Gun charges dismissed by judge in Kyle Rittenhouse trial!!

He’s going to walk .

by Anonymousreply 600November 20, 2021 1:59 AM

Yes he will...something else to be sick over now. The ugly little turd should have stayed home and played video games..

by Anonymousreply 1November 15, 2021 4:30 PM

Mouth breathers unite!

by Anonymousreply 2November 15, 2021 4:33 PM

The judge is doing all he can to get Rittenhouse off but it's still down to the jury. I wouldn't be surprised, you never know. I do find it pretty scary that a vigilante would simply be legally sanctioned in going and shooting people who have mildly threatened him, if at all. I really hope the jury sees through this but US juries seem to like letting killers off the hook... :S

[quote]The judge is doing all he can to get Rittenhouse off

Pics please.

by Anonymousreply 4November 15, 2021 4:37 PM

Go Kyle! The racists tried to lynch him but they will fail.

by Anonymousreply 5November 15, 2021 4:37 PM

Oh boy here come the wingnuts screaming about activists judges, amirite?

Right?

Waiting...

by Anonymousreply 6November 15, 2021 4:40 PM

Is this a big thing because of the crime itself or because of the cable coverage? Is there likely to be rioting?

by Anonymousreply 7November 15, 2021 4:41 PM

Anyone think riots possibly in many cities? Twitter is fuming

by Anonymousreply 8November 15, 2021 4:42 PM

If he walks, someone needs to take him out.

by Anonymousreply 9November 15, 2021 4:43 PM

R6, Do you have r3 blocked or something? There’s your wingnut.

by Anonymousreply 10November 15, 2021 4:44 PM

He should have shot more of the rioters/looters.

by Anonymousreply 11November 15, 2021 4:45 PM

Highly doubt anyone will riot if he gets off. He didn’t kill any black people. Try watching the trial uff you can. Lots of videos if the shooting.

by Anonymousreply 12November 15, 2021 4:46 PM

Shot just the yte rioters/looters

by Anonymousreply 13November 15, 2021 4:46 PM

R10 You call me a 'wingnut' but if I am, then why don't the police just shoot every looter/rioter/protestor at sight?

by Anonymousreply 14November 15, 2021 4:47 PM

Wasn't he underage for carrying a gun? That's the only charge I thought would stick.

by Anonymousreply 15November 15, 2021 4:48 PM

Regardless of his bias, the judge is a showboating joke.

by Anonymousreply 16November 15, 2021 4:50 PM

Are any of the people who burned Kenosha down to the ground on trial? Anyone?

by Anonymousreply 17November 15, 2021 4:50 PM

by Anonymousreply 22November 15, 2021 4:57 PM

Kyle will walk

by Anonymousreply 23November 15, 2021 4:57 PM

If he walks, how long do you think before he gets himself in trouble again?

by Anonymousreply 24November 15, 2021 5:01 PM

I'm sure he'll be a paragon of virtue, just like his hero George Zimmerman.

by Anonymousreply 25November 15, 2021 5:08 PM

Punchable face. This wont end well for him regardless.

by Anonymousreply 26November 15, 2021 5:08 PM

R24, he will be basking in his millions after lawsuits against the lying media

by Anonymousreply 27November 15, 2021 5:08 PM

He's going home.

Even if the jury comes back with a guilty verdict on all counts, he'll go home. This judge will set aside the verdict.

Judges are allowed to go against a jury's verdict

This was a bad case and it never should have been taken to court. The D.A was under a lot of pressure to charge him. He's the one who decided, not the prosecutor, who was handed this terrible case

by Anonymousreply 28November 15, 2021 5:08 PM

It wasn't a bad case, this kid killed two people and seriously injured a third. There is simply no way that Rittenhouse was legally justified in everything he did that night. It had to go to trial.

by Anonymousreply 29November 15, 2021 5:11 PM

R28 I don't see how it's a bad case, even if the jury/judge lets him walk. This man deliberately went there with a powerful weapon and shot multiple people when nobody else was killed the same night.

by Anonymousreply 30November 15, 2021 5:11 PM

R29, Three people that were trying to kill him.

by Anonymousreply 31November 15, 2021 5:13 PM

KH was running from people he shot. There were gunshots behind he so he turned around and victim 1 reached for his gun. Crowd continued to chase and KR fell down and was stomped and hit with skateboard. Third victim had a gun pointing at him. This seems like self defense. He didn’t shoot them to protect property.

by Anonymousreply 32November 15, 2021 5:13 PM

Verdict is in. I’ll be shocked if he’s convicted of anything.

by Anonymousreply 33November 15, 2021 5:13 PM

R31 And what are the chances of that? Three people tried to kill him? Cops as well as crowds of people were there and didn't kill people.

by Anonymousreply 34November 15, 2021 5:14 PM

For those idiots who defend him, can you explain the prosecutor pointing out why the only people dead from that night of chaos were killed by Rittenhouse?

by Anonymousreply 35November 15, 2021 5:14 PM

..KR..

by Anonymousreply 36November 15, 2021 5:14 PM

Keep defending the dead peodphile.

by Anonymousreply 37November 15, 2021 5:15 PM

[quote]Three people tried to kill

As I just pointed out, funny how no one else among the crowd was killed except those killed by Rittenhouse himself. So STFU. Stop acting like an asshole who showed up with a fucking AR is some victim. He was the only fucker who killed anyone in that enormous crowd. THE ONLY FUCKING ONE WHO KILLED PEOPLE.

by Anonymousreply 38November 15, 2021 5:16 PM

If nothing else - and I recognize it will make no difference to the future of the country - this case illustrates why the world looks at guns in the United States and sees nothing but insanity. No one anywhere admires the fetish for guns that is unique to the U.S.

The second amendment is worth this? Seriously?

by Anonymousreply 39November 15, 2021 5:17 PM

R37, I'm not surprised Rittenhouse defenders are as fucking stupid as you. You have to mention he was a pedo to defend that Rittenhouse killed him NOT knowing what the fuck he was.

You are the stupidest fucking people.

by Anonymousreply 40November 15, 2021 5:17 PM

Meanwhile, the Rittenhouse defenders *knowingly* vote for rapists, pedos and spousal abusers.

by Anonymousreply 41November 15, 2021 5:18 PM

The judge is a white supremacist MAGAT.

None of this is surprising.

by Anonymousreply 42November 15, 2021 5:19 PM

R34, well if someone is being chased by an angry mob of anarchists some of whom have guns then it’s highly likely he could have gotten killed.

by Anonymousreply 43November 15, 2021 5:19 PM

R41, I am a Rittenhouse supporter and I don’t support Republican politicians. This isn’t a right vs left issue. Kyle was acting in self defense.

by Anonymousreply 44November 15, 2021 5:22 PM

R43 Bullshit, he was wanting to shoot people. He deliberately traveled from Illinois to Wisconsin with an AR-15 gun. He was politically motivated. He wanted to kill people and found reasons to.

by Anonymousreply 45November 15, 2021 5:23 PM

this is disgusting, r44 is a troll and likewise a disgusting piece of filth

by Anonymousreply 46November 15, 2021 5:23 PM

R43, he had no business being there. None. And he was the only one who killed people because he put himself in a situation to kill people. Fuck you, fuck him and fuck the pedo. You're all trash. Trust me, none of you is good. You're all the garbage making this country go to shit.

By your logic, if Rittenhouse had killed Trump, that would be good because we all fucking know Trump is a rapist including of a 12 yo. We all fucking know it. So his defenders can fuck right off with the "pedo" excuse for him killing someone he didn't know at all. His defenders worship absolute garbage.

by Anonymousreply 47November 15, 2021 5:23 PM

He's a POS but he won't be found guilty. The jury is going to say there's reasonable doubt and that self-defense is plausible. I think he went there to kill rioters as part of the sick fantasy so many of these deplorables have, but it's too hard to prove.

by Anonymousreply 48November 15, 2021 5:25 PM

[quote] He's going home. Even if the jury comes back with a guilty verdict on all counts, he'll go home. This judge will set aside the verdict. He's the one who decided, not the prosecutor, who was handed this terrible case

3 people shot (2 died) by an unlicensed gun owner. The case goes to trial. Which is not unusual (despite your claim of pressure on the DA) The shooter claims self defense so you argue that the case should not have been tried. Maybe no self defense cases should be tried. Everyone should own an unlicensed gun, shoot indiscriminately and plead self defense.

