the readers.
It's their style. Like when they run photos of an aged and very aged-looking ex-star taking out the garbage and rave at how glamorous she still looks. Cue the comments!
by Anonymous | reply 586 | June 5, 2022 5:51 PM |
At least these two will let you fuck em for rent money.
by Anonymous | reply 587 | June 5, 2022 6:00 PM |
I wish nothing but the best for the old gal, but all this pomp & circumstance makes me wonder what pageantry is in store for the Queen's funeral.
As my mother would say, Louis is headed the right way for a spanking. Kate looks annoyed with him, but all the kids look antsy. It's probably been a really long weekend for them.
by Anonymous | reply 588 | June 5, 2022 6:10 PM |
What should be the saddest sight for the Sussexes in all this is not Kate and William centre-stage, but Louis on Grandad Next King's lap. That's what they've deprived their kids of, far more than a balcony appearance.
The roar of the thousands on the Mall when the three generations came out could not be mistaken.
The Platinum Jubilee, as the Queen, it now seems clear, intended it should, served to build a soft but visible bridge between the past and the future.
"It's time to recognise that we are now far closer to one side of that bridge than the other," she seems to be saying. I think it takes courage, in her case likely supported by deep religious faith, to acknowledge that privately and to the world.
by Anonymous | reply 589 | June 5, 2022 6:25 PM |
R589 has a really good point. There is something wonderful about having loving grandparents. The Sussexes have made it impossible for their children to know either of their grandfathers. They've also frozen out the aunts, uncles, and cousins who can enrich a family. For all their emphasis on family, the Sussexes really don't know how to love their own extended families.
by Anonymous | reply 590 | June 5, 2022 6:54 PM |
R575 many watched it worldwide. I hope it won't be the last time we see her on the balcony. She was so active prior to COVID, despite the death of her husband, and having to stop her activity really affected her. When older people have to suspend activity it does take a toll unless they can return to it. I hope she gets to spend a lot of time at Balmoral this summer, moving around increasingly and getting some strength and stamina back.
by Anonymous | reply 591 | June 5, 2022 7:03 PM |
There is something really valuable about an extended family network, it helps kids have a wider perspective of the world and not just the parents reality.
by Anonymous | reply 592 | June 5, 2022 7:03 PM |
I hope she gets to spend a lot of time at Balmoral this summer, moving around increasingly and getting some strength and stamina back.
I think she's as good as she can be, right now. She didn't show up for most of the Jubilee, which is symbolically important. She's started to pave the way for Charles and even Camilla.
by Anonymous | reply 593 | June 5, 2022 7:05 PM |
Really, R580? What do you call 4 years of Trump, family and cronies? They helped themselves to a fortune at taxpayer expense, not to mention causing considerable damage to the whole country and setting in motion a slow-rolling coup that continues to this day.
by Anonymous | reply 594 | June 5, 2022 7:10 PM |
R590 I agree, Harry and Meghan are suddenly coming across as even worse than before. They are denying their children a relationship with grandparents and extended family, other than Meghanâs mum, they really do seem awful and unlikable. I think that this whole jubilee weekend has been a real eye opener for them, and they probably realise how badly theyâve fucked up.
by Anonymous | reply 596 | June 5, 2022 7:11 PM |
" . . . and they probably realise how badly theyâve fucked up."
Talk about delusion, right here on DL. For people like those two, it is now and always will be somebody else's fault.
by Anonymous | reply 597 | June 5, 2022 7:28 PM |
R597 - Diana was exactly the same way. The failure of her marriage in the early days, when with her youth and beauty and a bit of savvy she could have seen Camilla off, were hers. She was emotionally demanding and draining, and that's the last sort of thing Charles responds to.
Later on, of course, Charles provided her with an easy villain. But it takes two to tango, as my sainted Mum used to say (and who was a terrific dancer, something she did not, unfortunately, pass on to me). But those early failures, when Diana got angry when Charles observed protocol up at Balmoral by serving afternoon drinks to his grandmother, first, were very much hers.
by Anonymous | reply 598 | June 5, 2022 7:52 PM |
R597 Of course they will blame everyone else, but they can still do that despite realising they have fucked up. The new A list life with multiple million dollar contracts doesnât seem to be going anywhere, and they certainly wonât be welcome back here in the U.K.
by Anonymous | reply 599 | June 5, 2022 7:52 PM |
Rr598 True BUT Diana was a sheltered teenager. H&M are pushing 40.
by Anonymous | reply 600 | June 5, 2022 7:55 PM |
R598, as itâs apparent in the book about her by Tina Brown, she was demanding and draining because her husband did not love her. She was definitely acting out (she was barely out of her teens).
by Anonymous | reply 601 | June 5, 2022 7:55 PM |
R571, It is a historical event that has never before happened. Period.
