Academy Awards Official Thread PART 2

Who will win? Who looks the best? Timmy wins for men.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 630March 28, 2022 3:09 AM

Timmy better watch his back monopolizing the uber cute boy look. Elliot Page is in the house with a shiv.

by Anonymousreply 1March 27, 2022 11:53 PM

R1 omg imagine if Elliott showed up like that lmao

by Anonymousreply 2March 27, 2022 11:55 PM

Rachel Zegler looks beautiful

by Anonymousreply 3March 27, 2022 11:55 PM

Rachel Zegler worked the carpet and posing with all the subtlety of a new young hooker on the sidewalk.

by Anonymousreply 4March 27, 2022 11:58 PM

I’m sensing DL doesn’t like the way the new kids in Hollywood carry themselves

by Anonymousreply 5March 28, 2022 12:00 AM

Rachel Zegler is a whiny cunt who shouldn't be there.

by Anonymousreply 6March 28, 2022 12:01 AM

She probably won't be back.

by Anonymousreply 7March 28, 2022 12:01 AM

why the fuck is this here when we're only on 406 on the first thread?

by Anonymousreply 8March 28, 2022 12:02 AM

What is that gold blob of lard on the far right of that TC photo??

by Anonymousreply 9March 28, 2022 12:02 AM

Riz didn't win last year but just won for live action short

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 10March 28, 2022 12:05 AM

Can't be bothered watching. When I wake-up tomorrow, every radio and TV station will tell me who won.

by Anonymousreply 11March 28, 2022 12:06 AM

Rachel Zegler is a variant of Lea Michele.

by Anonymousreply 12March 28, 2022 12:06 AM

[quote] Riz didn't win last year but just won for live action short

And nobody beats the Riz.

by Anonymousreply 13March 28, 2022 12:08 AM

LMAO That’s hilarious…recognizing Riz Ahmed as the first Muslim winner in an untelevised category. Anyway, I’m sure he’ll become even more insufferable.

by Anonymousreply 14March 28, 2022 12:08 AM

Forget Timotay. Look at the daddy in glasses behind him. Looks like he's checking out Timotay's slender figure from behind.

by Anonymousreply 15March 28, 2022 12:10 AM

Timeé looks absurd.

Grow up.

by Anonymousreply 16March 28, 2022 12:11 AM

His hair looks bigger than his chest.

by Anonymousreply 17March 28, 2022 12:13 AM

Can someone explain how Riz won an Oscar for the film when he neither produced nor directed it? He acted in it and was a co-writer.

by Anonymousreply 18March 28, 2022 12:13 AM

Not the least bit attracted to or interested in Timothée but he looks good in that picture. Usually he seems in need of a shower and a healthy breakfast.

by Anonymousreply 19March 28, 2022 12:15 AM

Nichole looks hideous. That face!

by Anonymousreply 20March 28, 2022 12:17 AM

Since when do gentlemen show up to the Academy Awards shirtless? Is Timmy cosplaying as Shawn Mendes at the Met? This is getting ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 21March 28, 2022 12:30 AM

Ugh...they dropped the cinematography and editing awards from the broadcast to make room for this horse shit.

by Anonymousreply 22March 28, 2022 12:31 AM

When #metoo does not apply to males.

by Anonymousreply 23March 28, 2022 12:33 AM

R21 I was thinking the same thing.

Oh Timmy, I think I can count your vertebrae - are they not feeding you hun?

by Anonymousreply 24March 28, 2022 12:34 AM

Neither Shawn nor Timothee are going to age well. They're not aging well now.

by Anonymousreply 25March 28, 2022 12:34 AM

The White Men Can’t Jump crew aged well.

by Anonymousreply 26March 28, 2022 12:37 AM

Timothee looks like shit.

by Anonymousreply 27March 28, 2022 12:37 AM

Geez half the womens' outfits look like they were made from gaudy couch covers.

by Anonymousreply 28March 28, 2022 12:37 AM

delish!

by Anonymousreply 29March 28, 2022 12:37 AM

Wesley Snipes looks like a Twizzler.

by Anonymousreply 30March 28, 2022 12:38 AM

YUM-OOOOOOOOOOOO

by Anonymousreply 31March 28, 2022 12:38 AM

Where is Gaga????

by Anonymousreply 32March 28, 2022 12:38 AM

Yes! Is GAGA there?

by Anonymousreply 33March 28, 2022 12:39 AM

the way things are going it looks like The Power of the Dog might lose every category (except Director) - despite being the most nominated film this year

by Anonymousreply 34March 28, 2022 12:39 AM

Did Bey win?

by Anonymousreply 35March 28, 2022 12:39 AM

30th anniversary of White Men Can't Jump. Glad that remembered that total classic...

by Anonymousreply 36March 28, 2022 12:39 AM

JADA?

by Anonymousreply 37March 28, 2022 12:40 AM

It’s interesting how female predatory behavior is funny just a few years after MeToo.

by Anonymousreply 38March 28, 2022 12:40 AM

And this hideous beast

by Anonymousreply 39March 28, 2022 12:40 AM

[quote] 30th anniversary of White Men Can't Jump. Glad that remembered that total classic...

they are trying to appeal to a multi-racial younger audience this year

by Anonymousreply 40March 28, 2022 12:40 AM

[quote]Dune? WTF piece of crap movie. So stupid.

Dune is likely to win more awards than any other film tonight.

by Anonymousreply 41March 28, 2022 12:40 AM

Dune was beautiful but a snore.

by Anonymousreply 42March 28, 2022 12:41 AM

exactly r38.

by Anonymousreply 43March 28, 2022 12:41 AM

Timothee's date is Armie

by Anonymousreply 44March 28, 2022 12:41 AM

[quote] Did Bey win?

?

