Sting's been stung by sexual assault claim

Sting is being accused of sexually assaulting a minor more than four decades ago, a new lawsuit shows. Through his attorney, he “categorically denies” the allegation.

The civil lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Arizona federal court and obtained by Yahoo Entertainment, alleges that the British singer (real name: Gordon Sumner) committed statutory rape by having sex with a 15-year-old “Jane Doe” after meeting at a Police concert in Scottsdale on May 14, 1979. He was 27 at the time. Sting, as well as his the Police bandmates and the group’s tour bookers, are being sued.

Will it stick?

Every rock star was fucking 15 year olds back then. And she waited 41 years??? Good luck with that.

by Anonymousreply 4November 20, 2020 5:56 AM

All rockstars are sick pedos, David bowie would have threesomes with underage boys and girls according to underage groupies.

by Anonymousreply 5November 20, 2020 5:57 AM

isn't the statute of limitations covered in cobwebs on this one by now?

by Anonymousreply 6November 20, 2020 5:57 AM

But the sex was tantric... if he didn’t cum does it count?

by Anonymousreply 7November 20, 2020 6:05 AM

I guess the same personality type that drives one to become a groupie at 15 drives one to seek a #MeToo court case at 56; a rather unfortunate fact for all involved.

by Anonymousreply 8November 20, 2020 6:12 AM

I met a woman who had been a groupie at age 15 and when she told me the names of the men she had been with, I wanted to throw up. I can never listen to their music again. She spoke glowingly of them, though.

by Anonymousreply 14November 20, 2020 8:31 AM

She got 40 years of bragging rights and NOW she wants a payoff too? Greedy! Every 15 yo of groupie from the 60s to the 80s who tried and succeeded to fuck a rock star got exactly what they wanted. It's very easy not to get statutory raped by rock star in an era when most people were fine with that. And the rock star can just take another from the group if one says no.

by Anonymousreply 15November 20, 2020 8:38 AM

I believe her. He may not remember her, but I’m sure at the time he was turned on by her being 15.

by Anonymousreply 16November 20, 2020 8:47 AM

Also, I wonder if Summers and Copeland have photos or film footage of her. I bet they do. Summers published nude photos of some of his groupies and Copeland seems to have been filming all the time during that tour. There’s a documentary about it. I bet this woman knows there is photographic evidence.

I've got a cousin who was a groupie. Decades ago, she had Mick Jagger.

His opening line to her was "Hey, what are you looking at?"

"I don't know. It must be your ugly face.", she responded.

And thus started lust at first sight that lasted an hour or so.

True story

A groupie is down to fuck. 50 years ago, no one was checking IDs to confirm age of consent.

Oh, no.

Couldn't care less if Gordon goes down, but I like the band's music and the other two guys. Stewart in particular has always had a soft spot in my heart, because he looks and acts just like the boy - brash, gangly, big-eyed, long-faced, with floppy blond hair - with whom I thought I was madly eternally in love when we were in high-school together.

I’m not with the woke crowd in cases like this. Even if I believe he had sex with her, I don’t think a 15 year old is a child. It’s also possible he didn’t know how old she was, or that she lied about her age. I also don’t like the idea of filing “anonymous” lawsuits. Supposedly, you have the right to face your accuser.

If I was on a jury, you’d have to show me some pretty compelling evidence that this happened.

[quote] Sting, as well as his the Police bandmates are being sued.

Defund The Police!

by Anonymousreply 32November 20, 2020 1:37 PM

R32 W&W!

R30 any gay locker room vibes from Stewart? Sorry, had to ask!

I’m of two minds about the movie producer cases. I think in some of them there was definitely an exchange implied that these women understood, if they were insulted by it. It doesn’t make any assault right but these were adult women who could make their own decisions about whether to go to Harvey’s hotel room. And he held up his end of the “bargain” for some, resulting in roles and Oscars.

This case is different becasue 15 is really young and (I went to the website and read the both the legal doc and the victim’s statement) and she did tell him twice that she was 15. I don’t know if it was the Police documentary where I saw this , but some rock group documentary or book (maybe John Taylor’s of Duran Duran) said each day management would give the band members an itinerary of the day’s events with a number in the upper corner. That number was the age of consent in that particular US state!

The guy who managed the Police, Miles Copeland, wasn’t a dummy. (Read all about how he manipulated the guys in Squeeze so that even their two songwriters weren’t getting much from their hits, but Copeland was). I think that he should have been aware that holding these “meet and greets” in record stores would result in teenagers showing up. He should have made it very clear to the band not to fuck teens!

Also, STING was an intelligent adult who was a former teacher! So if anyone should have been aware of boundaries, it was him. He even asked her if she was a virgin!

Finally, as I speculated above, Stewart DID film Sting and this kid interacting! Apparently she can be seen in his recent documentary.

I feel for this girl as I did Samantha Geimer. And she may very well be able to prove the effect it had on her via her therapy records.

I’ll be interested to see what happens. I don’t like that he outright lied and said it didn’t happen. He should have been more vague in his denial. I suspect his PR machine is working overtime to bury this story.

by Anonymousreply 46November 20, 2020 5:06 PM

R43 Why did she go off with him? What did she think was going to happen? I mean, losing your virginity to Sting is kind of amazing in and of itself. Why litigate NOW? Is it cuz he didn't marry you? Like -- what is the endgame?

It's just weird to suddenly be like, "Okay, you know what? I regret that thing I did 41 years ago. I'm embarrassed that I trusted a 27 year old rock star to care about me, a little teenybopper fan, and my ultimate well being. But instead of putting accountability squarely on myself, and instead of seeing the lesson, and instead of counting my blessings of the past 41 years...I am going to punish this now-70 year old guy, because he didn't protect my virginity for me, and we didn't live happily ever after."

by Anonymousreply 47November 20, 2020 5:10 PM

R47 You’re putting the onus entirely on this 15 year old. Doesn’t a 27 year old man have any accountability? It’s worth reading the complaint. It sounds like the sex was was forced, not consensual. Maybe she’s lying, I don’t know. But I think there is more to this than what’s come out so far. Copeland filmed it; let’s see the footage.

by Anonymousreply 48November 20, 2020 5:17 PM

I should add that I also believed Christine Ford, the woman who came forward during the Kavanaugh hearing.

I don’t know why girls bury these events and then some confront them later. Maybe some life event triggers this. I can imagine there is shame involved.

There’s an autobiographical movie called The Tale which features a protagonist in her 40s who has buried a similar event until her mother finds a school essay she wrote at the time and forces her to face what happened. The main character keeps trying to brush off the teenage sex with a much older man as consensual. I don’t know. That movie really affected me.

Bon Jovi, you're in danger, gurl.

by Anonymousreply 52November 20, 2020 5:28 PM

R48 I haven't read the suit. So my yammering is more about how people themselves struggle with taking accountability. If he forced her into sex, that is gross.

But why was she there?I Why was she in a situation where she ended up alone with motherfucking Sting? Answer: She made a choice, a terribly naive choice.

I guess that's what rubs me the wrong way - the lack of accountability for one's own choices. She wasn't 6. At 15 you can be left home alone, and you can babysit other peoples' children. If you can be left alone, or left alone with someone's young kids, then you should be able to make independent, reasoned choices that preserve your well-being and the well-being of others. Period.

And if she was in fact raped, I wish she would have done something about it sooner. Cuz it doesn't seem fair to wait until someone has had a full life, grown, evolved, had grandchildren, found spirituality, etc etc...and THEN punish the person for what they did at age 27.

by Anonymousreply 53November 20, 2020 5:33 PM

If it looks like the charges are going to stick, I think we'll see 'an out of court settlement'. We can't be upsetting the royalties' cash flow, can we?

by Anonymousreply 54November 20, 2020 5:40 PM

Ok I just read the article. So again, why did she go to a party with this 27 year old? Why did she go to the hotel with him when it was obvious he was fondling and groping her at the party? Why didn't she refuse to leave the hotel lobby and demand to call her parents then and there? So many moments when she could have stopped the escalation. If she was old enough to be out at night with her parents' consent, she was old enough to understand that she could be preyed upon by older men, and old enough to have a game plan for when that happened.

And in 1979 15 year olds were regularly having sex and going out looking and acting like 20 year olds. I remember, I was there.

I feel bad for the woman. I do believe here that Sting forced himself inside of her and that she didn't enjoy it.

by Anonymousreply 55November 20, 2020 5:41 PM

R53 Yeah, I know what you mean. But that’s what fascinated me about the film, The Tale. The director (played by Laura Dern) denies what happened until her mother made her face it.

I suspect (with no evidence) that this woman saw the recent documentary by Stewart Copeland and seeing herself in it brought back the rest of what Copeland filmed that night which wasn’t included. This is the event which forced her to confront what actually happened.

Also, I think the loophole law allowing for reporting this now was recently enacted and will end next month, I believe. She may well have wanted to take action when she was 20 but couldn’t. Again, speculation.

What I don’t agree with is the argument that because he is elderly, has grandkids, or loves rainforests means we should shrug this off. What you call “punishment” is to him a drop in the bucket. This is the man whose accountant stole $3M and he never noticed.

