Modeled drugged and left dumped and dead at hospital

So this is a case that could go either way on here. So a model and her friend went out partying at a "warehouse" in EAST L.A. and went home with some men they just met that night. The model's lifeless body dumped at a hospital and friend brain dead on life support. The husband suspects murder, snuff porn, sex slaves etc since the girl in the coma tested positive for heroin and she "would never do that". There are people theorizing that these women went home with a man seen with"lots of camera equipment" and so that automatically =snuff. The men wore all black, wore baklavas, and had no plates on the car.

Meh. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Any woman who goes to a man's apartment she met in a nightclub is looking for sex and or drugs, and willingly takes her chances.

by Anonymousreply 1November 18, 2021 4:27 PM

Would you say that about a man, too r1?

by Anonymousreply 2November 18, 2021 4:29 PM
The men wore all black, wore baklavas

Sounds like they were some dishy men

by Anonymousreply 3November 18, 2021 4:30 PM

R1 Fuck off troll! How many gay men, myself included, meet strangers on apps? Gay men put themselves in danger for sex all the time.

This poor woman. My heart goes out to her family.

by Anonymousreply 4November 18, 2021 4:31 PM

How is wanting sex with a man you met “playing stupid games?”

by Anonymousreply 5November 18, 2021 4:31 PM

People who produce snuff porn take their victims to the emergency room afterwards?

Any woman who goes home with a man she doesn’t know in the early hours of the morning is stupid, but that doesn’t mean she deserved what she got.

by Anonymousreply 6November 18, 2021 4:33 PM

Just because the victims are women most people will think they deserve what they got for clubbing, taking drugs, and going home with men. Society sucks.

by Anonymousreply 7November 18, 2021 4:34 PM

How touching that they dropped her off in front of a hospital after she stopped breathing. It probably took them an hour to organize the balaclavas.

by Anonymousreply 8November 18, 2021 4:34 PM
Modeled drugged and left dumped and dead

What kind of crappy thread title is this?

No baklava for OP!

by Anonymousreply 9November 18, 2021 4:35 PM

If one or both were married, I wonder why they did go home with these random men. I wonder if they were already drugged at the club?

by Anonymousreply 10November 18, 2021 4:36 PM
The men wore all black, wore baklavas, and had no plates on the car.

Those are red flags, right?

by Anonymousreply 11November 18, 2021 4:37 PM

If they were wearing baklavas, they must have left sticky fingerprints all over the crime scene.

by Anonymousreply 12November 18, 2021 4:39 PM

She / they probably OD'd at the club or the after party.

by Anonymousreply 13November 18, 2021 4:40 PM

R12 Baklavas and no plates. Sticky, I’d say!

by Anonymousreply 14November 18, 2021 4:45 PM

People (except maybe for Kanye) don’t just happen to have a collection of balaclavas and black outfits lying around their house, so there must have been some kind of criminal setup from the get go.

by Anonymousreply 15November 18, 2021 4:47 PM

Something just doesn’t add up.

by Anonymousreply 16November 18, 2021 4:47 PM

The model’s concerned team mom is named Dusty Giles.

Make of that what you will.

by Anonymousreply 17November 18, 2021 4:47 PM
People . . . don’t just happen to have a collection of . . . black outfits lying around their house,

Have you been to NYC?

by Anonymousreply 18November 18, 2021 4:49 PM

It seems the men they were seen with had a predilection for Turkish desserts. That should narrow it down.

by Anonymousreply 19November 18, 2021 4:51 PM

R18 this was in LA

by Anonymousreply 20November 18, 2021 4:52 PM

Look for a person carrying extra weight!

by Anonymousreply 21November 18, 2021 4:53 PM

Amateurs..

by Anonymousreply 22November 18, 2021 4:53 PM

"Model from Alabama" = an OnlyFans escort.

by Anonymousreply 23November 18, 2021 4:58 PM

So the woman had done coke, ketamine, molly, mushroom before. But the family doesn't believe she would ever do heroin?

by Anonymousreply 24November 18, 2021 5:27 PM

Where's the friend?

by Anonymousreply 25November 18, 2021 5:47 PM

Wow, there's a lot going on here.
Christy Giles's lifeless body was allegedly left by men in balaclavas [bold]driving a Prius with no plates[/bold] at Southern California Hospital in Culver City at 5 p.m. on November 14.
Surveillance footage recorded the men dumping the body of Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola, 26, outside Kaiser Permanente hospital in West LA two hours later.

[...]
Dusty Giles, a 49-year-old nurse who lives in Dora near Birmingham, Alabama, said she was convinced her daughter was drugged.
'My daughter is a military police officer's daughter, her father Leslie served in Iraq,' she told The Sun.
[bold]'My daughters have been taught literally how to kill a person with a ballpoint pen.[/bold]
'My daughter would have fought like hell and from my understanding from speaking to the emergency room doctor and nurse, they did not see any visible bruises, scratches, or any indication of an altercation.
'The only way that these men would have kept my daughter and Hilda for over 10 hours would be by giving them drugs, maybe tying them up.'
'Marcela took a liking to one of these guys. They all left together to go to this party in the Hollywood Hills. But they didn't end up going to that party at all. They ended up at these guys' houses. They left the East LA party at about 4:45am.'
[bold]Dusty Giles said that Cilliers had accessed her phone, and the last text message her daughter sent was at 5.38am on Saturday.
She told Cabrales-Arzola: 'Let's get out of here,' with the wide eyes emoji, Dusty said.
Cabrales-Arzola - who had only recently moved from Mexico to LA - replied 'Yes' and said she had called for an Uber.[/bold]
'That's the last time we know that Christy was alive and able to move and do something of her own free will,' Dusty Giles told The Sun.
'The girls were obviously not speaking out loud in front of these guys, they were texting each other.
'I believe they drugged them to keep them and I believe they probably raped them.
'Maybe throughout the day they had to give them more and more to keep them subdued.
'These men had them for over 10 hours to clean them up and drop them off.
'If it was an accidental overdose, why not call 911?
'Why do you wait 10 hours until she is dead to fling her on a sidewalk, remove your license plates, obscure your face?
'It doesn't track, it's not logical.'

Not just any car with no plates, a Prius. This reminds me of the show Weeds, one of the drug dealers drove a Prius because they're common and quiet.

by Anonymousreply 26November 18, 2021 5:47 PM

Hopefully they post the snuff film so we can see. Will be so fun!

by Anonymousreply 30November 18, 2021 5:55 PM

R28 she looks high or on something there. Being an instragram "model" with a husband who photographs you, is not really a model with an agency contract, now is it?

It screams "for sale" to me.

by Anonymousreply 31November 18, 2021 5:55 PM

Reminds me of the doctor I. New York who was married with 3 kids and a former America’s junior Miss winner who went out to party with some guys and she overdosed and they left her in front of an apartment building.

by Anonymousreply 32November 18, 2021 6:16 PM

It sounds like they thought they were going up to party at some lavish Hollywood Hills home, and ended up in some sketchy apartment instead.

by Anonymousreply 33November 18, 2021 6:43 PM

I actually appreciate OP summarizing the story in his own words, despite the baklava vs. balaclava. IMO, it's hard to sift through endless quotes from a news story. Nice to have a brief, factual summary.

by Anonymousreply 34November 18, 2021 7:00 PM

A few years ago she was roommates with my favorite obscure retired gay porn twink Skylar Starr (who I'm guessing no one here has ever heard of). She posted something about how cool it was to live/be friends with a gay porn star.