I imagine a vigilante loon with an unlicensed weapon will have to shoot up some gay white males at a gay rights protest for some of you to understand the dangerous precedent being set by this case.

by Anonymousreply 49November 15, 2021 5:26 PM

It is not self-defense when you literally DRIVE TOWARDS THE VIOLENCE AND ILLEGALLY PURCHASE A GOD DAMNED MILITARY-STYLE WEAPON

by Anonymousreply 50November 15, 2021 5:26 PM

Some of you are so fucking thick. He armed himself for protection. He was there because he worked there and his Dad lives there. He was putting out fires and giving first aid including aiding a black woman who'd hurt her ankle. There is footage of him doing this.

The three men he killed were attacking him. They chased him down. He tried fleeing. This was all caught on film. It was self defence.

Why do any of you care that he killed a child rapist, a wife beater and a criminal?

by Anonymousreply 51November 15, 2021 5:27 PM

Cut it the fuck out, r49. You know damn well that the majority of the guys defending Rittenhouse on here aren't the gay regulars of DL.

by Anonymousreply 52November 15, 2021 5:27 PM

R45, You are a moron who is repeating debunked lies.. No better than a trump supporter just on the opposite extreme.

R47, If Trump was chasing after him with a gun then fuck yes I would support him shooting Trump. I don’t like Trump. Not everyone supports politicians.

Btw Biden molested his daughter Ashley. It’s in her diaries that there is currently and not surprisingly a media blackout on.

by Anonymousreply 53November 15, 2021 5:28 PM

STFU. He ILLEGALLY purchased a fucking AR. STFU. Stop trying to turn him into a fucking boy scout.

by Anonymousreply 54November 15, 2021 5:29 PM

by Anonymousreply 56November 15, 2021 5:31 PM

I was going to rage at R44, but thanks to R45, R46, R50, and R54, I don't have to.

You all said exactly what I wanted to say.

He went there to murder people, and he did it.

I hope someone exacts vengeance on this fucking cunt, and gives him what he deserves.

Maybe the court won't serve him justice, but I hope that someone will do it eventually.

by Anonymousreply 57November 15, 2021 5:32 PM

R51 No grease fire is big enough for you fat sack of shit!

by Anonymousreply 58November 15, 2021 5:33 PM

A kid was shot and killed playing with a toy gun in a playground. Police found not guilty. Kyle was driven by his mom to a protest/riot, given an illegal AR and shot and killed two people. He will walk because he is a baby faced fake crying white kid. If it was a Jamal with an afro and gold teeth, jail for life.

by Anonymousreply 59November 15, 2021 5:34 PM

R11 Nah. He should've stayed the fuck at home with his underage-punk ass. Once he walks, we're going to have more inbreed, underage toilet babies patrolling cities and shooting people with assault rifles.

R53 QAnon cousin-fucker alert!!!

by Anonymousreply 60November 15, 2021 5:35 PM

Lol, This ugly midget had no fucking business going out armed. He's not a cop, he's not a fucking soldier. He's a 4chan using pig faced magat, And keep the peace? Lmao, yeah machine guns are peaceful. Turd.

by Anonymousreply 61November 15, 2021 5:35 PM

Why do you care so much, R54, that he killed a child rapists? He was attacked. It was self defense. There is footage proving it.

Fucking morons.

by Anonymousreply 63November 15, 2021 5:36 PM

The raging DTS on this thread is hilarious.

So much anger because a kid killed a child rapists in self defense..

by Anonymousreply 64November 15, 2021 5:37 PM

Kyle will walk because he acted in self defense. Period.

The mainstream media is trying to make this case about race, despite the fact that the two victims were white. As was true with the Floyd case, the media clearly has an agenda here, and they’re doing everything they can, including propogating outright lies to influence public opinion.

The mainstream Leftist media is determined to convince you that the biggest threat to America in 2021 is white supremacy. I call bullshit.

In fact the media, along with many Leftist politicians actually encouraged violent rioting, looting, and destruction of personal property, following the infamous Floyd video. All for a violent crack head felon who was non-compliant and resisting arrest, complaining of breathing difficulties while he was still in the police vehicle. Of course, the media intentionally didn’t show the full video which blew their narrative of “white supremacist cop killing innocent black man” to smithereens.

The mainstream media has chosen to admonish and vilify Kyle as a racist white supremacist, when in reality the evidence shows he went to Kenosha to maintain law and order and protect personal property from looting. .

The reason why Dems are going to lose majorly in 2022 and 2024 (including the Presidency) is because they’ve tried, unsuccessfully, to make everything about race and vilify all white people as racist and all black people as victims. Many people, including myself and other blacks have had enough.

by Anonymousreply 65November 15, 2021 5:37 PM

[quote] Some of you are so fucking thick. He armed himself for protection. He was there because he worked there and his Dad lives there. He was putting out fires and giving first aid including aiding a black woman who'd hurt her ankle. There is footage of him doing this.

When a vigilante shooter (emboldened by this case) guns you or your loved ones down. Hopefully they will remember their first aid kit so they can be recognized as the trained expert medical professionals that they are.

by Anonymousreply 66November 15, 2021 5:38 PM

Keep repeating he killed a child rapist over and over fat rightwing cunt…

by Anonymousreply 67November 15, 2021 5:39 PM

Sorry but like someone already pointed out, the 'child rapists' thing is a huge logical fallacy. He did not know these people. I really don't think you'd necessarily want vigilantes walking around with AR-15s shooting people they think are law-breakers.

by Anonymousreply 68November 15, 2021 5:39 PM

[quote] in reality the evidence shows he went to Kenosha to maintain law and order and protect personal property from looting. .

Which he had no defensible or legal reason to do..

by Anonymousreply 69November 15, 2021 5:40 PM

You know damn well that shistain judge would have had this turd acquitted to 250 years in prison had he'd been black/brown. Even if it was self defense like this ugly pig claims.

by Anonymousreply 70November 15, 2021 5:40 PM

My loved ones aren't child rapists, R66, nor would they chased down and try to kill a child, you moron.

by Anonymousreply 71November 15, 2021 5:41 PM

R71 HE DID NOT KNOW WHETHER THEY WERE CHILD RAPISTS OR NOT. Please, stop with this terrible logical fallacy of an argument.

by Anonymousreply 72November 15, 2021 5:42 PM

R65 is everything that is wrong with our country -- his willingness to express opinion as fact, his willingness to ignore actual fact, and his willingness to lie about his identity.

by Anonymousreply 73November 15, 2021 5:42 PM

He was not a vigilante. He was there to protect property and help prople. There is not one shrewd of evidence that he went there with the intention of killing people. Not one shred. He only shot when they were going to kill him.

We all know that if Rosenbaum and his crew had succeeded in killing Kyle all of you people would be singing a different tune and this shit wouldn’t be headline news.

by Anonymousreply 74November 15, 2021 5:42 PM

R67 That obese 4chan/parler using fat fuck thinks anyone cares for their fake propaganda.

by Anonymousreply 75November 15, 2021 5:42 PM

The fact still remains, R68 and R72, that they were chasing him down and assaulted him. It was caught on camera.

by Anonymousreply 76November 15, 2021 5:43 PM

So I FINALLY dug into this case that all of yall, and the country is talking about. I've managed to avoid it for over a year. My take-aways, not that anybody asked, are this:

#1 They were ALL assholes. All of them. Several white dude bros protesting the police shooting were out there with guns, not just that little 17 year old shit-ass. #2 From one video, it does appear clear that Rittenhouse was being surrounded (attacked?) by at least three people, one brandishing a semi-automatic handgun. #3 Wisconsin is an "open carry" state, allowing people to walk around with guns, (but not minors.) #4 Rittenhouse was carrying a gun illegally and should be held and convicted on those charges specifically, regardless of the shootings. #5 It's plausible, even likely Rittenhouse was indeed in fear for his life. But he clearly had no qualms about using his semi-automatic rifle. #6 Given at least one video I've seen, it would be entirely within the scope of the law that he be exonerated for using deadly force, as there was a clear case to make for him being in mortal fear by being, at one point, flanked/charged by three men, at least one, if not two, brandishing semi-automatic handguns.

The law is complicated folks. This kid is morally, reprehensibly wrong. And hopefully his mother, who seems thirsty for media attention, will be the next person to face trial for her treatment of a juvenile/child in allowing him to be out at night with a semi-automatic gun.

However, there were others with guns. At least two men charged him with guns. One is alive, the hot dude-bro that got shot in the arm and who took the stand. But he too had a gun. An argument can be made as to why he isn't facing criminal prosecution for threatening a minor with deadly force. Because again, the law is complex and often fucked up. One dead man didn't have a gun, but attacked Rittenhouse, allegedly trying to get the gun away from him. He was holding his skateboard in one hand. But he did charge at the guy without direct provocation, (there are no claims Rittenhouse aimed his gun at or threatened Mr. Huber or his girlfriend.). Huber was attempting to be a hero and I'm not sure that was needed. It certainly wasn't smart.

