There was a period, maybe early -mid 10s when there were tons of hot guys on Grindr and having sex with a hot guy was more seamless than ordering takeout from DoorDash. Much better pickings than Scruff, Adam4Adam or Manhunt

These apps/sites have always been cyclical, start off with hot guys, end up with trolls.

I'm thinking there's probably another app that will come along soon enough that will be where all the hot guys are. I'm married now, so totally out of it in that regard, but I suspect some DLers will know what the Grindr Replacement Apps are.

A family friend was unsuccessfully blackmailed on Grindr not too long ago and I can't see threads like this without recalling the gory details. For some reason I, an oblivious lesbian, assumed the guys most likely to be sextorted were closet cases or other types with something to lose, which was not the case here.

This guy was in his early twenties and refused to pay up. After some harassment and intimidation he had to call his parents and elderly grandparent to warn them they might receive intimate images delivered to their phones or houses. The scammer never actually went through with it, though. Since then he's become slightly more cautious about presenting hole too early in his correspondence with strangers.
