Let's Be A Hammer Horror Film Production

I'm Christopher Lee

by Anonymousreply 100October 11, 2023 6:58 AM

I'm the cleavage that all the actresses are required to show plenty of.

by Anonymousreply 1October 19, 2021 11:01 PM

I'm Britt Eckland's nude scene

by Anonymousreply 2October 19, 2021 11:09 PM
I'm Christopher Lee

I’m Peter Cushing.

End of thread?

by Anonymousreply 3October 19, 2021 11:13 PM

I'm the feminine, pretty, lipstick lesbian vampires... In real life, lesbians look nothing like us

by Anonymousreply 4October 19, 2021 11:16 PM

I'm the gory and spooky special effects!

by Anonymousreply 5October 19, 2021 11:36 PM

I'm John Hamill. I got my part by letting the producer suck me off and then also fucking the director.

by Anonymousreply 6October 19, 2021 11:38 PM

I'm Miss Barbara Windsor as a busty vampire in the [italic]Carry On[/italic] parody.

by Anonymousreply 7October 19, 2021 11:38 PM

I'm Charles Gray. The best damn homosexual villain there is.

by Anonymousreply 8October 20, 2021 12:22 AM

I'm TCM playing the movies on the 1 AM to 7 AM timeslot in October.

by Anonymousreply 9October 20, 2021 1:45 AM

I’m pre-Dame Joan Collins and I will show tits and snatch if it guarantees me a juicy part.

by Anonymousreply 10October 20, 2021 1:47 AM

I’m the green mist.

by Anonymousreply 11October 20, 2021 1:49 AM

I'm the deliberate attempts not to copy anything unique to the Universal horror films. The stories were in the public domain but certain aspects, like Karloff's monster makeup, were still copyrighted by Universal.

Movies!TV has been running all the Hammer horrors regularly this month.

by Anonymousreply 12October 20, 2021 1:55 AM
if it guarantees me a juicy part.

And a paycheck.

by Anonymousreply 13October 20, 2021 1:55 AM

Well, actresses were part of the prop department until 1975.

by Anonymousreply 14October 20, 2021 2:10 AM

I’m the basement. You will come into me and you will NEVER LEAVE.

by Anonymousreply 15October 20, 2021 2:13 AM

Im the closeups of the female actresses screaming, so close you can count their fillings.

by Anonymousreply 16October 20, 2021 2:55 AM

I'm the goddamn contact lenses that are blinding Chris.

by Anonymousreply 17October 20, 2021 2:58 AM

I'm the score- you know when to be spooked, when to laugh, when to cry, and when to get up and leave.

by Anonymousreply 18October 20, 2021 3:39 AM

I'm the beautiful castle set.

by Anonymousreply 19October 20, 2021 12:13 PM

I'm the gorgeous peasant girl who is also mute.

by Anonymousreply 20October 20, 2021 1:05 PM

I'm the strawberry-magenta blood.

by Anonymousreply 21October 20, 2021 1:25 PM

I'm Bosley Crowther with the New York Times. I hate it all!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 22October 20, 2021 1:38 PM

I love these campy old movies; Peter Cushing is actually very good as Sherlock Holmes in Hound of the Baskervilles.

by Anonymousreply 23October 20, 2021 1:42 PM

I am the matte paintings of castles in gloomy, forested, mountainous backgrounds. Beautiful, but not realistic in the least.

by Anonymousreply 24October 20, 2021 1:43 PM

I'm Ingrid Pitt, Hammer's Queen of Horror despite only appearing in two of their productions.

by Anonymousreply 25October 20, 2021 1:43 PM

I'm the accents! Received pronunciation or Cockney - nothing in-between, lol.

by Anonymousreply 26October 20, 2021 1:44 PM

I'm the heaving lady melons in the décolleté costumes, which for some reason are worn as ubiquitous morning- and afternoon-wear by ladies and sported by every female servants' uniform.

Boobies boobies boobies.

You should see mine!

by Anonymousreply 27October 20, 2021 1:45 PM

I'm the inability or unwillingness of the studio ever to hire an attractive young man as the male ingenue.

Lee would not have it!

by Anonymousreply 28October 20, 2021 1:47 PM

I'm director Terence Fisher.

I brought color, sexual overtones and explicit horror to the genre.

by Anonymousreply 29October 20, 2021 1:49 PM

Christopher Lee was a very capable character actor in Tim Burton's films; makes you wonder why he never had much of a career outside of Hammer in his younger days.

by Anonymousreply 30October 20, 2021 2:00 PM

I'm the hideous looking, deformed and/or deranged, servant and sidekick to the title character.

by Anonymousreply 31October 20, 2021 2:31 PM

Peter Cushing Christopher Lee

Oliver Reed

Madeline Smith

Michael Gough Andre Morrell

Barbara Shelley

Alec McCowen Charles Gray

Veronica Carlson David Prowse as THE CREATURE

and INGRID PITT

in Terence Fisher's

The MALICIOUS MALISON of MAYHEM with the MUMMIFIED MONSTER!!!

by Anonymousreply 32October 25, 2021 6:29 PM

I'm the lead actress. I'm supposed to be a Victorian maiden, but I have a teased bouffant hairdo and tons of liquid eyeliner.

by Anonymousreply 33October 27, 2021 12:09 AM

I'm the wiglets, falls and other 60's hairpieces worn by the characters no matter what year the movie is set in.