The other dead man did not appear to have a gun, but by all account charged Rittenhouse and threw something at him. I'm not necessarily buying CNN's bullshit about it "just being a plastic bag". THAT incident seems to be mostly in question.

Rosenbaum, the man who Rittenhouse shot first, had just been let out of prison earlier that day, (or was it a mental hospital?). Not that it should matter in his death, but he served a decade in prison for molestation of a minor. He had mental illness, bipolar disorder. It isn't unreasonable, given his mental and criminal past, to assume Rosenbaum would/could have threatened Rittenhouse to the point of Rittenhouse being in fear for his life.

Legally, I expect Rittenhouse to be found not guilty of the charges. There's plenty of evidence on both sides. It's all very ugly, Rittenhouse is in no way innocent. And the prosecutors should be fired and their license to practice law removed, because they aimed way too high and they clearly knew they did. They should have gone for another charge that carried jail time.

It's all very sad. The people out rioting didn't help matters. It was no "peaceful protest". It was a bunch of white trash assholes, most of them itching for a reason to protest and hijacking the local Black Lives Matter movement with their wilding. The rest were white trash, paramilitary wannabe losers. They weren't looking to "defend property", they were looking for conflict.

This is why you can't have nice things when you involve guns. They should all be cancelled and locked-up like animals.

by Anonymousreply 77November 15, 2021 5:43 PM

...And what about the OTHER people that he killed, you fucking doomsday preppers.

by Anonymousreply 78November 15, 2021 5:44 PM

"Black" Millennial has spoken. The truth is now out.

Saint Kyle, like Mother Teresa, was actually there to help. And white supremacy doesn't exist.

by Anonymousreply 79November 15, 2021 5:44 PM

R79 I think you mean "Black Millennial." Cause I ain't buying it,

by Anonymousreply 80November 15, 2021 5:46 PM

Guys, the troll you're arguing with isn't even familiar with the case, and his English is sketchy. He has mentioned "the three men he killed" when there were only two, and keeps calling one victim "a child rapists," plural. He uses both American and English/Canadian spellings interchangeably. I think his translation software is cheap.

by Anonymousreply 81November 15, 2021 5:46 PM

He was SHOT AT FIRST. Period !!!

by Anonymousreply 82November 15, 2021 5:47 PM

To the idiots who keep parroting that Rittenhouse didn't know Rosenbaum was a child rapist: what difference does it make? They still chased after him and assaulted him. It was self defense. The whole thing was caught on camera.

Why is that so hard for you to understand?

by Anonymousreply 83November 15, 2021 5:47 PM

Kill yourself fat magat cunt.

by Anonymousreply 84November 15, 2021 5:47 PM

“ One is alive, the hot dude-bro that got shot in the arm and who took the stand. But he too had a gun. An argument can be made as to why he isn't facing criminal prosecution for”

We all know why he wasn’t charged and won’t be….

by Anonymousreply 85November 15, 2021 5:47 PM

R84, Not everyone is on the extreme ends of the political spectrum like you are, hon.

by Anonymousreply 86November 15, 2021 5:48 PM

Take your meds, R84. No normal person is this upset over the justified killings of a child rapist, a wife beater and a violent criminal.

by Anonymousreply 87November 15, 2021 5:49 PM

R83 Because saying that shooting them was OK for that reason is a godawful argument and a blatant logical fallacy. As far as I know we have courts of law to decide these questions. Vigilantes, especially those who kill, freak the fuck out of me and have no place in a developed society.

by Anonymousreply 88November 15, 2021 5:49 PM

[quote] The mainstream Leftist media is determined to convince you that the biggest threat to America in 2021 is white supremacy. I call bullshit.

Actually the Trump appointed FBI director has repeated stated that white nationalist domestic terrorism is this nations largest threat because it is.

[quote] The reason why Dems are going to lose majorly in 2022 and 2024 (including the Presidency) is because they’ve tried, unsuccessfully, to make everything about race and vilify all white people as racist and all black people as victims. Many people, including myself and other blacks have had enough.

"The reason why" Repubs lost the presidency and both houses of Congress in 2020 is because the Republican Party is a white nationalist Trump cult who have nothing to offer average Americans but divisive rhetoric and polices that only benefit the rich. Which is why 40% of whites, 70% of Hispanics, 70% of Asians and 90% of black voters will never support the Republican Party.

[quote] He was not a vigilante.

[quote] a member of a self-appointed group of citizens who undertake law enforcement in their community without legal authority

Which law enforcement agency employed this 17 yr old and gave him an unlicensed gun? He is the very definition of vigilante.

by Anonymousreply 89November 15, 2021 5:51 PM

They chased him down and attacked him, R88, it was caught on camera.

Jesus fucking wept..

by Anonymousreply 90November 15, 2021 5:51 PM

[quote] The three men he killed were attacking him. They chased him down. He tried fleeing. This was all caught on film. It was self defence.

He was being chased because he shot a man in the head and was trying to escape.

by Anonymousreply 91November 15, 2021 5:52 PM

He’s just a white trash child with a terrible mother and no father. He’s a victim here; maybe he’ll learn from all of this mess and be better. I say let him go. Anyone that was there at the riots, and knowingly participated, deserves any injury or death that occurred.

by Anonymousreply 92November 15, 2021 5:53 PM

R87 Sure magat whale, i.e kys

by Anonymousreply 93November 15, 2021 5:54 PM

Why's it so hard for YOU to understand that they probably felt threatened that a Gollum-looking mother fucker with an assault rifle was walking around like he owned the place. and after he shot the first guy, the others wanted to get the gun out of his hands. Stop trying to make it like Baby Huey was just minding his own business with AN ASSAULT rifle and randomly got jumped by three people.

R90 Yeah, Jesus is weeping alright because the world is being taken over by loons and Jethros

by Anonymousreply 94November 15, 2021 5:54 PM

Idiot is was a protest. Which is legal and most protesters committed no crime. Do you also believe that gay protesters should be injured or killed?

When a vigilante shooter (emboldened by this case) guns you or your loved ones down. Hopefully they will get off because obviously they will also be the real victim.

by Anonymousreply 95November 15, 2021 5:57 PM

Can we all at least agree to F&F R84 / R93? That shit's uncalled for. Please F&F the rabid, violent troll who doesn't know how to maintain herself during a discussion and instead tells people to kill themselves.

by Anonymousreply 96November 15, 2021 5:57 PM

So many talking points have been debunked yet the irrational msm brainwashed loons keep repeating them

Kyle was driven by his mom -debunked

Kyle crossed state lines with an ar-15-debunked

Rosenbaum and the two others were peacefully protesting-debunked

Some people here really like “alternative facts” don’t they?

by Anonymousreply 97November 15, 2021 5:58 PM

You sort of have to wonder if all of the right wing lunatics defending Rittenhouse are actually American. Some of them don’t seem to understand English very well. Nor did they seem to understand the law.

R77 makes the best case for acquittal from an actual American legal viewpoint.

Still…

by Anonymousreply 98November 15, 2021 5:59 PM

Took a glance at this video and if I'm seeing it right, the State is correct when they say Rittenhouse was pointing a gun at someone else before he shot at Rosenbaum. It looks like that's why Rosenbaum threw his bag at him, to stop him from shooting over toward the group of people at the bottom of the screen.

I think the judge is a racist cracker. He is blatantly biased. I think the plan is to incite violence to start the 2nd Civil War. It just may happen.

R96 - I actually quite enjoyed the quote “kill yourself fat magat cunt.” So no, I won’t F & F him. I may not agree with him, but those are the kinds of posts I come here for.

by Anonymousreply 101November 15, 2021 6:01 PM

Something I've noticed both on here and Twitter is that a lot of the KR supporters are saying it's "self defence," which isn't the American spelling of the word.

by Anonymousreply 102November 15, 2021 6:03 PM

R81 I was thinking that too. The first time that poster wrote 'a child rapists' I thought okay, that might be a typo. But he/she did it again. Seems likely that poster is a Russian troll using this to be divisive.

Is he a cop? Military? National Guard? NO, NO, and NO.

He is a fucking loser MAGAT piece of shit TWERP who went there to start trouble.

He had no authority, and no right to enforce, "protect," or "help people." He probably didn't even have a fucking job at the time!

[quote]No normal person is this upset over the justified killings of a child rapist, a wife beater and a violent criminal.

No but normal people are justifiably upset by average Americans taking the law into their own hands, especially in a country drowning in guns. That in the process Rittenhouse murdered some undesireable people is not a mitigating factor. Equal under the law, even if unequal in the eyes of society. Your protection from vigilantes is not subject to the People's Choice standard.