The director of The Tale found her abuser and engaged in a dialogue with him. He’s fairly famous in terms of college athletics. She didn’t ask him for money, she just wanted to know why. Maybe this woman attempted to do the same with Sting and he refused.

by Anonymousreply 56November 20, 2020 5:42 PM

I do think being a groupie and running after rock stars is stupid. I also believe he probably forced himself on her because he was so used to being serviced by eager teens as part of his due. So teens, if you don’t want to put out, stay off the damn tour bus and Far from the green room. The rock guys do not want to read Proust with you or look into your souls. They want pussy and BJ.

by Anonymousreply 57November 20, 2020 5:43 PM

R55 You ask why she went? This is why there are consent laws. The law holds that she was not able to make this decision for herself. Now where her parents?

But if her parents were negligent in their failure to protect her, it doesn’t mean Sting isn’t also responsible for his actions.

And again, he was a grown ass man! God, I remember myself at 15. I was so impressionable.

by Anonymousreply 58November 20, 2020 5:47 PM

Part of the enduring trauma is probably that she never saw him or heard from him again. He used her for his own selfish gratification, without a thought. And left town. Rape or no rape, that sort of treatment makes one's self-esteem plummet. I remember only too well as a younger person, the awful feeling of having been picked out of a crowd at the club or the bar, and chatted up, flattered to all hell, only to be used, and dumped. the "I'll call you" that doesn't happen. It's a yucky feeling.

yeah...it's called life and she was trying to learn about it a little too early it seems.

by Anonymousreply 61November 20, 2020 5:49 PM

Even a fifteen year old cant be so deluded that they think a rock star, who probably has sex with a different girl every night, would really care about them. That is so naive. I was fifteen once and maybe I’m cynical by nature, but I was aware of the predation of pussyhounds.

by Anonymousreply 62November 20, 2020 5:51 PM

It was possible in 1979 that a 15 year old, particularly a virgin, could have been naive enough to think that going backstage with a favorite musician only meant hanging out or maybe making out and petting like you did with high school boys who stopped at a certain point. Kids were simply not exposed to non-stop sexual imagery, porn, or even the level of innuendo that comes from every direction in media. Today I'd expect a 15 year old to know. Back then, not really.

She arrived with her parents and they were OK with letting her go? That's a powerful message. "Don't worry honey. Everything's going to be OK."

Don't be hard on her. Not all teen girls in the 70s hung around large city music scenes hoping to score rock star meat. And the certainly didn't know about a drunk or coked up male's proclivities. For every Connie Hamzy or Lorrie Maddox there were thousands of naive and gullible girls. The musicians knew this and reveled in it.

R48/R49 not being glib, and don't jump down my throat about this, but I really think you do have to be female to understand.

We are heavily socialised to think that our worth is equivalent to our 'honour' and chastity, and that we are damaged goods if we have been touched by anyone other than steady boyfriends and husbands, but at the same we have also been aggressively cast as (this is a key word) objects of desire who should present and offer themselves as such. Since the emergence of an affluent Western middle-class, girls & young women have been the target of marketing, as consumers of sexual iconography and ways of presentation (i.e., clothes). It's a tragic, elaborate, insidious trap meant to serve male lust. No female under age 50 is safe from this, unless they wall up in a convent - not even the lesbians, the Frauen, or the ones you'd call ugly.

Stir in fresh teen girl hormones and the headiness of 70s-80s MTV culture, and something has to give somewhere.

I won't weep if there's a payout, Stings a billionaire. But the 70s were a fundamentally different time culturally, as squeamish as it makes people to discuss. Probably all of these rockers slept with underage groupies.

The Tale was an interesting movie because there was something sort of universal to anyone who has experienced trauma, even non sexual. You tend to look back later and wonder " did x cause y? Or would I always have made those choices and developed those problems? "

I read the victim's statement. Its maudlin and highly editorial. Also rape described is statutory rape. Not forced rape. In the victims own statement, there is no claim that he insisted or force or coerced sex. There is no claim that she resisted the sex or said no. The statement describes a 27 yo rock star having sex with a 15 year old girl, so statutory rape.

Her claims of life long damage and inability to maintain any healthy relationship BECAUSE. of this rap will be very hard to prove and their a extremely scant details on her supposed life long therapy over this event.

So it boils down to the technical fact that she was underage and Sting knew and had sex with her.

All the rest is just a bunch unproveable drama.

It seems like a money grab.

R63, I don’t know how old you are but the late 70s and early 80s was the era of teen sex movies. The whole premise of Little Darlings was to see which 15 year old girl could loose her virginity first, and one of the targets was a 30-something year old man.

Trust me, if you were a 15 year old virgin in 1979, male or female, you felt like there was something wrong with you. I know so many people from that time who had sex at the first opportunity just to get it over with. I knew middle school girls who were fucking high schoolers, and high schoolers who were fucking married men.

by Anonymousreply 95November 20, 2020 7:19 PM

R94 That’s why I said it will interesting to see what she comes up as to medical evidence (therapy).

Again, I’m probably in the minority on here because I believed Christine Ford.

It must be scary and confusing to be female at that age.

by Anonymousreply 96November 20, 2020 7:21 PM

I was molested by Adlai Stevenson and Dag Hammerskoldt!

Simultaneously!

by Anonymousreply 97November 20, 2020 7:22 PM

R91 I did miss it, emphatically. My parents were little kids during the sixties. But it doesn't change what I said - this tale is old as time.

R95's statement illustrates my point. This kind of attitude toward young women and their sexuality has only just begun to change or get better.

[quote] Trust me, if you were a 15 year old virgin in 1979, male or female, you felt like there was something wrong with you.

I did not feel this way at age fifteen, but certainly did by seventeen, and I was born almost thirty years after this Jane Doe. Is there a lot of difference in experience in 24 months? I somehow don't believe there is.

by Anonymousreply 98November 20, 2020 7:23 PM

'De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da', 'Roxanne', 'Don't Stand So Close To Me', & 'Every Breath You Take' are so fucking overcooked and overplayed that I feel like I'm being assaulted every time I hear them yet again on a car radio, in someone's house, or over a tannoy system in a public space. Plus Sting's solo albums were horrible pretentious bloviated rubbish. I might sue, as well.

Shamefully though, I do love some of there other lesser-heard hits, particularly 'Can't Stand Losing You', 'Spirits In The Material World', 'So Lonely', 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic', 'King of Pain', and 'Bring On The Night'. I guess 'Message In A Bottle' is a decent one, too, but again it's overplayed on commercial broadcasts these days. It's kind of crazy to think the band didn't break in or hit big with a well-known record until 1979, as they feel and sound like such a 70s band (at least to me, though I wasn't there at the time so I don't know for sure).

Turns out on looking it up that my ultimate favourite songs by The Police are actually written by Stewart - 'Contact', 'Does Everyone Stare?', and 'Darkness'.

by Anonymousreply 99November 20, 2020 7:25 PM

Don't look at us!

by Anonymousreply 100November 20, 2020 7:25 PM

R95 But was that a positive thing? I’ve read an account by a woman who claims David Bowie took her virginity at 12 or 13. She’s proud of it, she says. What kind of like did she go to lead? How did that experience influence who she became? Was the effect negative? Is that why it is socially frowned upon today?

When I was a dorky gayling, I recall peers that were so so sophisticated and others really childish still.

by Anonymousreply 101November 20, 2020 7:25 PM

I graduated HS in 1982 but my sister graduated in ‘79 and there were girls in her class and a few classes above that F-ed teachers and married dads. My class was all about conservatism, Reagan, and return of 50’s preppy dress. I only knew a few classmates that had sex but this was upper middle class in Ohio.

by Anonymousreply 102November 20, 2020 7:26 PM

So I am to understand that 100% of teen girls in all of America, not just the coasts, were sexually revolutionized and dying to get rid of their virginity regardless of upbringing? Or that they all felt deep shame about not getting their cherry popped? Isn't this black and white thinking or in the very least an over-generalization based on your peer group of the era? Do you think all high school kids were like you and your friends and were allowed so much freedom and access? Were you aware of what the unpopular, geeky kids were like or what they thought or what their sexuality was like? Or kids who came from other cultures?

Or was everyone like you?

by Anonymousreply 103November 20, 2020 7:30 PM

R95. I remember freshmen girls bragging about dating college men. Any girl that nabbed a guy in college was the envy of the school frauen.

by Anonymousreply 104November 20, 2020 7:32 PM

R37, you don't have to put out the red light because you've posted the best response.

by Anonymousreply 105November 20, 2020 7:33 PM

Perhaps in 1979 Sting considered her the young apprentice,

Caught between the Scylla and Charibdes.

by Anonymousreply 106November 20, 2020 7:34 PM

I was 17 years old in 1979 and I can DEFINITELY vouch for the people in this thread talking about how oversexed the late 1970s was to the extent that teens (like myself) felt seriously stigmatized if they were a virgin. As soon as I got to college, I got rid of my virginity at the first opportunity because I had been conditioned by society and peer pressure to view it as a boil--something to be ashamed of and to be removed as quickly as possible.

