The Gays and Tennis: Part 68 wrapping up the AO and onto the post-AO swing

Osaka is now a 4-time slam winner: 2018 USO 2019 AO 2020 USO 2021 AO
Djokovic vs. Medvedev for the men's title.
Next week's tournaments are ready to go with events in Adelaide for the ladies and Cordoba, Montpellier and Singapore for the men
|by Anonymous||reply 264||10 hours ago|
How the hell is Ashleigh Fucking Barty still ranked number one? Osaka, the holder of two Slams, is still only second and Barty, who hasn't won anything of note in two years, is still the top ranked player in the world?
|by Anonymous||reply 1||02/20/2021|
R1 it is annoying but Barty still has her 2019 points on due to the pandemic. I agree it's a travesty that she has many more weeks at #1 than Osaka or Venus. Barty is a decent player but not an all-time great
|by Anonymous||reply 2||02/20/2021|
match between osaka and brady was NOT of the highest quality.... way too streaky from both players....
like to see osaka do well on the clay and the grass next.....
|by Anonymous||reply 4||02/20/2021|
R4 the wind was a factor too.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||02/20/2021|
Will Swiatek's ranking plunge when she doesn't defend her RG title in June? I guess 90% of her points are from her fluke RG run.
|by Anonymous||reply 6||02/20/2021|
If he wasn't such an ass, Medvedev could almost be cute.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||02/20/2021|
Finally saw some of the Granny vs Bridge Troll match. Granny Vee seems a little thicker and more full figured compared to her former, lean self. Is Granny pregnant? Is Great Auntie Ree about to become Auntie Ree Ree?
|by Anonymous||reply 9||02/20/2021|
I think Medvedev is cute, and I like his whole enfant-terrible persona. Med for the win!
|by Anonymous||reply 10||02/20/2021|
Bianca's on the fritz again
|by Anonymous||reply 11||02/20/2021|
It's the way Andreescu plays. Check her scores all week long at the tournament she played after losing at the AO. She kept going long 3 setters. Her body isn't ready for all those marathons
|by Anonymous||reply 12||02/20/2021|
Medvedev isn't bad looking but he's way too skinny, I hate the mole on his face and he's an asshole
|by Anonymous||reply 13||02/20/2021|
Aren't persistent injuries sometimes a sign of PED use? Just wonderin', is all.....
|by Anonymous||reply 14||02/20/2021|
[quote] Bianca's on the fritz again
Is Pliskbot? If any of my circuits or gears will help, I'll gladly donate them.
|by Anonymous||reply 15||02/20/2021|
R6 By that time Swiatek will be a solid top 10. She is one of the best players on the circuit and one with the highest potential.
And if she holds her nerves at Roland Garros she'll get a deep run because at her best she is probably the best claycourter out there.
She is not Ostapenko
|by Anonymous||reply 17||02/20/2021|
Hopefully Bianca's problems won't be serious. She was out of the circuit for too long and she is playing most of her matches in long three sets on not the best weather conditions.
She needs time to be competitive again
|by Anonymous||reply 18||02/20/2021|
Is this where we talk about post-AO swing?
|by Anonymous||reply 19||02/20/2021|
Daniil team or Nole team?
|by Anonymous||reply 20||02/20/2021|
Medvedev's cool. He's intelligent, thoughtful, his interviews are interesting and often funny and he's one hell of a player. I don't find him attractive at all but there's something about him. He just seems like a nice bloke.
Maybe I should just shut my fuck up.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||02/20/2021|
The umpire in the women's final is a large girl.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||02/20/2021|
Medvedev has quite the 'fivehead' because of his receding hairline. I hope he wins though
Despite playing only 1 match, Benoit Paire hit most double faults of all male players at the AO (23)
|by Anonymous||reply 23||02/20/2021|
Is Barty a lez? Did Sam Stosur ever come out or is she still pretending to be straight? Is it the water in Oz that all the major Aussie women except Yvonne Gollagong have been gay? Turnbull, Stosur, Barty, Court and even the imported Aussies like Hanna Mandlikova, every single one a rug muncher.
|by Anonymous||reply 24||02/20/2021|
Stosur is married (with a woman) and they have a baby, so no, she is not pretending to be straight (in fact she never pretended to be straight).
And no, surprisingly Barty is not a lesbian, the same with Brady.
Not all players on the wta are lesbians, the same not all atp players are straight