Rittenhouse was a vigilante. His defenders admit it: "he went there to protect..." He had no standing to do so.

vigilante

noun a member of a vigilance committee.

any person who takes the law into his or her own hands, as by avenging a crime.

adjective

done violently and summarily, without recourse to lawful procedures: vigilante justice.

R136, The cops were under strict orders to stand down. Personally I think the small business owners should have just chalked the loss of their livelihoods to the cost of racial justice but that’s just not realistic. People were going to fight back.

by Anonymousreply 137November 15, 2021 6:50 PM

If the fat faced fool had kept his 17 year old ass at home where he belonged, instead of getting his hands on an illegal gun, he wouldn't be going through all this. His parents must be absolute trash for him to get that far into the process and them not know what he was up to, or they did and went right along with it. Frankly he and his mother both look retarded. He wasn't born with all the hatred he has in him, he learned it from someone. And most likely he learned it from his own parents.

But, as I said before. Even if he gets off on this case he will suffer. His life after this is not going to be a bed of roses by any means. He'll be treated as a pariah by many people, and since he is so recognizable moving to another city probably won't help him.

by Anonymousreply 138November 15, 2021 6:51 PM

R134 I am confused. Were they chasing him BECAUSE he had already shot someone or shot at someone?

And considering the number of mass shootings committed by men/boys who look just like Ritthenhouse, I can see how a group of people would try and wrestle a gun from someone like that.

by Anonymousreply 139November 15, 2021 6:51 PM

R138, I'm not unconvinced he won't get elected to Congress, regretfully.

by Anonymousreply 147November 15, 2021 7:06 PM

[quote] I am confused. Were they chasing him BECAUSE he had already shot someone or shot at someone?

r139, no: Rittenhouse was initially pursued (without provocation by Rittenhouse) by a group that included Kenosha resident Joseph Rosenbaum. Racine resident Joshua Ziminski fired a shot into the air, after which Rittenhouse turned towards Rosenbaum. According to a witness, an unarmed Rosenbaum then lunged at Rittenhouse and attempted to take his rifle. Rittenhouse fired four times at Rosenbaum, hitting his groin, hand, thigh, head, and back; with a perforated heart, aorta, pulmonary artery and right lung, Rosenbaum died shortly afterwards.

Rittenhouse then fled the scene to a second location while being followed by a crowd of around a dozen people. He tripped and fell to the ground, then fired twice at an unidentified man who jump-kicked him. Others in the crowd approached Rittenhouse while he was still on the ground, and Silver Lake resident Anthony M. Huber struck Rittenhouse in the shoulder with a skateboard and struggled for control of the rifle. Rittenhouse fired at Huber once, fatally shooting him in the chest. West Allis resident Gaige Grosskreutz approached Rittenhouse while pointing a handgun at him; Rittenhouse shot Grosskreutz once in the right arm, severing his biceps muscle.

by Anonymousreply 148November 15, 2021 7:11 PM

So he is in a large crowd with a semi automatic weapon and fires it, hitting someone. People chase him down to try and stop him from shooting anyone else, and he in turns shoots them?

There were other semi automatic weapons there, but he is the ONLY one who fires his at someone. People chase him down to stop him from hurting someone else and they in turn get killed by him?

So he killed two people who were trying to stop him from shooting other people?

So in the future mass shooters can use self defense as a reason they shot people trying to stop them?

I am so confused...

Thanks r164 and r165. It must have been a premature alert.

by Anonymousreply 166November 15, 2021 8:09 PM

The fact is, Rittenhouse threatened his chasers first by brandishing an AR-15 rifle towards and against them.

The pursuers were acting in self-defense against a self-appointed vigilante with no legal authority to police somebody else's premises or property. Rittenhouse was absolutely the aggressor and he WANTED to kill people, so he baited and threatened them with his unauthorized machine gun first.

This is how riots start. When people ignore who initiated the threats, provoked the violence and broke the law.

Brandishing a weapon is NOT legal "open carry" of a gun or protected by the Second Amendment.

It is also not legal for a person under age 18 to "open carry" firearms in Wisconsin.

Rittenhouse is criminal AF.

[quote]The facts are that he shot at people who were chasing him and threatening him, and beating him with a skateboard. . He wasn’t handing out the “death penalty” he was defending his life. Those are the facts.

The facts are, as shown in court video today, is that Rittenhouse aimed his weapon at Rosenbaum without provocation. Rosenbaum then chased Rittenhouse armed with a plastic bag. Rittenhouse shot Rosenbaum once stopping him. He then fired three more times, including the kill shot after Rosenbaum was no longer a threat.

Rittenhouse was now an active shooter who the next two people tried to stop...one with a skateboard. While the 3rd guy had a gun, it was never aimed at Rittenhouse until Rittenhouse began to take aim first.

To those of you who continue to insist I’m not black - what has you so convinced? Is it because I am articulate and can string a sentence together? Or perhaps because I don’t subscribe to the media-driven narrative that 2021 America is a hot bed of white supremacy? Either way, it is YOU R65, R79, and R80 who are the true racist fucks, to assume that EVERY black person adheres to the same opinions, can all recall identical experiences of victimhood, and believe in the same crazy Leftist politics as you do.

The entire BLM/leftist-driven narrative about racist white cops killing innocent black people is NOT rooted in reality. The media has created this entire situation, and now has the power to incite violence and destruction by reporting outright lies in both this case and the Floyd case. It is reprehensible.

I don't want to sound like an NRA shill, but if anyone else had a gun and shot him dead after he shot and killed the first one, it would've been a close and shut case of someone killing Rittenhouse in self-defense after he opened fire and shot an unarmed man.

by Anonymousreply 194November 15, 2021 10:04 PM

The only reason people still give a shit about this trial is because there are enough Americans who STILL believe that Rittenhouse murdered black people.

by Anonymousreply 195November 15, 2021 10:05 PM

Any "lesson" learned by acquitting Kyle Rittenhouse would be that vigilantism, terrorism, brandishing assault rifles at crowds and mass murder is now legal in America.

Bring on THE PURGE and its heroic instigator, Kyle "Sociopath" Rittenhouse!

The lesson of Rittenhouse is if you don't enforce the law and allow criminals to injure people and destroy cities, everyday citizens will step up to fill the vacuum. It also shows that people uniting people against a real or imagined enemy is far more effective than rallying for social justice.

[quote] Boris the Nazi Incel is still pushing the narrative that SUMMARY EXECUTION is the punishment that fits the crime for burning a Port-a-Potty or stealing a Beats headset?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that people who excuse pedophilia will also excuse violent riots in which peaceful protestors show up with weapons.

by Anonymousreply 206November 15, 2021 10:24 PM

The protesters were defending themselves first from Kyle Rittenhouse, the vigilante who made an armed pilgrimage to Kenosha to threaten and kill protests he doesn't like first, brandish assault rifles illegally at people he doesn't know first and using property he doesn't own as an excuse.

Just remember when Republican voters cry "liberty" they're really after anarchy and slaughtering people they don't like.

by Anonymousreply 207November 15, 2021 10:27 PM

Geez, block a couple of extremists from both sides and this thread gets VERY short.

Frankly, from my little knowledge of the case, Kenosha sounds like it was full of extremists from both sides, all itching for a fight on that night.

Too bad the shooting of Blake wasn't even a righteous cause. There have been some horrible unjustified police shootings, but Blake's wasn't. (Don't trust me on this, look at the "Shooting of Jacob Blake" Wikipedia page. Snopes has a good outline of the Rittenhouse case, for those who don't want to read a bunch of news articles.

R219, this has already been discussed and you can see explanation why these 2 things are different and the earlier event is not relevant to the situation in the case.

The fires and riot going on in Kenosha are directly relevant to the case.

it's too long to teach you the law of evidence. Go to law school and practice criminal law if you really want to understand these things. Otherwise I don't think you' really want to know how evidence works and what makes a fair trial. You just want to bitch about something.

The killed victims wanted nothing from Rittenhouse. It was Rittenhouse who first interloped, blocked them and threatened them by brandishing an illegally held firearm.

The lesson is, if you don't want to get attacked, don't provoke an encounter with people who are none of your business and first brandish an assault rifle at them, because they will take vigilantes down in self-defense.

by Anonymousreply 228November 15, 2021 11:34 PM

by Anonymousreply 234November 15, 2021 11:44 PM

Because Rittenhouse FIRST began stalking the rioters and trying to interfere with what they were doing without any legal authority, [R223].

They were setting fires and Rittenhouse put one out. Do you need legal authority to put out a fire with a fire extinguisher?

The killed victims wanted nothing from Rittenhouse. It was Rittenhouse who first interloped, blocked them and threatened them by brandishing an illegally held firearm.