That said, I'm very suspicious that this woman waited SOO long to sue Sting for this alleged sexual assault. I'm thinking she's looking for a big payout.

by Anonymousreply 107November 20, 2020 7:35 PM

Her motives are suspect, but these men should be held accountable. It's funny how me only consider teenagers "adults" when it comes to sex...

She may not have made a complaint about the encounter being forcible because '70s-era criminal law in Arizona likely didn't include date rape as an offense. It's only been very recently (in the past 20-30 years) that rape has been defined as any unwanted sexual intercourse. It used to be the case that non-statutory rape had to involve extreme violence or threats of extreme violence.

And while rape now technically includes simple non-consent, in practice, it's extremely difficult to prosecute those cases.

by Anonymousreply 112November 20, 2020 8:16 PM

Gordon is fey for a ladies' man, not the typical rockstar lothario. Suppose that comes of being English, and a former teacher.

by Anonymousreply 115November 20, 2020 8:39 PM

After 41 and she goes anonymous. Sorry but this is ridiculous.

Proving a sexual assault is difficult if it's dennounced at the moment, 41 years later is simply impossible. She wants money, if i was Sting i would sue her ass and ruin her life

by Anonymousreply 116November 20, 2020 8:41 PM

You can't sue someone for telling the truth

by Anonymousreply 117November 20, 2020 8:49 PM

But you have to prove "that truth". Good luck with that 40 years after

by Anonymousreply 118November 20, 2020 8:52 PM

R112 what the fuck is your point. Read her statement which was written now. There is no statement of forceable rape so I deduced that the crime here is based on statutory rape, which nowadays is rape. There is a claim that sex with sting ruined her for life. So - why did losing her cherry, consensually, with a 20 something guy, ruin her for life?

by Anonymousreply 119November 20, 2020 9:00 PM

R118 It seems likely that much of their encounter was captured by Stewart Copeland on video.

by Anonymousreply 120November 20, 2020 9:00 PM

Maybe she can prove the statutory rape. Thats about the limit. I guess that's what she wants to prove. The rest, as I said, her legal statement is maudlin editorializing and story telling.

by Anonymousreply 121November 20, 2020 9:01 PM

With the handy video cameras of 1979?

Oh for crissakes read the fucking statement. They were ALONE in his hotel room. The camera stuff came earlier at a party, elsewhere.

by Anonymousreply 122November 20, 2020 9:02 PM

I believe he probably did fuck the 15 year old when he was 27. It was what rock stars DID, fuck little underage girls. Jimmy Page was screwing Lori Maddox when she 14 and he was 29. Rick Springfield had a very public affair with Linda Blair when he was 24 and she was 15. Don Johnson was plowing Melanie Griffith when she was 14 and he was 24. Actors, rock stars....they like to fuck little girls.

by Anonymousreply 123November 20, 2020 9:07 PM

Of course you have to prove that truth. But just because someone can't prove a crime that happened 40 years ago doesn't mean Sting can sue as R116 claims

by Anonymousreply 124November 20, 2020 9:13 PM

R123 I think we all get that men of all ages love to fuck teen girls. The issues are, how does that affect the teen who becomes a woman? Did Lori Maddox reach her full potential? Did her sexual activity as 13 year old affect that?

The other issue is legal. The AZ law holds that a fifteen year old cannot give consent.

by Anonymousreply 125November 20, 2020 9:18 PM

Men of all ages like to fuck teenagers. Not necessarily just teenage girls

by Anonymousreply 126November 20, 2020 9:20 PM

R122 The camera issue is interesting becasue Sting claimed it never happened AT ALL.

Yet, it seems that Copeland may have footage of them at the party, where Jane Doe alleges Sting touched her breasts and genitals.

by Anonymousreply 127November 20, 2020 9:22 PM

R126 True. Reminds me of Myserious Skin, starring DL fave JGL. Those were younger children, but it was interesting how, as young men, one embraced being gay and the other avoided sex.

by Anonymousreply 128November 20, 2020 9:24 PM

Rick Springfield, speaking of his affair with LInda Blair, said that if it happened today he'd probably be "lynched" but hey, it was the seventies. In the seventies everybody did everything with anybody and it was considered no big deal.

by Anonymousreply 129November 20, 2020 9:31 PM

This thread makes me think the 20th century fight for Sexual Freedom is going backwards.

by Anonymousreply 130November 20, 2020 9:36 PM

The only rape going on here is her and her attorney trying to rape his bank accounts.

by Anonymousreply 131November 20, 2020 9:54 PM

R119

The point is that she can't sue him for forcible rape if what happened to her wasn't illegal at the time. Since statutory rape was illegal in '79, she can sue him for that. If date rape wasn't illegal then (and it almost definitely wasn't, especially not in Arizona), then there's no point in making that allegation.

by Anonymousreply 132November 20, 2020 9:56 PM

Then why include the detail that it ruined her for life and she was from a good christian family and was destroyed by the evil rockstar? In your theory, she could say she LOVED HIS DICKING OF HER CHERRY, but it was statutory rape so he must pay.

We agree that statutory rape his her only possible successful pursuit here. I dont get what else you are going on about.

by Anonymousreply 133November 20, 2020 10:03 PM

well honey, did you see Sting's tiny cock? Of course he jumped at the chance to pop some girl's cherry. super tight pussy. his small cock would feel lost in a groupie whore's loose vag.

by Anonymousreply 134November 20, 2020 10:18 PM

R93 Funny...cuz I'm also R42, R47 and R53 who ultimately puts the blame square on the girl. I here you loud and clear. I just happen to be able to also empathize with a fifteen year old, who doesn't have the adult skepticism that we have aquired.

by Anonymousreply 135November 20, 2020 10:52 PM

I literally understand this woman's complaint, as I was date-raped too, and it claimed my virginity. And I still am not okay with her complaint. Because it happened 41 fucking years ago. Sorry, but sometimes you have to just dig deep and figure out how you ended up there in that room. And heal. And get some spirituality going.

by Anonymousreply 136November 20, 2020 10:57 PM

I was a teenager in the 70s and had sex with a 35-year man shortly after I'd turned 15. I was very curious about sex, wanted to know what it was like, and figured my best bet was to go with someone who had some experience. I actually created a profile of the type of guy I figured would be best to have sex with. At a slumber party, one of my girlfriends was talking about a friend of her dad's. I wasn't paying much attention until she mentioned a few more things about him and I suddenly thought - he could be the one. I asked her more questions and decided he fit my profile. So I arranged to be introduced to him a couple weeks later, and at that meeting at his house, without further ado, we had sex. I thought it was great fun.

We kept in touch and met up for sex regularly since then. He's now 80, I'm 60. We're not up for having sex anymore, but when we run into each other, we grin.

I am so fed up with the idea that any sort of sexual activity under the age of consent is inherently harmful. It is not inherently harmful. It's illegal, yes, it's not a good idea, we should all agree on that, but research has shown that the negative affects are linked to force or coercion. Which is no surprise, because anything that involves force or coercion is going to be harmful.

For the mentally unbalanced who have some need to believe that everyone who's had underage sex has been damaged by the experience, I say: get some help. Do you believe the same thing about kids who drank, smoked, or worked when underage? Were those activities always harmful just because they started too young? Hell, no. So stop fixating on sex and only sex - and be glad that it isn't always harmful.

by Anonymousreply 137November 20, 2020 11:44 PM

Did Sting take her "Desert Rose"?

by Anonymousreply 138November 20, 2020 11:56 PM

How can something that is "not a good idea" as you say R137, be okay? Adults having sex with teenagers is harmful because it encourages less experienced humans, with less developed brains into doing something that can have life long consequences. It's not a guarantee it WILL have those consequences but why take the risk with young people? If a kid/teenager is up for doing something risky it is up to adults in these situations to try and stop them, not encourage them to ENGAGE in said risky behavior by actively doing said behavior with those teenagers/kids.

What utter nonsense to use your anecdotal experience with some creep to justify what is, at the end of the day, exploitation.

by Anonymousreply 139November 21, 2020 12:08 AM

Having sex with underage boys or girls is just wrong. The adult is always taking advantage of the kid, now matter how many times the kid might say he or she "wanted it." That's an excuse Mary Kay LeTourneau, who started riding her 6th grader lover's dick when he was 13, used. She was 34 and he was 12 or 13 but she always said it was HIM who was the dominant one, him who was the one who instigated the sex. Maybe he did makes passes at her but he was just a little twerp, a child, and she was the adult. So the sex thing was ALL her fault. It's always the adult's fault.

by Anonymousreply 140November 21, 2020 12:19 AM

R137's experience sounds so normative even for the 70s.

by Anonymousreply 141November 21, 2020 12:23 AM

R140 - Also keep in mind that LeTourneau was diagnosed bipolar. What teen is prepared to understand and deal with all that entails?

by Anonymousreply 142November 21, 2020 12:34 AM

Being bi-polar is an excuse a lot of these female teachers use when they get caught fucking underage boys. Debra LaFave said the same thing, that she was mentally ill with bi-polar disorder, therefore absolving her of blame for fucking a 14 year old. I hear guys who fuck little girls are now using Asperger's Syndrome as an excuse. I think all the claims of being bi-polar and having Aspergers are horseshit.

by Anonymousreply 143November 21, 2020 1:07 AM

I didn't say it was an excuse, did I? I was trying to emphasize that a young child (yes, child) without a fully developed brain or much life experience doesn't have the capacity to suss out a teacher who is cycling into a manic phase. He didn't have it in him to figure out that he was an object of her delusional system, not a "true love" or what could compel someone to leave her own children behind for him. Granted, the law only managed a temporary intervention in this case.

by Anonymousreply 144November 21, 2020 1:24 AM

I think if that girl at that party with Sting grooomg her in front of eveyone, no one there she knows, her trying to act grown up and the other two band members leering at her through their camera lens.

by Anonymousreply 145November 21, 2020 1:28 AM

And you know this underaged girl was one in a cast of thousands for Sting and his bandmates.

by Anonymousreply 146November 21, 2020 1:59 AM

R146 I agree. I think others may step forward now.

by Anonymousreply 147November 21, 2020 2:01 AM

Why do people get involved with people named Jane Doe, it never works out well.

by Anonymousreply 148November 21, 2020 2:21 AM

Did anyone see the Oprah Winfrey episode with the famous rock star? He bragged how he was the very best thing that had ever happened to so many small-town young teens living in boring parts of the country. Claimed they'd gotten the thrill of their lives and a self-esteem boost, plus endless fantasies when they were with their boyfriends.

