They are amusing to watch defending him as he defends his character in Time Traveling Dude grooming his wife since she was 6.

The reviews of Time Traveler's Wife are deadly. The viewership dismal as well. I guess they're hoping the kinkier aspects will draw in more viewers.

The makers of Sanditon should have secured his services for more than one season. His character, the romantic lead, was awkwardly written out in an off-screen death between seasons.

The Time Traveler's Wife is a misogynist mess of a story written by a weird author who claims she modeled the female character after herself and a sexist writer (Steven Moffat) who has been rationalizing grooming the little girl into the woman the Time Traveler wants her to be in the future - a woman totally into him in every way and willing to spend her life waiting on his returns - and robbing her of any free will. It's very disturbing .

I didn't think a handsome actor could have less charisma than dead-eyed Jamie Dornan but here's Theo James coming to prove me wrong.

Yes, he's ridiculously pretty, with probably the best skin of anyone, male or female, in Hollywood, but Daniel Craig was also quite soft when first given the role.

I don't think Craig was "soft" when he was first given the role. He was best known in the US for playing a malevolent character in The Road to Perdition and his immediate prior films to being cast as Bond were as taciturn characters in films like Enduring Love and Munich.

Ben Hardy definitely has a glorious body, but I've yet to see him play a character with a hard edge.

I love Jack Lowden...but he's Robin. Batman's Robin. He is tough and scrappy and he is sidekick material on the big screen. I honestly believe he would be a huge success on the small screen. He's definitely TV.

It won't be Joe Alywn. He's too tepid - a milksop without any of the fire and menace of Bond. The connection with Taybore Swift is emasculating, not exciting.

Think of all the running and jumping and physicality of the role, and think of the fact that Bond is not conventionally handsome, but he is sexy, and he also has that quality of being watchful. Like, you can see the wheels turning. He's not chatty. So I think to predict who it might be, you have to first build the framework by developing a profile of who Bond is. And lord knows we now have decades of Bonds to draw from. He's edgy, and can be menacing, but he is also charming, suave, quick, and mentally sharp.

He looks like a villain.

Madden fits that profile but I don't think they'll go for a Marvel superhero.

What I found interesting about their choice of Daniel Craig, is that he had been around for a while. He wasn't some hot "new" thing. I like Rege Jean Page but he is the "hot right now " guy, IMO. So this makes me think Broccoli and company may take a good look at Tom Hardy. He certainly fits the Craig mold. But then again, that may be exactly why they don't choose him. Chiwetel Ejiofor and Daniel Oyelowo are long shots but possible if they want to have a Bllack Bond.

I think Madden would be great, but he’ll be too old by the time filming ever starts, and since they’re going to “re-invent” Bond, you know that means a minority.

Gen Y is millennials, many of whom are in their late 30s and early 40s now... you mean Gen Z, most of whom are in their 20s and late teens. I don't know any 26-year-old who's into James Bond, and these films tend to skew older, so I don't know how that strategy will pay off if it's true.

All entertainment franchises have to find a way to appeal to newer, younger audiences or eventually they die out. The old-school core Bond audience is aging out, so naturally they have to find a way to make it appeal to newer demographics.

Obviously veering too far off the classic foundation probably wouldn't fare well, and they don't need to. But every so often, yes, you have to freshen it up. Taking classic Bond and making him just a bit younger is a no-brainer (if they decide to go that way). Not as if the franchise hasn't every so slightly reinvented itself before.

Far more likely to go Asian than Black.

A bit younger is early 30s, not early to mid 20s (Gen Z). At this point they're not going to make anyone happy when they finally announce it!

The reason Fleming created a rather typical looking British bloke is because he wasn't supposed to stand out so he could do his job without too much notice. As in blend in. Not too handsome, not too physically perfect, nothing exotic. Just blendable. The fact that he wasn't model-pretty made the exploits more exciting. Especially for the reader/viewer. Granted the films made him more handsome.

If he were younger, then I think Michael Fassbender would have been perfect. And he can act. Though I'm not sure that's really necessary with the newer more action-oriented scripts.

Theo James always seems too sinister. I have seen him in romantic scenes with Michelle Dockery, Shailene Woodley and Rose Williams and each love scene came off as a potential assault. He just has that energy. And he seems totally normal in interviews so I’m not casting aspersions on his character.

Dornan would be an interesting choice. I thought he was quite convincing as a conflicted but essentially sociopathic serial killer. He also seems comfortable in his own skin off screen. James, for all his physical prettiness, is just not a good actor. He seems too up tight and incapable of giving natural and convincing portrayals for the most part. That unnatural, sort of trying-too-hard demeanor can be seen even in interviews. Is he like that in real life?