Many of the people at the riot....protest...had guns. If it was an illegal firearm why were the gun charges dropped?

The lesson is, if you don't want to get attacked, don't provoke an encounter with people who are none of your business and first brandish an assault rifle at them, because they will take vigilantes down in self-defense.

Rittenhouse shouldn't have been there but this began when he was being chased. If you look at the video many people on both sides were brandishing guns and rifles. I think the lesson is don't chase scared teenagers with guns and then try to grab their gun. I do feel bad for victim 2 because he thought he was stopping an active shooter. But since KR was running towaards the police, he should have let the situation play out.

A technicality over the length of the gun.

Justice was not served by the dismissal. The legal spirit was ignored for a gun length technicality and another law was ignored entirely.

This will end in more innocent people's tears.

by Anonymousreply 240November 15, 2021 11:50 PM

Only Deplorable Republicans and Rittenhouse's defense lawyers want everyone to think "this began when he was being chased," r235.

The complete chain of events shows Rittenhouse interloping, threatening, brandishing an assault rifle, declaring his murderous intentions 15 days before the shoot and delighting in punching a teenage girl from behind multiple times.

by Anonymousreply 241November 15, 2021 11:54 PM

KR was running to the police to disguise his crimes and play the victim.

He was also running to the police because he was outnumbered by dozens of witnesses acting in self defense who saw an active shooter start all of this.

[quote] Because Rittenhouse FIRST began stalking the rioters

Enough with these lies. The evidence is the opposite.

Rosenbaum and the Zaminskys (husband and wife both armed with guns) were stalking Rittenhouse. It was Zaminsky who fired first in the lot while Rosenbaum was chasing Rittenhouse in the lot and lunged to grab his gun.

It was Rosenbaum who threatened to kill Rittenhouse if he got him alone. A reasonable person would believe Rosenbaum wanted to kill him when Rosenbaum chased Rittenhouse through a parking lot and lunged for his gun.

Personally I think the Zaminkskys egged Rosenbaum on. There is evidence that Rosenbaum and the Zaminkys were hanging out together that night and a witness testified it seemed like Zaminsky was controlling Rosenbaum (who was mentally ill, acting bizarre and violent and unlikely medicated properly).

[quote] and trying to interfere with what they were doing without any legal authority, [R223].

LMAO!!!! You are such a fucking idiot. You cannot be that stupid. Interfering with them setting fires and moving those fires near a gas station as well as near the Car Source Rittenhouse and others were hired to protect against arsonists and rioters. Fire extinguishers rule! They had every legal authority to extinguish a fire and move the means of fire away from the arsonists - Rosenbaum and Zaminsky.

[quote] The killed victims wanted nothing from Rittenhouse. It was Rittenhouse who first interloped, blocked them and threatened them by brandishing an illegally held firearm.

Nothing you wrote is the truth. So are you deliberately making shit up or are you just addle-brained? Rittenhouse never brandished a weapon except in the specific instances of self-defense. Rittenhouse did not illegally hold the gun. Grosskreutz did though - his gun was illegally held. When Rosenbaum grabbed at Rittenhouse's gun that was also illegally holding.

The trolls are hilarious and keep proving how stupid or captured they are. They would have been very comfortable in Jonestown.

According to you, it’s just simply impossible for a lowly n*g to not be a white-hating victim. 🙄

It is YOU and condescending Leftist racists like you, who keep insisting that a black person can’t possibly have a conflicting opinion are exactly the reason why Trump received more black votes than any Republican presidential candidate in recent history.

People like you make me fucking sick.

r270 Recourse: I don't think that means....what you think it means.

by Anonymousreply 271November 16, 2021 6:11 AM

R262, if Rittenhouse is a white supremacist, so what? Is he on trial because he flashed a white power sign? Does being a white supremacist mean due process should be thrown out in this case and that he should be convicted even though the evidence clearly suggests he was acting in self defense?

Of course, white supremacy is indefensible, but the facts and circumstances surrounding this case DO NOT support the narrative that white supremacy or more appropriately, anti-black sentiments, had anything to do with what transpired. Exactly the same as the George Floyd case.

Are some Republicans racist? Absolutely they are. But Democrats are too, and that’s quite apparent by the condescending sentiments directed at me in this thread and others where I’ve put forth a contrarian point of view based on my own carefully fact-based conclusions.

by Anonymousreply 272November 16, 2021 6:24 AM

Why is Mama Shrekenhouse coming for Joe Biden if precious Kyle parties with the Proud Boys and throws up white supremacist hand signals?

by Anonymousreply 273November 16, 2021 6:42 AM

r272 His ideological motivations are very important - and ARE important in our judicial system. Research hate crime laws. Your point of view is hardly contrarian, this country is full of angry whackjobs who think driving around with an AR-15 to "protect gas stations" and pretend to be "medics" in cosplay outfits is completely normal.

I don't care what happens in court. Look at the OJ trial, our entire judicial system is fucked. Rittenhouse is just a garbage human being, even if he is technically "not guilty". The real punishment - in my opinion - is being a Kyle Rittenhouse.

Like fat orange Trump, my main problem with these people is they are stupid, and look like shit, super corny people. He is guilty of being a fat retard, no matter what happens in court.

by Anonymousreply 274November 16, 2021 6:46 AM

Yes, motive is always important in court cases. I don't know why people think it's irrelevant. Again, how strange that he thought it a good idea to insert himself in the middle of all that when he had nothing to do with it and wasn't law enforcement, and he was the only person who shot three people, killing two when even law enforcement didn't. Rioting/protesting doesn't carry the death penalty. His actions were grossly inappropriate.

I just think that this isn't a good idea to set as a precedent because if he is let off, it could be a good argument for people to go out with a big gun looking for trouble and provoking people into 'attacking' them so that they can shoot them.

You're not the first and will not be the last intellectually dishonest "black" on Earth.

That crappy Lee Greenwood song has been a second national anthem for flyovers for 3 decades. Trying to make it all about Trump just shows you need to get out more and outside your bubble.

The demonization of people based on dubious facts and links leads to many mistaken assumptions. People are so easily led. But hey we are a gossip site making huge leaps from meager scraps all the time.

by Anonymousreply 287November 16, 2021 12:40 PM

If you go to Lipstick Alley there are some black posters defending Rittenhouse. What is the obsession that all people of the same race have to think alike. Do all white people think alike? Do all Hispanics?

by Anonymousreply 288November 16, 2021 12:43 PM

Trayvon Martin was bashing someone’s skull into the ground. Zimmerman had every right to defend himself. You can’t Jill someone for being an asshole, this includes going up to people asking them what they’re doing in the neighborhood. The Left continues to dig themselves into a bigger and bigger hole with this shit. They made every excuse imaginable for the riots including “Those stores have insurance.” No one is buying this shit anymore. This is why idiots like Trump can get elected.

by Anonymousreply 289November 16, 2021 12:50 PM

Americans are thrilled that this kid killed two thugs that were part of burning down cities because they didn’t get their way culture.

by Anonymousreply 290November 16, 2021 12:52 PM

A reason why people talk about the background of the people who were shot is that there are anti-Rittenhouse people who say that even though the evidence proves Rittenhouse acted in self-defense, Rittenhouse should be found guilty anyway because he’s a bad person. So the reaction is that if people want to go there, it’s clear that the lowlifes who were shot were far worse than Rittenhouse.

by Anonymousreply 291November 16, 2021 1:21 PM

R288, not all of the posters on Lipstick Alley are black. It's another essentially anonymous forum, so it gets a lot of right-wing trolls, too.

by Anonymousreply 293November 16, 2021 1:31 PM

R289 And why was Martin bashing Zimmerman's head into the ground? Was he not defending himself from a self-deputized lunatic with a gun? You and your ilk are all about people defending themselves WITHOUT acknowledging the cause.

How convenient.

by Anonymousreply 294November 16, 2021 1:34 PM

It's nice to know that a gun is actually an interstate killing pass in law

by Anonymousreply 295November 16, 2021 1:36 PM

R291 EXCEPT none of those people had killed anyone. Rittenhouse SHOULD be found guilty because IF he had followed THE LAW, two people would still be alive. I'm not talking about first degree, but he should serve SOME time. And that cunt mother of his should also be penalized.

by Anonymousreply 296November 16, 2021 1:42 PM

r296, the two people would be alive if they hadn’t attacked Rittenhouse. Since Rittenhouse acted in self-defense to protect himself, the killing is legally justified.

by Anonymousreply 297November 16, 2021 2:31 PM

You just know this jury is going to reach a verdict before lunch time.

by Anonymousreply 298November 16, 2021 2:32 PM

Can’t understand why this case is so polarizing. It was a shooting during a riot, not during the earlier lawful protest. People were burning shit, destroying businesses, many carrying guns. It was a free-for-all. It's fun to riot.