Hopefully it will have a positive effect.
Kecmanovic was supposed to be a big thing but he is not progressing at the right pace
|by Anonymous||reply 29||02/20/2021|
R6 to be fair, Swiatek did reach the AO rd16 and lost to Halep in 3 sets. I don't think she's a fluke.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||02/20/2021|
Krejčíkova/Ram won the Mixed Double title
|by Anonymous||reply 31||02/20/2021|
Yum, Margaret Court! Now that's a Court I'd love to play with, I mean, play on and roll around on.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||02/20/2021|
R30 She is one of the most talented players out there and she can play on any surface (she was Wimbledon junior champion).
And of course her RG run was not a fluke, it was one of the more dominant performances ever and she crushed Halep and Kenin in her way to the title
|by Anonymous||reply 33||02/20/2021|
The women's final was not a pretty match. Very few decent rallies, most points were like 3-5 shots, and more ended with UEs than winners (excepting serve winners). It was a bit of a bash-fest. But give Naomi credit, she did it better.
Med is uncanny with his shots like young Rafa. His defense is incredible and he manufactures winners out of nothing. I don't know if he's on PEDs or anything else, but his play is crazy good. He could give Novak serious fight. Med Team.

Osaka's on a 21-match winning streak and Chrissie Evert said it's because she has a boyfriend now (rapper YBN Cordae)
|by Anonymous||reply 38||02/20/2021|
Leave it to Chrissie to ascribe it to the peen.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||02/20/2021|
Osaka's career has been so fascinating and odd. She has just 7 titles with 4 of them being slams.
2018 Indian Wells def. Kasatskina 6-3 6-2
2018 USO def. Serena 6-2 6-4
2019 AO def. Kvitova 7-6(2) 5-7 6-4

2016 Tokyo lost to Wozniacki 5-7 3-6
2018 Tokyo lost to Ka. Pliskova 4-6 4-6

|by Anonymous||reply 43||02/20/2021|
Osaka has been with her boyfriend for 2+ years. He was at her 2019 matches.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||02/20/2021|
The women's final was dull.
|by Anonymous||reply 45||02/20/2021|
R41 The options are limited for virile, red-blooded men who want to enjoy relations with heterosexual female tennis players. Thank God Chrissie is there to do her part!
|by Anonymous||reply 46||02/20/2021|
So I’m hoping for a good match tonight - no matter what I hope it’s close - dare we hope for 5 sets? Tits Out has never lost an AO final and is going for his 3rd consecutive. But Medvedev is on a streak and hasn’t lost to a top 10 player in months. I think he’ll put up a good fight at the very least. Fingers crossed it’s a good one.
In any case I need to get back to some normal sleep patterns...
|by Anonymous||reply 47||02/20/2021|
Wendy at R42, when you and Margaret do it on her Court, do you use protection?
Oh by "do it" I meant "read the Bible", not what you were wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin', dear fat Wends.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||02/20/2021|
I want Medvedev to win but think Djokovic might take it, unless his "injury" reappears.
|by Anonymous||reply 49||02/20/2021|
I want Medvedev too. OK — here we go guys! I’m excited for this.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||02/20/2021|
hate watching this
jerk vs. jerk
but I'll go for the jerk who doesn't have a slam yet. SO SICK of Djokovic
at least it's not another nauseating Djokovic vs. Nadal final
|by Anonymous||reply 51||02/20/2021|
I say this every slam but why the fuck does espn value Fowler so much? Why is he always part of the commentary team for the most important matches? I really don't understand his appeal. He's not a former player, arrogantly often interrupts and even argues with former pro players and just enjoys hearing himself speak. There's no reason for him to be there
|by Anonymous||reply 52||02/20/2021|
Seems like even the Serbian fans want Medvedev to win this.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||02/20/2021|

