Located at the Dorchester at 110 East 57th Street, the home was appealing to Ms. Collins for its spacious layout and 16 closets.

The main room is nice and bright, but the mirrored wall is awful. The rest of the apartment is kind of gross. It looks like the realtor's photographer used a fisheye lens to add square footage.

Virtually Staged = Photoshop and 3D furniture
So basically we really don't know what the place looked like with her stuff.

Dear Ms. Collins a word of advice, it isn't wise to be photographed in crisp high resolution up close at your time of life. Bit of gauze or maybe Vaseline over camera lens to soften things works wonders.

Unable to sell apartment first time around Ms. Collins did the sensible thing, she called in the gays. Partners in life and real estate business om Postilio and Mickey Conlon were hired on to transform the place and hopefully spruce it up enough so would sell. Ms. Collins by then had long shipped much if not all personal furnishing out of apartment to her other homes.
This all happened back in 2012, and obviously even bringing in power gay realtors didn't work because apartment is still sitting on market.

I never understood why people used to say she was so pretty. Even before Dynasty, that was like her thing. I still dont see it with those sharp features, red lipstick she has been sporting for 50 years. Even her very young picks are nothing special.

3,000 a month HOA fees for that dump?

R7
Here are more pictures from first listing of apartment, and outside shots of building.
The Dorchester is what it is; one of many "modern" buildings that went up in late 1950's through 1960's all over Manhattan. Saving grace is those tell tale in wall AC units that are everywhere in buildings that went up around same period.
Building is located on East 57th between Lexington and Park avenues. Yes, it is close to shopping (Bloomingdale's, etc...) but is sort of "meh" area IMHO. That part of midtown east is popular with shop bottoms and those in the real estate design/decorating trade, and of course you have what once was the "gay midtown" east area from about low 60's down to 50's (the Dorchester isn't that far from 53rd and Third......). Town House bar is just several blocks away at East 58th near Second avenue.

It's really an ugly building, galley kitchen with cheap appliances and AC hanging out the front? I am guessing they probably have very minimal amenity like a pool or rooftop common area. You could really have a nice condo in a new high-rise in most other cities for that price, including LA. Irronicly, everyday I drive they the one that her character from Dynasty lived in. It's actually in LA on Wiltshire Blvd. It's dumpy and boring.

Everyone laughed when I won Lot 43, "Joan Collins Toile de Jouy Headboard" five years ago at auction -- and for a steal at just $320. Can you even imagine?
Now, finally, I will have the perfect place to put it.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 22, 2021 9:26 AM |
r13 how gross, someone paid $320 for a stained headboard. Ew.

I guess she's given up on her Broadway dreams... But no stacked books next to the commode? Fail!
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 23, 2021 2:38 AM |
All of her homes have been pretty shitty, always sparsely decorated, dated. I'm guessing she lives pretty much hand to mouth.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 23, 2021 2:59 AM |
R13: You can tell it's gotten a lot of use.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | February 23, 2021 3:04 AM |
R13 it's filthy with hair grease.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | February 23, 2021 3:06 AM |
How many closets are just for wigs and fur?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 23, 2021 3:13 AM |
The bathrooms are atrocious! Does she have some sort of fetish for seeing herself on the can?
I actually like the rest of the apartment as far as those 1950s apartments go, but not for 2 million bucks or anywhere close to that. If she really wants to sell the place, forget about the gays and the staging, and lower the fucking price.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | February 23, 2021 3:16 AM |
R13, that is beyond disgusting.

The Dorchester is a dark and dreary building.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | February 23, 2021 3:24 AM |
Re said headboard: Percy was on the left; so the big stains are on Joanie's side. This is too gross to let in the house R13; what did you do with it when you bought it?!?!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | February 23, 2021 3:26 AM |
R25
Well it would be wouldn't it? The Dorchester is right in midtown on 57th street surrounded by other tall buildings.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 23, 2021 9:27 AM |
R13 is that a used dog bed?

R19 - How are you, Linda?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 23, 2021 10:22 AM |
Why did her career go down the shitter? She had star billing in The Virgin Queen (1955 film) up there with Bette Davis and Richard Todd. Then not so much. Hand to mouth is probably right R19. But, hey, she's 87 so perhaps she's entitled to slow down a bit.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | February 23, 2021 3:21 PM |
The difference is style is amazing. Sophia is still tits-away. Joan is still playing the ingenue at 87.

r31 Awe I have always found Joan to be exquiste and divine in her glamorous dressing and presentation. The worlds best actress or most iconic movie star.No.But she always makes 1000% effort with her appearance and looks fantastic for it.