Oprah at her best asked the man why he never even talked to the girls when they were walking to his hotel room. He said that he always asked them their names but quickly forgot. He said he took to calling everyone "babe" as they seemed to like that pet name.

by Anonymousreply 149November 21, 2020 3:20 AM

by Anonymousreply 150November 21, 2020 3:45 AM

[quote] I’m not with the woke crowd in cases like this. Even if I believe he had sex with her, I don’t think a 15 year old is a child. It’s also possible he didn’t know how old she was, or that she lied about her age.

by Anonymousreply 154November 21, 2020 5:28 AM

To all who mentioned being with a much older man was a status boost that all the other high school girls envied, I totally disagree. I graduated in 1985, and a girl in my class took her 30 year old BF to the prom. We thought it was gross. Any man 10 years or more older was like imagining your parents having sex..GROSS. HOWEVER, cute actors and rock stars, NOL GROSS, and all of us would have jumped at the chance to hook up with the guy we hung posters of on our virginal bedroom walls. So, yeah, I get it, as long as they were attractive and famous, like Sting was back in the day, it was a major fantasy.

by Anonymousreply 155November 21, 2020 6:09 AM

Some girls in that era were "wild" but others still very virginal and Conservative. Campus Crusade for Christ was huge in some schools.

Sure there were teens who hitchhiked from all over LA County and got fake ID's to attend rock concerts and buy beer. Being chosen to go backstage with a rock star would have been a big ego boost for them.

Can't put all teens in the same category. Getting pregnant back then meant dropping out of school or at least going to a special high school.

by Anonymousreply 156November 21, 2020 6:10 AM

Were Campus Crusade for Christ members going backstage at rock concerts?

by Anonymousreply 157November 21, 2020 6:14 AM

R157, yes.

by Anonymousreply 158November 21, 2020 6:17 AM

Are you male or female, r137?

by Anonymousreply 159November 21, 2020 6:18 AM

R155. The glamor disappeared if the guy was 30 or over. All the girls I knew in highschool wanted to date college boys or guys fresh out of college. It was not uncommon for a 16 year old girl to be dating a 23 year old guy, especially if he was in the Navy.

by Anonymousreply 160November 21, 2020 7:49 AM

R157, R158, Concerts were way, way too expensive for almost all of my high school. Campus Crusade for Christ members only went to Christian rock concerts or dances at their Baptist churches. Some boycotted the prom.

The "bad" girls who smoked cigarettes across the street from the high school would have seduced a rock star IF they had a chance. As did the drunk preacher's daughters and others from more Conservative backgrounds who got someone to take them to a rock concert.

Hispanic high school girls bragged about their older, more mature boyfriends. Marriage at 16 wasn't uncommon either. For everyone else these ideas were shocking, even taboo. Gossip of which seniors took a college boyfriend to the prom spread rapidly.

by Anonymousreply 161November 21, 2020 8:54 AM

R160, Parents from some cultures encourage their high school teens to date more economically stable, emotionally mature, settled young men which usually means college age. This is not casual sex, rock star fantasies lived out, frivolous fun.

by Anonymousreply 162November 21, 2020 8:58 AM

Know at least 2 girls from very Conservative, Christian families, victims of child sexual abuse, alcoholic, coke whores, who slept with rock stars when they were still underage. Rebellious, thrill seekers, they would never have considered suing for statutory rape.

However they did describe extremely kinky, abusive sex parties and orgies, and watching other teens get gang banged and treated like a piece of meat. Both have nightmares about their experiences.

by Anonymousreply 163November 21, 2020 9:23 AM

Hispanic parents complicit in the rape of their own girls? Except I was denied presence, as they obviously were.

by Anonymousreply 164November 21, 2020 9:34 AM

According to the legal document, Sting asked the girl how old she was and she told him. She also told him she was a virgin.

I don't see rape here but I find it odd Sting would ask a virgin to give him a blow job. I mean, really? How good could that be? That's like asking someone who has never driven to drive you to the next state. Unless, of course, he was giving her instructions while she was attempting to do it. (My first bf did that because I was so hopeless).

by Anonymousreply 165November 21, 2020 11:48 AM

Can’t believe I’m having to explain this, but straight men fetishise a woman’s virginity and inexperience as much as youth. They aren’t looking for experience and technique or a partner in their prime who knows they’re doing, like gay men.

by Anonymousreply 166November 21, 2020 11:51 AM

R164, Traditional Hispanic culture encourages women to get married after their quinceanera, a way to keep girls virgins to their husbands. Suitors know they face a date's father and brothers if they aren't serious about an engagement but push to make out.

by Anonymousreply 167November 21, 2020 12:06 PM

by Anonymousreply 168November 21, 2020 12:15 PM

She should also sue her parents, who were certainly complicit. They were at the show, too, then let their virginal fifteen year old daughter take off without them and go party with the band after the show. You can't tell me they didn't have any idea of what was going to happen. If they'd had any concerns, they certainly would have prevented it.

In Buck Owens' biography, it was reported that some moms who were too old or unattractive to catch Buck's eye would bring their young daughters to him after the show and offer them to him in their place. And yeah, he then screwed their daughters. So there are parents who fully understand what they're letting their kids get into, or even setting them up for.

by Anonymousreply 169November 21, 2020 12:39 PM

R166, Agreed. Also some men are reluctant to be with a woman who could compare their sexual performance and size unfavorably to their previous lovers.

Others believe that a girl's 1st will be her most memorable for life. Or they want bragging rights to their band mates and friends re being "chosen" for that special role of 1st to penetrate. Of course it's an extremely over rated misconception.

by Anonymousreply 170November 21, 2020 1:31 PM

Lol, they're trying to make out that Sting wrote Don't Stand So Close to Me because of this girl.

Why are American legal complaints written in such biased language? I know they're literally full of accusations but in what way is "outrageous" a legal term?

It seems a bit odd to me that the girl's parents would with her to the publicity event and the concert but have no concern about her going to the afterparty and then back to Sting's hotel alone, without them or another adult or even the friend she was with. Also odd is that she and the friend apparently went to the concert separately from her parents and then she also wandered off and left her friend, during which time Sting randomly asked her to sit on his lap.

by Anonymousreply 171November 21, 2020 2:02 PM

R171 My guess is that she told her parents she’d be going to her friend’s, not to a house party. When she left the party, she expected Sting to drop her off at the theatre where her friend was supposed to be. Her friend wasn’t there so she went back to the hotel, which was across the street, with the band, possibly expecting them to call a taxi for her from there.

As long as his “victim” is female, he should be fine. It’s only a cancellable offense if the accused is gay.

R33- The Allman Brothers- Band that had the age of consent circled at the top page of their daily itinerary. Gregg Allman mentioned it in "My Cross to Bear".

by Anonymousreply 195November 22, 2020 2:44 AM

Thank you, R195. I think the members of the Police were aware that 15 was under consent.

by Anonymousreply 202November 22, 2020 5:24 AM

Sting is such an asshole and his wife. I’d love to see him go down. Remember the cook that had a lawsuit against them. For treating her so horrible. Especially his wife.

by Anonymousreply 203November 22, 2020 5:29 AM

Wasn't Trudi on Will and Grace? Or did I dream that?

by Anonymousreply 204November 22, 2020 5:54 AM

I'm not [9] but an old roommate of mine had been a groupie when she was 15 years old. The most famous band, by far, that she and her friends groupied with, was Duran Duran. They met the band at a club when the band was getting launched in the U.S.

She slept with the drummer. Said he was very nice and very much into literature (like her).

by Anonymousreply 205November 22, 2020 1:32 PM

R205 That’s pretty cool. I read John Taylor’s book and the drummer, Roger Taylor (no relation) seemed like a nice guy.

