' A torti... good pick. We lost our beloved 17 yr old girl last year. She was a rescue too. Smart as a whip, so much personality, she charmed everyone who met her although I must admit it took her a few months to settle in. She was a street cat and was starving when we took her in and I think her hormones were all out of whack. Once she felt better though, we couldn’t have asked for a more affectionate and funny companion. We called her Turtle, not because she was a torti, but after the little girl in the book “The Bean Trees”. She was so tired of being in the SPCA and when I picked her her up out of the kennel she wrapped her little paws around my neck and wouldn’t let go like the little kid in the book..
