Saget's attorney, Brian Bieber, told CNN that "the facts of the investigation should be made public, but these materials should remain private out of respect for the dignity of Mr. Saget and his family. It's very simple — from a human and legal standpoint, the Saget family's privacy rights outweigh any public interest in disclosure of this sensitive information."

Saget died Jan. 9 at the age of 65 after being found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando. Earlier this month, his family released a statement confirming that his cause of death was the result of head trauma due to an "unwitnessed fall backwards" that resulted in skull fractures and brain injuries.

"They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it, and went to sleep," the statement read. "No drugs or alcohol were involved."

Another interesting thing is that his funeral and burial were both held very, very quickly.

I was actually shocked at how quickly it all happened.

I had a very similar traumatic brain injury. Fell down, hit the back of my head, had brain bleeding but no skull fractures, almost died. It was in no way, shape, or form something that you would brush off and “think nothing of.” Maybe he was shit-faced drunk and stumbled into bed but I find even that hard to believe. I was in the hospital for almost two weeks, half of that in intensive care and I didn’t even fracture my skull.

Firstly, I find that kind of scenario not very credible. Secondly, it was initially claimed he'd died 'peacefully' in his sleep; I even remember an article saying that he 'wasn't in any kind of pain' or 'hadn't suffered' or something like that. However, a severe head injury would have left obvious signs; there's no way they only noticed during the autopsy that he'd hit his head. So when that piece of info came out it was clear something shady was going on.

When I was a kid my friend was jumping on the bed and was doing this thing where he would stand on the bed in the middle and fall backwards onto the pillow. Well of course he missed and whacked the back of his head right onto the headboard. He was yelling, bleeding and needed a few stitches but was otherwise okay, scan showed he was fine.

How the hell Bob offed himself by doing something similar, I'll never know.

So, it shows that the door was opened ONE TIME-- not that "no one else entered the room." The person could have gone into the room WITH him.

A while ago I lost my balance getting into the shower, fell off a half-foot step, and landed on my shoulder and head on a tile floor, giving myself a permanent grade iii AC joint separation and a head injury so severe I ended up with massive swelling and a “racoon eye” as the blood eventually seeped downward into the only available space (the orbit). I may have fractured my skull, too, for all I know. I was knocked-out for about ten minutes, but didn’t alert anyone because it was night, I was tired, I didn’t want to bother anyone, and I’m a total fucking idiot who just tends to get on with things. I never sought treatment, and just went to bed. I do have a high threshhold for pain. Hitting shoulder-first likely saved my life.

I’ve been prescribed clonazepam and trazadone (together) before, too; it can make you pretty groggy and laissez-faire about stuff that should perhaps be taken more seriously.

I would like to know what *legal* drugs may have been found in his system and while I know that alcohol is a toxin, it isn't an illicit one, and usually the presence (or lack of it) is stated apart from drugs. It isn't in this statement. Maybe he did get drunk, took some lovely scripted drugs and got up to some shenanigans. It's the possible shenanigans I'm mostly interested in of course. An autopsy was performed on Robert Lane Saget, a 65-year-old male. Mr. Saget was found unresponsive in his hotel room, on January 10, 2022. All testing and further studies have now been completed.

In consideration of the circumstances surrounding the death and after examination of the body, toxicology analysis, histology, and a respiratory pathogen panel, it is my opinion that the death of Mr. Saget, was the result of blunt head trauma. His injuries were most likely incurred from an unwitnessed fall. A toxicology analysis did not reveal any illicit drugs or toxins. The manner of death is accident.

Our condolences go out to Mr. Saget’s loved ones during this difficult time.

According to their complaint, "certain news and media outlets have filed or plan to file public records requests" regarding his death and the family requested an injunction to keep those materials private.

After the suit was filed, the family's attorney Brian Bieber told E! News in a statement, "In order to protect the Saget family's privacy, today on their behalf, I filed for an injunction to prevent the disclosure of any photographs or videos of Mr. Saget made by the authorities during their investigation."

In documents obtained by E! News on Feb. 16, a Circuit Court judge in Orange County, Fla., signed off on the decision to temporarily keep the medical records confidential, just hours after it was filed.

"Specifically, the Court finds that Plaintiffs will suffer irreparable harm in the form of severe mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress," the court documents filed on Feb. 16 read, "if the requested temporary injunction is not granted."

The Sheriff's Office told E! News they are "sensitive to the family's concerns about the right to privacy" but wish to balance that "with our commitment to transparency, compliance with the law, and the public's right to know."

The Medical Examiner also released a statement on Feb. 16, which stated that they will "continue to offer our condolences to the family and loved ones of Robert Saget," and gave "no comment" on the lawsuit.

Bob Saget, 65, was found dead inside a Ritz-Carlton Hotel room in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 9. In a statement obtained by E! News the following month, Saget's family confirmed his cause of death was head trauma.

The family further explained in the statement that authorities came to the conclusion Bob "accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep." They further noted that no drugs or alcohol were involved.

The statement ended on an uplifting note by asking fans to remember Bob for what he stood for, adding, "As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter."

Shouldn't a significant trauma to the head which resulted in death be further investigated? Why is there an automatic assumption that he must of just banged it accidentally someplace and figured it was no big deal and ignored it? He had to have been in significant pain if there was skull fracture(s).

"Fell on a hard marble floor" has changed to "fell on something hard covered by something soft". Weird.

The second article also says, "The report ruled out countertops, tables and nightstands in the hotel room since those all had hard surfaces. It noted that most of the hotel suite was carpeted and that the headboard of the bed was lightly padded, listing the two items as "possible mechanisms of injury."

So hard surfaces, such as the marble floor in the bathroom, are now ruled out, and a carpeted floor or headboard are now considered possible mechanisms of injury.

Yea r288, it could literally be that simple. I will share here that during a divorce 22 years ago, I was on trazadone. I have low blood pressure, and more than once when I got up in the middle of the night after taking it to take a piss, I completely passed out. And the reason I remember so clearly is that I had hard marble floors in my bathroom too, and I couldn’t believe I didn’t sustain more serious injuries, like a chipped tooth or a concussion.

Authorities would have been looking for witnesses/suspects if they thought anyone else was in the room. They'd need to find out what happened or if there was any foul play. Someone I used to work with had a fatal heart attack (we think) in his hotel room during a business trip. When he didn’t respond to several phone calls for an entire day, my supervisor called the hotel to check on him. Our supervisor also left several messages with his family, who never contacted us, so we all started calling area hospitals and the police department, etc., to no avail.

Finally, two days later, our supervisor was able to reach someone in hotel management. All the hotel manager would say was that there had been “an incident,” that the family had been informed, and that any of our company property that might have been in the hotel room was being held at the police department.

Long story short, for legal or whatever reasons, the hotel wouldn’t tell us anything. We did get our equipment back from the police (a work issued laptop and video camera used for shooting a footage from a trade show) but it took a few days. We later learned the employee had a mistress in the town he was visiting, and may have been with her. I guess they were reviewing the laptop/camera to make sure there were no smoking guns pointing to foul play. I suspect he was with her, because the family didn’t tell us he had died and basically came to the office one day, cleared out his stuff, and wouldn’t communicate with any of his grieving colleagues.

Maybe someone or some people attempted to rob him through the unlocked door, things got physical and they punched him or hit him with something in the front of his head/face which then caused him to fall backwards which then caused him to hit the back of his head on something which then knocked him out.