R208 I mentioned none of those girls, Lori Maddox, in a post above. I wonder how it influenced her self esteem and how her life turned out. All of these girls learn their bodies are the only thing they have to offer. That is sad to me.

by Anonymousreply 210November 22, 2020 4:02 PM

R209 Yes, MJ was so hot in 1983! It would have been an honor to be molested by him! I’d gladly let my kids stay with him!

by Anonymousreply 211November 22, 2020 4:03 PM

Liv Tyler's mom was a groupie whore...she wrote a book about it. I read it many years ago...

She's a fucking whore folks!

by Anonymousreply 212November 22, 2020 4:11 PM

I remember groupies in the eighties and they didn’t seem too conflicted about it. I also remember we all took it for granted that men in their twenties and thirties openly lusted after young tweens and that girls were not considered as desirable once they entered their twenties. Actually the grunge age and Courtney Love and the other riot girl bands helped dismantle this slimy mentality and ushered in some more enlightened times. Before, it was a man’s mans world in the rock world.

by Anonymousreply 213November 22, 2020 4:41 PM

[quote] I’ll remember that the next time somebody trashes Michael Jackson.

There is no comparison. Michael abused children. These teenagers knew very well what they were doing and wanted these guys. I don't think teenage girls are all that much different these days but it's incredibly naive to think teenage girls don't seek out and enjoy sex.

It was certainly unseemly and illegal for these guys but it wasn't any form of child abuse.

by Anonymousreply 214November 22, 2020 4:42 PM

R213 How do you think a girl feels being told she has nothing to offer in terms of desirability after she’s out of her teens? I don’t think that makes for a healthy woman. But, women should weigh in, of course.

by Anonymousreply 215November 22, 2020 5:05 PM

[R215] I think it really messes some women up who latch onto that and then it’s gone so quickly. It’s most likely a contributing factor to the choice to get plastic surgery and leads to the saddest cases, such as Madonna. It’s important to raise girls to not center their identities on looks, which is getter even harder in insta ho culture, but I know parents who have succeeded. Being forever young and gorgeous is a hard standard for gay men, too.

by Anonymousreply 216November 22, 2020 5:18 PM

Weren't there any guy groupies who slept with (male) rockers???!

by Anonymousreply 217November 22, 2020 6:06 PM

@R208 Back then Jimmy Page was prettier than most of his groupies.

by Anonymousreply 218November 22, 2020 6:27 PM

Sting is so loaded. Doesn’t he have a house in like every country? Trudie has been showing pictures of their massive Italian country estate during the quarantine. Drinking wine or having their butler serve them food.

by Anonymousreply 219November 22, 2020 7:54 PM

I wonder if he'll get the Kevin Spacey treatment and gett labeled a pedophile by the media?

Actually of course he won't. That only happens to gay men. Just look at all the comments defending him here on DL of alll places.

by Anonymousreply 220November 22, 2020 8:09 PM

This sexual assault claim is old enough to have grandchildren.

by Anonymousreply 221November 22, 2020 8:10 PM

Just think of the reaction if Elton John suddenly got sued for having sex with a minor in 1975. His public image woild be destroyed forever. Heteros can get away with it.

by Anonymousreply 222November 22, 2020 8:10 PM

R222, heteros can even get away with sleeping with children apparently. Just ask Michael Jackson.

by Anonymousreply 223November 22, 2020 8:15 PM

R223, While Jackson wasn't hetero, he was able to fool a lot of gullible people into thinking he was which helped him to dispel the allegations for lots and lots of people. Thats true.

If he had taken up with a man instead of Lisa Marie, people would have believed he was a child molester even more.

by Anonymousreply 224November 22, 2020 8:24 PM

R220 The media has dropped the story for the most part. Agree that had he been gay, it wouldn’t be ignored.

by Anonymousreply 227November 22, 2020 8:41 PM

This is not the exact same thing, but I watched a video interview with actor James McAvoy and the host said, "You were a virgin at 16." And James replied, "Was I?" So with some prompting the host got McAvoy to say that he lost his virginity at 13. The host was really floored by this and McAvoy got a bit defensive and explained it away that where he was from had a high teen pregnancy rate. He was happy to brag about losing his virginity at 13, but when he felt criticized he changed direction. I think this happens with some of these teens who have sex with older men. While not legal, it's consensual and at the time they're all for it, but over the years they see the a certain brand of feminism try to portray women as people who can't make up their own minds, just people who are being "groomed" and these women suddenly feel victimized.

by Anonymousreply 228November 22, 2020 8:54 PM

She is seeking only $75K???? Whaaaa? Oh honey, if you're going to do a cash grab, you've got to aim for a higher figure!

by Anonymousreply 233November 23, 2020 4:31 PM

R233 I think it says she is seeking an amount above $75,000.00 but doesn’t specify the amount. I guess they’re negotiating now.

by Anonymousreply 234November 23, 2020 4:45 PM

I bet she has exactly $75,000 in credit card debt. The low ball number is because she wants to settle out of court and get her bills paid off ASAP.

by Anonymousreply 235November 23, 2020 5:18 PM

235, I bet you're right. She probably has exactly $75,000 in debt and was brainstorming ways to pay it off.

by Anonymousreply 236November 23, 2020 6:11 PM

$75K is nothing. You must be poor gays.

by Anonymousreply 237November 23, 2020 6:43 PM

Again, the amount is NOT $75,000.00. It says it’s an unspecified amount ABOVE $75,000.00.

They are asking for a jury trial. It’s Sting’s lawyers who will want to settle.

by Anonymousreply 238November 23, 2020 7:18 PM

R181 I don't think it's that difficult to bury this. It was 41 years ago, she was not forced, it's a really hard sell

by Anonymousreply 239November 23, 2020 7:22 PM

Up until her recent financial difficulties, you all know this was her claim to fame among her friends and acquaintances. It's probably what she always talked about even years later. "Hey, did I ever tell you about the time, that Sting fucked me when I was a virgin....?"

by Anonymousreply 240November 23, 2020 7:37 PM

If every virgin who bleeds after a deflowering pursued the man responsible, for rape. Well. Well, that would be something.

by Anonymousreply 241November 24, 2020 10:24 AM

Lawsuits always seems to come the Sumner's way. His insane wife Trudie Styler was sued by their pregnant cook because Trudie had a major meltdown, about the cook calling in sick and her brats needed their SOUP! This happened at their UK home. Trudie also lectured their cook, a married woman who wanted a baby and got pregnant,. Trudie went on that the cook had no business getting pregnant while working for her and Sting! The cook was fired, yet she won her lawsuit against Trudie.

I was a huge Police fan, I saw them when they weren't even known, at CBGBs, The Diplomat Hotel, The Bottom Line and then at larger venues. I must have seen them about 50 times all over the world. My motto is, never worship any celebrity, you will always be setting yourself to be disappointment. I still enjoy their music and Sting's solo work, but I think Sting is a disingenuous asshole, basically a huge fake.

by Anonymousreply 242November 26, 2020 1:42 AM

Why are no major news sites talking about this? Only Yahoo! ? The dailymail has not mentioned it either...

by Anonymousreply 243November 26, 2020 5:09 AM

I was surprised the Daily Mail and the NYP haven’t picked it up. It must really be ALL about PR influence. What else could account for the endless Daily Mail stories on non-celebrities Bella Thorne and Emily Ratajowski.

by Anonymousreply 244November 26, 2020 12:31 PM

" I still enjoy their music and Sting's solo work, but I think Sting is a disingenuous asshole, basically a huge fake."

Of course, he is (and I'm a fan of his work both with The Police and solo). Didn't he once call his family losers (because they were simple people from Newcastle--his father had been a milkman) in "Rolling Stone" after he hit it big? He's always been a tool.

by Anonymousreply 245November 26, 2020 1:25 PM

R245 I like a lot of the Police’s work but Sting and Andy Summers always kind of...I don’t know. Not a good feeling about either.

I don’t like much Sting’s solo work and I was surprised that I didn’t, since he wrote all The Police stuff. His first two solo albums are OK. The one song of his I really like is All This Time.

by Anonymousreply 246November 26, 2020 2:18 PM

[quote]Of course, he is (and I'm a fan of his work both with The Police and solo). Didn't he once call his family losers (because they were simple people from Newcastle--his father had been a milkman) in "Rolling Stone" after he hit it big? He's always been a tool.

IIRC, when either one, or both, of his parents died, Sting didn't attend their funerals. He was either on tour, in the middle of recording an album or 'too busy". Both parents died fairly young, think they both died of cance. The mom was in her 50s when she died. His mom was hairdresser who became a nurse. Yes, his dad was a milkman, who ended up owning the small milk distribution company, he wasn't exactly a loser.

Sting talked about not getting along with his father. The father was obviously quite jealous that one of his four children made it out of Newcastle, had talent and became very famous. Most parents would be extremely proud of their child who accomplished so much, especially while still in their 20s, but Sting's father remained bitter and jealous until he died. He told Sting, what Sting was doing wasn't "real work", that Sting had the "hands of a laborer not a musician."

Sting's mother cheated on the father. Sting heard the mother having sex with some other man. The dad sounded like a real piece of work. Sting has a brother and two sisters, I don't remember what they do for living.

