Sweden's hot prince Carl Philip to become a father for the third time
by Anonymous | reply 200 | March 25, 2021 5:33 AM |
[quote] On 19 April 2016, Sofia gave birth to their first child, Prince Alexander, Duke of Södermanland. Their second child, Prince Gabriel, Duke of Dalarna, was born on 31 August 2017.
Holy shit, having babies within such a short time must have strained poor Sofia's poosey a lot.

I can't stop fucking him!

R5 I couldn’t either. Lucky bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 11, 2020 11:36 AM |
Has anyone asked Princess Sofia if she’s ok?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 11, 2020 11:41 AM |
The tiara she wore at the wedding was rather meh, it made no sense. The wedding gown was rather an ersatz, not to say a knock-off of Kate Middleton's exquisite dress.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 11, 2020 11:45 AM |
I agree R8.
I think her tiara was supposed to match his sash of the Royal Order of the Seraphim, but to me it looked a bit silly on her head. Was out of proportion. It's not as if the Swedish royal family are short of tiaras either!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 11, 2020 11:49 AM |
I’m suddenly hungry for some Swedish sausage.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 11, 2020 11:53 AM |
The gown's train was ridiculously long. Wiithout the emeralds, the tiara would've looked much more unostentatious, which in turn would've looked much nicer.
I understand the tiara was purchased for Sofia, it's not an item with a special history like the cameo tiara Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria wore at their weddings.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 11, 2020 11:56 AM |
The tiara (referred to as Värmland Tiara since her owner is the Duchess of Värmland thanks to her husband) got altered with the emeralds being replaced in favour of pearls. It looks so much better now imho.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 11, 2020 12:04 PM |
Thank you for all the tiara information. I prefer the pearl option too. I'm still not sure the style suits her though.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 11, 2020 3:38 PM |
The tiara came delivered with the ability to switch out the stones, there are four settings:
1. Diamond
2. Pearl
3. Turquoise
4. Emerald
or, she can leave the motifs without any stone on top. It’s a very versatile tiara and perfect for matching with other necklaces and earrings.
Why are we comparing her dress to that boring dress Kate Middleton wore? Is Kate the only woman in the world who ever wore a wedding dress with sleeves? My mothers wedding dress in 1952 looked very much like Kate’s with the tight lace sleeves.
One thing the Scandinavians do well is weddings. They have them later in the day and wear white tie and tiaras. Other royal families, including the British, do daywear with hats and pearls. It’s excruciatingly boring.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 11, 2020 4:37 PM |
R14, those weddings gowns with sleeves got fashinable again due to Kate Middleton's lovely dress. Sofia's dress was nothing but a knock-off - a knock-off with a stupidly long train, to be precise. Kate's dress got it right when it comes to the train.
[quote] Other royal families, including the British, do daywear with hats and pearls. It’s excruciatingly boring.
Lol, wut? FYI:
The Queen (back then Princess Elisabeth) wore a tiara. Margaret wore a tiara. Anne wore a tiara. Diana wore a tiara. Fergie wore a tiara. Sophie wore a tiara. Zara wore a tiara. Kate wore a tiara. Meghan wore a tiara. Eugenie wore a tiara. Beatrice wore a tiara.
But I've got to agree when it comes to the Värmland Tiara - it's pretty versatile which is an asset. The emerald setting looks kind of weird, though.

Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish royal weddings are always white tie with tiaras and orders.
British, Dutch, Spanish, Belgian, Monagesque, Luxembourgish, and Lichtensteiner weddings are always daywear with hats and pearls and morning suits. A few exceptions, Prince Edward had his wedding a little later in the day and asked for 3/4 length dresses with no hats. The guests complied....except for The Queen and The Queen Mother who declined the directive and wore their usual hats and pearls.

The British Royal Family takes the lion's share of the publicity all the time. Why don't the Swedish, Dutch and Norwegian royal families have a higher profile? For the most part, they are all respectable, good-looking and generally scandal-free. And Prince Carl-Philip is so damn good-looking. I would think that just for his looks alone, he would be featured in the media more often, but there are relatively few photos of him or anyone else from the Scandinavian royal houses featured in traditional or social media.

