Causing her to bleed... all because she asked her to keep her seatbelt on.
Creeps.

As women become “empowered” we’re seeing that they’re just as horrible as they always say men are.

This type of stuff usually doesn't happen on Southwest Airlines. It's a weekly occurrence on Spirit Airlines.

Or on Jet Blue.

People are becoming savages. I do not understand this violence in airplanes directed towards flight attendants. It's crazy. They have rigid safety protocols to enforce.

Americans are an angry and violent people. This country has become a really miserable place to have to live.

I wish the black guy had punched that stupid white girl while defending the flight attendant. But at the same time he'd be in jail right now, or dead...

The fact that the flight was leaving Sacramento tells me all I need to know. Sacramento is full of rude, white trash.

by Anonymous | reply 13 | May 28, 2021 3:53 AM |
Yeah, I know I’m fortunate not to be from Haiti or Somalia or something, and I know that people suck everywhere. I do think Americans are angry and violent in a particular way that’s intensified with the political polarization stemming from the right wing propaganda of the last couple of decades. We are coarser and meaner to each other and the consequence of being a country flooded with guns is obvious in all the mass shootings. This is just my opinion.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | May 28, 2021 4:06 AM |
Yes, it’s a federal offense to endanger a crew member or interfere with their duties.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | May 28, 2021 4:16 AM |
I just flew a Southwest flight and they announced before we boarded that they expected a lot of turbulence on this flight and so the flight attendants wouldn’t be offering beverage service. So Southwest is finding new ways to screw its passengers, so I bet they’ll see more of this type of behavior.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | May 28, 2021 4:22 AM |
R16, how is that screwing passengers? What is it about turbulence that you're not understanding?

I used to regularly take the Paris-Houston flight for work. Once I had to go get a flight attendant because an old woman was trying to open the door because "j'ai besoin d'air, je ne peux pas respirer!". Another time the flight inexplicably stopped over for 6 hours in Montreal and we weren't allowed to leave the plane. Fights broke out all over the plane. I'd bought a selection of French cheeses at Duty Free at de Gaulle which during a flight which ended up lasting 16 hours, ended up stinking more and more... Then there was the time the flight from Houston to Paris which was supposed to leave at 10:30 at night. Finally at 4 am Air France announced the flight would only be leaving the next morning at 8 am (it actually left at 2 pm). Air France generously announced they would pay for the 'meal of our choice at the restaurant of our choice' in the airport. Nothing's open at 4 am in the Houston airport. Fights broke out.
Then there was the bitch who sat in front of me and slammed her seat into my knees for the whole flight (j'ai paye ma place, je peux faire ce que je veux!) and when I complained to the bitch flight attendant she told me I should shut up.
I was very relieved when British Airways started direct flights to Houston.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | May 28, 2021 5:11 AM |
I love British Airways. A lot of the cabins are older and their business is not as plush as others, but their service is excellent. I love flying with BA when I travel to Europe.

by Anonymous | reply 24 | May 28, 2021 5:38 AM |
Even when things get turbulent, how hard would it be to pass out a can of Coke or bottle of water to thirsty passengers? Flight attendants are getting fatte2r and lazier.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | May 28, 2021 5:42 AM |
I just can't imagine anything a Flight Attendant doing that would make me ball-up my fist and pop her in the mouth.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | May 28, 2021 6:42 AM |
Some of the passengers are siding with the arrested passenger. They are saying this flight attendant was crazy and caused it. Charges will probably be dropped.
This is stressing me out. I have fear of flying now. What is going on? It never used to be this way. They have to go back to the older regulations and more space per passenger.

by Anonymous | reply 37 | May 28, 2021 3:01 PM |
People who commit these offenses should be banned from flying for a specific amount of time, like 5 to 10 years.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | May 28, 2021 3:23 PM |
Anyone who flies with any frequency at all knows you need to keep your seatbelt fastened while the jet is taxiing. The low prices and pent-up demand for travel have brought out a new group of unseasoned, ill-mannered doofs. This is what happens.

If these airlines want passengers to behave, they should be required to hire only big black muscle boys from the hood as flight attendants. Jobs and compliance. Win Win.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | May 28, 2021 7:06 PM |
There should be a separate 'launch' compartment for these perpetrators whereby a parachute is forcibly attached to their body and a lever is pulled to drop them out of the belly of the plane with no consideration given as to whether they have the intelligence to figure out how to deploy the parachute, nor zero fucks given to where they might land.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | May 28, 2021 7:14 PM |
the passengers are saying this flight attendant was harassing people. They heard people stating get off me, or get your hands off me multiple times. So they are stating the flight attendant started it, and this arrested passenger was acting in self defense.
It sounds like an ordeal. And it was a short flight too.
The Airlines have to improve their services, more rooms, more passenger rights.

You have to watch local news clips and write up that are not FOX NEWS/Sinclair affiliated. I just Sacrament and LA news. I look into it because it kind of freaked me out, how flight attendants can treat people, then lie. Remember, the man who got assaulted and had a serious concussion. All the passengers siding with this passenger. However, this was not what the airline was leaking to the press.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | May 29, 2021 4:20 AM |
Do not believe the airlines. They always leak and lie to the press. It looks like they lied to the press bc they want to do damage control. The Iphone video is heavily edited. Passengers are saying it does not show the flight attendant harassing (or assaulting passenger.) It was just a brief encounter of a woman in self defense or whatever you call it.
Actually, the woman cooperated and was able to calm down.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | May 29, 2021 4:24 AM |
A hella self-defense.
Against having to fasten her seatbelt?
by Anonymous | reply 51 | May 29, 2021 4:28 AM |
The fact that some other passenger had to intervene kind of weakens the theory of self defense.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | May 29, 2021 4:29 AM |
the flight attendant union is jumping the gun with this story, with already developed press packages. The flight Attendant Union wants to join with the pilot union, but this is not going to happen because they have very, very different skill set. Pilot are very skilled and have access to more information.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | May 29, 2021 4:29 AM |
no it doesn't. I am against violence. But there is more evidence that the airline is not releasing to the press on this case. I think the charges will be dropped. This is because the witness are stating they side with the arrested passenger. You cannot win a case like this in California.
We shall see.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | May 29, 2021 4:32 AM |
So what if the stewardess was touching her? Nothing about the descriptions of the stewardess' behavior indicates she was being violent or physically threatening towards the thug that attacked her -- this would have been clear from claims of the passengers defending her. This was NOT self-defense.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | May 29, 2021 4:52 AM |
Pre-pandemic, I traveled by air 4-5 times a year (domestic and international). I know it can happen on any airline and this is purely anecdotal, but Southwest is one of the few airlines where I've witnessed abusive, unprofessional behavior from employees towards passengers on several occasions. American Airlines is the other one I personally have seen this happen more than once, but United has had more high profile incidents (e.g., Dr. David Dao dragged off the plane) that tend to make the news.
Maybe it's an understandable reaction to their clientele, but SWA, in my personal experience, has a fairly toxic passenger-facing culture.
Not defending this violent heifer, just saying I'm not surprised that other witnesses are coming forward with more details about the FA's culpability.
By the grace of god, I've been able to avoid Spirit, Frontier, Allegiant, AirTran, etc., so my experience is probably skewed and YMMV.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | May 29, 2021 4:55 AM |
if there is a trial, this will most likely be her defense. Plus, a good lawyer will counter change. They do have witnesses who are on their side.
Do not believe the Airlines.