What was the deal with suave and sexy ginger daddy Cames Jourier during his playing days? From reading Armistead Maupin during the changeover to gushing about Stefan Edberg and saying: "You know how I feel about Eddie. I'd have his love child if I could."
Was he just being a homotease or was he trying to slowly test the waters and inch his way out of the closet?
|by Anonymous||reply 59||02/20/2021|
Djokovic 7-5 6-2
Medvedev getting unnerved
really 1 sided now. I think Medvedev has been too defensive, playing very far back. Djokovic has cleaned up his game from the first set and is just dictating play.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||02/21/2021|
disaster now from Medvedev
|by Anonymous||reply 61||02/21/2021|
Medvedev self-destructing. Bit embarrassing atm.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||02/21/2021|
who would have thought Fritz would end up giving Djokovic his toughest match? Then Zverev/Raonic tied for second
|by Anonymous||reply 63||02/21/2021|
Djokovic is still the most dominant hardcourt player. Thiem couldn't get it done last year AO though he was close and then benefitted at the USO from Djokovic's dq and Nadal/Federer absence. Now Medvedev is not looking like a top 20 player.
I guess #NextGen is still going to be confined to winning Masters which is good but not great.
|by Anonymous||reply 64||02/21/2021|
R52... i so so hear you about chris FOUL-er!... why is he there at all? granted, it's ESPN and he's ESPN employee, but still can't they just have chris mckendry and the former players as commentators?... he sucks and is a self absorbed ass... a few days they actually had him talking about a match and his thoughts on it, like he is SOME KIND OF tennis expert and should be solely listened to about anything?! ridiculous!....
then again, i guess it's not like he can turn down a assignment and he's getting paid so there you have it...
|by Anonymous||reply 65||02/21/2021|