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 45March 28, 2022 12:41 AM

Dune was beautiful and well done.

by Anonymousreply 46March 28, 2022 12:41 AM

Will GaGa be singing that Bruno song in place of LMM?

by Anonymousreply 47March 28, 2022 12:41 AM

The song winner hasn’t been announced!

by Anonymousreply 48March 28, 2022 12:41 AM

Is Dog going to be Crashed?

by Anonymousreply 49March 28, 2022 12:41 AM

R38 No, it's unfunny and way overlong.

by Anonymousreply 50March 28, 2022 12:42 AM

Meow, damn this thread is catty.

by Anonymousreply 51March 28, 2022 12:42 AM

Who is at Elton John's party? Probably all the missing A listers?

by Anonymousreply 52March 28, 2022 12:42 AM

Almost an hour in and 3 awards. This is turning into the Grammy awards

by Anonymousreply 53March 28, 2022 12:42 AM

Dunst didn’t deserve to win for that performance. The nomination was the award for her.

by Anonymousreply 54March 28, 2022 12:42 AM

I'd say White Men Can't Jump is a classic by this point.

by Anonymousreply 55March 28, 2022 12:42 AM

Dune looks amazing but it's so slow and I dont usually mind slow movies.

by Anonymousreply 56March 28, 2022 12:42 AM

We will see a bunch Hulu promos for Candy and Girl from Planville. I have admit both shows look good.

by Anonymousreply 57March 28, 2022 12:42 AM

This is exactly why all the awards no one gives a shit about should be presented off camera

by Anonymousreply 58March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

Twitter loves Regina Hall

by Anonymousreply 59March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

[quote] they are trying to appeal to a multi-racial younger audience this year

And what better way to do it than with a 30 year old movie no one remembers with a 60-something year old cast!

by Anonymousreply 60March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

Euphoria has made Elordi into a big star.

by Anonymousreply 61March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

I said it once and I’ll say it again, Timmy looks like a two bit Marseille WHORE tonight.

by Anonymousreply 62March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

[quote]Meow, damn this thread is catty.

I'm hoping it gets cattier.

by Anonymousreply 63March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

R53 is this the first time you have seen the Oscars?

by Anonymousreply 64March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

Are any male persons of color nominated? Timmy? Jacob Elordi?

by Anonymousreply 65March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

[quote] Is Dog going to be Crashed?

I think Dune is going to sweep all the technical awards

and Coda will win Best Picture - the opening monologue said it best about "Dog"

"I still halfway understanding it, after watching it three times!"

by Anonymousreply 66March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

White Men Can’t Jump is remembered

by Anonymousreply 67March 28, 2022 12:43 AM

Just one category so far?

by Anonymousreply 68March 28, 2022 12:44 AM

R65 what would Elordi be nominated for?

by Anonymousreply 69March 28, 2022 12:44 AM

Sam Levinson loves to murder that Elordi-hole.

by Anonymousreply 70March 28, 2022 12:44 AM

r63 I hope it gets funnier.

by Anonymousreply 71March 28, 2022 12:44 AM

r62, Querelle?

by Anonymousreply 72March 28, 2022 12:44 AM

Branagh looks good - he’s aging quite nicely

by Anonymousreply 73March 28, 2022 12:45 AM

They should have done A League of Their Own reunion instead of White Men Can't Jump.

by Anonymousreply 74March 28, 2022 12:45 AM

Timothee Chalemet is beautiful and well done.

by Anonymousreply 75March 28, 2022 12:45 AM

For everyone complaining about the covid comedy bit where she patted down Brolin and Momoa, here's something you need to figure out...

Men and women are different.

by Anonymousreply 76March 28, 2022 12:45 AM

R70 Hopefully not that organ transplant movie, it was tragic and I’m not talking about the dead guy.

by Anonymousreply 77March 28, 2022 12:45 AM

Two years from now will be the 40th anniversary of Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogalo. I certainly hope the Academy recognizes that milestone.

by Anonymousreply 78March 28, 2022 12:46 AM

My, he really is quite full of himself, isn't he?

I know I should be able to separate the actors from the characters, but between him and the cannibal, they're ruining that movie for me.

by Anonymousreply 79March 28, 2022 12:46 AM

It's Rachel!!

"I did it."

Yeah, honey, well played. Now where is Oscar winner Ariana???

by Anonymousreply 80March 28, 2022 12:46 AM

Another boring telecast

by Anonymousreply 81March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

It's clear who the decrepit frau cunts are in this thread, like R38.

by Anonymousreply 82March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

Dune is taking the awards tonight..

by Anonymousreply 83March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

Who is Thumbelina next to Elordi?

by Anonymousreply 84March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

Ugh I hope the Zegler cunt goes the fuck away after her whiny debacle.

by Anonymousreply 85March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

Is Diane Keaton there for the 50th anniversary of The Godfather?

by Anonymousreply 86March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

[qujote[ Men and women are different.

Huh?

by Anonymousreply 87March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

Regina is a hit with the public!

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 88March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

It went a bridge too far when she started grabbing them r76, it's that simple. Can't believe no one thought to say maybe this isn't a good idea.

by Anonymousreply 89March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

[quote]They should have done A League of Their Own reunion instead of White Men Can't Jump.

That’s what I said!

by Anonymousreply 90March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

I'm calling bullshit on Rachel Ziegler "not being invited" to the Oscars -- she was the star of a Best Picture nominee!

And boy, is she milking that "controversy".

by Anonymousreply 91March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

Dune is killing it!

by Anonymousreply 92March 28, 2022 12:47 AM

Is there a specific reason they are using Earth Wind & Fire's Fantasy when the winners get up from their seats?

I mean, I love the song but what is the connection?

by Anonymousreply 93March 28, 2022 12:48 AM

Zegler is tiny...

by Anonymousreply 94March 28, 2022 12:48 AM

Another boring award category for the boring movie Dune and another boring speech moment that no one gives a fuck about.

by Anonymousreply 95March 28, 2022 12:48 AM

Jake G. couldn’t get a date? Bradley C. brings his midget mother? Where’s Brendad Ickson’s Red Carpet look?

by Anonymousreply 96March 28, 2022 12:48 AM

It would have fun if it was revealed that it wasn’t Rachel, but Joey King.

by Anonymousreply 97March 28, 2022 12:48 AM

Dune? Seriously? Is everyone a 13 year old boy now?

by Anonymousreply 98March 28, 2022 12:48 AM

Elordi has a large, black mole on his chest. It's disgusting.

by Anonymousreply 99March 28, 2022 12:48 AM

Uma is there!

by Anonymousreply 100March 28, 2022 12:48 AM

R91 She reminds me of whiny crybaby Jada.

by Anonymousreply 101March 28, 2022 12:48 AM

Amy Schumers monologue was great r81.

by Anonymousreply 102March 28, 2022 12:49 AM

[quote] Is everyone a 13 year old boy now?

by Anonymousreply 103March 28, 2022 12:49 AM

R96, Brendad is busy stuffing Gelson's potato salad into her cooch.

by Anonymousreply 104March 28, 2022 12:49 AM

R99 IT’S A BIRTHMARK!

by Anonymousreply 105March 28, 2022 12:49 AM

I'd give both my testicles for anyone but Will Smith to win Best Actor.

by Anonymousreply 106March 28, 2022 12:50 AM

[quote] Dune? Seriously?