Totally practical solution to have interchangeable gems for a tiara. The Queen does for one of hers, but then again she has got a lot of choice too. Catherine is gonna have a field day when she gets her hands on the good stuff.

By the way, Carl-Philip's title is HKH Prince Carl-Philip, Duke of Värmland
"HKH" means "His Royal Highness," but in Swedish it translates to: Hans Kungliga Höghet
In Danish it's: Hans kongelige højhed
In Norwegian, it's: Hans kongelige høyhet

My husband is Swedish and we lived in Stockholm for over a decade before we moved to Canada (where I'm from). For the most part, the monarchy in Sweden is a low key thing. The King is not particularly popular (but not unpopular either) he's seen a dull and kind of stupid. He cheated on his wife numerous times. Queen Silvia (despite her unfortunate plastic surgery) is highly popular and is the major reason the monarchy survived during the 70s and 80s. Crown Princess Victoria is massively popular and probably really the only reason the institution will continue for the foreseeable future.
The only gossip about Prince Carl Philip I've heard that when he was a student at Enskilda Gymnasiet (a private high school in Stockholm), he was involved in something similar to a hazing ring. Allegedly he part took in a "soggy biscuit" thing: where a group of a guys cum onto a cookie and the last person to do cum must eat the cookie.
My husband works in medical research and one thing he heard from a source was about Prince Daniel. Allegedly Prince Daniel is impotent, a common side effect of the kidney transplant he had. Shortly before this operations, he allegedly had some of his sperm 'put on ice' so that Victoria could get pregnant through IVF. It's also a fairly open secret Victoria had a hard time getting pregnant due her struggles with an eating disorder when she was young.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | December 13, 2020 8:12 PM |
Prince Daniel reminds me of Dieter from SNL's Sprockets.

Carl Philip is hot.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | December 13, 2020 8:40 PM |
R57 Yes, Daniel is handsome. Totally the 'bring home to mom' type. Carl Philip is "stick it in any hole' hot.
R55 Yeah I'm pretty sure Victoria had IVF for Estelle. She put on a noticeable amount of weight (particularly in her ass and face) for several months before it was announced she was pregnant....common in early IVF treatment.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | December 13, 2020 8:43 PM |
R55, can you explain to me what makes Silvia so popular with the Swedish people? To me she appears to be friendly but distant to people, not exactly the type of personality that opens peoples hearts. But then again, I barely know or have seen much of her.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | December 13, 2020 9:11 PM |
Silvia doesn’t seem anywhere near as charming as her neighbor Queen Sonja or Norway. She always looks great though, I have to say that. She never looks overburdened with her jewels.

R59 Swedes are actually a fairly reserved people (at least that was my impression when I was living there) and so I think it's her own quiet nature that makes her popular. She's also credited with modernizing the monarchy in Sweden, making it more accessible, campaigning more charitable causes and really she is kind of the power behind the throne. There is also a sense of sympathy for her because everyone knows her husband has screwed around on her endlessly. Victoria is the star of the family though, and nothing like her parents oddly enough. She is very down to earth, very empathetic, very charismatic and is huge supporter of LGBTQ+ rights.
R61 Both Oscar and Estelle are likely "Popsicle babies." Prince Daniel's operation typically leaves male with low or no sperm count and erectile dysfunction.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | December 13, 2020 10:26 PM |
I think the two princely twins that Princess Charlene bore to Albert II of Monaco are popsicles as well. What are the odds that a few years into a supposedly loveless marriage she pulls off an heir AND a spare in the same push? I think she had help.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | December 13, 2020 10:45 PM |
Younger men who undergo kidney transplants are typically told to 'put their swimmers on ice' if they want to father children. It's not impossible to get a woman pregnant after a transplant but typically both the transplant and the medications you take drastically decrease sperm count and the health of the sperm you do still produce.
Transplants do leave many men limp for the rest of their lives but not always. Younger men tend to regain the ability to get hard though a lot of transplant patients say there is a very noticible decrease in sensation. Viagra is a safe alternative for men who've had a transplant.
I highly doubt Daniel has gone 11 years with out giving Victoria some wood. They seem very happily married.