Sting met his ex wife, Irish actress, Frances Tomelty, while she was in a touring company, he was playing in the house band of a Newcastle theater. Pretty sure he saw Frances as a way out of Newcastle. I don't remember the time frame when Stewart Copeland discovered Sting. Sting needs to thank Frances and Stewart for getting him out of Newcastle.

Frances is three years older than Sting, he's 69. Trudie Styler and Frances were best friends, they were both in The Royal Shakespeare Company together. Trudie set her eyes on Sting and went in for the kill. Trudie even went as far as moving next door to Sting and Frances when they lived in London! I've never heard one good thing about Trudie, she's rude and thinks she from royalty, meanwhile she grew up in home with an outhouse! A close friend's friend was a publicist for The Police and Sting when he went solo, I've got lots of stories!

by Anonymousreply 247November 26, 2020 9:45 PM

More info about Frances and Sting:

"On 1 May 1976, Tomelty married musician Gordon "Sting" Sumner – best known as the lead singer and bassist for the rock band The Police – after knowing him for two years. They met on the set of a rock-musical called Rock Nativity. She played the Virgin Mary; he played in the band.

They have two children together, Joseph (born 23 November 1976) and Fuchsia Katherine ("Kate") (born 17 April 1982). Sumner left Tomelty for his current wife Trudie Styler, and the couple divorced in 1984.

The split was controversial; as The Independent reported in 2006, "The problem was, he was already married – to actress Frances Tomelty, who just happened to be Trudie's best friend (Sting and Frances lived next door to Trudie in Bayswater, west London, for several years before the two of them became lovers). The affair was widely condemned – not least because it coincided with the break-up of the Police."

The publicist told my friend, Trudie was the person who made sure to find an apartment next door to Sting and Trudie. I found this out years before there was any mention of Sting cheating on Frances with Trudie. That has to be the ultimate betrayal, a partner cheating on you with your best friend.

Despite her face being mauled due to truck running her over as toddler, or as a small child, Trudie used to be cute. As a child, Trudie had many facial surgeries to correct her deformed face, which makes it all the more odd that as an adult she's had some incredibly bad plastic surgery! There was no need for a nose job, her nose looked fine.

Here's young Trudie and Sting, with his original nose. Sting had two nose jobs.

R248 Neither Styler nor Sting looked better after their nose jobs. If you look at pictures of their daughters, you can see their parents’ old noses: Mickey Sumner has her mother’s nose and Eliot Sumner her father’s. Eliot has the worst case of resting bitch face I’ve ever seen. Trudie Styler was lovely when young, but the all the plastic surgery gives her that “burn victim” look, as someone described the Goo Goo Dolls singer in another thread.

I knew someone who knew someone (lol) who also did some kind of work for Sting and he reported that Sting cheated on her all the time, and got angry at all the money she spends on expensive clothes (and her taste is pretty hideous). He said Sting just wanted to sit around stoned, playing his guitar all day.

I think his name is adolescent

John Cougar shed his childish name when he grew up.

by Anonymousreply 251November 27, 2020 12:08 AM

I’m surprised Sting has not left her. I heard for years that they had screaming matches at their homes. I think that’s probably why he is always on the road. Also he has a thing about not wearing deodorant. Howard Stern once said that they had to air out the office after they had an interview with him.

by Anonymousreply 252November 27, 2020 12:24 AM

So wife #1's BFF pursued Sting and married him. It happens.

The tea is Trudie is actually bisexual, but she prefers women. She's hit on many of Sting's touring band members wives and GFs! Years ago, one of Sting's band was staying at their Central Park West apartment with his fiancee. Trudie was relentless, rubbing up against the musician's fiancee, the woman was very adamant she wasn't interested in having sex with Trudie or Sting. The musician and his GF ended up leaving to stay at the Plaza Hotel.

The late Ian Copeland was a very decent man. Years ago, I called him for photo passes for a friend who was a brilliant music photographer but needed a foot in the door to get their photos seen. I explained the friend already had great seats to a Police show, but needed a photo pass in case the hired security asked him to to stop taking photos. Ian was very accommodating, he gave me four press passes for both Police concerts, for me and my friend. The photos turned out great.

R256 They have a good voice but they ape Sting when singing by scowling, looking up at ceiling, and using a Jamaican accent just as he used to do, so they come off looking like a Sting impersonator. They should develop their own style of performing.

by Anonymousreply 257November 27, 2020 12:21 PM

Why did Sting even get a nose job to begin with? In that pic with his original nose, there's nothing wrong with it!

Didn't Sting have a penchant for strip clubs? I think he might even have admitted to a strong affinity for them once in an interview, saying he loved looking at nude women.

Well, he and all the other straight men in the world!

Trudie looks disfigured from all of her plastic surgery. She was very cute in that old shot with Sting (with his original nose).

What became of Frances Tomelty? Did she remarry?

by Anonymousreply 262November 27, 2020 1:19 PM

My sister was really wild in her youth, she was flat out boy crazy. Years later a friend of hers said "Well I let boys do stuff because I felt unloved and had low self esteem". My sister crowed "I just liked fuckng hot guys" and her goody two shoes friend admitted that she did too.

It's like girls don't have a sex drive, they're shame filled little victims which is true in some cases but not all. I had two friends in junior high who were absolutely predatory about certain older guys. One finally fucked our hot art teacher, of course his wife and my friend were victims. She told me how she worked on him for months before she nailed him. Someone asked her if she loved him and she said I loved his body. She was 15.

by Anonymousreply 263November 27, 2020 1:43 PM

R263 Teen girls aren’t all the same, just as boys aren’t. Some are more sophisticated and worldly than others. Even boys could tell which teen girls in our class were sexually actively or just comfortable with their sexuality.

The woman accusing Sting was a virgin so probably not very sexually active. If you watch the clip of her above, she seems very awkward. I can see her going along with something she wasn’t really comfortable with just to avoid saying no, and feeling lousy about it later. Sting as a 27 year old experienced man who had taught teenagers previously should have recognized this reticence. I suggest he did, but didn’t care.

Gender fluid, huh? So why is Eliot, formerly Coco, Sumner always hanging off some woman? A few years ago, she was involved with two famous models. I reckon she's gay not bi.

She plays bass like her father and sings, she has a pretty good voice. I have some of her music. The music I have by Eliot, she's not singing in a Jamaican accent. Besides, looking like her father, to me she looks like Sting's bass idol, the late jazz bassist, Jaco Pastorious. Actually, when Sting was young, and pre-nose jobs, he looked a lot like Jaco.

Both Trudie and Frances Tomelty get small roles here and there. The last series I saw Trudie in was "The Night Of", she played a rich Manhattan woman who had been married to the step-father of the murdered woman. Her character did some heavy flirting with John Turturro's lawyer character. In her brief appearance, she was pretty good, she was very funny.

Frances still works as an actress, she's been on many UK mystery and cop series, the types shown on PBS and Ovation. I recently saw her on "Death in Paradise" and "Unforgotten".

I heard Frances didn't get such a great divorce settlement from Sting. Typically, the second wife reaps the rewards of marrying a rich man. Frances and Sting were fairly poor, I heard they slept on the floor when they were first married!

Their eldest son Joe is also a musician. He's 44 and married with a few kids.

His sister Fuschia is an actress, she looks like Frances.

[quote]Fucshia? That's the daughter's name? Was Frances a hippie? She named her daughter after a color?

No, Sting named his daughter Fuchsia, she was named after a character in one of Sting's favorite trilogies, Mervyn Peake's "Gormenghast", which Sting hoped to star in as Steerpike, the kitchen boy who schemes to control the household of his wealthy employees. In 1984, BBC Radio 4 broadcast two 90-minute plays based on Titus Groan and Gormenghast, two novels in the trilogy. The broadcast starred Sting as Steerpike, Jill Lidstone as Fuchsia, Elenor Bron as Gertrude and Freddie Jones as The Artist.

By the time Sting was able to get around playing the title character on film, he was too old. In 2000, there was a series starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, in the US, the series was shown on PBS. Currently, Neil Gaiman is supposedly working on yet another adaptation. Gormenghast should appeal to GOT fans.

I was a teenager in the 60's. Trying to bag a rock star was normal behavior for 15 year olds and above. I had a friend who looked 20 at 14 and was already having sex. She was a teen model very pretty. She looked like a young Barbi Benton. We went to a club that Mick Jagger was at. He hit on my 14 year old friend and she turned him down (she didn't like Jagger) but I offered and he said your too young. I was and looked 15. I always wished even to this day that I could have had Mick Jagger. The bragging rights alone would have been worth it. I was old for my age and also already having sex. At 17 I had an affair with a 40 year old because the boys my age were immature and didn't know what they were doing. everyone I dated was older than me although most of them were not more than 5 years older. I grew up in LA and came from an non-religious family.

This is 100% true, young teen females were randomly fucking back them.

A friend's older sister was around 15-16 during the Max's Kansas City heyday in the early to mid-1970s in Manhattan. She was never asked for her ID at this and other clubs. She looked older.

