E! coverage is beyond insipid. Their correspondent was gushing that EVERYONE in Hollywood is waiting to see what Kirsten Stewart wears to the show, and then she interviewed her stylist for hints.

On ABC’s coverage, there was clip from an Oscars show when Tom and Nicole were together. Nothing about her face looks like it does today.

E! coverage has always been insipid. I mean, what do you expect when they have Brad Goreski or whatever his surname is and Karamo? Usually they have Nene and Kristen Cavallari also, but I think Nene has been fired from the gig for a few years now.

Brad and Karamo were on the set in ugly tuxes, kvelling about award season fashion fabulosity.

The only two Best Picture nominees I've seen are Belfast and West Side Story. I preferred WSS - yes, it's flawed, but it gets a lot right and features some strong performers. Belfast was enjoyable but I don't quite understand the hype around it. I agree with that Guardian review that described it as chocolate-boxy. It felt a bit too sanitised, given the subject matter, although I suppose you could put it down to the Troubles being told through a child's eyes.