Victoria has a case of Man Voice, not sure if she’s a heavy smoker like Aunt Birgitta but her voice is very deep. She also seems completely no-nonsense yet likeable. She’ll make a great queen.

I gotta say that Swedish-German-Portugese gene pool created the best looking royal family I can imagine. There is usually at least one bull biter in the family. But looks wise this family really has it all. And they all seem to have their act together more or less, but certainly compared to other prominently featured royal families.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | December 13, 2020 11:51 PM |
R78 I don't think Daniel's that type at all. He's totally in love with her, it was very evident on their wedding day. I believe they are the only major royal couple in a Europe with a totally happy marriage.
In Denmark: Frederik has screwed around on Mary a few times. Freddy's true love was Katja Storkholm and it's alleged he is the father of her son. Mary allegedly had an affair with former
In Norway: Rumours have circulated for years that Mette-Marit carried on an affair with a Norwegian business man for a couple years. There were even rumours a few years back that a separation as going to be announced.
UK: Allegedly William fucked one of Kate's best friends when Kate was pregnant with Louis.

R57 and R58, Prince Daniel is the most Swedish looking Swede who ever Sweded. I don’t mean he’s unattractive; he just looks ultra-Swedish. He’d be much better looking without those owlish glasses. Assuming he doesn’t want contacts, can’t he get a more masculine pair? Steel-rimmed or rimless?

R82 and R82 a Swedish man who looks very Swedish...who would have thunk. I do agree about the hair though, it's too gelled, although Carl Philip over gels his too.
R79 As Royal Families go, the Swedish royals are remarkably normal comparatively. That is probably down to Queen Silvia who by all accounts was a hands on mother but also fairly strict didn't let her kids get away with much when they were young (except for Princess Madeline who is allegedly her favourite).
by Anonymous | reply 84 | December 14, 2020 3:48 AM |
Princess Madeleine is absolutely beautiful. Even in this getup.
by Anonymous | reply 85 | December 14, 2020 3:59 AM |
Carl Philip is hot as hell but apparently dumb as rocks and very shy.
He is his father's favourite and the King has always harboured resentment that Carl Philip's position as heir to the throne was retroactively taken away from him just a few months after his birth. In reality, making Victoria the heir is probably what has ensured the monarchy's survive for at least the next forty years or so.
Queen Silvia was dead set against his marrying Sofia due to her past. The King was more sympathetic but still hesitant. It was Victoria who brought their parents around, they had been dead set against her marrying Daniel so she was eager to help her brother whom she is close to. I've also heard a story, but this was more tabloid trash, that Silvia was paranoid about Carl Philip being gay when he was a teenager.

R41. See below for useful Faroese phrases; however 'His Royal Highness' isn't one of them.
The national language language of the Faroe Islands is Faroese. The Faroese language is a Germanic language which is descended from Old Norse. Danish is the official second language.
Faroese is similar in grammar to Icelandic and Old Norse, but closer in pronunciation to Norwegian. In the twentieth century Faroese became the official language and, because the Faroe Islands are a self-governing territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, Danish is taught in Faroese schools.

Prince Daniel looks overwhelmingly miserable. Is it because he can't get it up?
by Anonymous | reply 99 | December 14, 2020 11:58 AM |
I believe Mette Marit and Haakon have mended their marriage, there’s no trace of frostiness in any of their public photos now. Mette Marit is essentially dying, and most likely will not live to see her husband (or daughter) succeed to the Norwegian throne due to her irreversible pulmonary disease. King Harald, like cousins Queen Margrethe II and Queen Elizabeth II, believes strongly in his commitment to his country and to oath he took, so much so that he had a mini-coronation (without a crowning) to show how seriously he took the religious aspect of his reign. He will never abdicate, even with his poor health.
by Anonymous | reply 100 | December 14, 2020 12:23 PM |
R99 I don't he's actually miserable. I think he's just a serious person by nature and he's admitted over the years that he find the public side of royal life to be challenging, although he does a great job at it. I actually think Daniel is probably the best 'royal consort' in Europe. He has his own interests which he pursues but he seems fine with taking a backseat to Victoria because she is meant to be the star of the show.
R100 It's very sad about Mette-Marit but I do think she will survive long enough to become Queen. King Harold is not in good shape. The last public images of him, he has what I refer to as 'death face' that sunken, waxy look some people (particularly with any kind of heart condition) get near to the end.