This young woman started dating at 14 and had long lost her virginity by the time she was hanging at Max's. As a teen, she was meeting people like Lou Reed, the Warhol crowd, Mapplethorpe, Patti Smith and lots of local NYC bands who were starting out at the time. She dated a guy whose band included the original Ramones drummer, Tommy E. This woman always talks about writing a book about her NYC escapes, so far, nothing. She claims she was never actually a groupie, because she dated these musicians "long term". I didn't know her well enough to argue, but her sister thought she was completely nuts. She's lucky to be alive. Back then no one used condoms and AIDs was on the horizon. She was on the Pill, that was it. She claimed to have never gotten pregnant.

I also knew a few groupies who fucked Led Zeppelin, then again, who didn't fuck those guys?!! They'd fuck any slag who moved. I'm surprised the three remaining Zep members are still alive, besides the unprotected sex, Jimmy Page was a hardcore junkie for many years. One of their groupies died of AIDs! She was a tall sophisticated looking woman, she could have been a model. This groupie didn't look trashy like Sable Starr and Lori Maddox, they were disgusting. They both looked like little girls playing dress up. Maddox actually looked like a drag queen, like a teenage boy in drag. Sable Starr in particular looked homeless. No class or style whatsover. At least super groupie Pamela des Barres was always attractive, she never looked trashy.

by Anonymousreply 272November 28, 2020 10:51 PM

Lori Maddox in her groupie heyday was Heidi Klum next to that hideous troll in Arkansas who I think STILL groupies (or tries to) and she's in her 60s. I forgot her name. Howard Stern interviewed her and asked her how she felt about being used. She was fine with it.

by Anonymousreply 273November 28, 2020 11:14 PM

R273, are you talking bout Sweet Connie, the BJ Queen, the one immortalized in that Grand Funk Railroad song? I recall a VH-1 interview with her years ago, it's wonder she's still alive. I guess she's on welfare? She has no discernible skills, just sex.

Her name was Connie Hamzy. She looks completely awful now, she's in her 60s, but looks like a sickly 80 year old.

Connie was actually cute when she was young. Lori Maddox always looked like a clown. Those silly 'Glitter Rock' get ups, her flat shapeless boyish body and that stupid 'duh' expression on her face, with those huge teeth. Her teeth were so big, she couldn't close her mouth.

Yes, that's who I was referring to. Connie Hamzy.

OMG. Is that photo her? Wow. Aging is clearly not her best friend.

by Anonymousreply 275November 28, 2020 11:46 PM

R272 I wasn't a groupie. I had a massive crush on Mick Jagger and that would have been like bagging the elephant. I lived in Laurel Canyon from 1967 until 1970 with some hippies and I rubbed shoulders with all the local talent at the country store during those years and never had an inclination to have sex with any of them. The doors and several Southern california groups were living there at the time.

by Anonymousreply 276November 28, 2020 11:50 PM

Lori wasn't cute at all, when the male rocker is 100% prettier than the groupie...well...

Years down the line, Lori got a nose job. Not sure what her ethnic background was. I know she's American, think she was of Hispanic or Italian descent. In this photo with Page, she looks like a young Hispanic boy with long hair. I've always wondered if Page was bisexual, because I never understood why most of his groupies didn't look like women, they resembled young teen boys in drag, especially Lori. Lori also had rep of being incurably stupid. I don't even think she finished high school. In an interview she mentioned being too distracted by her "relationship" with Page to go to school!

Not sure if Maddox was even her real last name. All those young LA groupies were totally uninteresting, how can a 14-16 old be interesting?

Sable Starr came from a rich family, she was ignored by her rich parents, they basically threw money at her and allowed her to be a groupie. Sable died of brain cancer.

[quote][R272] I wasn't a groupie.

I never said you were a groupie, I agreed that very young teen girls were having sex back then. Whether it be with musicians or with their BFs, lots of young teen girls were having sex back then. There didn't seem to be a stigma about having sex while in their early teens.

by Anonymousreply 280November 29, 2020 12:21 AM

R278 I didn't think you were accusing me of being a groupie. I'm sorry for not making myself clearer. You're right though. Young women were having a lot of sex. Especially in the 60's with our motto being sex, drugs and rock and roll. But I also think the early boomers were less thin skinned and less anxious and less emotional about sex. Our WW2 parents were always kicking us out of the house and imploring us to go outside and play. We had to fight our own battles and work things out ourselves. I think by the time we were teenagers we were more mature than our counterparts today who are much more sheltered.

by Anonymousreply 281November 29, 2020 3:44 AM

R279 Connie Hamzy was born in 1955 so she is mostly likely in her mid 60's in that pic if it is recent. She looks old for being in mid 60's though. I am almost exactly 5 years older and am 70 and still don't look that old.

by Anonymousreply 282November 29, 2020 4:06 AM

I just double-checked, that 'current' photo of Connie Hamzy I linked was from a 2016 Daily Mail article. Connie in now 65.

Not sure what's going on with her lower legs. Is she a junkie? Those odd bumps look like sores from shooting up or she's a crack or meth head.

Whatever she is, she's disgusting. What a sad pathetic life this woman has led, she's as bad as a washed-up drug addicted porn actress. On the VH-1 interview I saw years ago, she looked homeless and her filthy house looked like a crack den.

My mother is 81 and looks a hundred times better than Connie. Honestly, I know many people around Connie's age (I'm in my late 50s) and NONE of us look as bad as Connie. Has she battled an illness? Does she have an addiction (other than groupie sex)? Yes, I know the aging process takes a toll on all of us but NOBODY should look like that in your mid-60s unless there are extenuating circumstances.

by Anonymousreply 285November 29, 2020 1:21 PM

Those do look like track marks on her legs. The legs are the worst place to shoot up in, it's basically the location of last resort.

I think if she ate properly and stayed out of the sun she'd look 100% better. She really was a stunner when she was young.

by Anonymousreply 286November 29, 2020 8:26 PM

Did Connie fuck all these rockers or was she the Blow Job Queen as many claim?

by Anonymousreply 287November 29, 2020 8:33 PM

All those men raped girls unfortunately.

by Anonymousreply 288November 29, 2020 8:36 PM

"She was very sophisticated compared to probably 99.9 percent of teens of that era though."

I wouldn't call Pamela Des Barres "sophisticated." Dimwitted, definitely. Easy, certainly. But I don't see the silly, goony Pamela Des Barres as a sophisticate.

In her book she claimed that she lost her virginity at the seemingly late age of 19, but said that was still "too early. " She was giving blowjobs to musicians long before that. In fact, she said she became "very popular indeed" due to her fondness for fellatio. She said that "free, peace loving" girls like her were called "loose" but all she wanted to do was show her appreciation for their musical gifts. I always wanted to ask her; "couldn't you think of some other way to express your admiration for their talent besides sucking their penises?"

Pamela might have not been sophisticated, but she was was 100% better looking than those Rodney's English Disco underage groupie slags, Sable Starr and Lori Maddox.

Here's a photo taken during the years Pam was married to actor Michael Des Barres.

I'm 27 now, and I would be mortified and disgusted to find out I was in bed with someone that young. Even17-18 is too young imo.

And my parents would have lost their damn minds if they even suspected I was having sex at age 15 or younger. Must be a generational thing. The sixties and seventies sound like a scary time of lost innocence, in a way. But then, my generation could download and view porn at age ten, so it's snakes and roundabouts.

by Anonymousreply 297February 11, 2021 4:50 AM

Rick Astley is next sadly.

by Anonymousreply 298February 11, 2021 5:10 AM

Rick Astley doesn’t have the PR power Sting has.

This is interesting. I always thought this song was about consensual sex between a teacher and willing student but Sting describes it as a rape. Unless he means the student raped the teacher.

by Anonymousreply 299February 11, 2021 1:40 PM

Also, I don’t let Sting off the hook. He was older, had been a teacher and was supposedly very intelligent. That’s what we were told throughout the 80s. So, he knew his about statutory rape laws.

Also, his band mates were the same age or even older.

I think it sounds like the girl (who can be seen in the Stewart Copeland documentary, by the way) was into him but he pushed it further than she wanted. Which is, you know, rape.

Sting and Trudy lead separate lives. Sting doesn't want to give most of his millions, so they remain married. Trudie is into women. Years ago, Trudie hit on a gorgeous female friend of mine. When Trudie sets her sights on a good looking woman, she makes the woman think Sting will be part of the threesome, Sting never is!

by Anonymousreply 305February 16, 2021 4:13 AM

I've never said this in any other case, but damn, it was 40 years ago. No one remember anything back then. Me included

by Anonymousreply 306February 16, 2021 4:20 AM

R305 His wife is really a lesbian? So she married Sting for the money/fame, it sounds like. She was very pretty in the 80s but got a terrible nose job. 80s nose jobs always seem to result in a nose that was too small for the face and looked even worse as the person aged (see Janet Jackson). She was an aspiring actor at one time but her career never took off, even with all her connections.

Yes, it seems so, Trudie is into women. She must have had sex with Sting more than a few times, she did have four children with him.

Trudie was more than just an "aspiring actress", she was in the Royal Shakespeare Company, along with Sting's first wife, Irish actress Frances Tomelty. The women were supposedly best friends. Trudie was was jealous of what Frances had and wanted in. She even went as far as moving next door to them in London. Trudie likely doesn't love Sting.

