Well, one of my favorite shows is coming back with a Season 2 on HGTV: Bargain Block.

I love this show because:

1.) They are creating homes for first-time homeowners.

2.) They are helping to revitalize Detroit.

3.) Their homes are not cookie-cutter.

4.) They are saving old, abandoned houses.

5.) They sleep in each house as they are renovating them. That brings on, hot, kinky, sweaty, fantasies for me... (and hopefully for them)

I want the tall one to raw dog me relentlessly.

They kept for themselves one of the houses they renovated last season. No more schlepping from house to house. Don't remember which one, but it was toward the end of the season.

House Hunters participants already are under contract at their chosen home and in some cases have lived there for some time already.

The new season of 'Bargain Block' started last night on HGTV.

So far, the reception seems to be quite enthusiastic, with neighbors thankful for saving their areas from more decay and abandonment. Most of these homes have been empty for many years. And they use their profits to buy more abandoned homes.

That said, they don't work alone. I wish they would show more of their crew and hear their thoughts on the work.

R50 It's HGTV - we're seeing a very carefully selected batch of responses. It does seem positive so far, but these scenarios always devolve into concerns about gentrification. Which are valid in some cases (not sure if these neighborhoods would really be susceptible to that, though).