The awards DUNE is winning are the technical awards - NOT the directing or screenwriting

Now if "Dog" was sweeping the awards right now, then they be on the way to Best Picture,

But it looks like CODA will win Best Picture.

by Anonymousreply 107March 28, 2022 12:50 AM

How is his hair not red?!

by Anonymousreply 108March 28, 2022 12:50 AM

Dune deserves to sweep the technical awards r98. No matter what you think of the movie it was an achievement in spectacle.

by Anonymousreply 109March 28, 2022 12:50 AM

Kelly Slater is TRASH.

by Anonymousreply 110March 28, 2022 12:50 AM

[quote] Brendad is busy stuffing Gelson's potato salad into her cooch.

Soffa.

by Anonymousreply 111March 28, 2022 12:50 AM

Okay I’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t know Regina Hall and Regina King were 2 different people.

by Anonymousreply 112March 28, 2022 12:50 AM

[quote]Dune? Seriously? Is everyone a 13 year old boy now?

It’s winning technical awards, deservedly so.

by Anonymousreply 113March 28, 2022 12:50 AM

A major earthquake about now would add more entertainment value.

by Anonymousreply 114March 28, 2022 12:50 AM

Bond. James Bond.

by Anonymousreply 115March 28, 2022 12:51 AM

Is this leading up to who the new Bond is announcement?

by Anonymousreply 116March 28, 2022 12:51 AM

[quote] Okay I’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t know Regina Hall and Regina King were 2 different people.

That's racist!

by Anonymousreply 117March 28, 2022 12:51 AM

R110, BURNING HOT TRASH!

by Anonymousreply 118March 28, 2022 12:51 AM

Bring back Amy!

by Anonymousreply 119March 28, 2022 12:51 AM

For some reason I always thought Tony Hawk is tiny, but he’s towering over his co-presenters.

by Anonymousreply 120March 28, 2022 12:51 AM

Remember when Bond movies were good?

by Anonymousreply 121March 28, 2022 12:51 AM

So I'm hoping this losing streak "dog" is now suffering, just increases the odds for Troy Kotsur to win Supporting Actor

I know he is an odds-on fave, but anything can happen with the voting

by Anonymousreply 122March 28, 2022 12:51 AM

Can we fuck off with the Bond bullshit? So terrible and cheesy.

by Anonymousreply 123March 28, 2022 12:52 AM

[quote] Men and women are different.

Anti trans statement. Be gone.

by Anonymousreply 124March 28, 2022 12:52 AM

Well, at least they're showing actual movie clips again.

And a James Bond tribute? Didn't they just do that a few Oscars back? Are they gonna trot out Shirley Bassey to sing Goldfinger again?

by Anonymousreply 125March 28, 2022 12:52 AM

My fondest wish for the next Bond movie is no love story.

by Anonymousreply 126March 28, 2022 12:52 AM

Tell that to Mother Nature, moron.

by Anonymousreply 127March 28, 2022 12:52 AM

I feel like they’ve honored Bond already in the past.

by Anonymousreply 128March 28, 2022 12:52 AM

Daniel Craig IS Vladimir Putin…

by Anonymousreply 129March 28, 2022 12:52 AM

Stunning Bond montage.

by Anonymousreply 130March 28, 2022 12:53 AM

Hopefully Dune 2 does more than just look technically amazing.

by Anonymousreply 131March 28, 2022 12:53 AM

Who the hell cares about James Bond anymore?

by Anonymousreply 132March 28, 2022 12:53 AM

I love Bond movies.

by Anonymousreply 133March 28, 2022 12:53 AM

[quote]Okay I’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t know Regina Hall and Regina King were 2 different people.

by Anonymousreply 135March 28, 2022 12:54 AM

by Anonymousreply 136March 28, 2022 12:54 AM

Dune is an utter bore. As is this pathetic excuse of an entertainment show awarding "excellence." Beyond tragic.

by Anonymousreply 137March 28, 2022 12:54 AM

OK, why didn't they follow the Bond montage with the nominated Bond song?

by Anonymousreply 138March 28, 2022 12:55 AM

So far this show is almost making me sentimental about watching Rob Lowe dance with Snow White.

by Anonymousreply 139March 28, 2022 12:55 AM

So the "this is so fucking boring posts" are from one person, right?

by Anonymousreply 140March 28, 2022 12:55 AM

Most people don't care about the Oscars anymore. That's why their ratings are in the tank. They got tired of the political shpeels when all they were interested in were the red carpet fashions.

by Anonymousreply 141March 28, 2022 12:55 AM

The lack of star power this year is noticeable. And a shame given that so many true blue starlets are getting up there in age. Yet, they're trotting out TV stars and music stars? Allan Carr must be rolling over in his grave.

Where's Kim Novak?

Raquel Welch?

Joan Collins?

Shirley Jones?

Shirley Maclaine?

Cher?

Madonna?

And why Tracee Ellis Ross? This is the 50th anniversary of Lady Sings the Blues. Have Diana and Billy go out there and present.

Have Lyza Minnelli and Joel Gray present!

by Anonymousreply 142March 28, 2022 12:55 AM

Can't wait until tomorrow when Mr Blackwell gives his opinion on Timothee's outfit.

by Anonymousreply 143March 28, 2022 12:55 AM

Wasn't Hattie McDaniel a member of the Delores Del Rio's "Sewing Circle". Didn't Tallulah have a taste of the brown sugar?

by Anonymousreply 144March 28, 2022 12:55 AM

Who cares about Bond? It’s a multi-billion franchise, plus there are endless threads on this very site about the casting, etc. So I guess there are still a few who care.

by Anonymousreply 145March 28, 2022 12:56 AM

[quote] Who the hell cares about James Bond anymore?

Well, um, I do. I l care about it as much as I do grocery shopping and the birds who give me erections when doing love scenes on set.

[quote]Who the hell cares about James Bond anymore

Considering the latest film in the series has made $775 million in the midst of an epidemic, I’d say a fair amount of people.

Well Elordi was pretty dry as a presenter so can't be too upset r152.

by Anonymousreply 159March 28, 2022 12:58 AM

Damn...who is singing that song from Encanto?

by Anonymousreply 160March 28, 2022 12:58 AM

by Anonymousreply 164March 28, 2022 12:59 AM

by Anonymousreply 165March 28, 2022 12:59 AM

Beautiful Encanto song. Smokin hot singer

by Anonymousreply 166March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

Why are they doing a song from West Side Story? I didn't think it had a song in contention.

by Anonymousreply 167March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

Timmy looks like Aladdin.

by Anonymousreply 172March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

[quote]Damn...who is singing that song from Encanto?

