Well that's the thing! Unless a transperson can pass, really pass, they will never be given the attention lavished on attractive women, or the respect given to big strong men. If they do not pass they will usually be treated as freaks or others, and if they partially pass they may get treated as unappealing members of the sex they identify as - as wimpy little guys or ugly women.

And that ought to be the first thing said to kids who want to transition, that the medical transition won't make you into a big strong boy or a pretty girl. There really needs to be pre-transition counseling offered where the realities are discussed.
