Are any other cast going to Canada for that convention besides Kit and Ben? Kit still appears to be filming in Italy but I thought this was a cute little fan story so I’m cheering up the DL TL with some more S&B content. Maybe he’s expected to wrap by the time they go to Canada.

I have no specific info on S&B and can’t remember if I said this before, but I know other major streaming productions are having to shift production to the UK and Canada due to a backlog of all the licensing and logistics issues caused by covid so I wouldn’t be surprised if they start production in the UK or Canada, but it would be hard to replicate the real location in Hungary they use for the little palace

R23 yes and I’ll add/correct to say a significant portion of the 2nd book actually involves them all (darkling, mal and Alina) hunting for the amplifiers and there’s an intro of an important character Nikolai and some of it takes place on a ship in the sea. So there’s actually a lot to film outside the palace now that I think of it. And that’s not even including the crow story lines

All of the other celebrity guests already have prices listed for photo ops, autographs and table photos. The only thing available for Ben is a photo op on a separate website, and that website says he will only be there one day (Saturday).

BB getting a lot of DL publicity

Chike and Rege-Jean Page have recently come out with stories on the calm app and I don’t know why no one has asked Ben to do one yet. I would definitely listen to that he has a great voice. Everyone could use it when the DL gets a bit too feisty too

R36 Certainly a possible explanation, however I've always interpreted it as two different time slots. There's usually the 5:30ish one and the dinner time one. Of course when you allow for +/- 15 to 30 minutes cause things happen, those potential slots can get blurred. Maybe sometimes he "has to" combine them to a 6something slot, but there have been many, MANY times when there have been multiple check ins at both the 5:30 and dinner time. And that's why I've always interpreted it as two different slots.

But of course who actually knows! *shrug*

I don't know why I didn't reply to R37 at the same time, sorry.. but anyway, he has mentioned in interviews before alluding to how much of a distraction his phone could easily be for him, and how much time he could easily spend on it. He may very well purposefully give himself only strictly regimented time slots to control what he already knows would be a vice. It's possible..

To be fair, if BB limits his SM usage, that’s a good thing. A healthy thing. However, enough photos of him buried on his phone suggest that it’s only his SM usage (which he likely categorized as work) that is limited, and he’s still a device addict ;-)

I suspect he’s probably recently turned on post notifications for the S&B cast and pages because cast announcements are imminent and they are all expected to be interacting and driving engagement leading up to and during production. Or at least that’s how it’s been for social media approaches on similar projects I’ve worked on. If he’s taking on a more involved role in production (maybe for producer credit?) he might also have just become more engaged in general

R47 Obviously possible, however in general it's been wondered if he has notifications on for maybe literally everybody (well yes that is an exaggeration but hopefully you get my point) cause it's often observed (though absolutely not always) that he winds up hitting like VERY quickly after someone posts, and those someones extend far beyond the S&B cast. Are all of those instances coincidences cause he just happened to be checking SM? No, likely not all because they fall outside his usual SM slots.

So we wonder as we try to pick apart the observed neuroses of an annoyingly tight lipped confusing dude. It's a thing.

I’m being hypocritical by even checking it cuz I think Venmo stalking is way too invasive which is why I originally posted that article about Biden’s Venmo and the resulting necessary settings change everyone should do. I originally suspected Rob was passing info from DL to BB but if Rob isn’t following the same security advice as BB maybe that’s not the case and BB either read it here himself or got it from somewhere else. Once they had the option to hide the amount and then who it was with you would think they would also have added the option to hide the friend list since that basically could represent a high level transaction history. A friend of a friend found out her husband cheated on her just from a new appearance in the friend list of his account so it’s not just a celeb problem I guess lol. But even more weird this wasn’t caught and changed when Braintree and then PayPal acquired Venmo. Just makes sense to have maximum privacy setting options when it comes to financial data by default IMO

I let my ex file, because it forced him to produce financial disclosures first, put more financial & negotiating burden on him as the petitioner. That was my strategy. For reasons unknown, I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of my ex travel trade days trying to work out his timings today. Not that it matters in the least, but I’m intrigued.

There were 3 flights to Toronto operating, BA 13:10, Air Canada 14:05, BA 17:05 (There are more airlines shown as having flights but they are either code-sharing with BA or else indirect, doubt he’d choose that unless he’d no choice?)

They both ended up leaving at round about the same time, 14:36 and 14:18 respectively, arriving at Toronto at approx 17:00 local

We don’t know if he’s staying in Toronto. It could be a layover there for a connecting flight which is why he might be there for a few hours. And normally you have to go through passport control and get your luggage upon entry to the country before rechecking it for a connecting domestic flight so he could have been busy with all that. It’s a nightmare right now with all the extra restrictions and some airports still operating with reduced or unpredictable staff.

