So I'm rewatching The X Files streaming (part 2)

[quote] "Christmas Carol," where Scully goes home to spend Christmas with her family, find a little girl that she thinks is the child of her late sister Melissa, but turns out to be Scully's daughter instead. They had to recast the actress playing the daughter and didn't really have the ability to reshoot new scenes with the new actress, and so they kind of had to splice it together. Anderson was incredibly hard on herself because she felt that she didn't really get a chance to bond with the new actress and that it hurt her performance. PS, she won her Emmy for that episode.
I had heard that what hurt Gillian Anderson's performance is that she slapped the original actress across the face when she freaked out while filming the hospital sequence. The show had taken its toll on her and Gillian was under a lot of stress at the time.

[quote] Speaking of Duchovny...it's hard to believe that he was ever considered "hot." He has tiny eyes and a big nose and a monotone voice and over the years he's become more and more gross to look at. It probably doesn't help that he's been married to the cunty Tea Leoni; it must be pretty hard to live with that snotty bitch.
I actually found Duchovny very hot. I loved his unique looks. The fact that he's married to Tea Leoni is a big turnoff though.

When I watched the X-Files revival I hardly recognized Gillian Anderson. It looked like she had some major work done to her face.

I always thought that Dana Scully was overdressed for her job. Even when she was rushing over to meet Mulder at a crime scene she'd show up in her power suit, heels and that long coat. I think an actual FBI agent would have just thrown on a pair of jeans.

R2 Duchovny showed penis in an early film he had done.

Classic show

I have the complete series on blu-ray and the book which has all the files from the show

I'm so glad Gillian won a Golden Globe. She deserved it.

Her career seems to have taken off while Duchovny's took a nosedive.

Duchovny was a total diva to work with.

Where is this streaming? I suddenly need to rewatch the MOW episodes, they were fun. The mytharc about UFOs was tedious, and I was so fed up with the reveal that Fox was not abducted by a UFO made me give up on the show at that time. Stopped watching after that.

I preferred the 'Monster of the Week' episodes. Many of those episodes were some of the best things I've ever seen on tv, to this day. The UFO arc was so long and drawn-out I had trouble remembering half of the storyline.

I, in contrast, loved the UFO episodes and have the boxed set of those 31 episodes on DVD, which I haven't seen in a long time.
One of these days I'm going to pull them out and give them another look - providing I also pull out my DVD or blue-ray player.

R12 Hulu. I’m watching it right now myself. IMO, it doesn’t exactly hold up. For every brilliant episode, there seems to be about 2-3 duds.

I agree that the Monster of the Week episodes are superior. The crazy this is that if this were made nowadays, it would have had only 10 episodes a season and they would have all been mytharc.

R1 I heard about that but could never find out the name of the original actress, only the one who replaced her.

One of my favorite episodes was "The Host" about the Flukeman. Truly frightened me as a kid.

I loved this show so much when it was on. I thought DD was hot and sexy up to that Californication era where he just became gross. But my main man was hot daddy Skinner!!!! The first “slash fiction” I ever read was about Skinner fucking Krycek.

R19 There was a great episode where he stripped down to his underpants.

R20 I think it was the season finale of season 2 "Anasazi." Mulder is in bed in his undies and the camera is eye level with his bulge.

Oops, you meant SKinner. I'll tell you when I get to it.

Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose just may be my favorite episode of any tv show ever.

In France it's being broadcast on RTL9 every day, we are at the 3rd season. I was a teenager the first time it was on TV, I had the collectible cards, and even the video game, 5 or 7 cd to complete the game, I saved at some point just before being killed, a bit difficult to go past that...

I forgot that they had some futur star in the cast, Ryan Goslin, Ryan Reynolds, they look so young! and Ryan Reynolds character died a bit too fast...
