I didn't like the lemon wedges on the lemon poppy seed cake. You shouldn't have to remove something from your food before eating, and many chefs agree that everything on the plate should be edible. A small pansy would look lovely and a nod to spring on those cake squares. Even a candied lemon peel would be better.

Also, you never take the jam from the serving dish or jar and put it directly onto the food. You take a tiny amount, put it on the side of your plate, and then put it on your toast, scone, etc. He needs to study his basic table manners.

Hello everyone, this is Nicolas. I have been made aware in the last few months by quite a few people that these threads exist. I made a choice not to read them as I have always held the view that people will have opinions about me and I really don’t need to know all of them.

However I received an email this morning regarding a few comments in this thread where someone has claimed that my YouTube channel has been audited. As I work really hard on my content and channel, to build a genuine audience of viewers who share my passions, I felt that I should respond to this.

My channel has not been audited. The reason my views went down by over 650,000 on Sunday 23rd is because I deleted 4 or 5 of my earlier videos. These videos all had copyright issues because of the soundtrack I used on them. All of the videos I deleted featured my neighbour, Tracey, and together we chose the soundtrack from the movie ‘Emma’ after watching it and loving the music. Sadly this meant that I had to delete some of my most popular videos, like the tour of Tracey’s home.

As I recently hit 100K subscribers and would like to receive my Silver Playbutton, I thought it was best to delete them, and for all of my videos to be completely copyright compliant.

Whilst I am here I guess I should take the opportunity to say thanks for your interest in my content - whether you love it or hate it, it’s really strange for me to know that people are discussing it all.

This is the first and last time I will read or comment here but I truly want to wish you all the very best - keep sharing your opinions and laugher.

That link to see the audited results was very interesting. Nicholas must have paid for traffic and got caught. I checked Lady Colin Campbell to see how much she is making and her traffic. One thing I notice is overall YouTube subscriptions seem flat for most popular channels like The Chateau Diaries. Lady Colin Campbell is doing better in revenue than Stephanie Jarvis. No wonder she posts new wild vlogs aall the time, YouTube is what's getting her business going.

The house tour video was interesting but overly long. A commenter noticed that Nic took down his 49 framed botanical prints. That always looked kind of tacky, IMO, so, maybe he realized the error of his ways and took them down.

Some things are still very Ross and TJ Maxx, like those sticks in a bottle of oil in his foyer area.

I don't know why he's not been showing his kitchen work area. It's a nice kitchen, IMO. He complained about the fridge, said he wished it were more hidden, with a cabinet cover. Who cares; it's an appliance.

I can't figure out how he supports himself. YouTube can't be enough to live on. Scented oils would be essential if there was dampness and mold. In cold Scotland I assume there could be a problem. Besides those sticks his only options are scent plug-ins and air fresheners. The sticks look mush better than those options. I must admit I use them from Yankee Candle. Wouldn't it have been possible to detach the soundtrack from the video and replace it with some other music? Are his videos edited in such a way that the music is permanent? Never done this myself, so I don't know how it works.

Well, I give him a lot of credit for at least doing something. He's taking action and making his dreams a reality. Starts off in a beautiful park, but then he goes to some dreary interiors store that looks exactly like thousands of others all over the world. Did have some nice wallpaper at one point though. The some department store, same same. I can buy much the same shit at Kmart for a fraction the price if I really wanted to. Then a shoe shop, then he walked down a city street in the old part of Edinburgh, again this was lovely, he should do more like that, Edinburgh looks to be a gorgeous city. Launched into the promised cake recipe, which does look real nice I have to say. Never did get to skincare, possibly because he nicked his upper lip shaving (or is that a cold sore, those are horrible fuckers to get rid of, hope for his sake it wasnt that). Otherwise he was exquisitely presented and pretty as ever.... sigh

^IMHO, it seems as if he is running out of content ideas or different angles to make the same topic interesting. One could use this as a case study for future vloggers, writers, etc in regards to keeping up consistency and keeping content fresh.