That’s why Ben and many other actors are cast very close to having to leave for production, especially if there are multiple auditions and chemistry reads involved. Ben was cast about a month before leaving for Budapest (although he didn’t really have to audition) and Kit was cast about 2 weeks before going to Budapest.

Netflix might have deemed it too risky to go to a con right before pre/production starts (assuming they are that close) and asked them to avoid that risk. Whole movies can be shot in like 6 weeks depending on what it is, so it isn’t necessarily a supporting role, but it could be. Or maybe just a pilot or few episodes of something. He might have been cast last minute or there was just uncertainty about the production schedule or he just didn’t think it was responsible to go to a con right now especially when it had the increased risk of delaying production for both this project and the next one. I think everyone is reading into this cancellation a lot but it didn’t even seem like a high priority in the first place so if there’s any minor conflict that would be the first thing to go

R390 True, there's the base entry to con tickets, and then there's the extras, which are separate. However, what I keep mentioning is the cancellation tweet specifically said EPIC PHOTO OPS will be in touch about your PURCHASED PACKAGE. My question then is, is epic photo ops the con itself, and therefore they can refund the entry tickets (why does it say package then, which would assume a three day ticket purchase)? Or are they the photography package people? (Certainly more likely given the name at least.) Cause that implies "tickets" specifically for Ben already went on sale and now need to be refunded.

R406 Please allow me to honestly (read: without sarcasm or malice etc.) provide a bit of virology 101 to help better explain the danger EVERYONE is still in and will continue to be in. First I'll provide the context that The CDC in May I believe made the public decision to NOT follow/study ANY breakthrough cases unless the vaccinated person wound up in the hospital. That almost by definition means they are NOT tracking unhospitalized breakthrough cases at all. Which means we have no idea just how many breakthrough cases there are, and we cannot say they're relatively infrequent. That absolutely may be the case, but we do not know one way or the other period. Also of worry from the CDC was that leaked report from July that showed they withheld their knowledge of how bad Delta was and was going to be back in May and June. Why did they withhold it? Unfortunately (godfuckingdammit CDC..) it is easy speculation to make to think they wanted to reopen the economy and get people back to normal no matter what. They said vaccinated people didn't have to wear masks despite having at least some of the withheld data on Delta. They later corrected to say everyone should return to wearing masks regardless of vaccination status. It's infuriating to me that that happened cause it reduces their credibility if there might be ulterior motives instead of sole responsibility to public health and the anti-vaxxers can use that, but whatever, it happened. Anyway..

Here's the virology lesson on why even the vaccinated need masks again. Viruses mutate when and because their cells replicate. They replicate only once the virus infects a host, they can't do so "in the wild". Meaning the more people that are infected AT ALL (not just hospitalized), the higher the probability that further mutations will occur. Will every one of those future mutations be a variant that completely evades the vaccine? No, it's 100% certain that won't be the case. But the probability that a mutation with increased ability to evade our vaccine induced immune response increases with every infection. That is obviously not OK as it would put the world back at square one.

Also allow me to clarify what the data show the current vaccines do (specifically applied to Delta). They do not (read: always, cause we don't actually know the breakthrough rate) prevent infection. A vaccinated person has exactly as much viral load as an unvaccinated person. That's why vaccinated people absolutely can now spread the virus to EVERYONE else (not just the unvaccinated). What the vaccine does do however is allow your body to clear the infection faster/more efficiently. And *that* is how it doesn't prevent infection, but does prevent hospitalization and death. That's where we are now because of an almost unprecedentedly transmissible mutation. Delta effectively (at least in a way) already has evaded the vaccine at least initially, though we are still able to catch up with it eventually. The vaccines prevent you from dying and that should have been the messaging instead of flip flopping, which doesn't induce trust.

If everything goes completely back to normal with the vaccinated living like Covid isn't an issue anymore the mutations will continue. That is a legitimate concern for the future efficacy of vaccines. We do need to learn to live with it, but that should involve efforts that prevent further spread as much as possible. Maskless indoor events, even if you are vaccinated, do not fit that criteria. Keep in mind that virus transmissibility is highest towards the beginning of infection, largely before you even start feeling symptoms and realize you have it at all. These have to be concerns taken into consideration if we want to responsibly learn to live with this going forward, whether we mind masks or don't. It's not denial, it's respecting science. Do most people know that science? No, and that's the problem.