That being said, she was apparently a 'real' model, as in signed with a modeling agency, and got to model actual clothes every once in a while. She really didn't have a lot of followers though, circa 16k before her death.

by Anonymousreply 35November 18, 2021 7:37 PM

Apparently one of the perpetrators has been identified as Dave Pearce aka Dave Bryant. He appears to have ties to Ron Jeremy and, according to one comment I read, lives with 3 porn stars (women I suppose), and 'likes to get fucked up the ass by black trannies'.

It's weird though; you see his name floating around social media, but DM et al. aren't naming names yet. Why not? Am I missing something here? People are accused of horrible, yet to be proven crimes all the time. And why were the husband and family so quick to hire a private investigator?

Something is odd about this whole story.

by Anonymousreply 36November 18, 2021 7:42 PM

I'm guessing fentanyl was involved.

by Anonymousreply 37November 18, 2021 7:46 PM

Can you provide a link, R36?

I looked up the names you mentioned and the only thing I found with the two of them together is a site that reports phone numbers. There are reports from 2012, 2013, 2016, 2020 and yesterday.
December 26, 2020: Dave Pearce is a low level thief, con artist, shoplifter, drug dealer and HIV positive dirt bag. He will eventually be killed or locked up. Stay away from this loser.
January 25, 2013: (DAVE) DAVID PEARCE IV, IS A DRUG DEALER, THIEF, SCAM ARTIST, LIER. IF YOU EVER HAVE CONTACT WITH HIM GO THE OTHER WAY! DOB IS 02/17/1979. by Anonymousreply 39November 18, 2021 8:15 PM

What happened Christy Giles and her friend is tragic beyond belief. And the text messages do make it sound like there was foul play involved. That being said, something is off about this aggressive pushing of a certain narrative by the husband. For the first few days after her death, no 'official' sources from the LA/SoCal area reported on it. I couldn't find any short, factual news item along the lines of, 'Young woman found dead near hospital of suspected drug overdose ... victim was later identified as Christy Giles, 24 ...'. . But fast forward a few days and the story is ALL over the news; with long-winded articles full of lurid scenarios that treat the husband's theories pretty much as fact. Strangely though, none of these articles mention the alleged perpetrators' names, despite claiming they have been identified.

by Anonymousreply 40November 18, 2021 9:29 PM

Even though the mother says Christy was very open about her recreational drug use, partying etc., I think the family is probably in denial about her lifestyle and the circles she run in. She was signed with an agency and appears to have had some legit modeling jobs, but they were probably few and far between. Most of her recent posts were 'glamour shots' taken by her husband and other relatively unknown photographers. No designer/brand etc. tagged. She was traveling a lot, posted photos from yachts and glamourous vacations that I doubt her model salary and his earnings as a photographer would have paid for. Before her marriage, she had a roommate who did porn and escorted, and thought it was exciting. That girl was no stranger to the seedy side of Hollywood.

None of this means that she deserved to be killed, or make it any less tragic if this was yet another accidental overdose.

by Anonymousreply 41November 18, 2021 9:31 PM
the girl in the coma tested positive for heroin and she "would never do that".

Sure Jan.

by Anonymousreply 43November 18, 2021 9:44 PM

Something is definitely, off, R40. Opposites attract but if this information is accurate these two women were very different, I wonder how they met.

If you shaved the hair off every female models head, they all look the same, and all look fugly. Whereas men, even when bald, still look different to each other. Female models are so fucking trash and clones of each other.

by Anonymousreply 46November 18, 2021 10:02 PM

Yes it was very stupid of her to go home with a stranger late at night after clubbing. Have I done it? Yes. Many times I've gone home with strangers to their place. Is it smart? No it's very stupid. But we do it anyway playing Russian roulette hoping the guy doesn't turn out to be a psycho behind that attractive smile.

by Anonymousreply 50November 18, 2021 10:34 PM

Somethings off. Is it 100% proven there “husband” (super creepy vibes) was in San Fran? He sees her locale is not moving and doesn’t find it odd? He then sees her at hospital? He could’ve called her and realized she’s not moved from the same place for hours and she’s not answering his calls so call THE COPS! I think he wore the baklava (ha!) and a night of drugging and weird sex shit ended in ODing and the Mexican smart chick with way too many names wanted no part of their sketch lifestyle so she was drugged. Idk just weird shit

by Anonymousreply 51November 18, 2021 10:35 PM

Poor guy, but the husband looks a little like Macaulay Culkin during his strung-out, long-haired phase.

by Anonymousreply 52November 18, 2021 10:37 PM

They went to a place in East LA? East LA?

Right there is a RED LIGHT! DUUUUUUUUH, CUNTS !!!!!!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 57November 18, 2021 10:52 PM

R24 I’d say its very common for people to do all those other drugs but not do heroin. I put them in two entirely different categories.

by Anonymousreply 58November 18, 2021 10:54 PM

Heroin in California tends to be black tar which is spoked rather than injected. Fentanyl has been replacing it as it is cheaper and easier to use and turns up in other drugs.

by Anonymousreply 59November 18, 2021 11:00 PM

All the tributes on social media describe her as a 'joyous', happy-go-lucky person who'd light up every room with her smile and so on and so forth, and the husband describes their marriage as 'fairy-tale' (of course he does), but her twitter paints a very different picture. Lots of posts about mental health, trauma, 'crying in the back of an uber' etc., especially in the last few weeks/months. Now, it could have been just navel gazing from a self-absorbed young person, but to me it seems like she was going through something. I've been following her for a while (I'm the stalker-y loser obsessed with her former porn star roommate...), and I'd say her posts took a turn for the dark.

by Anonymousreply 63November 18, 2021 11:20 PM

R60 did she ever mention her husband or being married in twitter?

Ewww. I can’t imagine seeing that shit and saying “yeah. Lemme smoke that!” Its name is black tar for gods sake.

I thought the girls were Russian at first because they remind me of Mel Gibson's Russian baby mama .

by Anonymousreply 66November 18, 2021 11:34 PM

They’re kind of fat for models.

by Anonymousreply 67November 18, 2021 11:39 PM

Yes, she did, R60. To be fair it was mostly nice stuff ... cutesy little stories about him always being late or that him being a good driver is sexy to her etc. She also shared some passive agressive posts about 'toxic people', or being there for someone who wouldn't do the same for her, but who knows who those were directed at.

by Anonymousreply 68November 18, 2021 11:44 PM

by Anonymousreply 72November 18, 2021 11:50 PM

She dated a gorgeous biracial guy before meeting her husband. I'd have to go waaay back on her twitter to find a pic of him, but I remember he was really hot.

by Anonymousreply 73November 19, 2021 12:13 AM

Here's Skylar Starr. I'm guessing that the name "Skylar" was the proto-"Jayden"---he looks like an acquired taste or guilty pleasure. Bleached blonde is rarely a good look, esp. on someone who looks like the typical skinny twink in Atlanta from bumfuck Alabama.

by Anonymousreply 76November 19, 2021 12:17 AM

They obviously knew something was dangerous with the text “let’s get out of here” and the friend texting that she’ll call an Uber.