He's beautiful, like a young Richard Gere!

by Anonymousreply 173March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

Haven't seen Encanto, but this song is gorgeous. See Beyonce? It's okay to have a song with a melody!

by Anonymousreply 174March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

The only thing good I can say about this next best song performance is that the entire stage and costumes aren’t all fucking lime green.

by Anonymousreply 175March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

Why aren’t the old and new Oscar Anita’s dancing to this song, that would have been fun, especially with a big lesbian kiss at the end.

by Anonymousreply 176March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

Goodness, imagine Sebastián Yatra singing your lullaby to sleep. swoon. #Encanto #Oscars

by Anonymousreply 177March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

Another bad toupee on that singer.

by Anonymousreply 178March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

How come he's not singing in amurican?

by Anonymousreply 179March 28, 2022 1:00 AM

Is Niecy Nash lesbian? The photo link shows her holding hands with a butchy woman on the red carpet.

by Anonymousreply 180March 28, 2022 1:01 AM

[quote]LMAO That’s hilarious…recognizing Riz Ahmed as the first Muslim winner in an untelevised category. Anyway, I’m sure he’ll become even more insufferable.

Wait, what, Uncle Riz wasn't there? He's been at all the Hollyweird parties over the past few days. Or did they simply announce he won, then panned to him in the audience with his annoying 'author' wife.

I LOVE how these two go on and on about the disenfranchised while accepting tons of super expensive designer freebies. His wife is now some sort of 'muse' for Valentino and some other over-priced brand. A few short years ago, no one was asking about her and her one tedious South Asian trauma porn novel. We can thank SJP for giving her a platform.

Riz never picks up a check, he's super cheap.

by Anonymousreply 181March 28, 2022 1:01 AM

That Encanto song is awful, blander than bland.

by Anonymousreply 184March 28, 2022 1:01 AM

Too bad this Encanto singer is married!

by Anonymousreply 185March 28, 2022 1:01 AM

Who, who and who?

by Anonymousreply 186March 28, 2022 1:01 AM

"This ENCANTO song is beautiful"

Utterly banal and indistinguishable from a billion other songs.

by Anonymousreply 187March 28, 2022 1:01 AM

Lily James looks great.

by Anonymousreply 188March 28, 2022 1:01 AM

OK, Sebastián Yatra needs to chingame imediamente.

by Anonymousreply 189March 28, 2022 1:01 AM

The Black Ariel -- TRIGGER ALERT!!!

by Anonymousreply 190March 28, 2022 1:01 AM

That doesn't look like Halle Berry up there.

by Anonymousreply 197March 28, 2022 1:02 AM

by Anonymousreply 198March 28, 2022 1:02 AM

by Anonymousreply 209March 28, 2022 1:03 AM

R138 That would've made sense. I think since Beyoncé, Reba, and Billy Eilish are the big name musical guests, they will want one to perform each each hour.

by Anonymousreply 210March 28, 2022 1:03 AM

Well, I would have liked to see Miss Ross and Billy or Dick and Julie show up as the old guard….still alive and still remembered. Joan Collins….. not so much….

by Anonymousreply 211March 28, 2022 1:03 AM

OMG, the Encanto winner's tux with the flowers is the ugliest thing ever.

by Anonymousreply 212March 28, 2022 1:04 AM

The startling thing is Nicey Nash has those elaborate, fancy big nails, which makes one cringe thinking about her being a Lesbian.

by Anonymousreply 213March 28, 2022 1:04 AM

It's like the Academy is afraid backlash like the Golden Globes so they are rewarding all the minorities.

by Anonymousreply 214March 28, 2022 1:04 AM

by Anonymousreply 240March 28, 2022 1:09 AM

So Ariana DuBose already has won and "Dune" is up to six with cinematography and visual effects?

So far, fourth-worst Oscar show ever, and climbing. Turning the Oscars into Diversity Camp is not going to end any time soon. Repulsive cheap bling parading as a social conscience.

Woody had the only good line so far, and it was ad libbed (perhaps).

The Academy’s animation categories are a joke. Those “brutally honest Oscar ballots” that THR does every year show that members ask their grandchildren which feature they liked best and vite for that one. I wonder if Flee is doomed to lose in all three categories now. I was hoping it could somehow beat Encanto

by Anonymousreply 248March 28, 2022 1:10 AM

ENCANTO shouldn’t have won Best Animation Film. Flee or The Mitchells vs The Machines should have.

by Anonymousreply 249March 28, 2022 1:10 AM

People trolling on twitter r233.

Let's be real, even among comic book movie fans that Flash moment wouldn't be in the top 50.

by Anonymousreply 250March 28, 2022 1:10 AM

R149 Jamie Lee Curtis and Penelope Cruz. Rest are all flops to me.

by Anonymousreply 251March 28, 2022 1:10 AM

R244 I agree. Also, ABC has to promote all those upcoming Hulu shows.

by Anonymousreply 252March 28, 2022 1:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 253March 28, 2022 1:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 256March 28, 2022 1:11 AM

This show is awful. A DJ and no orchestra (and the "DJ" repeating Fantasy over and over again), lame skits, cut categories that will be shown but just rushed through with no acknowledgment of the nominees.

Will Packer better not be asked back.

by Anonymousreply 257March 28, 2022 1:11 AM

Luis Fonsi and Megan

by Anonymousreply 258March 28, 2022 1:11 AM

I’m happy to see people dressed up and the setting is good. But why so many low rent presenters. Very B or even C list. No , Julia Roberts, Leo, Kate Winslet, Meryl Streep, Brad Pitt, Chris Evans, Kevin Hart, the Rock. People who have some celebrity appeal.

by Anonymousreply 259March 28, 2022 1:12 AM

R240 Sweetie, bitchy, caustic, critical posts are not only fine, desirable. But most of this crap is racist and retarded (sic). It's just way stoopit and tiresome.

by Anonymousreply 260March 28, 2022 1:12 AM

Were these prerecorded awards basically to cut out the time of them getting from their seats to the stage? If so just have the winners backstage already.

by Anonymousreply 261March 28, 2022 1:12 AM

[quote]It's like the Academy is afraid backlash like the Golden Globes so they are rewarding all the minorities.

Well, it's a case of damned if they do/damned if they don't: if they don't recognize more minority contribution to film (as they should), they would get into the kind of serious trouble that the Globes has run into these last couple of years. On the other hand, if they do (legitimately) reward minorities for their great work in film, all of the racist shitheads like the ones in this thread will go berserk because they think only white people are entitled to win Oscars.