The real community protestors were gone. Rittenhouse's victims were not even protestors.

But now it’s clear. All progressive, correct-thinking people gave the 2020 riots a pass. Black lives matter, police are all thugs, therefore the nighttime riots that grew out of some protests should get a pass. Rittenhouse was supposed to give the riots a pass too.

And because Rittenhouse is not a correct-thinking person, and is a redneck, then he is guilty. Otherwise, why all the passion around the case?

The charges involved complicated facts. All the defense case has to do is raise a reasonable doubt under the law governing self-defense.

(Here comes the “Nazi, right-wing talking-points” troll in 3…2…1…)

by Anonymousreply 301November 16, 2021 2:46 PM

"And because Rittenhouse is not a correct-thinking person, and is a redneck, then he is guilty. "

no, he's guilty because he shot and killed two unarmed people with a military-grade illegally purchased gun.

by Anonymousreply 302November 16, 2021 2:47 PM

The gun wasn't illegally purchases. He didn't cross state lines with it. His mother didn't drive him to the protests. He was being chased by someone who grabbed his gun. Why is everyone so invested in incorrect facts. I'm sure he's a terrible human being but the case is not about that.

by Anonymousreply 303November 16, 2021 2:51 PM

R245 Jump off a ledge obese magat cunt.

by Anonymousreply 304November 16, 2021 2:54 PM

I think he definitely overreacted and shot the first guy. The second one who hit him with the skateboard, you might have me on self-defense, and the third guy is a draw. They both had guns, although I don't know why he wasn't a hero to the 2a crowd, since he was literally a "good guy with a gun" who was running toward what he believed to be an active shooter. My gun loving relatives relish the thought of being in that position.

That being said, I think it WAS an illegal gun in spirit, but I think because it technically was his friends gun and never crossed state lines, he skated on that one just purely by accident.

All things considered, I'm not sure I want to live in a country where you can bring a gun to a protest, with the obvious desire to use it (even if you maintain you didn't), and then be considered the victim when it causes you to shoot unarmed people, even if they were @ssholes.

by Anonymousreply 305November 16, 2021 2:58 PM

by Anonymousreply 307November 16, 2021 3:24 PM

[quote] The media thinks Trayvon was right to physically attack George Zimmerman for asking him why he’s in his neighborhodod

Are you on crack? They did exactly the opposite and came to the riots they caused. Zimmerman was within his right. You are not allowed to put your hands on someone, period, let alone start pounding their skulls into the ground. Zimmerman was an asshole, but that’s life. There’s no law against going up up someone and questioning them. You can’t in turn start beating them up. The moment you do that you’re asking for trouble snd that includes someone using a gun to get you to stop physically attacking them. This is the kind of shit that makes Americans vote conservative. The media pulled this same shit during the OJ trials. They want ratings do they push the narrative that will get them future stories, ie, rioting after trial coverage.

[quote] In this case, he was cosplaying an EMT. He claimed to be a licensed EMT.

Who are you talking about? Rittenhouse never claimed to be a licensed EMT.

The one overclaiming for himself was Grosskreutz. Grosskreutz was not a licensed EMT anywhere in the country. He also tried to oversell his "ambulance" experience by saying he rode an ambulance for a year. What he omitted was that his "ambulance" experience was working for a private medical ambulance service that gave rides to medical appointments to seniors.

Plenty of people on both sides of these demonstrations/riots were offering basic first aid assistance to people. They were labeling themselves all kinds of technically incorrect titles - people are almost never accurate with these labels. Yes it may be cosplay but it doesn't tell you anything about these people except maybe they all wanted to offer some help. Rittenhouse did, in fact, render aid to someone earlier - someone who sprained their ankle IIRC.

This is an irrelevant matter.

by Anonymousreply 346November 16, 2021 5:23 PM

And the media which lies and sensationalizes racial stories for ratings, local police who failed in their mission to protect their citizens, and the rioters themselves are all culpable in one way or another.

by Anonymousreply 347November 16, 2021 5:26 PM

Boris @ r299 can ignore Rittenhouse's threats, intimidation, physical obstruction, illegal assault rifle brandishing, trespassing and active shooter status that provoked Rosenbaum, Huber and Grosskreutz to defend themselves as many times as Boris wants.

You can repeat the lie that Rittenhouse's premeditated, interstate pilgrimage to other people's business after declaring his intentions to kill shoplifters was just "self defense" all you like.

America won't keep lying and ignoring this or legalize vigilanteism. Neither r299 nor Kyle Rittenhouse have the right to police anything they don't own or wave guns in other people's faces; much less hand out death sentences for crimes other citizens have already paid for through due process in the justice system.

If some biased judge in Wisconsin tampers with justice, r299 isn't going to get all judges to do so and endow him with police, judge and jury authority.

If they do so, there's going to be a Purge and the conservative country dumbfucks WILL LOSE.

You really shouldn't be inciting the civil war you want so desperately, r299. The Deplorable Rittenhouse side of America is a fringe minority and you can't win. Republicans in government are overrepresented thanks to a rigged electoral college, artificial Senate numbers and gerrymandered House districts.

Real Republican voters make up just 25 percent of the U.S. population and plenty of them aren't stupid enough to throw themselves into terrorist insurrections and vigilante justice.

Therefore, right-wingers WILL LOSE the civil war or Purge you think you're entitled to. Scumbags like you simply don't have the numbers to win.

So you'd better be careful what you wish for, because even the right-wing trolls and chickenshits who hide in Berlin bunkers or Tora Bora caves while the suckers do the dirty work eventually get their comeuppance. Just ask Hitler or Bin Laden.

I don't think this case is as straightforward as initially believed & I agree the prosecutor probably over-charged him, but the extent to which the judge has inserted himself in the trial is unbelievable.

by Anonymousreply 360November 16, 2021 5:44 PM

KENOSHA, WI—Moments before reading the verdict, the twelve jurors in the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse asked if the defendant would please step outside and defend the courthouse.

“We, the jury will perform our constitutional duty and declare the verdict in this case,” said one sweating juror, “But we, the jury also don’t want to die.”

“Objection, your honor, Rittenhouse does not possess an AR-15 to defend the courthouse; I have the AR-15,” said the prosecutor, swinging the weapon wildly about as onlookers nervously ducked behind benches. “Besides, protestors are heroes, people of upstanding character, and victims.”

Judge Schroeder ruled the prosecutor a doofus and allowed Rittenhouse to disarm the blubbering liar, load his weapon, and position himself defensively on the steps of the courthouse while the verdict was read.

Witnesses claim even the prosecution team was relieved to know Kyle Rittenhouse was out there protecting them.

Rittenhouse is on video telling the media the night of the shootings that he's an EMT, which he never was. It was a cover for right-wing busybody scolding, self-appointed police and execution powers, i.e. MURDER.

Rosenbaum wasn't going to get back up and keep chasing him, the immediate threat was gone. Why didn't Rittenhouse just walk or run away? Why did he stay and put three more shots into him instead?

Rosenbaum was moving while Rittenhouse was firing, so it’s not Rittenhouse’s fault for whatever position Rosenbaum was in when each of the bullets struck him. As you know, but pretend not to, there was no intermission between shots, no physical examination possible in those few seconds in which the shots were fired.

Those Capitol rioters were held to an entirely different standard. The left took control of the narrative by calling it an insurrection and yet the right didn't say anything about left wing insurgents who rioted for months. The left is better at messaging than the right.

Yet people like you still refuse to call the rioters what they actually were. Many of the Capitol rioters are still rotting in jail. There is no bail fund. Even for the ones who were ultimately charged with trespassing.

The left could have stopped the summer riots but they did nothing. Political leaders didn't enforce curfews, told police to stand down, media continued to fan the flames for ratings. Those running for president did not condemn them unlike the Capitol riot which was condemned immediately. AOC get to whine about fearing for her life despite not being in any danger.

Rosenbaum's past doesn't matter. Rittenhouse had no idea who he was shooting. He could have shot a doctor for all he knew. And let's say it was a doctor...would your reaction be any different? And, Rosenbaum was handed down a sentence and that didn't include being murdered by Rittenhouse.

Would they prepare a National Guard response if Rittenhouse was guilty or if he was convicted? So all these people complaining about vigilante justice can just shove it. If you really cared about justice, you would not be calling to defund police and allowing those people you find reprehensible to still get a fair trial.

And forgive me if I don't see the issue of abortion as important as targeting parents as domestic threats because they have a different opinion on race or gender identity, or on how their kids should be educated.