|by Anonymous||reply 66||02/21/2021|
Like Brady last night, Med could really benefit from some coaching here.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||02/21/2021|
I really don't get why they don't allow coaching in GS tennis. Every other major sport allows coaching.
|by Anonymous||reply 68||02/21/2021|
ah yes, another mental midget in medvedev....
can't wait for the french when rafa wins again outslugging, outlasting guys young enough to be his sons on slow red clay in 3 out of 5 sets!....
meanwhile what a miraculous recovery of novak from all his injuries, running down balls left and right, sliding to the corners and so on!...
IF medvedev had won that 1st set, i was so waiting for the "injury" timeout from novak....
|by Anonymous||reply 69||02/21/2021|
Halep, Rafa and Serena all claimed phantom injuries before and during the tournament. It's a tale as old as time.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||02/21/2021|
Medvedev shat his pants at 5-6 in the first and never figured out how to wipe his ass clean the rest of the match
|by Anonymous||reply 71||02/21/2021|
What a great last overhead behind the back shot. Joker is an obnoxious punk but he's fucking talented. He made Med look like a club player.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||02/21/2021|
what a miserable final
men's tennis still sucks hard and not the good kind of sucking
#NextGen are mental midgets
Djokovic and Nadal don't seem like they're going to stop dominating the slams anytime soon
|by Anonymous||reply 73||02/21/2021|
Well that was...disappointing. Novaxx played superbly and smartly and MEHdvedev played sloppy and loose. So anticlimactic. When will #nextgen step up already? Well at least I get to go to sleep earlier than I thought. Was really hoping for a great match and now the long long break before the FO. 🥲
Are there any tourneys between now and FO that have will have top 10 players?
Enjoyed doing the AO with you guys. Let’s keep the conversation going.
|by Anonymous||reply 74||02/21/2021|
Yikes, did the Australian Open only let in COVID-denying anti-vaxxers? This poor woman is getting booed left and right for mentioning vaccines and the Victorian government!
|by Anonymous||reply 75||02/21/2021|
Damn, this crowd is incensed. WTF?
|by Anonymous||reply 76||02/21/2021|
[quote] Halep, Rafa and Serena all claimed phantom injuries before and during the tournament. It's a tale as old as time.
Pedal also claimed to be injured before RG last year and it didn't seem to stop him winning his 13th. The Big Three always seem to have excuses ready before every major. And the Next Gen players are fucking useless, pampered cunts.
|by Anonymous||reply 77||02/21/2021|
Joker's wife and kids are probably dreading his return.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||02/21/2021|
R75, most of those booing belong to the Novak cult. Like Novaxx, they’re notoriously antivax and hardly likely to be pro-shutdown Labor voters. And not particularly representative of Australians in general. How do you spell “fascist-adjacent”?
|by Anonymous||reply 79||02/21/2021|
Mens tennis is so dull. Should I check back in 3 or 4 years to see if someone else wins? Unless Djokovic hits another staff member with something to get kicked out.
|by Anonymous||reply 80||02/21/2021|
No use R80. Eight years from now Nadal will still be winning Roland Garros, somehow "magically" out lasting men half his age or a third of his age in grueling five setters on the clay. Novaxx will similarly somehow outrun and outlast much younger men and win the AO for the 15th time.
Judy Murray will still be pleasuring herself with Andy's Wimbledon trophy and insisting that her lover, I mean, son was part of a Big 4 of tennis as though Misery Spacey is even worthy of being in the same room as Novaxxx, Gramps Hissy Fit and Pedal.
|by Anonymous||reply 81||02/21/2021|
[quote]Are there any tourneys between now and FO that have will have top 10 players?
I think Indian Wells has been postponed, but usually there's the Miami, Monte Carlo and Madrid Open before Roland Garros (oh and Rome). The Rotterdam tournament starts a week from now and also has a strong field.
|by Anonymous||reply 82||02/21/2021|
Between the craziness of the wta and the predictability of the atp there's a middle area that would make this sport way more interesting.
Big faliure of Medvedev in the final
|by Anonymous||reply 83||02/21/2021|
Singapore draw is totally lackluster. Montpeliier looks lie a masters 1000 in comparission.
Felix withdraw which is a pity because it was a great opportunity to win his first title
|by Anonymous||reply 84||02/21/2021|
Thiem is the only male player on the planet under the age of 33 to have won a Grand Slam.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||02/21/2021|
And most next gen players are over the age any of the big 3 won their first GS (some of them way over)
|by Anonymous||reply 86||02/21/2021|
Thiem only won it because Djokovic got defaulted. That final between him and Zverev was embarrassingly bad.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||02/21/2021|
Djokovic was not going to win the US Open. He was hysterical just because he was losing the first set againts Carreño.
And Thiem played that bad because he had a problem with dealing he was the favourite, he played very well till that final
|by Anonymous||reply 88||02/21/2021|
R88, but what doesn't upset him? One bad set doesn't mean you're not going to win the whole thing. Djokovic dropped a number of sets this time around.
|by Anonymous||reply 89||02/21/2021|
But generally he reserves the raquet smashing for the times the match gets complicated. Against Carreño he didn't even lost the first set.