So yes, it's quite the dilemma for them.

by Anonymousreply 262March 28, 2022 1:13 AM

I would have never thought that they would play Radiohead on the Oscars, even if it was a for a few bars.

by Anonymousreply 263March 28, 2022 1:13 AM

R248 Which is why the Animation category isn't bitched about as much as the others, because they actually nominate and award films people have heard of.

by Anonymousreply 264March 28, 2022 1:13 AM

E259...I was thinking that, too. This seems a bit lounge lizardy to me..

by Anonymousreply 265March 28, 2022 1:13 AM

by Anonymousreply 267March 28, 2022 1:14 AM

I’m glad they’re showing all five nominees in the truncated categories and then the short speeches. It’s a good compromise

by Anonymousreply 268March 28, 2022 1:14 AM

I’m cutting out - time zone issues and not very engaged this year at all. First time not seeing it for 20 years!

Loved Amy though - much better than I thought. Hated her dress, but what can you do? She could have hosted solo or with Regina, they’d have been good. Good for Amy.

by Anonymousreply 297March 28, 2022 1:20 AM

It can pander to a younger audience all it wants, but all its doing is showing how unmemorable, mediocre and vapid the entertainment business has become.

And it's an insult to the younger generation, a lot of whom are film buffs and love the art of making movies. You can't tell me they can't put on a show better than this.

"Have Lyza Minnelli and Joel Gray present!"

Lyza and Joel were going to present, but Joel accidentally rolled her wheel chair into Jada Pinkett Smiths green train. Lyza was thrown to the floor and broke yet another hip. Ever the trouper, Lyza said she was swell but doctors on scene differed and she was rushed to Cedars Sinai. This will mark Lyzas fourth hip replacement, which is amazing and as of now has only two hips.

by Anonymousreply 319March 28, 2022 1:23 AM

Does anyone know of any deaf movie screenplays? I'm looking to get a nomination.

by Anonymousreply 320March 28, 2022 1:24 AM

by Anonymousreply 321March 28, 2022 1:24 AM

Kotsur sucks.

I agree the DJ thing is cheesy - it’s not even a question of young verses old, but people don’t have DJs at their wedding (unless it’s very on the cheap) for the same reason.

by Anonymousreply 331March 28, 2022 1:24 AM

I dont think Chastain will win. Deaf actor, gay Latina-black actress and a black actor are favored in the other categories. You think they will give one to a straight white woman tonight?

by Anonymousreply 338March 28, 2022 1:26 AM

Chris Evans actually looks part Italian tonight.

by Anonymousreply 339March 28, 2022 1:26 AM

[quote] Does anyone know of any deaf movie screenplays? I'm looking to get a nomination.—Millicent Simmonds

I know you're making a joke, but Millicent is actually a very good actress. I would have nominated her for the first Quiet Place film. Fantastic performance. Kotsur, OTOH, can't act, and did nothing of note in Coda and will never be heard from again.

by Anonymousreply 340March 28, 2022 1:26 AM

Loooong night...as it always is...

by Anonymousreply 341March 28, 2022 1:26 AM

R332 It would be hilarious if butch lezzie Kristen Stewart won.

by Anonymousreply 342March 28, 2022 1:26 AM

Lol at the poor cute escort guy trying to corral Korean Grandma and Deaf Guy.

by Anonymousreply 343March 28, 2022 1:26 AM

Neither of these diversity quota wins will have a meaningful career.

Gloucsheter

by Anonymousreply 346March 28, 2022 1:26 AM

Agree that Coda does not deserve to win BP r313, but I've resigned myself.

A feel good movie winning over more deserving art.

by Anonymousreply 347March 28, 2022 1:26 AM

I liked CODA more than I thought I would.

by Anonymousreply 348March 28, 2022 1:26 AM

Marlee will be going to the cemetery after the awards show and dance on William Hurt’s grave.

by Anonymousreply 349March 28, 2022 1:27 AM

I haven't watched the movie but between the actor and last year's supporting actress that was a great Oscars moment.

by Anonymousreply 350March 28, 2022 1:27 AM

I thought he was very good in Coda. His performance is realistic and keeps it from being a real cheese fest.

by Anonymousreply 351March 28, 2022 1:27 AM

"how unmemorable, mediocre and vapid the entertainment business has become."

I love you, r298. The bar of mediocrity gets lowered every year but 2022 may have been the nadir.

by Anonymousreply 352March 28, 2022 1:27 AM

"And maybe let him actually have the Oscar."

I think she took it so he could sign.

by Anonymousreply 353March 28, 2022 1:27 AM

Stewart used to be the front runner and now nobody says she has a chance. It's amazing how the Oscar pre-race can go.

by Anonymousreply 354March 28, 2022 1:27 AM

Ciaran Hinds deserved the win. He's excellent in everything.

by Anonymousreply 355March 28, 2022 1:27 AM

[quote]And maybe let him actually have the Oscar. It's was pretty weird for her to grab the Oscar

Are you stupid? He needed to sign his speech with his hands.

by Anonymousreply 356March 28, 2022 1:27 AM

R340 Yes I was making a joke. I thought Millicent was great in A Quiet Place and she was also good in the Amazon movie Wonderstruck. I wouldn't be surprised if we see her in some Oscar material type movie.

by Anonymousreply 357March 28, 2022 1:28 AM

Will The Godfather tribute include Sacheen Littlefeather?

by Anonymousreply 358March 28, 2022 1:28 AM

[quote]if butch lezzie Kristen Stewart won.