The must have been forcibly restrained and then drugged . They keep them 10 hours, so god knows what they did to them and probably filmed them. Really nasty shit.

Nobody deserves this. Fucking rotten-inside people.

by Anonymousreply 77November 19, 2021 12:18 AM

More flattering pic. And yes, he is a drug addict, obviously. If it hasn't happened yet, he's probably overdosing as I type this.

He was Christy's roommate in 2016 - 2018ish. Not sure how close they were, but she mentioned him a few times on her twitter, said it was cool to have a porn star roommate etc.

I wonder if they can find the Uber call.

This reminds me of that other IG “model” and “influencer” who was a “sweet” “free spirit” with shady friends and a much older controlling husband who wound up dead. Lots of them, actually.

I feel so bad for their parents, who are powerless to stop their daughters’ horrible demise.

by Anonymousreply 114November 19, 2021 4:20 AM

I realize it's very easy to criticize the victims because of their perceived lifestyle.

But the last text messages (if real) suggest that they were unwilling participants who knew a bridge had been crossed.

The dead girl is an easy "moralizing" target, but her companion seemed to have her head screwed on and a career and life before her. Neither one of them in any way deserved this and that should go without saying.

The whole thing is horrific.

And I don't trust the husband any more than I do/did that Murdaugh pig.

If he’s her husband, he’s next of kin. The hospital would have told him his wife’s status before they’d tell her parents. Spouse trumps all other relationships, which is why gay marriage has been so important.

Also, Christy pings. (Or did, RIP.)

The third woman is a mystery. The husband is sus.

by Anonymousreply 121November 19, 2021 11:04 AM

Somehow I missed the part where the police give any sort of statement. And what the actual cause of death was. I’m assuming OD because no observable bruising, allegedly.

This sounds very similar to the Alexis Sharkey murder.

by Anonymousreply 122November 19, 2021 11:21 AM

Hiring a P.I. now is actually a good move.

Right now is the best time to collect evidence & interview people. Like asking for Ring videos from neighbors that will be deleted later.

If the police show no interest in the case later, it's hard for a P.I. to just pick up the case months/years later when pieces of evidence are gone, witnesses are hard to track down, people no longer remember things, etc.

by Anonymousreply 123November 19, 2021 11:25 AM

Still no actual cause of death/autopsy results?

Remember that Alexis Sharkey (free spirit scenester and wannabe influencer who was dumped in a ditch, perfectly clean and without a bruise or scratch on her) was thought to have been a possible OD. She’d been strangled. Also I just found out her husband killed himself last week.

by Anonymousreply 184November 20, 2021 10:23 AM

I'm disappointed with the development of this story, or lack thereof. Too bad, because it's way more interesting than the Gaby Petito case. No cause of death, no update on the brain dead friend. It's like the husband planted the story to bring attention to his GoFundMe and media made zero effort to keep it going. Also, the husband is sleazy big time, as many of you mentioned. I also thought that was that the marriage was some kind of pimp and his "protege" situation.

by Anonymousreply 185November 20, 2021 10:42 AM

Yeah, it's odd how this story was EVERYWHERE for a couple of days and then just sort of went away.

As for her cause of death, 'undetermined' usually means that the answer is in the toxicology report, which can take weeks to complete. However, it should be clear by now whether or not she was sexually abused.

Sadly, the other girl will most likely be taken off life support within the next few days. Has anyone ever 'recovered' from having no brain activity?

by Anonymousreply 186November 20, 2021 3:19 PM
Re: Kaiser. If Kaiser had the closest hospital (geographically), maybe that's why they got treated there. Kaiser contracts with other hospitals (emergency and maybe even specialty care) and vice-versa.

Under federal law, an emergency department is required to assess, stabilize, and begin treatment of any person who is brought there or brings themself there for treatment, regardless of their insurance coverage or lack of insurance or financial status. The emergency department is then allowed to transfer the patient somewhere else after they are stabilized due to insurance reasons. But Kaiser is not allowed to refuse to see someone who is brought there for emergency care.

by Anonymousreply 192November 20, 2021 5:38 PM
I also thought that was that the marriage was some kind of pimp and his "protege" situation.

I find it quite telling that 1. her instagram is still being updated, and 2. the privacy settings of her twitter page were changed after her death. Obviously someone has access to her social media passwords, and who else could it be but the husband? Maybe he only found them after her death and logged into her accounts (which would still be a violation of privacy imo), but it seems more likely to me that he already knew them. Also, the way she always shared her location with him 'for safety' ... is it normal for young couples to do that?

by Anonymousreply 193November 20, 2021 6:00 PM

Even in 2021, a model with a septum piercing and random tats is unlikely to book high-profile jobs unless she's already A list. She must have known (and accepted) that she wouldn't hit it big in the fasion world, and focused on other means of income ...

I also found an interesting exchange on her twitter page (before it was set to private). She complained about someone stealing her designer sunglasses, and some guy replied to her saying she only got them for having a one-night stand with a (married) 60-year-old at a party.

by Anonymousreply 194November 20, 2021 6:11 PM

I'm sure the husband is lying through his teeth about the 'fairytale marriage', but I also think there was foul play involved in her death. Both can be true at the same time ... Let's not forget that Dave Pearce has been accused of abuse/rape before.

I think hubs doesn't want to admit to himself (let alone others) that she lifestyle she led, likely with his approval, contributed to her death. It will be interesting to see if other people from her inner circle start speaking up.

by Anonymousreply 195November 20, 2021 6:21 PM

The husband implied that she texted other people throughout the night. But he never released other texts other than that "Let's get out of here" one.

I wonder if it's because the other texts are irrelevant or because he's hiding something.

by Anonymousreply 196November 20, 2021 6:23 PM

24 is unusually young for marriage. These days, at least.

by Anonymousreply 197November 20, 2021 6:30 PM

by Anonymousreply 198November 20, 2021 7:04 PM

So weird how people text each other so much and they're in the same room. In this case, it was understandable. They didn't want to raise red flags. But they could also have been texting people outside of the club (for help).

Or just dialing fucking 911.

I don't understand it at all.

by Anonymousreply 208November 20, 2021 8:33 PM

R208 Yeah I can understand hearing "a noise" and waving it off, but saying "I heard someone moaning FOR AN ENTIRE DAY", I don't know how you ignore that.

by Anonymousreply 209November 20, 2021 8:39 PM

Could the "Let's get out of here" texts be sent by the bad guy(s) so they can say the girls were taking drugs and left on their own? Although if the building has surveillance cameras that can be easily verified.

by Anonymousreply 210November 20, 2021 9:12 PM

Regarding the husband being able to track the wife's whereabouts, that is common procedure for call girls when they go out to meet a client. They allow a friend, S.O., or driver to track them should anything go awry.

by Anonymousreply 211November 20, 2021 9:15 PM

I am wondering if the girl and “husband” were even really legally married. Sorry to keep harping on this, but the hospital would give information to the husband because he’s legally next of kin. He said her parents had to get the information from the hospital. That doesn’t make sense.

