Saw an article today on Yahoo that Wendy is "considering suing the show production company for unfair termination".  The story compared her situation to other TV hosts that were fired and turned around and sued their networks.  The examples were Chris Cuomo and Megan Kelly, both of them booted from their shows, and then demanded big payouts.  The amount of $60M was mentioned for Kelly, but it didn't say if she actually got that amount or if the case was thrown out, and I'm not interested enough to research it.  It also implied that Wendy legally has no standing to sue, but she's not above trying after the attempts of Cuomo/Kelly.

Supposedly Wendy is suing on the grounds they had no right to terminate her for being sick but the company says they can't let the show go on indefinitely w/o the host and they had to make a move.  This article even threw in some drama by saying that Wendy is mad at Sherri Shepherd for agreeing to take over - she considered Wendy a friend and this friend is taking her livelihood.  I don't see Wendy winning this one.

It appears that Wendy is sadly back in the clutches of her husband and his ghetto lawyers. He is suing on the premise that he was fired due to his "marital status" which is prohibited by law. The legal theory behind this is ridiculous because it wasn't his marital status but the fact that the host and star of the show which he worked on hated him, was traumatized by his behavior and wanted nothing to do with him anymore. The fact that she was also his wife and was divorcing him is irrelevant. Any ideas he generated or contributions he made to the show he was compensated for as an employee at the time.

Wendy cant sue either because she didn't show up for work for almost an entire year (not to mention several other prior extended hiatuses), and gave no indication whether she ever would. Like her husband she was merely an employee of the show, not a partner or owner. She should have went with the gracious and professional statement made by Howard Bragman and hoped to return if and when she could. Now shes burned her bridges with Debmar. Who will take a chance on her now? No one. Shame because she was the best.

Wendy turned up at a Met Gala afterparty, looking pretty healthy. I highly doubt this "sit down" with Sherri that Wendy wants will ever happen. I mean it's not changing the fact that her TV show is ending next month. What does she expect to accomplish? And why would she think Sherri would give her the time of day after she said she won't be watching her show?

Wendy totally played this the wrong way. If she just simply said it was time for her to move on and that she loves her fans for supporting her through the turbulent years, people would actually want her show to continue. Now people just don't care that much and want Sherri to win.

On a visit to New York I looked for tickets to live TV shows to see. We easily got tickets the Wendy Williams Show. I'd never seen her show but the comic on Top Soup used to make fun of her a lot se we took the tickets.

We had a great time. The warm up guy was funny, the audience was lively, and Wendy herself looked much better than I expected. Except for those ridiculous giant titulars she was in good shape. In comparison to the boobs she looked thin.

The guest, John Legend, had been taped earlier and we watched the tape rather than a live performance. It was fun just to be part of of the show and we "Whoot Whooted" along with the best of them.