Stewart is Butch Fem.

by Anonymousreply 359March 28, 2022 1:28 AM

Troy deserved that. He was an absolute delight in CODA. Kodi did nothing with the role.

by Anonymousreply 360March 28, 2022 1:28 AM

Did the original Buzz Lightyear die?

by Anonymousreply 361March 28, 2022 1:28 AM

CODA was a lifetime movie of the week. Nobody gives a fuck about it except the mounds of money Apple TV put in its campaign.

by Anonymousreply 362March 28, 2022 1:29 AM

Imagine all the previous winners who had their walk to the stage cut and edited. Man this director is doing everything wrong.

by Anonymousreply 363March 28, 2022 1:29 AM

If he held the Oscar, he might have hit the Korean woman in the head...with signing..

by Anonymousreply 364March 28, 2022 1:29 AM

How many years will DLers be discussing Chalamet's shirtless outfit and lack of obvious pectoral/abdominal definition?

by Anonymousreply 365March 28, 2022 1:29 AM

r38 Because we must award the "others'...and I'm a gay man who wants the best to win.

by Anonymousreply 366March 28, 2022 1:29 AM

Shouldn't Tiffany Haddish be in rehab facility somewhere?

by Anonymousreply 367March 28, 2022 1:29 AM

There’s been a long tradition of old guy supporting actor win.

by Anonymousreply 368March 28, 2022 1:30 AM

How many commercials tonight for Hulu movies about crazy women?

by Anonymousreply 369March 28, 2022 1:30 AM

R344 Harold Russell didn't make second movie.

by Anonymousreply 370March 28, 2022 1:30 AM

Why isn’t Tiffany wearing that one dress she swore to wear to every awards ceremony?

by Anonymousreply 371March 28, 2022 1:31 AM

What's the guy's in the red tux name?

by Anonymousreply 372March 28, 2022 1:31 AM

People like it r362. It is a very feel good movie and it supports the deaf community so it has a "positive message". I'm not surprised to see the rise even though I am personally not a big fan.

by Anonymousreply 373March 28, 2022 1:31 AM

r338 because we must award those who are different...

by Anonymousreply 374March 28, 2022 1:31 AM

Why did we need the Chris Evans promo for his new movie? To appease the MCU boys?

by Anonymousreply 389March 28, 2022 1:33 AM

Mila looks good...

by Anonymousreply 390March 28, 2022 1:33 AM

There’s a much better movie to be made about how Martha’s Vineyard was once the center of Deaf Culture and everybody, Deaf and hearing, on the island spoke a form of sign language that predated ASL.

by Anonymousreply 391March 28, 2022 1:33 AM

[quote] It is a very feel good movie and it supports the deaf community

If I was part of the deaf community, I'd be insulted that it was being portrayed as neanderthal cavemen who fart uncontrollably and can't refrain from fucking each other for two minutes and who are also completely helpless and dependent on their hearing family member.

by Anonymousreply 392March 28, 2022 1:34 AM

"Neither of these diversity quota wins will have a meaningful career."'

Bingo. When the world come to its senses, the illogic of sympathy votes will be vilified--and none too soon.

"What about the fact no one understands this film (Dog) , even watching it three times"

How stupid could you be?

by Anonymousreply 393March 28, 2022 1:34 AM

From Ukraine to Reba... awkward monologue Mila.

by Anonymousreply 394March 28, 2022 1:34 AM

“ Kodi did nothing with the role.”

So wrong. Kodi killed with that role.

by Anonymousreply 395March 28, 2022 1:34 AM

Reba's holding up very well. She's in her 60s somewhere.

by Anonymousreply 396March 28, 2022 1:34 AM

I don't know who any of these people are

by Anonymousreply 397March 28, 2022 1:34 AM

Shirley MacLaine looks great!

by Anonymousreply 398March 28, 2022 1:34 AM

Reba I love you!

by Anonymousreply 399March 28, 2022 1:34 AM

I have a friend that watched Power of the Dog twice and didn't understand it. I watched it once and thought it was great.

by Anonymousreply 400March 28, 2022 1:35 AM

Reba not the best singer at all.

by Anonymousreply 401March 28, 2022 1:35 AM

by Anonymousreply 402March 28, 2022 1:35 AM

Put your hair up if you're wearing a gown, ladies.

by Anonymousreply 403March 28, 2022 1:35 AM

[quote]How many commercials tonight for Hulu movies about crazy women?

IIRC, ABC or Disney owns Hulu and Hulu is probably hoping at least one of those in addition to The Drop Out gets Emmy nods. I have a feeling that Elle Fanning will end up with an Emmy nod.

by Anonymousreply 404March 28, 2022 1:35 AM

"Kodi killed with that role."

It took a while, but yes he did.

by Anonymousreply 405March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

"Four Good Days"? Never heard of it.

by Anonymousreply 406March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

Reba looks amazing. She's gone to the good surgeons.

by Anonymousreply 407March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

Ugh I never could stand Reba McEntire. Even when I was into country music I fucking hated her shit.

by Anonymousreply 408March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

Reba is a Queen

by Anonymousreply 409March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

Looks like "The Power of the Dog" is a dog of a movie, based on lack of wins so far.

by Anonymousreply 410March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

This Diane Warren song sounds exactly like her theme song to "Star Trek: Enterprise," except somehow even worse.

by Anonymousreply 411March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

This song is a typical Diane Warren Oscar-thirsty song.

by Anonymousreply 412March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

Reba looks great..

by Anonymousreply 413March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

R342, If she does, her shorts will be what the media focuses on tomorrow.

by Anonymousreply 414March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

Reba was fabulous.

by Anonymousreply 415March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

Kodi was good. Troy was better. And it was a true supporting performance to boot

by Anonymousreply 416March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

This song is so bland

by Anonymousreply 417March 28, 2022 1:36 AM

None of these best songs nominees have much of a foot tapping appeal to them, nor are they something people are going to walk out of the ceremony humming.

by Anonymousreply 418March 28, 2022 1:37 AM

Diane Warren looks like she copied Daniel Kulaya's look.

by Anonymousreply 419March 28, 2022 1:37 AM

So many people say they couldn’t through Power of the Dog because it was so boring, or that they didn’t understand the movie

by Anonymousreply 420March 28, 2022 1:37 AM

I agree, r391!

by Anonymousreply 421March 28, 2022 1:37 AM

Reba can’t sing

by Anonymousreply 422March 28, 2022 1:37 AM

That off script acceptance by the Japanese director was hilarious. It's these moments that make these events fun. That speech had so many goofy elements.

by Anonymousreply 423March 28, 2022 1:37 AM

For a second there I thought this moment of silence for Ukraine was a scene from Coda.

by Anonymousreply 424March 28, 2022 1:37 AM

Wow, that was one of the most "meh" Oscar-nominated songs I've ever heard.

by Anonymousreply 425March 28, 2022 1:37 AM

Anyone else’s screen go black for a minute? Did Russia invade?

by Anonymousreply 426March 28, 2022 1:38 AM

I will not stand with Ukraine at award shows.

by Anonymousreply 427March 28, 2022 1:38 AM

Most Oscar songs are boring. I don't understand why they get nominated.

by Anonymousreply 431March 28, 2022 1:39 AM

Diane Warren is way too thirsty for an Oscar it is embarrassing.

by Anonymousreply 432March 28, 2022 1:39 AM

The Nick Cage movie looks fun.

by Anonymousreply 433March 28, 2022 1:39 AM

Christ. Even MORE self-congratulatory "God made you give this to me" shit and adults acting like trashy children.