Amd how did they even identify her? Did the people who dumped her leave her purse and phone with her? And if they killed her, why leave her at a hospital with cameras? They could have left her behind a dumpster or a park. These weren’t very smart killers.

by Anonymousreply 212November 20, 2021 9:42 PM

Who knows whether people are really married nowadays. I have a friend (male) who was in a long-term relationship with a woman, but they were never married as far as I knew. The relationship seemed open, as far as my friend was concerned. This friend became a judge and suddenly he describes himself as having a "wife." I've never heard about him getting married.

by Anonymousreply 213November 20, 2021 9:46 PM
Yeah...if I heard that kind of noise ALL DAY, I'd call 911.

Not me. Pearce's neighbors no doubt called the police before and got no satisfaction from them. He was weird. People were coming & going all the time. Loud nouses were always coming from the apartment. They knew he was involved at least with prostitutes and drugs, and probably in the porn industry. Others have been in that situation before and theyre not risking it again just to have police either ignore it, or have cops say it 's some junkie on a bad trip and the neighbor now has you marked a narc.

R213. Marriage can become important in terms of inheritance (in many states surviving spouses by law get a certain percentage of the estate), taxes, health insurance, social security benefits, and so on.

Poor people don't need to worry about inheritance, taxes, etc and they have very low rates of marriage. The opposite is true for the upper middle class/upper class - much higher marriage rates and lower divorce rates. They know how to protect their financial assets.

by Anonymousreply 215November 20, 2021 9:53 PM

R214, Agreed. Amazes me how many posters think one can move so easily without losing a lot of money breaking a lease, selling an otherwise satisfactory home.

I had a real black widow and insane, foul woman living upstairs. Neighbors called LE when her screaming hysterics got really bad but I was the one always blamed. She'd lived in the complex longer than I had and made up excuses to report me to the HOA.

by Anonymousreply 216November 20, 2021 9:59 PM

R216 leases end, pretty much annually. If I had a neighbor who was that scary/obnoxious (even before this incident), my ass would've been OUT when it came up.

And yes, I live in LA.

by Anonymousreply 217November 20, 2021 10:05 PM

If you're too scared to call the cops (understandable), why the hell would you give that kind of damning testimony to a tabloid? Especially testimony that makes you sound like an unfeeling sociopath.

R215, understood. My friend who became a judge is / was not rich. He is, however, the type to spend money on himself and himself only. (E.g., takes exotic trips ... without his "wife.") If anything, he would purposely *not* get married in order to preserve his own assets. I'm calling BS on him actually being married now. I suspect he's calling his longtime GF his "wife" now, because he's a judge and he thinks it sounds good.

by Anonymousreply 219November 20, 2021 10:11 PM

by Anonymousreply 220November 20, 2021 10:13 PM

by Anonymousreply 221November 20, 2021 10:17 PM
why the hell would you give that kind of damning testimony to a tabloid?

Its not "testimony." Its a remark to a tabloid. There likely will not be a trial. Too expensive. There will be a plea bargain. If it did go to trial, the guy could say he was lying to the tabloid so prosecutor wouldn't call him as a witness. He 's not doing anything illegal by lying to a tabloid.....or by saying he was lying to a tabloid. It's pretty common for people to say someyjing to tv or newspapers immediately after a crime, then later say they were "mistaken" or "didn't recollect" later on, when they realize theyve become involved in a serious legal case

by Anonymousreply 222November 20, 2021 10:23 PM

At R224, that's a rough 25-28 years old.

I'm not doubting that they were married, but if he really was her pimp, maybe everybody concerned (parents, etc.) were on board with saying he was the husband.

by Anonymousreply 232November 20, 2021 10:55 PM

I doubt she would have told her parents he was her pimp. She might have been open about the 'party drugs', but her Alabama military police officer daddy would have killed had she confessed to being a whore ... well, either her or the pimp.

by Anonymousreply 233November 20, 2021 11:22 PM

" Also, the way she always shared her location with him 'for safety' ... is it normal for young couples to do that?"

I can believe that sex workers do that as a safety measure, although it's also probably done so that the pimp can be sure the whore is where they're supposed to be.

But among "normal" couples, constant phone tracking is the sign of a person being so controlling and jealous that they'll freak out and become abusive if their SO stops at the park or the convenience store on the way home from work.

Yes, I know!

by Anonymousreply 243November 21, 2021 12:14 AM

If he was her legal husband, why wouldn’t the hospital give her information? He’s next of kin. When my father was incapacitated in the hospital, my mother had to authorize us (his children!) to receive his medical information. They hadn’t even spoken for a decade, and she lived in another state, but everything had to go through her until she signed it over to us. A marriage certificate is a powerful legal instrument and trumps everything. It’s why we fought for marriage equality.

These people seemed to be counterculture fringe types and probably had a “spiritual” marriage. I have a relative who had a wedding but it wasn’t a legal one because his “wife” didn’t want to lose her late husband’s army benefits and pension.

by Anonymousreply 250November 21, 2021 12:45 AM

There are couples, married and unmarried, in which the female is an escort and the husband/boyfriend is complicit in varying degrees for various reasons. Generally it’s because the escort can make far better money than the immature husband/boyfriend, or they are on drugs and need the money, or the male genuinely enjoys the business manager/bodyguard role.

by Anonymousreply 251November 21, 2021 12:45 AM

by Anonymousreply 255November 21, 2021 1:03 AM

I've seen lesbian/bi women with a childhood history of abuse or early date rape become party girls after getting into coke. They look at men as cash registers.

by Anonymousreply 256November 21, 2021 1:04 AM

"If he was her pimp, he'd be very stupid to bring this much attention to the case."

Why is he stupid? If they had a whore/pimp relationship, then he's lost a major source of income, but has made it up with a surprisingly successful Gofundme. There's nothing stupid about getting six figures for minimal effort!

And if you're worried about him getting in trouble for pimping out his now-dead wife, I seriously doubt the LA DA's office will file charges there. They'll be looking for much bigger crimes here.

by Anonymousreply 257November 21, 2021 1:06 AM

by Anonymousreply 258November 21, 2021 1:22 AM

The term model is really used loosely these days.

by Anonymousreply 259November 21, 2021 1:35 AM

R258, no kidding. She probably thought she was okay because she was with a friend and Cilliers could see where she was and her daddy taught her how to kill a man with a ballpoint pen.

But she was already drunk, and I think their judgment was in the toilet. .

Hopefully the police will take this seriously and the men who dumped the women will get scared and rat each other out like they did in the Comunale case.

by Anonymousreply 260November 21, 2021 1:43 AM

Why does toxicology take so much longer for a dead person than a living one? I guess the living are a priority?

by Anonymousreply 261November 21, 2021 1:44 AM

The mom sounds kind of delusional. I did drugs in my 20s but no way in hell would I have told my parents. The fact that she told her mom that she does only recreational drugs: cocaine, Molly, MDMA, whatever. Does the mom think that this was really the extent of it?

Also, able to kill a man with a ball-point pen? Yeah, right.

by Anonymousreply 262November 21, 2021 1:57 AM

R262, Agreed. Problem for attractive, thin, young women doing drugs is the drug dealers and users with whom they come into contact aren't always the savory, safe types.

