Who is making the decisions at GH? Pushing on us an actor that nearly everybody detests (W. Ramsey). A soap is not a cartoon. A soap is not a home for nepotism. A soap is a daytime drama that strikes a balance of character-driven stories, excitement, thwarted love, realized love, with just the right dash of comedy. Throw in a few truly hunky men and I'm happy (all we have is Chase).

It seems that Wes is an even worse actor now than before his time off. I’m hoping that means he knows his time on the show is almost over and he’s just through even trying.

Speaking of Maxie, what's the point of her, again? She's been professionally stagnant for decades, a miserable failure at romance, her parents, sister and best friend are no longer on the canvas, and she has three children (by different men), none of whom she raises.

Maxie is an audience-identification for the portion of the GH audience who identifies with a vapid young woman, endlessly oblivious to her self-centeredness, who can just barely keep her life together.

Casey the Alien was a beautiful, poetic story that focused on a very young Robin's experience.

A good actor like Jeff Kober can come on to the show, given little info about the character and create a fully rounded character. Sure, he mostly sneered the first few weeks, but he helped create a character with legacy ties to the show.

WR was given every possible angle to play his character, for many years, and still could never bring any subtlety to his character. It was always one extreme or another.

GH still looks good. I was very impressed with that wedding yesterday. The church set was great and they had quite a few cast members and extras there. The show's budget is likely tied to ratings. A small increase in ratings has probably lead to small increase in budget. That pool set wasn't cheap and they even had extras in most scenes.

Also seems that FV has negotiated fewer work days for the big 3. They seem to be on more breaks away than before. That's a big cost saving

I really don't understand how you fuck up a return from the dead that badly. Returns from the dead are paint by number at this point. If Sonny didn't show up at the wedding or the wedding reception, then he needed to show up as Jason was throwing all five inches into Carly. Where is the drama and the jeopardy with what happened yesterday?

Nina couldn't fuck Mike because of current soap standards related to those things. But there was no reason why Jason and Carly couldn't fuck.

The Nina/"Mike" storyline reminds me a lot of the "Todd"/Marty storyline OLTL did in it's last few years. The difference was that "Todd" did get to sleep with Marty, then was put on trial for rape, but he wasn't convicted.

As much as I've enjoyed the "Mike" story, this climax has been such a letdown. So much potential not realized! Where's Doug Marland or Agnes Nixon when you need to write a climax with a payoff!?

First off, this climax should have been a November sweeps storyline. Not a September storyline. They could easily have had lots of near misses with Port Charles residents coming to Nixon Falls. A good writer would know how to stretch this out for 6 more weeks.

Nina and "Mike" should have slept together before his memory returned. And she should end of pregnant. Yes, that would be considered rape under current politically correct standards since Sonny doesn't know who he is. But hey, a storyline with a pregnant Nina on trial for raping Sonny could have been interesting.

Likewise, Jason and Carly should have slept together and she ended up pregnant before Sonny returned. Then you get to play scenes of Carly being torn between Jason and Sonny with the extra twist of the baby.

Meanwhile, you've got Nina pregnant with Sonny's child which causes him to be torn between Nina and Carly.

Nina and Carly are both too old to be pregnant.

If the characters are the same age as the actresses, Carly is 51 and Nina is 53, so not likely but not necessarily impossible.

The “Mike” storyline was, for the most part, dull. The reveal was lackluster. Now most of the town is of course, welcoming back this lowlife, entitled, murderer thug. Epiphany’s welcome back was beyond disturbing…to me at least. Nina’s demeanor, now that she is back in PC, is so odd. Is she gonna go psychotic?

The GH producers' choice to make Sonny Corinthos a hero is, I wouldn't say criminal, but I would say disgusting. Glorifying criminals is an insult to anyone whose life has been affected by the behavior of criminals. Sonny is not a businessman distributing coffee; there is something more nefarious in his dealings. Certainly, in the past, he has gotten a young girl hooked on drugs and murdered several people without remorse or punishment. I think the GH producers believe that viewers want to love the bad guy, rather on the level of The Godfather. In a well conceived show, Sonny's character would be juxtaposed with a true hero; he would periodically suffer for his crimes; and the terrible effects of his crimes on others would be revealed. Instead, the producers gloss over Sonny's criminal actions and make, as a centerpiece of this historic show, a stuttering, strutting criminal; his mentally damaged hitman; and his shrewish wife. Frank Valentino, how do you look yourself in the mirror? I'd like to challenge the producers to show us the families whose lives have been devastated by Sonny's criminal actions. Just because a show has viewers (and advertisers) doesn't make the creation of it right.

I think Sonny pays for his crimes, but it's not so in your face. The show has chosen to make him pay in subtle ways. But it has never given him the lose everything, fight to build it back up again stories that other soaps have given their leads. I think an interesting story would have been that Sonny comes back to Port Charles, Jason and Carly are happily married and running the business and don't want to give it up.

There is always some outside force or another mob family who is after Sonny, what if that trio was at odds with each other. I think it would make a fascinating story.

When Frank and Ron took over the show in 2012, Ron tried to balance the show out and move focus away from Sonny, who became more of a supporting character. He was still involved with a storyline -- the Joe Scully, Jr (played by Richard Steinmetz) story, but was not the center of the show.

Apparently Maurice Benard complained and so did viewers. The network ordered Sonny back to the center of the show.

Guza's biggest sin was re-writing Rick Webber's history and making him a philandering pervert.