I think he makes a lucrative living in finance, because he wasn’t willing to give up his nationality and profession for a princely title. I think he’s handsome, a little stuffed looking in his tuxedos but fine otherwise.
by Anonymous | reply 112 | December 20, 2020 12:47 AM |
Christopher's mother was allegedly a side piece of Prince Charles during his marriage to Diana. And I've seen him in swim trunks. He should wear less revealing clothes. He was offered a title but turned it down because it would have meant giving up his US citizenship and his business interests. His children get titles, but no HRH because they are not on the payroll.
by Anonymous | reply 113 | December 20, 2020 3:01 PM |
Last year, King Carl Gustav revoked 'HRH' status from all his grandchildren except for Victoria's children who are in the direct line of succession. While the palace claimed this had always been the plan (if this were the case, why give your grandchildren titles in the first place), it was more likely the result of being seen to slim down the monarchy. In recent years, there has been growing political scrutiny of the amount of taxpayers money used to fund the royal family's official duties. Right now, anyone with an HRH is entitled to perform public duties and receive funding for it. The King appears to be adopting the growing trend in other European monarchies by limiting the branch of royals eligible to perform official duties: The monarch, their spouse, their children, and the children of their direct heir.
Speaking of Christopher and Princess Madeleine, there have been growing calls in the Sweden to take away Madeleline's HRH and public funding as she no longer lives in Sweden and only performs a scattering of duties. Madeleine is allegedly Queen Silvia's favourite child and is the most spoiled out of the king and queen's three children. Allegedly she and Victoria also have a bit of a rocky relationship with Madeleine being very competitive (or at least when they were younger) with Victoria. It's believed that Madeleine is the most academically accomplished of the three and the only one to finish university.

Madeleine is also a Nordic beauty, almost Barbie-esque. Victoria has a regality to herself though, Madeleine seems like the type one would get tired of talking to after a while. Very frauey.
by Anonymous | reply 116 | December 20, 2020 6:04 PM |
Anyway, I think Madeleine wants to be a lifestyle brand. For that to happen the king might release her from her HRH (but still keep her a princess, as some of his sisters are styled). But yeah, her cousin-in-law Princess Marie Chantal of Greece is doing well with that sort of thing, so why not.
by Anonymous | reply 117 | December 20, 2020 6:06 PM |
Madeleine has always been seen as something of a spoiled brat in Sweden. Someone who wants all the luxuries of royal life, but none of the responsibility. I think marriage has changed her, though and she doesn't desire the spotlight in the same way she did. I get the sense she was jealous of her sister's position, but probably no longer feels that way.
Victoria is less traditionally glamours and not as intellectual, but she is much more down to earth and empathetic. I think her choice of Daniel as a partner speaks volumes of who she is as a person.

I don't see the point of royalty that's not either glamorous or at least remote and regal. I wouldn't describe QEII as glamorous in the Hollywood sense (thank God), but she was and remains a rather remote and regal figure. There's something wrong with modern people that they can't appreciate that.

I don’t love the Cameo tiara either, simply because the materials aren’t that precious. But it’s a set from the court of Napoleon Bonaparte, so it’s very historical. What I like about it is that it looks like a crown, so it gives a regality to the wearer. I don’t believe the other Swedish princesses have access to it anymore like they used to, I think now it’s just The Queen and The Crown Princess.
I’m not sure what the Swedish court has in mind for enthronement of Victoria, but I’m assuming it will be similiar to her father where she take an oath in the Knight’s Hall while the royal regalia is displayed on cushions next to her, the ermine mantle draped on the silver throne. If that’s the case, then the Cameo (if worn correctly) will be the next best thing to her wearing a crown. Perhaps she’ll wear the traditional long black velvet gown of the Swedish court, with the chains of The Seraphim and The Polar Star on her shoulders.