Stressing "thin" as they're physically more vulnerable. Many men think all they have to do is get a girl to drink/do drugs and then they can do anything they want to them no matter how rough it gets.

by Anonymousreply 263November 21, 2021 2:01 AM

R218 Maybe they felt really bad about it in hindsight and that's why they speak out now. Hearing about grisly murder or whatever else sketchy thing was going on tends to make people trying to relieve their conscience about what they could possibly have done to prevent it.

R244 I can imagine it was some kind of romantic hippie ceremony that meant to them they were married (for longer than just the weekend), but not an actual legal marriage. Because the stuff about the medical records is strange.

About the "Let's get out of here" text message: The DailyMail has a screenshot of that text message and about an hour before she wrote "Let's go" Hilda apparently told her to come to the kitchen to do a line. So they apparently did drugs out of their own volition at that apartment and an hour later they were still lucid, although of course we don't know in what state or why exactly Christie wanted to go - maybe she felt like death due to the coke being mixed with fentanyl and just wanted to get home quickly to sleep it off, but they never made it. Or maybe something real shitty was happening at the apartment.

I wonder why we still don't know anything about her cause of death. I realise toxicology reports take long, but I guess knowing if she was raped for example, might give more insight into the case.

I think it could have been some kind of "accident" though, maybe the guys tried to "just" rape them and accidentally killed them with drugs or something like that. Because I guess if they already took them home with the intention of cold-blooded murder, they'd have dumped the bodies in the desert or something, not taken them to a hospital. It might not exactly be remorse, but maybe something went wrong or worse than they expected and they didn't know what to do afterwards.

This emoji looks kind of fearful, too. Again, though, enough with the fucking texting someone in the same damn room as you. Talk to each other, face to face, and GTFO of a dangerous situation. Call 911, since you have access to you goddamn phone. People are so addicted to texting.

by Anonymousreply 270November 21, 2021 3:22 AM

R270 if you're in a room with someone that's scaring you, yeah, it makes more sense to text your friend than to say in front of everyone "Hey, this is creepy. Let's go"

by Anonymousreply 271November 21, 2021 3:31 AM

Did the husband provide the texts to the DM? There is no date, the screenshots of the texts say "today," would he have gotten her phone back right away to be able to take screenshots the same day? Wouldn't the police want it?

When you change someone's name on your contacts list the name changes on old texts and calls. You can also change contact information via iCloud. I guess what I'm asking is, are we certain Hilda Marcela was the one in the kitchen doing lines and not Christy? Cilliers could have changed the names.

by Anonymousreply 299November 21, 2021 9:15 AM

What really happened could be pretty unsatisfying. The girls could have bought their own drugs from a stranger at the warehouse party, gone to the afterparty and done their own lines in the kitchen while other people were doing their own drugs or just partying in the other room. It’s not that uncommon at afterparties for people to stick to what they brought themselves, for the sake of “safety”.

It turned out girls’ drugs were laced with fentanyl, which made them feel weird. Perhaps Chrissy needed to lie down and that’s why she texted Hilda to take her home. Hilda started feeling sick from from the lines as well and lied down with Chrissy. Others continued partying and let the girls chill until they felt better.

A couple of hours later the party was coming to an end, but the girls were still “sleeping” - that’s when the guys discovered that one of them OD’d and was dead while the other was barely alive. Not knowing what to do, they dropped them off at hospitals.

It could be as simple as that, but it’s not in husband’s best interest. For the sake of grifting on GoFundMe it’s better to make the case as mysterious as possible.

Exactly. A fringe type. Your average woman doesn’t go to wild swing parties in LA and leave with strangers, especially when they’re married & being tracked by their husbands.

Why are people baffled by this case? People party, od and then get dropped off at the hospital by strangers/scumbags quite often. The only unusual thing about it is that they were dumped by someone with the foresight to remove plates from the car.

by Anonymousreply 310November 21, 2021 6:18 PM

IIRC, she was from Alabama and, maybe, she was just out of her depth at the club and the party.

by Anonymousreply 311November 21, 2021 6:54 PM

R305, well, I agree that the whole married part is odd, but young people attending wild parties is not fringe. Maybe in Alabama, but not LA.

by Anonymousreply 312November 21, 2021 6:57 PM

To whomever keeps making the “human trafficking” comments, you must not know any young women. Not every young female who turns to prostitution is kidnapped or coerced, sometimes it’s a gradual slide due to an incremental relaxing of standards and principles. Many are women without resources, but not all.

I had a friend who went to a top-notch university and was signed with a prestigious modeling agency in NYC. As she aged into her mid-twenties, work was scarce. She became a stripper and eventually had ‘patrons’, older men who would buy things for her like furniture sets, jewelry, electronics, cruises, and tuition to an art school. Many of the ladies she worked with did the same thing, and from there it’s an easy slide into becoming an escort. One of the gals was the daughter of a university dean. Another two were former Marines. All of these women had other options to make money but they were young and didn’t want to be tied down to a 9 to 5. They enjoyed the lifestyle while it lasted and most eventually got married and had kids.

by Anonymousreply 313November 21, 2021 7:46 PM

" I understand LE can't say too much because it's an ongoing investigation, but didn't they release updates every few days about Gabby Petito?"

Petito was "missing" for ages, and the police wanted to get the word out, in the hopes that she might be found. Well, she was found, but the story stayed in the news for weeks afterwards because the killer BF also went missing, and there was a second hunt! Nothing like the thrill of the chase to get people interested!

And this poor gal never made the headlines until she was dead. And it's true, the likeliest explanation is an overdose of recreational drugs, with the second-likeliest being date-rape drugs on top of party drugs. No conspiracy, no human trafficking, just "partying".

by Anonymousreply 314November 21, 2021 11:57 PM

R311, she had been living in LA since at least 2016, probably 2015, and was familiar with 'party drugs'. We're not talking about a clueless babe in the woods here.

by Anonymousreply 315November 22, 2021 12:09 AM
she had been living in LA since at least 2016, probably 2015, and was familiar with 'party drugs'. We're not talking about a clueless babe in the woods here.

She wasn't very successful as a model then, seeing as nobody outside of the LA party scene had ever heard of her. She was obviously making money through other "avenues".

by Anonymousreply 316November 22, 2021 12:12 AM

She probably couldn't live off her modeling work (at least not comfortably), but she was represented by an established modeling agency, and I'm guessing had just enough connections to get invited to industry parties/fancy clubs where she'd cross paths with wealthy guys looking for 'entertainment'. As R313 said, it probably was a gradual slide from full-time modeling (or trying to book modeling jobs) into escorting. She saw a roommate suck cock for money and make it seem glamourous and 'empowered'. By the time the realization set in that she wasn't going to hit it big as a model, she'd probably met dozens of girls doing the same.

Not sure how the husband fits in ... maybe he got turned on by it? I'm getting cuckold vibes from him.

by Anonymousreply 317November 22, 2021 1:13 AM

Ms Giles got the news that her daughter was at the hospital when her son-in-law, who was in San Fransisco for the weekend, was desperately trying to reach his wife all day following the party, and he noticed that the location of her phone had moved from West Hollywood to the Culver City hospital.