He was playing pretty bad and he knew he was not going to win (and it's quite easy to know that his level in US Open rarely matches his level in Australia, he has less US Open titles than Nadal)
|by Anonymous||reply 90||02/21/2021|
Will Gramps kill himself when Nadal and perhaps Novaxxxx overtake him in the Slam tally? Gramps seems very invested in the legend that the media have built around him and seems to believe his own hype.
|by Anonymous||reply 91||02/21/2021|
novak prepared that injury for Wawrinka
|by Anonymous||reply 92||02/21/2021|
What is it with DL (like R80) & their irrational hatred of the Big 3 and hanging their hopes on these younger guys who clearly don't have what it takes & don't deserve to win?
If you think men's tennis is dull because the Big 3, who clearly are the best in history, keep winning then maybe you shouldn't watch.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||02/21/2021|
R75 The crowd was full of Serbians.
Serbians = assholes
|by Anonymous||reply 94||02/21/2021|
R52 he bugs the shit out of me too. I suspect he's meant to be the polished voice among the commentators. Johnny Mac is fun and has a lot of personal experiences to share but he can just yap and yap if someone isn't there to reel him in, his brother is no better and just a cringey cornball of annoying tics "the droppa" which I assume he dropped a few years ago after feedback though it will slip out or used if he's feeling cheeky. Then you have prissy, dainty Clffie Drysdale and the spastic motor mouth of Brad Gilbert and irritating Help coach talking about his pupil during a men's match. I'm guessing we are slapped with Fowler because he actually speaks in measured complete sentences and you can actually make out the words.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||02/21/2021|
R93 I dont. I mainly watch women's tennis. More entertaining and not wasting time on predictable outcomes with the mens tournament.
|by Anonymous||reply 96||02/21/2021|
R95 So why were you bitching?
|by Anonymous||reply 97||02/21/2021|
If Novak ever ties Roger's GS tally, Mirka better have a safe room to hide in.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||02/21/2021|
[quote] Mirka better have a safe room to hide in.
The refrigerator is her safe room!
|by Anonymous||reply 99||02/21/2021|
I just hope someone starts beating the big 3 before they decide to retire or end up with career-ending injuries. Until Thiem wins second slam with them in the draw, his USO win will have an asterisk next to it.
The way Medvedev played the final, he probably would have lost to Nadal so he should thank Tsitsipas that he didn't have to face him.
men's tennis is not fun anymore. It needed new young slam winners 7 years ago. It's not a problem having the big 3 in the mix for slams as they're obviously the best ever but it is a very bad look for the tour 2 guys into their mid 30s are outright dominating slams.
1 of the younger guys is going to need to step up this year and stop them at at least 1 of the remaining slams
|by Anonymous||reply 100||02/21/2021|
[quote] If you think men's tennis is dull because the Big 3, who clearly are the best in history, keep winning then maybe you shouldn't watch.
"Best in history" is highly subjective. Even if it were true it does not preclude the possibility of the lack of any competition and the utter predictability of men's tennis making it really dull and tedious. Not to mention the slowing down of surfaces to make all majors the same rallies of baseline attrition over and over again.
|by Anonymous||reply 102||02/21/2021|
Djokovic has 18 singles grand slams now, catching up to Federer's and Nadal's 20.
|by Anonymous||reply 103||02/21/2021|
I find this depiction offensive.
|by Anonymous||reply 104||02/21/2021|
R103 Catching them won't be that easy.
Right now on RG he is clearly behing not only Nadal but Thiem too. He didn't won three GS in a year since 2015 and i doubt he'll win them this year.
His chances depend of the young players, not only to defeat him but to cause him trouble enough to reach tired the final rounds but if nothing changes sooner or later he'll do it becuase the next gen is not a strong one.
Unless Sinner really rise pretty fast i doubt any of the 96-00 generation is mentally strong enough to compete on a final against any big 3 (of course they could lose before reaching the final)
|by Anonymous||reply 105||02/21/2021|
When Roger comes back will he have a protected ranking?
|by Anonymous||reply 106||02/21/2021|
He doesn't need it. The rankings froze last year so he still is number 5
|by Anonymous||reply 107||02/21/2021|
There is no Big 3 in the current game. Fed at fortyish is unlikely to take another GS. At most one more Wimbledon, and that looks iffy. And Nadal at almost 35 looks to be finally succumbing to the beating he's given his body for two decades. I'd peg him for one or two more GS titles. By April Fed will fall to #8 or so unless he has a miraculous resurgence.
|by Anonymous||reply 108||02/21/2021|
I make fun of Misery and his mother here, but I wish he'd get back in form. Despite his moping, I liked his game and off-court he seems like an excellent person.
|by Anonymous||reply 109||02/21/2021|
Form will only carry him so far with those hips and other creaking bones, lamentably.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||02/21/2021|
Misery is done. His body is too broken down now for him to win a big title. If he gets a good draw he could win a couple of rounds in some Challenger event in Scotland.
|by Anonymous||reply 111||02/21/2021|
Maybe Misery could self ID as a woman and demand to play on the WTA tour. He could challenge Osaka, Barty and Serena for Slams.