So now it's the third-worst Oscar show ever.

by Anonymousreply 434March 28, 2022 1:39 AM

Again I ask, why are we getting this Nic Cage movie? Where is the Nic Cage "Joe Exotic" miniseries?

by Anonymousreply 435March 28, 2022 1:39 AM

There aren't a lot of movies with original songs r431, there usually isn't much competition.

by Anonymousreply 436March 28, 2022 1:40 AM

r431 Well, at least we have Last Dance.

by Anonymousreply 437March 28, 2022 1:40 AM

Did they change the category from Best Song to Least Shitty Song? So far that’s what it sounds like.

by Anonymousreply 438March 28, 2022 1:41 AM

Reba doesn’t have a pleasant voice.

by Anonymousreply 439March 28, 2022 1:41 AM

A Nic Cage movie about Nic Cage and starring Nic Cage. That's gold, Jerry! Gold!

by Anonymousreply 440March 28, 2022 1:41 AM

"The Nick Cage movie looks fun."

I attended a preview screening, its very fun and will be a hit.

by Anonymousreply 441March 28, 2022 1:41 AM

r420 I still have half of Power of the Dog to watch, and I don't ever not finish movies so I will try to get back to it. I even made it through The Lost Daughter.

by Anonymousreply 442March 28, 2022 1:41 AM

Did rebar win?

by Anonymousreply 443March 28, 2022 1:41 AM

At this point I’d even be up for some Ann Reinking dancing to some Against All Odds.

by Anonymousreply 444March 28, 2022 1:42 AM

I honestly don't know any of these presenters..

by Anonymousreply 445March 28, 2022 1:42 AM

Nick Cage? He’s not Nicholas Cage anymore?

by Anonymousreply 446March 28, 2022 1:42 AM

Best Animation movie - Power of the Dog is getting shut out.

by Anonymousreply 448March 28, 2022 1:42 AM

WRONG, R427. It's:

Why I Won't Stand With Ukraine at Award Shows.

by Anonymousreply 449March 28, 2022 1:43 AM

Harold Russell and Haing Ngor both made films after their Oscar wins. Russell was in Inside Moves with DL semi fave Diana Scarwid who got an out of left field Oscar nod for the movie..

by Anonymousreply 450March 28, 2022 1:43 AM

Ida (?) always looks stunning

by Anonymousreply 451March 28, 2022 1:43 AM

That cape looks like a toilet seat

by Anonymousreply 452March 28, 2022 1:43 AM

Power of the Dog was overhyped and I think people saw that. The worst thing you can do is overhype something because then people go in with very high expectations.

by Anonymousreply 453March 28, 2022 1:43 AM

Garner has had work done.

Jada’s dress looks like cooked spinach.

Instead of pandering to the youth, introduce them to the past and history and old-school glamor. They might end up liking it. Kind of like that older guy on the skateboard skating to Stevie Nicks who opened up a whole new genre of music to kids.

Cruella!!!

Yes!!!!

[quote] Harold Russell and Haing Ngor both made films after their Oscar wins. Russell was in Inside Moves with DL semi fave Diana Scarwid who got an out of left field Oscar nod for the movie..

Don't make it sound like Harold Russell had a career in acting. He retired immediately after winning his Oscars in 1946 and then only made one more move 34 years later because Richard Donner coaxed him out of retirement to do it, and it was a bit role.

by Anonymousreply 463March 28, 2022 1:45 AM

Cyrano looks sumptuous!

by Anonymousreply 464March 28, 2022 1:45 AM

Ruth E. Carter giving an Oscar to Jenny Beaven does make my gay heart go pitty-pat.

by Anonymousreply 469March 28, 2022 1:45 AM

by Anonymousreply 514March 28, 2022 1:51 AM

Still better than Beyonce.

by Anonymousreply 515March 28, 2022 1:51 AM

The guitar play in "We Don't Talk about Bruno" is hot.

by Anonymousreply 516March 28, 2022 1:51 AM

The stench of desperation is an Oscars tradition, R506.

by Anonymousreply 517March 28, 2022 1:51 AM

Shiela E????

by Anonymousreply 518March 28, 2022 1:51 AM

Another piece of shit song!

by Anonymousreply 519March 28, 2022 1:51 AM

Dirty filthy whores.

All of them.

by Anonymousreply 520March 28, 2022 1:52 AM

Why the hell is this not-nominated song being performed?

[quote] It was written and composed by American singer-songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda,

Oh, okay. *rolleyes*

by Anonymousreply 521March 28, 2022 1:52 AM

Why is race being brought up in everything? I’m getting tired of it.

by Anonymousreply 522March 28, 2022 1:52 AM

[quote]Still better than Beyonce.

That's Bed, Bath & Beyonce to you!

by Anonymousreply 523March 28, 2022 1:52 AM

There's a lot going on in this performance. It's on the level of a high school production.

by Anonymousreply 524March 28, 2022 1:52 AM

[quote] surprise appearance from a legend of the silver screen

The biggest Disney song in history

The biggest attention whore coming up- Lady Ugly!

by Anonymousreply 528March 28, 2022 1:53 AM

I like this Kermit song.

by Anonymousreply 529March 28, 2022 1:53 AM

Did they not have any music in films this year?

by Anonymousreply 530March 28, 2022 1:53 AM

Sam Elliott must be glowing with joy so far.

by Anonymousreply 533March 28, 2022 1:53 AM

R514 they're trying to appeal to young people. Maybe they planned to cut all these bits up into clips to help build interest among the young.

by Anonymousreply 534March 28, 2022 1:53 AM

Sheila E.! Love her!

by Anonymousreply 535March 28, 2022 1:53 AM

Cheesy entertainment...another boring show

by Anonymousreply 536March 28, 2022 1:53 AM

That was a whole lot of choreography.

by Anonymousreply 537March 28, 2022 1:53 AM

This song sounds like a rip-off of Santana's "Smooth."

by Anonymousreply 538March 28, 2022 1:54 AM

It’s good to see that Jimmy G. quarterback doing that Subway commercial with his mom. Great representation for people of color.

by Anonymousreply 539March 28, 2022 1:54 AM

Lots of color...

by Anonymousreply 540March 28, 2022 1:54 AM

[quote] Why is race being brought up in everything? I’m getting tired of it.