“He then immediately called the Culver City hospital. All they would do was confirm she was a patient in their emergency room. He then immediately called me. I’m a registered nurse. I spoke to them – I knew what they needed,” said Ms Giles.

“They told me that ‘this was not normal for them, and that three unidentified men had dropped her lifeless body on the sidewalk’ and when her husband called they thought it could be one of them calling back and they weren’t giving any information out. ...

Okay that answers some of my questions. But I still don’t understand how the hospital told anyone anything, even Christy’s mother. The police should have been involved at that point - a dead woman left on a footpath is almost certainly suspicious, and once they saw she was dumped there, it’s a criminal matter.

by Anonymousreply 318November 22, 2021 1:16 AM

R317, he doesn’t seem to have any feeling about his wife leaving a party with two men and going to an apartment with them. He strikes me as one of those pickup artist dudes who “negs” attractive women who are deeply insecure.

by Anonymousreply 319November 22, 2021 1:20 AM

Instagram has threatened to remove her account for 'violationg our community guidelines'. Looks like hubby will have to delete all those tasteful nudes ...

by Anonymousreply 320November 22, 2021 1:27 AM

The hospital should have directed anyone who called about her to contact the police. She was already dead on arrival and the hospital didn't really provide any treatment. It's entirely a police matter at that point.

by Anonymousreply 321November 22, 2021 1:28 AM

The type of people who flock to these types of threads are almost more disturbing than the crimes themselves.

by Anonymousreply 322November 22, 2021 1:40 AM

No way. If I worked at the hospital and someone called asking about a DOA that was dumped in the parking lot I’d ask them for their name, their number and their address and I’d tell them if she shows up, we will get in touch. Then I’d hand the information to the police. You have no idea who’s calling. It could be anyone claiming to be a spouse. Police will formally ID the victim & contact next of kin precisely because it is a police matter.

by Anonymousreply 323November 22, 2021 2:39 AM

I don't think ER personnel are formally trained in what to do if someone drops a dead body in the ambulance bay, it doesn't happen often enough.

As noted many times, most people who want to get rid of dead bodies throw them in rivers or dumpsters, or if they're in LA, the Angeles National Forest. I've heard that's the semi-official body dumping ground, the west coast equivalent of the Jersey Pine Barrens.

by Anonymousreply 324November 22, 2021 2:47 AM

R324, must be pretty stupid ER staff if they can’t figure out they need to call the police when someone dumps a DOA on the footpath and drives away. Unattended deaths require an investigation by the ME. I’m not even a doctor and I know that. Was it just a bunch of high school dropouts staffing the ER that night?

by Anonymousreply 325November 22, 2021 3:24 AM
I don't think ER personnel are formally trained in what to do if someone drops a dead body in the ambulance bay, it doesn't happen often enough.

It does happen. I used to work in an inner-city trauma center. We'd get gang-bangers that had been shot, who would be shoved out of a car at the entrance, and then the car would speed away. Some were DOA, others were treated and survived. We would joke and say this person was a VIP who arrived by private car.

by Anonymousreply 326November 22, 2021 3:47 AM

Maybe her medical records had her parents listed as emergency contact rather than the sketchy husband, and that’s why they were contacted first.

It’s hard to know a dead body is married.

by Anonymousreply 327November 22, 2021 4:43 AM

R327, good points. The dumpers were considerate enough to leave her wallet/phone/purse with her body. Otherwise she’d be a Jane Doe until the husband tracked her down.

by Anonymousreply 337November 22, 2021 11:36 PM

What century do some of you live in? Young women have been encouraged to 'party' and experiment sexually for the last few decades. Maybe not in Bumfucke Alabama, but certainly in liberal areas. Women have also been selling their bodies since the dawn of times.

The only really unusual thing about this girl's lifestyle was that she got married at 21.

by Anonymousreply 338November 23, 2021 12:06 AM

R322 Don't be all high and mighty, if people wouldn't be interested in cases like this, there would be no real crime shows.

And yes, there's mystery here. It might be totally different than the Gabby Pepito case, because Christie and Hilda are different women than her, but still... two attractive young women suddenly turn up (half) dead at a hospital. Of course it garners interest what happened here and if someone is responsible for this. Were they regular party girls? Did they slowly slide into doing escorting, sex work, whatever? How does the husband fit in? Did they go to the "after party", because of one ill-advised, possibly drunk decision? Or did they have a habit of going with strange, sleazy men? Did they accidentally OD with fentanyl laced drugs? Were they forced to take the drugs by their sleazy company? If they were killed, will the guys go scot free or will it all come to light and they'll go to jail?

by Anonymousreply 339November 23, 2021 12:52 AM

People keep focusing on Christy, Hilda is the one who interests me because of her education, background and career ambition. On the surface the two of them look like opposites and Hilda only moved to the U.S. from Mexico this past summer so how would they have met, etc?

by Anonymousreply 343November 23, 2021 1:51 AM

R335, who was the “extra mom”?

R340, I think she’s interesting, too. Even if she had a legit career, she may have enjoyed earning extra cash doing sex things or having a sugar daddy. How did they meet? The two other cases that are similar to this (in my mind) have young influencer women meeting their “best friends” via Bumble BFF or similar apps for making friends. It seems extremely sketchy and a breeding ground for predatory people. These women move to areas where they don’t know anyone amd that’s how they meet people. I don’t know how Hilda and Christy met, but I would be surprised if they *didn’t* meet that way.

by Anonymousreply 344November 23, 2021 1:54 AM

R344, One thing I noticed is that tons of people have posted tributes to Christy on instagram, but I've seen VERY few posts mentioning Hilda, or showing the two girls together. It really doesn't look like they knew each other very well. And there's another thing. As I have mentioned before, the last tweets on Christy's (now private) twitter account sounded like she wasn't in a good place mentally. In one post she actually complained about having lost friends, or old friends not reaching out anymore or something like that. Leaving aside the theories about prostitution etc., she sounded exactly like the kind of girl who'd cling to, and go out to party with someone she'd only just met.

At least Christy lived a little, and landed a FEW legit modeling jobs (allegedly)

by Anonymousreply 347November 23, 2021 3:28 AM

I don’t think she was a hooker. She went out with friends, met some guys who knew of a party and had drugs so they went.

She and her husband are a little hippy dippy Burning Man types who party with whomever. So, for her to party without her husband is not too strange, as it’s their lifestyle. He probably keeps tabs on her because he knows their world can be iffy sometimes and she’s a free-spirited beauty whom he loves.

This is just my opinion.

This story is the younger generation's version of Looking for Mr. Goodbar.

by Anonymousreply 349November 23, 2021 3:52 AM

by Anonymousreply 350November 23, 2021 3:59 AM

R348 we've been overrun by conspiracy nuts and old ladies who think only hookers go out to clubs and parties

by Anonymousreply 351November 23, 2021 4:08 AM

Please, nobody thinks she was a hooker just because she went out clubbing. You sound like a 14-year-old who just got invited to their first party, and thinks everyone else is out of touch.