Don't think I'm limited to the actresses. Although, at least most of them didn't bother with the glue on mutton chops and sideburns.

by Anonymousreply 34October 27, 2021 12:58 AM

I'm the first of November, you won't have to see me for another elven months.

by Anonymousreply 35November 1, 2021 1:55 PM

Don't forget David Peel, who played Baron Meinster in he Brides of Dracula. He was rumored to be very gay.

by Anonymousreply 36November 1, 2021 2:23 PM

R36 He's hot, so it is okay.

by Anonymousreply 37November 1, 2021 2:44 PM

I’m the prettiest, blondest, bustiest and most virtuous girl. And the only girl who survives Dracula’s reign of terror.

by Anonymousreply 38November 1, 2021 3:16 PM

I watched the Hammer Dracula series this past week, from the 1st movie to the bitter end. It was shocking to notice how Dracula's love interests declined over the years from young babes & attractive women like Barbara Shelley to ugly broads in bad wigs. Poor Dracula

by Anonymousreply 39November 1, 2021 3:37 PM

You WISH you were Christopher Lee, hon.

I'm George Woodbridge!

by Anonymousreply 40November 1, 2021 3:44 PM

I'm the scarf Peter Cushing wore

by Anonymousreply 41November 1, 2021 3:48 PM

I'm Bray Studios

by Anonymousreply 42November 1, 2021 3:55 PM

I'm the modern productions (Let Me In, The Woman In Black, The Lodge, The Resident, etc.) that have the Hammer name and but don't really feel like a Hammer film.

by Anonymousreply 43November 1, 2021 4:40 PM

Working on horror movies must've felt like being the Walmart worker of the entertainment industry: low budget, expected to crank out a lot of content, little respect, etc. Granted, there are worse gigs in the world, but seeing how someone like Peter Cushing worked up almost to the end of his life makes you wonder if he *had* to keep working.

by Anonymousreply 44November 1, 2021 11:24 PM

I’m the splotchy red blood everywhere

by Anonymousreply 45November 1, 2021 11:56 PM

I'm The Studio That Dripped Blood. Narrated by Hammer Horror veteran Charles Gray.

by Anonymousreply 46October 10, 2022 6:18 PM

I'm the Victorian or Edwardian era the film is set in!

by Anonymousreply 47October 10, 2022 6:19 PM

I'm Ingrid Pitt, pissed as hell at having my voice dubbed for Countess Dracula.

by Anonymousreply 48October 10, 2022 6:31 PM

R48 Should have shown your tits

by Anonymousreply 49October 10, 2022 6:37 PM

I'm the occasional scene beautifully shot on-location at a real centuries' old castle. I'm one of the main reasons you're tuning in.

by Anonymousreply 50October 10, 2022 6:39 PM

I'm torture porn.

by Anonymousreply 51October 10, 2022 6:43 PM

I’m the vaguely Germanic but also vaguely Slavic setting. I am the mysterious “Mitteleuropa”.

by Anonymousreply 52October 10, 2022 7:08 PM

I’m Christopher Lee’s long swooping cape! Watch me at the top of the stairs!

by Anonymousreply 53October 10, 2022 7:24 PM

R52 BUT I am set in Romania

by Anonymousreply 54October 10, 2022 9:19 PM
I'm the inability or unwillingness of the studio ever to hire an attractive young man as the male ingenue.

Except for Anthony Higgins in "Vampire Circus" (1972), who I've been in love with since I was a boy.

I'm 9 years old, sitting in a theater, watching an actor getting a cage of hungry rats strapped to his face. I'm still terrified of rats, wild or domestic. What were my parents thinking, letting me go see this?

by Anonymousreply 57October 11, 2022 2:19 AM

I'm the pendulum about to slice through the white puffy shirt of the hero tied to a massive stone platform, about which a deep stone pit threatens.

All the boys in the audience are waiting for the reveal.

by Anonymousreply 58October 11, 2022 12:53 PM

I'm the classic novel that I am very loosely based on.

by Anonymousreply 59October 11, 2022 12:59 PM

R57 and 58 aren't even referencing Hammer films.

by Anonymousreply 60October 11, 2022 2:00 PM

R60 what movies are they referencing?

by Anonymousreply 61October 11, 2022 2:52 PM

R58 is talking about Roger Corman's The Pit and The Pendulum from American-International Pictures the home of Frankie and Annette.

by Anonymousreply 62October 11, 2022 3:59 PM

Is R57 "Willard" (1971)?

by Anonymousreply 63October 11, 2022 5:45 PM

I wonder if R57 is referring to the film 1984 with John Hurt. There's a scene where a cage of rats is tied to his head to get information from him.

by Anonymousreply 64October 11, 2022 7:05 PM

R57 here. I think it was something to do with witch hunting in the olden times. There were other torture scenes, IIRC.

