Triple X-cut of Basic Instinct will be out this year

I'm not sure I understand how it will be XXX. Wouldn't it have to graphically show penetration?

I’d rather see the XXX version of Showgirls.

This is such a marketing play. You’ll barely be able to see her slit’s five o’clock shadow.

by Anonymousreply 2May 18, 2021 2:23 PM

I think they mean triple NC-17.

Like I said on the original thread, it's just Sharon Stone calling it the "XXX version," it's not really a hardcore version at all. Marketing ploy.

There is no such thing as XXX.

It was an invention of pornographers in the '70s to make their films seem even dirtier than X.

And there is nothing even X-rated (now NC-17) about Basic Instinct.

Marketing.

When X originally began to be used, it was for legitimate films that were deemed to have content that shouldn't be viewed by anyone under 17. Midnight Cowboy, which was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, was rated X.

So porn declared itself to be XXX. So you knew you weren't going to be watching a thoughtful and moving character study that hinted at blowjobs, but actual blowjobs, fucking, etc.

XXX hasn't been a thing for a looooooong time.

Wait until you see what comes OUT of there!

by Anonymousreply 7May 18, 2021 3:56 PM

It’s likely getting the NC17 rating because of the combination of sex and graphic violence, not because of any depiction of vaginal penetration.

by Anonymousreply 8May 18, 2021 4:40 PM

Why would Sharon even want to stop it?

by Anonymousreply 9May 18, 2021 4:40 PM

I already watched Basic Instinct in high def and it's wild how much you can see in the opening sex scene.

Back in the day on cable and VHS, the reds would bleed on the screen and it was hard to see anything specifically. In high def, the exact same scene becomes far more graphically violent, gratuitously bloody, and shocking

^^ Plus the dude’s dick and nut sack! Isn’t he Cassandra Peterson’s husband?

I haven’t seen the film since the Laserdisc release, all those years ago, so I’m looking forward to this new one. Going to have to upgrade my blu ray player to 4K UHD.

Here is the new version with her photoshopped.