I’m double-vaxxed and so are my friends. One of them rang me last week and said they’d tested positive. I’d met up with them 7 days before. I had no symptoms, they did - same as a summer cold. I did a home LF test and tested negative. I didn’t want to assume I was OK because I had no symptoms - I could have had it and been spreading it unknowingly.

So the vaccine is not a silver bullet for vaxxed or non-vaxxed people. It doesn’t stop you getting or spreading it. I still wear a mask on public transport (we’re required to in London by TFL, the transport authority, but I’d still wear one anyway) and indoors while shopping or moving about in restaurants or bars. Most people are.

We can’t live in our basements for the rest of our lives but more people need to get vaxxed to help fight it. It will never stop us getting it but will reduce the consequences.

I question why any of the big gatherings are being allowed right now - maybe next spring would have been better with hopefully more vaxxed people out and about. There just aren’t enough yet. And the booster programs need to start now too. We’ve still got the winter to get through too, with seasonal flu infections on top of Covid. I can answer yes to every single one of your questions, I take covid very seriously, the risk is constant and real to everyone, you don’t have a monopoly on emotions towards covid just because you process and project them differently than others. Accountability would have meant owning up to having done wrong, or if there was a legitimate explanation (or yes even belief) why it wasn't wrong, correcting with that. It's the right thing to do in a cohesive society. The most important reason for that owning to happen is because it should be a learning moment. A reset, and then we move on. It's a moment where you acknowledge and accept you did something wrong, and that acknowledgment and learning hopefully means you won't do it again. That's the "power" of accountability and why I wanted it.

Ben never acknowledged or explained a wrong. He instead doubles down in ways that make me think he either doesn't believe he did anything wrong, or doesn't believe accountability applies to him cause he just wants to be happy all the time and fulfill his dreams and desires and be loved and (vomit). Which means to me he possibly hasn't learned a damned thing about Covid.

Here is just an example of my worries/view point. This pic is not his crafted public version of himself. He knows how to act responsibly when he poses for those. It's a candid shot. Now are there possible explanations? Yes. For example, he was filming and kissing Evan in that video. Is he trusting a negative test here? Weird mixed messages..). Since he didn't show he learned anything, I can't trust that he's definitely being completely safe here and I have to wonder and worry that he's not.

(Other possible points, he was wearing a mask in the sightseeing in Bath video. If that was his dad with him, well maybe he was just making sure he kept him safe? I mean did he just artfully hide the mask for the Reminiscence pic with Lisa Joy? How about originally doing that Calgary con in two weeks, were masks required by all participants or would he have gone maskless the whole time? Seemed to me like multiple people from the DL had some bad intentions who originally saw those comments and posted them here to stir up drama. There was another troll who continued to post her info in every thread for a while-- separate people. That person also started the thread about the young fan who was being talked about here and clearly was trying to sabotage our threads. Based on those SS, her friend is the one who tagged her, so she could not delete her friend's comment as you're saying. Even though I have fun speculating about her insta stories and am highly guilty of doing so, I doubt she is posting them about Ben (as everyone said already, it's been years and I imagine she's had other boyfriends.) In fairness it is not her fault that we are speculating and over-analysing her life. As someone mentioned several threads back, now that we know of her, everything she does will be read into and I actually think it's unfair to blame her for that.

If you know anything about how algorithms work it’s highly unlikely that the SmartAss account or whichever of Ross’s trolling accounts it was on originally would just randomly show up in someone’s discover page if they haven’t viewed/interacted with the account before since it wasn’t an account with enough likes or follows to “trend” on the discovery page on its own. I think it was one or two real people who either started here first or discovered that account previously and decided to orchestrate the whole thing and Ross may or may not be involved but he has since commented on her pics as if they are friends and considering how unhinged all his trolling is I wouldn’t be surprised if he planned it. Its quite convenient that the schizophrenic account happened to see and take screenshots of it in the short time between when the comments were made and when they were immediately “asked” to be deleted. It’s completely possible to delete your own comments and if those two people in the comments were actually friends she could have at least asked her friend to delete her own comments on the very rare chance there was some glitch in her account preventing it so the original context was removed. The “cease and desist” comment also makes it sound like someone who may have watched a lot of Law and Order and thinks it sounds cool and official and may have wanted to make it look like Ben uses NDA’s considering all the recent rumors and news stories about them, but any credible lawyer would know how unenforceable personal NDA’s are and would not risk their reputation on sending a letter like that for a personal NDA, nor would that have necessarily been explicitly communicated as what you could expect if you violated it. Plus this all supposedly happened in 2017-2018 before this ridiculous Hollywood NDA BS became a big thing and Ben isn’t famous enough to need that or have the money required to get a good lawyer to try to defend that or expect to afford a settlement if anything happened.