R127 The Royal Court is not going to come right out and say "yes, Mette-Marit screwed around." The rumour is that their marriage started falling apart because MM was work shy and hated the confines of royal life. Haakon, who fought tooth and nail to marry her, was less than sympathetic. Allegedly her affair was was with a wealthy businessman who could keep in her in a lifestyle she enjoyed but with none of the responsibility. It's believed that Haakon's parents, who never really liked MM, pushed for a quick divorce to give the people time to get used to a single Crown Prince before he became King. Anyways, they worked it out.

R131, Haakon is not as pretty as Carl Phillip, but he's goofy-handsome, which has its own appeal. He has a very nice body, as your photo shows. He's taller than CP as well, which counts for a lot in my book. Too bad his chest is hairless.

Mette Marit might have been costing the Royal House quite a few Euros too, as she has a taste for Valentino. Truth is, she picks hideous silhouettes. She doesn’t have the royal look down pat like Crown Princess Mary or Crown Princess Victoria do. She’s Markle-esque in that regard.
I didn’t know she was work-shy though. I used to follow her Twitter and she seemed very involved in world youth and HIV causes.

R137 That's something I've wondered about Mette Marit. For someone who has so many gay friends, she is a terrible dresser. I would argue Crown Princess Mary is probably the best dressed royal in Europe. Victoria isn't a bad dresser at all, but she can be hit or miss. She is more of an outdoorsy person.
As for Mette Marit's work ethic, she is involved in a lot of charitable causes but she was never a hard worker. For much of her life in the royal family she has been criticized for skipping events, "calling in sick" regularly, or taking long holidays aboard. Since her illness was made public, I think attitudes have changed towards her. She also has the tendency to court controversy. Last year there was scandal due to her ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Before that, she took heat because she flew to India to take care of of a gay couple's (I think one was her aide de campe or something) new born surrogate baby because they were initially denied visas. While doesn't sound that serious, surrogacy is illegal in Norway (it's a hot button issue in norway like abortion is in America) and she used her diplomatic immunity to get into India. It was seen as a big conflict of interest.

Yeah but the schmattes she picks are awful. She’s been wearing these awful prints that cover her arms with bell sleeves and button up at the neck like an American protestant fundie sister-wife from a flyover state.
anyway, obviously it was a love match. The King insisted on a love match for himself and held off marrying for ten years until his father King Olav approved it. There was never any question of trying to arrange Haakon with a princess or a noblewoman. I don’t think he’ll remarry when Mette Marit dies, I think he’ll respect his widowership and just put his energy into his work and his children.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | December 22, 2020 2:00 PM |
R141 She's good looking, classic Scandinavian looks. I think part of the appeal was that she was so different from anyone he probably had met before. She was kind of the antithesis of the people he'd expect to be surrounded by and he found that appealing. I think they also have a lot in common in that they're both very politically liberal and they are kind of both "out there" new agey types.
R145 There was no question that Haakon would marry a commoner but MM was not seen as being suitable (she was a single mother with a very wild past) as the future Queen Consort of Norway. Haakon's parents were dead set against the marriage and only agreed because it became clear that was ready to basically bring down the monarchy by openly campaigning for a republic. As for what happens with Haakon after MM passes (which hopefully won't be for some time), I could actually see him get remarried. I don't buy the arguement that remarrying after you first spouse dies somehow "disrespecting" your windowership. If I were MM, I'd want Haakon to find happiness again (hell I'd want the same for my husband too).

I didn’t know Daniel had a kidney transplant. There have been times when he’s looked ill and I wondered what was going on. They make a great couple and the kids are lovely. There were a lot of videos of Estelle when she was younger, a very happy, lively kid. I know it’s fun to make jokes about Oskar being a serial killer but I think he’s very sweet.
I saw clips of Madeleine’s wedding on YouTube and Chris had tears in his eyes. Carl Philippe and Sofia, okay whatever. She is popular there so that is working out okay.
It’s funny, whenever I think of the SRF, I completely forget that the king is still alive, there’s so much focus on the next generation.
by Anonymous | reply 148 | December 22, 2020 6:09 PM |
R141 Yeah, I get what you’re saying. But she seems like the girl you fuck around with, not bring home to mother. Apart from her wild past, she always manages to get herself in trouble. She went through a period of celeb schmoozing followed by the surrogacy scandal and an alleged affair. Last year at this time, she was apologizing for having a friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, claiming she didn’t know the depth of his crimes. Sure, Jan.
Between Haakon and his batshit crazy sister, I wouldn’t want my taxpayer dollars supporting them.