R439, that is one of WORST analyses of this case I have heard. That guy doesn't even get facts correct so he is comparing completely different circumstances and ignoring essential facts and the complete law on provocation. Sorry but he is an idiot. I guess everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame over this case. He'd have been better off doing a happy bear strip tease for those 2 minutes.

First, his description of provocation is incorrect. I don't believe there was provocation. But for argument's sake even if Rittenhouse had "provoked" Zaminksy - of course, they did not produce evidence at trial to show he did and they could have done that by putting Zaminsky on the stand to say that - you do not lose your right to self defense if you retreat from that alleged provocation - Rittenhouse on video retreated 3x from what the prosecution tries to claim was provocation.

So that kills that provocation argument.

Further, the prosecution is trying to argue transferred intent on the provocation from Zaminsky to Rosenbaum, again with no evidence to show that. First, that is a very strained legal theory to make. In addition to the problem with the legal theory, there is no evidence of any kind that Rosenbaum was aware of the alleged act of provocation by Rittenhouse.

You know, you need evidence of things. Not just some speculation, 'well it could have happened that way.' That is not evidence.

But I appreciate the opportunity to bust another lazily done and incorrect legal analysis.

Are the facts really so hard to get correct? This case is over a year old. What os wrong with these people, especially so called journalists.

r462, it’s not relevant to the fact that Rittenhouse had to use deadly force in self-defense to protect himself from Rosenbaum. That’s not the question. The question is why are people supporting Rosenbaum, the pedophile, over the kid who almost became the next of Rosenbaum’s child victims. It’s twisted that in a fight between Rittenhouse and Rosenbaum, the pedophile, that some people would champion Rosenbaum.

by Anonymousreply 464November 17, 2021 12:05 PM

Kyle Rittenhouse prosecutors HELD BACK high-def drone footage of Kenosha shootings from defense and gave them low quality video - sparking them to file mistrial motion that could see teen walk free

Assistant District Attorney Thomas Binger initially shared low quality drone footage from the night of the shooting with the defense

The defense claims Binger only shared the high-definition footage after evidence had closed on Saturday

According to a motion filed today by the defense, 'The problem is the prosecution gave the defense a compressed version of the video'

'What that means is the video provided to the defense was not as clear as the video kept by the state,' the motion states

Lawyers for Rittenhouse filed their motion for mistrial with prejudice based on this and several other grounds

The motion states that this larger file was not provided to the defense 'until after the trial concluded'

It reads, 'During the jury instructions conference, the defense played their version of the video for the court to review. The state indicated their version was much clearer and had their tech person come into court to have the court review their clearer video. The video is the same, the resolution of that video, however, was not.'

In fact, the state did not provide the larger file until two days before closing arguments and after the evidence had been closed.

The video footage has been at the center of this case. The idea that the state would provide lesser quality footage and then use that footage as a linchpin in their case is the very reason they requested and were granted the provocation instruction by the Court.'

Lawyers for Rittenhouse filed their motion for mistrial with prejudice based on this and several other grounds.

They had already raised the issue of 'prosecutorial misconduct' and 'over-reach' for Binger's behavior when he 'violated' Rittenhouse's constitutional right to remain silent by suggesting that he had done so that he could 'tailor' his story to fit the facts as they emerged during trial.

And for his bid to enter evidence into trial that had already been excluded by the judge. Both transgressions came the day that Rittenhouse testified and saw Judge Schroeder furiously admonish the prosecutor telling him, 'This better stop.'

Now, in the motion filed Monday, Rittenhouse's defense team has re-iterated Corey Chirafisi's contention in court that Binger's behavior was 'clearly intentional' and 'prejudicial.'

For his part Judge Schroeder did not accept Binger's insistence that he acted 'in good faith' snapping, 'I don't believe you.'

According to the defense, 'The failure to provide the same quality footage in this particular case is intentional and clearly prejudices the defendant.'

The trial had additional video that showed Rosenbaum about a foot away from Rittenhouse reaching for his gun. Rittenhouse was no threat as he was running away so Rosenbaum who was suicidal was doing a pretty insane thing.

Defense team asking for mistrial

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 481November 17, 2021 10:02 PM

The prosecution/persecution has made Rittenhouse and his mother suffer enough. It’s time for a mistrial.

by Anonymousreply 482November 17, 2021 10:08 PM

Do they need a break from reality? Because if there’s a mistrial declared it just goes through the whole thing again, before different jurors.

by Anonymousreply 483November 17, 2021 10:42 PM

Mistrial, with extreme prejudice, please.

by Anonymousreply 484November 17, 2021 10:49 PM

Mistrial is definitely possible. I can imagine a group of 12 people never agreeing on this.

by Anonymousreply 485November 17, 2021 11:10 PM

Watching this trial has made me think that, even though I’m a nice person, if forced to practice law I’d rather be a prosecutor than a defense attorney. You wouldn’t have to defend scummy people, like Rittenhouse, etc.

by Anonymousreply 486November 17, 2021 11:28 PM

The Defense attorney was discussing mistrial without prejudice- meaning it would be retried. They’re upset some drone footage turned over to them got compressed somehow and doesn’t show as much detail as the original, and the State is like, “Bitch, that piece of evidence was entered months and months ago… if your shitty computer compressed the data it’s not our fault!”

by Anonymousreply 487November 17, 2021 11:31 PM

Rittenhouse looks like a big blob of cheap mayonnaise.

by Anonymousreply 488November 17, 2021 11:32 PM

[quote] if forced to practice law I’d rather be a prosecutor than a defense attorney. You wouldn’t have to defend scummy people, like Rittenhouse, etc.

Well you chose the easier side but judging the client isn't the attorney's role. The Constitution of the United States is not just for people you like.

Amendment VI

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense

I’m gonna run into Dan Abrams Live tonight for his legal analysis.

by Anonymousreply 491November 17, 2021 11:44 PM

R486 doll, you have no idea what the typical run of criminal defendants is like for defense attorneys and public defenders. No fucking idea. At least Rittenhouse has a credible defense to offer.

Most criminal defendants are guilty (of something), even if the prosecutor overcharged, and the defense job is to get the best deal for the client possible.

The defense attorney can’t undo any of the facts — just present the best version possible and get the best result for the client that the law allows.

by Anonymousreply 492November 17, 2021 11:49 PM

I would hate to be a prosecutor and have to prosecute innocent people like Rittenhouse. Even worse, if the defendant were actually guilty, they might come after you after they get out of the hoosegow.

[quote]R489 It’s weird for the judge not to rule on a motion for a mistrial before sending the case to the jury.

by Anonymousreply 508November 18, 2021 12:04 PM

R508 I think bad for him in the sense that, if he’s looking for exoneration, it isn’t happening. This might end up with a hung jury.

by Anonymousreply 509November 18, 2021 12:31 PM

The jury could be making sure for appearances that they are exhaustively deliberating every point of the case before they do the right thing and acquit Rittenhouse.

Maybe a hung jury.

[quote] So anyone who might try to take down an escaping shooter is himself deserving of ALSO being shot by the shooter?

It’s not as complicated or grey as you might suggest. In a fight there’s an aggressor and a defender. The roles could flip during the fight depending on what happens. The jury has to decide which is which at the time of the killing and then the defender may be entitled to the protection of self-defense. So once the jury has appropriately determined that Rosenbaum was the aggressor, then it is Rittenhouse who is the one who can claim self-defense.

by Anonymousreply 520November 18, 2021 1:25 PM

I meant that for r515

by Anonymousreply 521November 18, 2021 1:25 PM

R521 / R519 / R517 / R514 Projection much?

It is a FACT that both men (Rosenbaum & Huber) were unarmed. I know it's hard to understand but...Rosenbaum & Ziminski are 2 different people.

You claimed that they were shooting at Kyle first, which is a complete lie since both men had NO GUNS.

Also, Ziminski fired a shot in the air, not at Kyle.

You're a typical right-wing liar.

by Anonymousreply 522November 18, 2021 1:39 PM

R522, I am not a right winger I just know the actual facts of the case not the talking points. Do you still believe his mom drove him there and he crossed state lines with a gun to shoot peaceful protestors? Lmao.

R525 Also it was Grosskreutz who charged at Rittenhouse when he thought Rittenhouse's gun was jammed.

I've stated FACTS. Just because you don't like those facts, doesn't make them "sound bites of opinion based mainstream media".

by Anonymousreply 528November 18, 2021 2:06 PM

[quote] It is a FACT that both men (Rosenbaum & Huber) were unarmed. I know it's hard to understand but...Rosenbaum & Ziminski are 2 different people.

You are wrong.