Christy was a little-known model with so many nude/semi nude photos on her instagram page that instagram threatened to remove her account. Few of her photos show her modeling actual clothes (or perfume, jewellery) with a designer/brand name tagged. She posted some full-frontal nudes on twitter (nothing pornographic though). Most of the photographers she worked with were fairly unknown with less than 10k followers.

Modeling doesn't pay that much unless you're A-list and get to work for famous brands, and it doesn't look like she was booked for 'real' modeling very often. I don't see how she could have sustained her lifestyle unless the had a lucrative side job. A lot of models do some escorting on the side. You also have to be somewhat open to the idea of sex work to let a porn actor move into your apartment.

Obviously none of that proves that she was a hooker, escort, or whatever you like to call it, but it's not much of a reach to think she might have been.

by Anonymousreply 352November 23, 2021 5:36 AM

I think r351 underestimates how much quid pro quo happens between attractive women and horny men. It’s not exactly strict prostitution, but there’s a lot of gray area. To paraphrase an old Paul Theroux novel, plenty of girls would do plenty of things for a pair of pretty boots or a weekend in Ibiza.

by Anonymousreply 353November 23, 2021 5:37 AM

R345, that’s interesting. I didn’t see any of her actual social media.

I don’t know if it’s a generation thing, but it seems the apps are a shortcut to an Instagram-ready group of friends. I wasn’t aware of it until rather recently.

It seems to be a bad idea to move to another part of the country and throw your lot in with a weird dude who tracks your every move and try to be an influencer on social media. Winds up being fatal quite often.

by Anonymousreply 354November 23, 2021 5:49 AM

"[R348] we've been overrun by conspiracy nuts and old ladies who think only hookers go out to clubs and parties"

Nobody thinks she was a hooker because she partied, modeled, and "modeled", people think she was a hooker because she seemed to be living beyond her means.

[bold]There was a third girl.[/bold]

Most of the conversation in this thread is about Christy Giles but her friend is the one who interests me. I mentioned up thread that Hilda Marcela's parents call her Marcela.

11/23/2021 (Univision via Google Translate):
LOS ANGELES, California .- Hilda Marcela Cabrales struggles to survive almost 10 days after being abandoned at the entrance of a Los Angeles hospital, on the brink of death. Meanwhile, hundreds of people began collecting signatures, demanding an FBI investigation into the case.
"We demand a prompt investigation into the case of the young Duran woman Hilda Marcela Cabrales Arzola #NiUnaMas coverage of expenses and protection of her family," reads a campaign on the Change.org platform that this Monday accumulated more than 300 signatures.
The secrecy on the part of the local authorities is constant. It is only known that there is an ongoing investigation and that the local investigations verify each piece of information shared by the women in the early morning of November 13, when in the middle of a party they agreed to join an “after party” celebration that ended very badly.
Preliminary reports said Marcela, Christy and another woman were at a party at Soho House in Los Angeles, where the former is said to have met a man who invited them to a party in the Hollywood Hills.
The third woman, who asked local media not to be identified, assures that she was with Cabrales and Giles until 4:00 in the morning of Saturday 13 and described that both acted consistently.

Reminds me of the case where the actress who played Angie on Welcome Back Kotter was found unconscious & bleeding in a Long Island Railroad car. She was taken to the hospital I worked at and was treated HORRIBLY by the media. She was a crime victim and they laughed at her and made her out to be a slut. She had been invited to spend the weekend in Southampton with producer Roy Radin & his girlfriend. She was drugged, raped and it was filmed. She was dumped on the train by someone. Radin claimed she was a willing sex partner in a threesome or something like that. Media believed Radin. There were so many photographers and video camera men outside the hospital waiting to take her picture. We tried to sneak her out in a nurse’s uniform but they recognized her.

Radin was latermurdered.

by Anonymousreply 361November 26, 2021 2:16 AM

This whole case is so odd. It's been almost two weeks, the name of one of the alleged perpetrators is all over social media, a neighbor allegedly heard 'moaning' from his apartment, but still no update/comment from authorities? All we know is what the husband and family are thinking. None of their claims have been confirmed as far as I'm aware. Were the girls raped? Is there really a surveillance tape showing 3 masked men dumping Christy's body at the hospital? Do the girls' final text messages say what the husband claims they say? Surely some of those questions could be answered by now?

by Anonymousreply 362November 26, 2021 2:33 AM

WHY DOES SHE HAVE HER ASS OUT ON INSTAGRAM

by Anonymousreply 363November 26, 2021 2:50 AM

Is her instagram still there?

by Anonymousreply 364November 26, 2021 3:52 AM

She posed that way and was partying at a Soho House (or was it a warehouse party? I’m confused about the reporting and perhaps that is intentional) and her husband was tracking her whereabouts. Sounds like sex work to me.

Soho House scene sounds sleazy and shady.

by Anonymousreply 365November 26, 2021 12:55 PM

Yes, it's still there, R364. Her most recent post was deleted though, I'm guessing because of a few VERY harsh comments (lots of slut shaming, and someone called her 'yet another liberal she/her whore who deserved to die' or something like that). Tbh I was shocked those comments didn't get reported and deleted; some were worse than what you read here on DL and that's saying something.

We need Law enforcement to pay attention to the intersection of race and class!

by Anonymousreply 367November 26, 2021 8:47 PM

It was in all likelihood an OD. Probably fentanyl laced stuff. This speculation reminds me of the 500 plus posts ( some absurdly outlandish) in a thread about that California family who succumbed to heat exhaustion. The simplest explanation is usually the right one.

by Anonymousreply 368November 26, 2021 10:56 PM

R368 yes, but was a deliberate OD or not? I don't buy the QAnon-esque sex worker/human trafficking BS, but the neighbor saying they heard painful moans all day and that the girls were dumped at separate hospitals makes me think that Creepy Dave meant to rape them, or even meant to rape them A LOT, but didn't meant to kill them.

But he probably could've avoided the murder charges incoming if he dumped them when they started moaning.

by Anonymousreply 369November 26, 2021 11:09 PM

If they were raped - or even if it were consensual - it would be noted in an exam or autopsy. We might not ever know the answer, but the authorities probably know.

What I wonder is, if there were people doing lines in the kitchen, did they OD, too?

And the report of someone moaning in pain - was it a man or a woman? Wouldn’t it be more or less evident?

by Anonymousreply 370November 26, 2021 11:17 PM

Note that the husband said about the Hilda's toxicology results, 'I GUESS they found heroin in her system'. So he doesn't even know for sure. Maybe it was Fentanyl. Christy's mother also mentioned trace amounts of cocaine and something else I forgot (ecstasy?).

So the apartment where Christy spent her final hours belongs to one Dave Pearce, said Dave Pearce has been accused of drugging and raping women before, a neighbor heard suspicious 'moaning' from the apartment, there are text messages suggesting the girls were trying to leave, and Dave Pearce and his friends, or someone working for them, dumped the girls (one dead, one barely alive) at different hospitals two hours apart using a car without license plates .... yet nobody has been arrested, and the case has completely disappared from the headlines? Something doesn't add up.