Because, Bitch, I am in the audience and we need to face the past before we can move forward!!!

by Anonymousreply 541March 28, 2022 1:54 AM

They really did fucking ruin the song. Adding rap to it was like adding trashy tattoos to a beautiful body.

by Anonymousreply 542March 28, 2022 1:55 AM

This is so crass. Oscars used to be classy. Now you have whores shaking their ass and tits like they're in a strip club or the MTV music awards. This is how far the Oscars has fallen...pathetic

by Anonymousreply 543March 28, 2022 1:55 AM

[quote]There's a lot going on in this performance. It's on the level of a high school production.

If only it were that good.

by Anonymousreply 544March 28, 2022 1:55 AM

They took the idols and smashed them, the Fairbankses, the Gilberts, the Valentinos! And who've we got now? Some nobodies!

by Anonymousreply 545March 28, 2022 1:55 AM

The Bruno singer lady had lousy diction.

by Anonymousreply 546March 28, 2022 1:55 AM

R521, it’s the biggest song in animated movie history, one of the biggest song from a movie in decades. Duh, of course they want to capitalize on its massive pop culture success

by Anonymousreply 547March 28, 2022 1:55 AM

Everyone is dressed like a hooker and that Bruno song sucks.

by Anonymousreply 548March 28, 2022 1:55 AM

R532 I actually liked AnnE as a host that year.

by Anonymousreply 549March 28, 2022 1:55 AM

[quote]That shit turd Lequizamo. Fucking die in a grease fire you sniveling pile of shit.

¿Como?

by Anonymousreply 550March 28, 2022 1:55 AM

If they are going to let the Bruno song be added to the show, they better let that CODA girl sing Joni Mitchell and sign the song too or I’m crying foul!

by Anonymousreply 551March 28, 2022 1:56 AM

by Anonymousreply 558March 28, 2022 1:57 AM

Amy hasn’t been around since the beginning

by Anonymousreply 559March 28, 2022 1:57 AM

R543, American popular culture has been stripperfied for a couple decades at least.

by Anonymousreply 560March 28, 2022 1:58 AM

Wow, man-groping AND whiteface?! Regina is wildin'!

by Anonymousreply 561March 28, 2022 1:58 AM

That was so disrespectful to Tammy Faye.

by Anonymousreply 562March 28, 2022 1:58 AM

So Riz Ahmed's craptaculous Long Goodbye video won? Wonder why he didn't get to perform one of his awful rap songs from that clip?

This annoying man is all over the place: actor, rapper, director, producer, activist. He needs to pick one and stick with it.

by Anonymousreply 563March 28, 2022 1:58 AM

Wanda can play it off but the other two hosts are embarrassing.

by Anonymousreply 564March 28, 2022 1:58 AM

R552, I know but someone how they think they can get back a young audience.

by Anonymousreply 565March 28, 2022 1:58 AM

Has Elliott had vocal cord surgery?

by Anonymousreply 568March 28, 2022 1:59 AM

If Ellen Page had won a best actress Oscar in the past, would she have been required to return it?

by Anonymousreply 569March 28, 2022 1:59 AM

Now you have a distinctive voice too, Elliot!

by Anonymousreply 570March 28, 2022 1:59 AM

JK, Jennifer and Mental Illness presenting.

by Anonymousreply 571March 28, 2022 1:59 AM

It's Elmo Page, looking studly!

by Anonymousreply 572March 28, 2022 1:59 AM

Oh dear Elliott.

by Anonymousreply 573March 28, 2022 1:59 AM

Jen Garner looks great.

Yes, that's what they made her ladydick out of.

by Anonymousreply 575March 28, 2022 2:00 AM

Elliott Page is the hottest male midget with intensely re-sculpted features in America!

by Anonymousreply 576March 28, 2022 2:00 AM

Well ok then.

by Anonymousreply 577March 28, 2022 2:00 AM

I thought Belfast was based some what on his life story, wouldn’t that be adapted screenplay since he’s adapting it from something?

by Anonymousreply 578March 28, 2022 2:00 AM

Why is Jen Garner a presenter??

by Anonymousreply 579March 28, 2022 2:00 AM

by Anonymousreply 582March 28, 2022 2:01 AM

This is Branagh's FIRST Oscar? Are you sure?

by Anonymousreply 583March 28, 2022 2:01 AM

Elliott needed to present with the WSS midget not Jen Garner.

by Anonymousreply 584March 28, 2022 2:01 AM

My mom had no clue Ellen Page was transitioning. She just asked me if the person on stage was the little girl.

by Anonymousreply 585March 28, 2022 2:01 AM

R574 I usually am annoyed with her. But, she looks great in that dress.

by Anonymousreply 586March 28, 2022 2:01 AM

Branagh! Sexy and talented. Not many like him in that auditorium right now.

by Anonymousreply 587March 28, 2022 2:01 AM

I wonder if Elliot is going for the Peter Pan look. It sure looks like it.

by Anonymousreply 588March 28, 2022 2:01 AM

Eliott would have been more convincing as a trans-munchkin elf.

by Anonymousreply 592March 28, 2022 2:01 AM

I haven’t heard Elliott speak since, well, y’know.

Oh dear!!!

And the facial sculpting is a bit aggressive too, no? I chuckled watching Jen keep saying “what’s in your wallet?” I get head to get thru it while JK couldn’t completely hide his discomfort (disgust?)

by Anonymousreply 593March 28, 2022 2:01 AM

Well...the speeches are shorter this year anyway..

by Anonymousreply 594March 28, 2022 2:02 AM

Elliot Page should really look into doing some Fun Sized Boys videos with Legrand Wolf?

by Anonymousreply 595March 28, 2022 2:02 AM

Tracee Ellis Ross needs a bra

by Anonymousreply 605March 28, 2022 2:03 AM

Tracy Ellis Ross gets the best award for boob engineering.

by Anonymousreply 606March 28, 2022 2:03 AM

I like this lady ((can't remember her name right now) but I have mixed feelings about that dress. Love the color, but her breasts look like they want to break free and gallop across the plain.

by Anonymousreply 607March 28, 2022 2:03 AM

I bet Dune will win again

by Anonymousreply 608March 28, 2022 2:03 AM

Tracee Ellis Ross can make terrible jokes seem charming.

I like the sparkly disco ball dress. Have no idea who she is, nor the category

by Anonymousreply 625March 28, 2022 2:07 AM

Looks like a (near?) total shut-out for THE POWER OF THE DOG. The idea that it and CODA are in competition in any way (much less that it's losing awards to CODA) is nauseating beyond belief -- they're not even the same species.

by Anonymousreply 626March 28, 2022 2:11 AM