I'll ask the therapist after my next hypnosis session.

by Anonymousreply 65October 12, 2022 6:46 AM

You might be talking about Mark of The Devil.

by Anonymousreply 66October 12, 2022 5:47 PM

I'm the village pub that goes silent when a stranger walks in.

by Anonymousreply 67October 13, 2022 2:15 PM

I'm the midget - sometimes I'm the sidekick of the hero - sometimes I work at the pub - but I always wear tights.

by Anonymousreply 68October 13, 2022 5:07 PM

I'm the scene where Peter Cushing plays the violin to show this film is a high caliber production

by Anonymousreply 69October 8, 2023 9:19 PM

I am Eric Porter in Hands of the Ripper!

by Anonymousreply 70October 8, 2023 9:22 PM
I'm the feminine, pretty, lipstick lesbian vampires... In real life, lesbians look nothing like us

Speak for yourself, hon.

by Anonymousreply 71October 9, 2023 11:54 AM

I'm dry ice.

by Anonymousreply 72October 9, 2023 12:01 PM

"I am the mysterious “Mitteleuropa"

Vulgaria?

by Anonymousreply 73October 9, 2023 12:11 PM

I'm Barbara Steele. I'm mad as hell nobody's mentioned me yet. I'll just leave here and go make a horror flick in Italy. I'm still alive. Alive!

by Anonymousreply 74October 9, 2023 1:54 PM

by Anonymousreply 76October 9, 2023 3:15 PM

R57 My dad used to drop me off at the movies. to watch horror films by myself. My friends weren’t allowed to see scary movies. I remember how the Blob and Village of the damned scared the crap out of me for yrs

When my parents went to see Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, they took me. I was nine. The scene where Blanche was starving to death still makes me shiver! What were MY parents thinking?????

by Anonymousreply 77October 9, 2023 3:22 PM

<- Joan had some stunning scenes in that movie. She used all of her 40 years of film acting experience. The starving scene; calling Dr. Shelby; and the final beach scene. And you totally believed she was a cripple.

by Anonymousreply 78October 9, 2023 4:52 PM

I'm the crossover with the films referenced in this thread.

Rep 77: what were they thinking? My mother would drop my brother and I off at the movies. Lolita was playing at our local theater. They would not allow an unaccompanied child to view the film.

So she drove us over to the next town to watch WEHTBJ. Seen today Lolita seems very tame. Serving roasted rats and parboiled parakeets does not.

by Anonymousreply 80October 10, 2023 8:21 AM

Erratum: rep 57!

by Anonymousreply 81October 10, 2023 8:22 AM

To me the scariest thing in ANY Hammer Horror Film was Hazel Court.

by Anonymousreply 82October 10, 2023 5:13 PM

Is any station showing these this year? Because I totally need my fix of the dripping blood leaving a River of blood leading to the dangling, dripping, vampire puncture marks.

by Anonymousreply 83October 10, 2023 5:48 PM

R4, There are lipstick lesbians.

by Anonymousreply 84October 10, 2023 5:51 PM

I am Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing looking good mainly because of everyone else in the cast.

by Anonymousreply 85October 10, 2023 6:00 PM

I am the peculiar Garish Gothic set designs, and the occasional domestic interior that looks like the Grip's mother's house was used while she was out getting her toenails trimmed.

by Anonymousreply 86October 10, 2023 6:02 PM

I am Basil Rathbone!

by Anonymousreply 87October 10, 2023 6:04 PM

I'm the décolleté..

by Anonymousreply 88October 10, 2023 6:17 PM

R68, being fancy doesn't get you past R1.

by Anonymousreply 89October 10, 2023 6:18 PM

I'm the day-for-night outdoor scenes, invariably filmed under strong daylight with a special filter that makes everything look as if the lens had been smeared with blue shoe polish. I'm about as believable as the magenta blood that R21 has mentioned, and the crummy special effects.

by Anonymousreply 90October 10, 2023 6:21 PM

I'm The House that Bled to Death!

Does TV Hammer count? Still remember this one for giving me nightmares, never was a fan of horror.

by Anonymousreply 91October 10, 2023 6:53 PM

I'm Denholm Elliott

by Anonymousreply 92October 10, 2023 8:46 PM

John Carradine here. Any roles for me? I'll do almost anything. .

by Anonymousreply 96October 11, 2023 2:55 AM

I'm the beautiful heroine in a diaphanous nightgown wandering down a creepy hall with a candle.

by Anonymousreply 97October 11, 2023 3:10 AM

I'm the Kate Bush song inspired by Hammer Films:

Who calls me from the other side

Of the street?

And who taps me on the shoulder?

I turn around, but you're gone.