ANDY MURRAY: NEXT GEN 'NOT PARTICULARLY CLOSE' TO TOPPLING NOVAK DJOKOVIC, RAFAEL NADAL AND FEDERER
Andy Murray is set to make his return to the full ATP tour for the first time this year in Montpellier where he faces world number 83 Egor Gerasimov in the opening round of an ATP 250 event. He was asked to give his thoughts on the Australian Open. The Scot explained how far off he thinks the next generation of tennis stars are to the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
Former British number one Andy Murray does not think the next generation of tennis players are "particularly close" to challenging the likes of Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer for Grand Slam titles....
"I saw before the final Medvedev said something along the lines of Novak having immense pressure on him, which is true but those guys have been at the top of the game. They've been dealing with immense pressure their whole careers and they know how to deal with it and perform at their best level when it matters.

It's worth noting that under 850,000 people watched Wokey-san win her title, so ratings have tanked all over the place. It's hard to know if the schedule change, the uncompelling matches or a combination thereof caused it.

R133 People keep gushing to the big 3 but big 3 don't bring new fans anymore. Atp need new champions and better if they are charismatic.
I'm pretty sure people will love a big 3 member winning a GS if there wasn't just like what happen at every GS. It's totally predictable and boring.
But next gen are more worried about getting new followers on social media. To be honest i wouldn't be surprised if the generation between 96-00 never reign over the atp. If the big 3 keep winning they will probably be replaced by younger players
|by Anonymous||reply 141||02/24/2021|
Federer has reached exactly one GS final since he won the 2018 AO. He can't legitimately still be considered a factor. Thiem's been in four GS finals over the same interim. By 2022 it's likely that we'll see players who were born from '93-'01 dominate. We're already seeing Thiem, Medvedev and Tsitsipas in the top 5, with Rublev and Zverev not far behind. FAA, Shapo and Sinner's games should mature to the point that they're right up there with them by then. Meanwhile Djokovic and Nadal will be closer to 40 than 30, and even they aren't immune to creaking bones and failing synapses even if they're pumped full of PEDs.
|by Anonymous||reply 142||02/24/2021|
R142 I have serious doubts that people like Medvedev or Zverev will have lasting careers, their body types spell serious injury before reaching the 30.
With the exception of Felix, all the hyped players have an age where most great players already won their first GS.
Djokovic and Nadal are great but they are pretty far from their peak and this young players are still unable to challenge them at the best of five sets.
And Roger, well, we'll see if he is a factor or not. He is 39 and he is out of the field for more than a year, i doubt he'll be a factor for a while (with luck he'll be back on track by Wimbledon which will be probably his last chance to win a GS)
|by Anonymous||reply 143||02/24/2021|
I hope you're right about Medvedev and Zverev. I wouldn't lose any sleep over those two plus Djokovic being permanently out of the game.

Adelaide: Swiatek dominates Bencic to win her second singles title.
Singapore: Popryin upsets Cilic to reach the final. I think Cilic is done as a contender for big titles. He seems have hit a wall both game-wise and physically the last 2 years.
|by Anonymous||reply 149||Last Saturday at 1:04 AM|
R148, he would need a very good ("fixed") draw for that to happen. All the big servers capable of outserving him on a good day would need to be in the other side of the draw and Djoko would need to lose early. Djoko has a perfect 3-0 record against him in Wimbledon finals and Gramps could not close him out even with two match points on his own serve in the 2019 final.
I think Gramps Fed's says of winning 7 best of 5 matches in a row are over. If PEDal overtakes him with his 21st Slam win at RG, Gramps will become desperate to claw back into the lead and that will put immense pressure on him.
|by Anonymous||reply 150||Last Saturday at 1:31 AM|
R150 Not that much. Unlike Nadal or Djokovic who are not really real grass court players (without the slow down of the Wimbledon court the story would be very different) Federer is a real grass court player so he is way less vulnerable on the first rounds were the grass is not deteriorated and the court is way faster.
So no, he doesn't need a rigged draw to get deep in the draw if he is healthy and in good form.
His problem is that he seems to have problems keeping the focus on the match, so he plays great for a while and pretty bad after that, and that always means defeat if you face a very good player.
Nadal is having some problems closing tight matches now, something that didn't happened in the past (he used to win all his tight matches but not anymore). Keep focused is more and more difficult when you get older

|by Anonymous||reply 233||Yesterday at 9:28 AM|
R211 That doesn't change anything because obviously i was not talking just about that match. Felix went from outside of top 100 to the top 20 in barely six months, after that his progression stopped and he showed serious mental blocks on big moments and sometimes a bad attitude on court (his match against Shapovalov on the US Open was atrocious and he seemed to not care at all).
What i said is that maybe a less explossive break into the top 20 would be better for him. And frankly i don't think he'll be as big as he was promoted when he appeared, he has the physical and the groundstrokes but he lacks a lot of things right now to be a great player, of course he'll improve, but the fact that he lowered his level in all his seven finals is not a good sgin