The Swedish royal family have very weird jewels--they have little as nice as the Queen of England has or the Dutch royal family has. Some of their tiaras are even made of black cut steel (Victoria wears them sometimes). When they did manage to get real jewels in their tiaras, they often went for colored stones, which are not always easy to pull off. pearls and diamonds go with everything, but you have to be careful what you wear with emeralds and rubies and sapphires. So it made sense for Sophia to swap out those tiny emeralds (which did nothing for the tiara) with pearls.
The Queen of England has an extremely ugly ruby tiara and an equally ugly aquamarine tiara, but the stones were gifts from the people of Sri Lanka and Brazil, respectively, and she wears them mostly to honor those people so they don't feel they wasted their money.

R148 Yeah Daniel received a transplant in 2009 which was one of the reasons there was over a year between the announcement of Victoria's engagement to him and the actually wedding (in royal circles, engagements usually only last a few months). I think the King and Queen's decreasing public profile over the last few years has been deliberate. Victoria has taken center stage a great deal in the last five years. There is a part of me that almost wonders if the King is going to abdicate at some future point. I know it's never actually been done in any of the Scandinavian monarchies before but the public impression in Sweden is that he doesn't really like the role. He's also never been popular in Sweden. He isn't hated, but there's kind of an indifference about him.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | December 22, 2020 6:54 PM |
I won’t have R150 disrespect the entire Swedish royal collection, most of which are Napoleonic and some older, because she doesn’t like the two Cut Steel tiaras in the collection. One must remember that when they were created electric and gas light did not exist, so the highly polished steel (which was a novel new metal) reflected the candlelight beautifully. It fell out of style and was not seen for many decades, supposedly Queen Silvia found the tiaras in a dusty cupboard in one of the palaces completely forgotten.
Anyway, the Braganza tiara is as spectacular as anything in the Dutch or British collection. The Nine Prongs is full of sparkle as is the Connaught, and the sapphire suite is one of the best in Europe. They also have a wonderful and unique Edwardian ruby tiara, and a fascinating aquamarine kokoshnik with huge stones. In fact, the Swedish aquamarines are much more beautiful than the monstrosity that Queen Elizabeth made from her Brazilian aquamarine gift.
By the way, Queen Elizabeth can’t be trusted to design her own jewelry. Besides the hideous aquamarines she had a hand in the creation of the hideous rubies (Burmese, not Sri Lankan) and also had a hand in putting an antique sapphire necklace from the Belgian royal collection upside down on a tiara frame. How does it look? Like an upside down necklace on her head.

R156 Carl Philip was in a long-term relationship with Emma Pernald from 1999 to 2009. The royal family adored Emma, who was kind of a girl next door type, and she is still on good terms with Victoria and Daniel apparently. Emma has never spoken publicly about why they broke up. The rumour mill is Carl Philip started messing around and Emma may have been lukewarm on the idea of being royal. While the official story is Carl Philip and Sofia met and started dating in 2010, it's rumour the relationship actually started when Carl Philip was still with Emma.

royal children are brought up differently than American children. First of all they consume less corn syrup, caffeine, and red dye # 3. The Princely family of Liechtenstein is the wealthiest, because their assets are all liquid. The Queen of The UK holds most of her fortune in trust to the country but can’t sell it. Although she does have some significant privately owned real estate, horses, her grandfather’s stamps, and her grandmother’s diamonds. She’s said to have a very valuable private art collection too, although like most Windsors she’s not a fan of cultural pursuits like art, she’s discreetly in it just for the money.
But yeah, Hans Adam II and Albert II have cash.
The Norwegian and Swedish royals may not have a large salaries but don’t let that fool you, they own property and they have good jewel collections (the Swedes in particular) most of which are from the Napoleonic era. They’re not starving.