Once Rosenbaum put his hands on the gun or once he even started trying to get the gun from Rittenhouse he is no longer considered unarmed. A cop struggling with someone trying to get his gun would be justified in shooting that person.

Huber was armed with a skateboard which he used a number of times to hit Rittenhouse at least one of the hits was a strike to the neck and head. More people are killed by blunt objects in the US than an AR-15 style rifle.

Ziminsky and Rosenbaum had been acting in concert all evening. Along with Ziminsky's wife. Both Ziminskys were armed with guns. The video shows Rosenbaum and Ziminsky close together when Rittenhouse passed them before heading into the Car Source lot where he had been sent to guard.

Ziminski breaks off and heads toward the south part of the lot and Rosenbaum heads behind some cars toward the north part of the lot. They have effectively surrounded Rittenhouse. As Rittenhouse heads across the lot, Rosenbaum comes out from behind cars and stars to chase down Rittenhouse who is now running away from him and just as he closes in on Rittenhouse, Ziminski fires his gun on the lot. That's when Rittenhouse turns and sees Rosenbaum and retreats by running again away from Rosenbaum.

That was planned. Considering that Rosenbaum had earlier told Rittenhouse that he would kill him if he got him alone, it is reasonable to fear that Rosenbaum intend to kill Rittenhouse now that he had him alone (with his partner Ziminski firing a gun nearby) and was trying to get Rittenhouse's gun.

Further it would be reasonable to fear that Rosenbaum came into possession of one of the Ziminski's guns.

by Anonymousreply 530November 18, 2021 2:23 PM

[quote] Once Rosenbaum put his hands on the gun or once he even started trying to get the gun from Rittenhouse he is no longer considered unarmed. A cop struggling with someone trying to get his gun would be justified in shooting that person.

R530 No, you are wrong. Simply trying to wrestle a gun is not considered being armed. Such a ridiculous argument.

Armed means the weapon is in your control and ready to be used. Wrestling for a gun--the gun is not in your control nor ready to be used. In your hypo, the cop would be justified because of fear to his life, not because the perp is now armed.

And it being reasonable that Rosenbaum could've come into possession of Ziminski's gun does not change the fact that Rosenbaum was actually unarmed.

by Anonymousreply 531November 18, 2021 2:49 PM

Why did KR go there with an AR-15 in the first place?

My Old Frau guess is: To shoot people.

An AR-15 to "defend" oneself against a skateboard? Speaking of which, what would any of you "defense experts" do if you had a Black teen approach you carrying and/or pointing such a weapon at you? Might you try to defend YOURSELF with whatever you had, like a skateboard?

Or would you just let that hypothetical AR-15-carrying Black teen wade further into the crowd?

Kyle Rittenhouse wasn't there to protect property. He wasn't there to give medical aid (puh-lease).

Kyle Rittenhouse had a friend illegally buy him an assault weapon to do just that:

Assault.

by Anonymousreply 532November 18, 2021 2:49 PM

[quote]r530 A cop struggling with someone trying to get his gun would be justified in shooting that person.

So now the underage teen has the authority of a police officer?

by Anonymousreply 533November 18, 2021 3:40 PM

He doesn’t need the authority of a police officer if someone is actively trying to take his gun. Civilians have the same rights in that case.

by Anonymousreply 534November 18, 2021 3:46 PM

Even after they’ve already shot someone in a crowd?

by Anonymousreply 538November 18, 2021 4:07 PM

Let's just be frank here. There are large factions of people who would have enjoyed watching Rosenbaum kill Rittenhouse because they find a MAGA Trump supporter more distasteful than a pedophile.

by Anonymousreply 539November 18, 2021 4:12 PM

[quote] Why did KR go there with an AR-15 in the first place?

I know that’s mystifying and even triggering to a portion of the country. To those people it’s incredible to see a person who isn’t a police officer have a gun, and in plain sight. Also, it’s incomprehensible to those people why anyone would have a gun, especially a rifle. I don’t have a gun and never would, but I understand why people have them. I think people who don’t understand never will, and it’s best just to let those people know that it’s not unusual for people to own and carry guns. It is what it is.

by Anonymousreply 540November 18, 2021 4:32 PM

I hope this all ends soon and whatever the verdict is Rittenhouse disappears. It probably wont happen, but I'm sick and tired of hearing about it.

by Anonymousreply 541November 18, 2021 4:36 PM

The ones who annoy me are the ones who ask what Rittenhouse was doing there and not asking the same thing of the rioters. The ones who truly make me sick are the ones who say they were peaceful protestors or seeking racial justice.

by Anonymousreply 542November 18, 2021 4:36 PM

by Anonymousreply 560November 19, 2021 3:53 AM

For there to be justice, yes, the judge would have to declare a mistrial if the prosecution somehow succeeded in tricking the jury into voting guilty.

I'm certain the jurors wish the judge would declare a mistrial. Not many would want to take the heat for acquitting him.

by Anonymousreply 568November 19, 2021 1:54 PM

r567, yes, not mistrial, so what’s the correct term for when a judge has to reverse a conviction because no reasonable jury would find the defendant guilty, or the term for when a judge has to vacate the decision of the jury and grant a motion for a new trial because of misconduct by the prosecution? That’s what we would have to look at if the jury is tricked into wrongly finding Rittenhouse guilty, right?

by Anonymousreply 569November 19, 2021 2:07 PM

R540, You are disingenuous, or else in need of reading comprehension.

I didn't ask WHy KR owned a gun, carried a gun, or even pointed a gun.

I asked, and rhetorically BTW, WHY Master Rittenhouse WENT TO KENOSHA with said assault weapon.

It wasn't to show off his ownership rights (which, when his friend was his Designated Buyer, were non-existent by law for his 17-year-old ass).

by Anonymousreply 570November 19, 2021 2:11 PM

[quote] I asked, and rhetorically BTW, WHY Master Rittenhouse WENT TO KENOSHA with said assault weapon.

That’s an easy one, and one you would know the answer for if you watched the trial or read about what was happening in it. Rittenhouse didn’t go to Kenosha with the rifle. The rifle was already in Kenosha at the house of Dominick Black. Also, Rittenhouse was already in Kenosha the day of the shootings, having traveled there the previous day for work. It’s easy for you to be confused, since there have been so many lies on DL and in social media about Rittenhouse traveling to Kenosha with a gun.

For this case, you had people on DL who wouldn’t accept the reality of the evidence proving that Rittenhouse acted in self-defense, no matter how many times other people spelled it out for them in detail why Rittenhouse was innocent beyond a reasonable doubt. Instead of referring to the deniers as anti-Rittenhouse, it may be more accurate to describe them as anti-reality.

No surprise. From day one, the judge made sure Kyle would be found not guilty.

But, expect a bunch of Kyle wannabe's . The floodgates has been open and MAGA vigilante's were just given the green light. I also expect that we will see Kyle in a courtroom sooner than later professing his innocence after committing another violent/deadly act.

MSNBC now trying to link the dead pedophile with the Freedom Riders of the 1960s

Say what?

by Anonymousreply 587November 19, 2021 10:40 PM

Kyle Rittenhouse may be the only high profile murderer under 40 that has never had his own "would you do him?" thread on DL.

The night is young.

Man can was repeating their lies tonight in their coverage that he crossed state lines with a gun and that his mother drove him there.

Do people actually watch that channel thinking it’s factual news or do they watch solely to confirm their biases like the Fox News viewers do?

*msnbc

by Anonymousreply 591November 20, 2021 12:21 AM

I had MSNBC on all afternoon. Their reporting was despicable.

by Anonymousreply 592November 20, 2021 12:32 AM

how so r592? (didn't see it)

by Anonymousreply 593November 20, 2021 1:23 AM

The protests being filmed and shared on social media from New York/Brooklyn have people chanting about George Floyd and defunding the police and burning down police stations. What the fuck do those things have to do with this verdict?

by Anonymousreply 594November 20, 2021 1:23 AM

Watched MSNBC as well, r593. The antithesis of despicable. r592 is a troll.

I love Wisconsin!

MSNBC and CNN have no problem knowingly stating false information on air. They only care about telling their viewer base what they want to hear. Their viewers aren’t interested in hearing the truth or anything that goes against their views and preferred narratives. Just like the majority of people on DL.

The fix was in even before the trial started. Tucker Carlson had a crew filming the whole thing to make a documentary and Rittenhouse had some very wealthy people funding the whole thing and paying his lawyer.

by Anonymousreply 598November 20, 2021 1:50 AM

R598, Oh give me a break. The media did everything they could to demonize Rittenhouse even telling outright lies that they refuse to correct even as the trial proved they were lying.

A jury may have found his actions legally justifiable, but that doesn't make them right. Not by a long shot.