Dave Pearce just sounds like some wannabe poseur, I'm not buying that he's being 'protected'.

by Anonymousreply 373November 27, 2021 3:34 PM

R372, overdosing on fentanyl is what's mundane these days.

by Anonymousreply 374November 27, 2021 4:18 PM

The police/medical examiner probably don't know what the cause of death is yet. They obviously are suspecting drug overdose and waiting for toxicology. They are not going to arrest anyone if the death hasn't even been determined to be a homicide yet.

by Anonymousreply 375November 27, 2021 7:30 PM

Exactly what I think, too, r375.

I still want to know if anyone confirmed that Marcela called an Uber. And if anyone else got sick from the same drugs the women took. And if the person reportedly “moaning in pain for hours” sounded like a man or a woman.

Last night I watched the documentary about the rise and fall of Von Dutch. It reminded me of this story. There were so many sleazy and predatory trashy people. We kept laughing at how depraved and scummy they all were. And how utterly stupid.

R379, thanks for sharing that. Good.

R380, I think that Pearce’s sleazy behavior landed on just this side of “legal”. Probably would have hinged on “he said/she said”. The women he preyed upon were probably young and perhaps easily discredited or written off. It happened here: “that’s what happens when you go home with a stranger”, shit like that. Date rape drugs clear the system quickly, too. By the time someone is able to get tested, it’s too late.

This is probably the first incident where there’s enough evidence to do something.
I had my doubts police were doing anything at all

Why? Because they haven’t been updating you?
It’s been almost two weeks…..but still no update/comment from authorities?

Too funny to see people whining in this thread that they haven’t heard any updates from police. Well, hate to tell you, but a case involving a dead and a wounded young woman which has been well publicized isn’t considered by police to be entertainment for nosy old fraus. They’re quite happy to carry on their investigations without giving press conferences.

by Anonymousreply 383November 28, 2021 7:02 PM

Maybe, self-righteous cunt at R383, people were confused because it sounded like the case had pretty much been solved? Also, Christy Giles' family didn't seem to have much trust the police would do their job. They launched a gofundme to pay for private investigators TWO days after her death, and the interviews the gave, and what they posted on social media made it sound like LAPD were treating it as yet another overdose!

What are you doing on this thread? Trying to make the world a better place by educating people on police work, and protecting the dead from nosy old fraus? Sure, cunt. Get back on your high horse and ride off into the sunset.

Because that’s most likely what it is.

by Anonymousreply 386November 29, 2021 3:31 AM

Idk, R386. At first I thought the husband and families were in denial about the girls' drug use; I even suspected Cilliers of having made up parts of the story he told. But with all that's come out about Dave Pearce, it seems likely there was foul play involved. Likely not premediated murder or some kind of crazy snuff porn scenario, but a case of date-rape drugging gone terribly wrong.

by Anonymousreply 387November 29, 2021 3:50 AM

...obviously date-rape drugging is *always* wrong; I meant that the guys accidentally gave them too much (or the stuff turned out to be laced) , panicked when the girls overdosed and instead of attempting to save them, tried to cover their tracks.

by Anonymousreply 388November 29, 2021 3:54 AM

R388 Yes, I'm leaning towards such a scenario too. Either the girls took drugs from the guys, that were (unbeknownst to them and maybe even the men) laced with fentanyl or something, which lead to an accidental overdose. Or they were given drugs they'd usually not take for date rape purposes. I don't think anyone planned to kill those young women, driving them to a hospital afterwards just wouldn't make sense in that case. There are better ways to dispose of corpses. Maybe the men realised something was wrong the next morning, but didn't immediately bring the girls to a hospital (hence the moaning), because they hoped they'd get better on their own after sleeping it off and nobody would get in trouble.

Were there any sign of fluids, ligature marks, are bruising on the inner thighs?

You KNOW there had to be spermicide left from a condom.

by Anonymousreply 390November 30, 2021 1:21 AM

R390, I don't know about Hilda, but one article mentioned that no bruises or scratches were found on Christy's body.

Yet the neighbor claims he overheard someone moaning in pain. Is it possible to rape someone, so violently as to make them moan in pain (for hours!), without leaving any visible injuries? Was there no or very little bruising, bleeding etc. because she was already dead? Did they only rape Hilda?

It's all very weird.

by Anonymousreply 391November 30, 2021 5:47 AM

Christy Giles' mother liked this post on instagram. The family doesn't seem to trust LAPD at all.
Also guilty: the Beverly Hills & Los Angeles Police Departments for dereliction of duty (at best) in failing to lock this guy up years ago. He was arrested 5 times over 10 years, most recently, this summer. The LAPD also allows rampant drug use & other bad behavior by celebrities in exchange for favors (being invited to their sex parties, for example). Apparently laws do not apply if you are rich or famous .... #lapdiscorrupt

Interestingly, Hilda Cabrales' father seems to have more confidence police will do their job (quote from a DM article):
'The detectives have spoken with us several times and they told us that for the LAPD this is personal because the people behind this have done it before but it had never gone as far as this,' he confirmed. 'The police opened an emergency line and have apparently been speaking with people but have asked us to be patient while they put the case together,' Rivera continued. 'The detectives told us they're indignant that these guys had the chance to save Hilda and Christy's lives but preferred to abandon them to their luck.'

R391 I guess there are a number of reasons why the neighbour might have heard moaning that don't necessarily involve rape or injuries caused by rape. I don't know how ecactly a fentanyl or other drug overdose looks like, but if your body is barely holding on, then I'm sure moaning is possible. Maybe LAPD is holding some information back, but if you're half dead from being raped, then yeah, your body would show signs. And if you can't say if the victim had consensual sex or not, then I guess that alone wouldn't cause you to moan in pain for a day and then die. So I'm pretty sure the main aspect here is drug use. The question is if that was voluntary on the women's part or not. Or whatever there is in between (e.g. voluntarily taking coke, but unfortunately coming across laced stuff), then it's all about who knew and did it on purpose etc.

R392 Depending on what might have happened a bereaved parent could be prone to not being satisfied with what LAPD is doing, because the explanation might not feel sufficient enough for the tragedy that happened. The post stated drug use and bad behaviour as problems, but while I'm sure the former is sometimes turned a blind eye to, if celebs are involved, the latter is not exactly punishable by law. What even is bad behaviour? Having sleazy parties with shady women? Perfecly legal. Parties with sex workers? Not sure how laws are in California regarding that, in my country it would be legal as well. Rape? Definitely a crime. So... feels it could be anything and if they are at least half-clever then they know how to keep it on the sleazy, but legal side of things.

By the pictures of his apartment and the fact that I've never heard his name before (and his claim to fame is a Ron Jeremy photo from 2009), I'm gonna say Creepy Dave is neither rich nor famous

by Anonymousreply 394November 30, 2021 8:11 AM

But the police won’t tell meeeeee what’s going onnnnn!

by Anonymousreply 395November 30, 2021 6:00 PM
I don't know how ecactly a fentanyl or other drug overdose looks like, but if your body is barely holding on, then I'm sure moaning is possible.

A fentanyl or opioid overdose causes a person to feel euphoric and relaxed, then you fall asleep and stop breathing.

by Anonymousreply 396November 30, 2021 6:06 PM

R395, lol. Yeah, good luck with that. The LAPD (and all huge city police departments, really) has never exactly been forthcoming about the details of their investigations with the public and press.