Trudie supposedly paid for her acting school, but working at gentlemans club in London, most of the clients were rich Arabs. It assumed since she wasn't a stripper, True was actually an escort. He past is but mysterious. Trudie is from a dirt poor background, she grew up without indoor plumbing. Now she prances around like some sort of queen!

Trudie was hit by a truck when she was a toddler, she endured years of plastic surgery on her face. Over the years, as an adult, she's had even more plastic surgery. Her face is tighter than a drum! Her facelifts are worse than her nose jobs.

All you have to do is look at her children with Sting, to see their original noses (Sting had two nose jobs during the 1980s) a few kids have Sting's original nose and the others, Trudie's original nose.

[quote]Who knows. It is curious how so few classic rock stars have been accused. Is there a certain omertà amongst the old groupies?

The teen Sting had sex with wasn't a groupie, she was just a fan who ended up having sex with him.

by Anonymousreply 311February 16, 2021 2:35 PM

R311 and R310 the issue isn’t willing sex it’s that this woman says she was raped as a teen. She was into him but at some point said no and he forced her. I forget her age at the time but I recall she was below the age of consent.

It sounds like seeing herself in the Stewart Copeland film brought it back.

R309 that is really something - Trudie working as an escort. You’d think that would have turned Sting off, but I guess it didn’t. Straight men are so unpredictable.

I think their original noses suited their faces. Sting lost a lot of his sexiness when he got the surgery.

One 80s person who got a very good nose job was Wham!’s Andrew Ridgeley. His nose wasn’t terrible and he was very handsome before, but after he got the nose job he was movie star gorgeous. I think he was the hottest of the 80s rockstars and he seemed to really love GM.

by Anonymousreply 316February 16, 2021 3:50 PM

Trudie doesn't look too bad; the cheeks are too chipmunky but otherwise she's OK. Sting is starting to resemble Phil Collins.

R317 I think it’s about the public relations power he has. He’s an institution - it’s in a lot of people’s financial interest to bury this.

by Anonymousreply 318February 16, 2021 6:11 PM

She's going to have a real hard time proving it since it was more than 40 years ago. I doubt this will go very far forward.

by Anonymousreply 319February 16, 2021 6:14 PM

R319 It has been buried, BUT I think they’ll settle on a sum out of court.

I buy the story. I think it would be very hard emotionally to be a woman and make up a story like this about a beloved entertainer knowing the ire it will draw from the public AND the music press which I think is made up mostly of men. Is that level of scrutiny worth it for a few grand?

I think he will pay her out of court because she has proof - i.e., the film Copeland shot at the party. We won’t hear about it but there will be a payout.

by Anonymousreply 320February 16, 2021 7:05 PM

by Anonymousreply 325February 17, 2021 2:14 PM

I remember listening to Howard Stern back in the late 80s/early 90s (when he was funny). Occasionally he'd have Sting and Trudi as guests to plug their rainforest concert. He would cleverly direct all his attention to Trudi, flattering her for being so unbearably hot and slobbering about what he'd like to do to her. Trudi would eat it up: "Oh, Howard, you naughty boy!" It was a good tactic, stroking Sting while not having to struggle to engage him, as he seemed like the dull half of the pair.

by Anonymousreply 326February 17, 2021 2:27 PM

R325 You haven’t seen a recent photo...

by Anonymousreply 327February 17, 2021 2:28 PM

R326 I remember that too! Sting is a terrible interview. Almost as bad as Chris Martin. Both insufferable.

by Anonymousreply 328February 17, 2021 2:29 PM

She should sue her therapists also. She said she has been in life long therapy and "suffered and will continue to suffer in the future physical and emotional injury including, but not limited to, great pain of mind and body, shock, mental anguish, emotional distress, embarrassment, loss of self-esteem, disgrace, humiliation, anger, rage, frustration, loss of enjoyment of life, loss of consortium, loss of love and affection, sexual dysfunction".

Forty years of therapy should have helped her process and deal with what happened sufficiently that she isn't in the state described above.

by Anonymousreply 329February 17, 2021 2:30 PM

R328 In that regard it would seem Trudi has been a perfect partner for Sting. She runs their show and provides personality.

by Anonymousreply 330February 17, 2021 2:31 PM

R329 I don’t know if it’s the therapist’s fault - or if there has been only one. My mom worked in mental health and from listening to her it seems the patient has to want to improve and has to follow the doctor’s protocol. I have a third cousin who has been in therapy since 1982(!!!) and still views herself as a weak victim, alwyas preyed upon by others. She has seen many therapists - most of them end up ending their treatment because she just won’t comply. Also, she won’t take any medication except Ativan, which takes almost daily. There was a sexual abuse event in her life at the same age as Sting’s victim, around 15.

Therapists can only do so much. That woman’s parents must be kicking themselves for letting her attend that concert.

by Anonymousreply 331February 17, 2021 2:50 PM

by Anonymousreply 332February 17, 2021 11:10 PM

[quote]([R305]) it’s funny that you say they lead separate lives. She has sure posts tons of photos of them together on her Instagram. In their huge mansions. She really lets us now, she’s rich.

Jeez, I know someone who knows them personally. This is an anonymous forum, that's why so much truth has always been posted at DL. Guess you are new here?

Sure, Trudie is always pictured with Sting at important showbiz events, that doesn't mean they are joined at the hip. When she has to be somewhere with her husband, she is. Otherwise, she's off producing her little films, helping to run their Tuscany wine business, appearing in some small role (a rich divorcee into hot young men in "The Night Of") or fucking her latest pretty younger woman.

I don't know how Sting puts up with this woman, Trudie is insufferable. She's more than a bit 'off'. There was some incident years ago, at one of the Rainforest Benefits held at Carnegie Hall, she was screaming at some guy who she didn't want near the backstage area, she thought he was some hanger-on who made their way backstage. Meanwhile, the man was working at the venue, he needed to be there. Think he was one of the sound men!

Trudie has managed to wrangle her way into every aspect of Sting's career. Most wives of celebrities are not this extreme. She might lead her own life, yet still manages to stick her nose into Sting's career to an absurd extent, she might as well become his manager.

They remain married because Sting sure doesn't want to give up half his massive fortune or one of their eight residences.

It's certainly not lost on me how most of Trudie's IG posts are about female empowerment, she's always posting female directors, female writers and females who are independent strong women, yet Trudie has everything in life thanks to her husband's talent and his money. She didn't bring anything into that marriage.

Trudie is incredibly tone-deaf, she doesn't get it. Or she totally gets it and she's basically trolling us.

by Anonymousreply 333February 18, 2021 3:39 AM

Fascinating R333. She does seem annoying. I checkee out her Instagram and you’re right, she’s either completely out of touch or trolling.

Does Sting have affairs as well?

by Anonymousreply 334February 18, 2021 4:08 AM

Yes, R334, Sting has affairs. With women. A few years ago there was a photo of him leaving a brothel somewhere in Spain or maybe South America, I forgot. In some photos, which were posted online, he was trying to hide his face. Someone obviously called the paps to tell them Sting was there that night.

He doesn't seem very smart, why visit a brothel, when all he has to do is meet some escort at a hotel or, if he's in a city where he has friends, meet these women at the friend's apartment.

Sometimes I wonder if these celebs want to get caught. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, any publicity is better than none.

by Anonymousreply 335February 18, 2021 4:28 AM

In one scene in Sting's "All This Time" concert special, which was filmed at his Tuscany home during the week of 9/11, one of the musicians staying at his home asked where Trudie was. Sting honestly didn't seem to know. He did know she wasn't anywhere in the huge Tuscany home.

I think Sting responded with something like, "Trudie's off doing her thing." He seems to accept Trudie's 'secret' life. After all these years with this annoying woman, Sting doesn't seem to care what she does.

by Anonymousreply 336February 18, 2021 4:30 AM

I remember when I was a teenager. I was so jealous of Trudie. I was so madly in love with Sting. It’s funny to me. That fantasy life I wished I had was all fake. I would give anything to spend time with Sting. And he wouldn’t have to pay me.

[quote]That dude is paranoid too. I heard him on the radio once saying that he didnt trust the stock market so he put 1 million dollars in over 100 different banks. So even if one bank fails he wont lose all his money. Um, ok, ever hear of real estate?

What dude is paranoid about money? Sting? Well, at the beginning of The Police's success, he was ripped off by a few million. Pretty sure Sting is into investing AND real estate.

He sure is into real estate, Sting has about seven-eight homes. This is dependent on which one he's sold etc.

In the early 1980s, he had two NYC residences. One downtown in Soho, a loft and Billy Joel's former CPW duplex, which he paid around 1 million for, spare change these days. He sold that place for over $25 million!

Sting sold his Soho loft, then he continued to live in Billy Joel's former CPW duplex, he then sold that. Sting then bought a 'new build' co-op which was made to look like a pre-war. That beautiful apartment, which was in an AM Stern building, was sold in 2017 for about $50 million. He then rented in a building near the High Line.

The Sumner's next move was to 220 Central Park South in 2018. Sting also has a house in the Hamptons and another home in Malibu.

Sting has a huge estate in Tuscany, where his vineyard is located. A few years back, the ever delusional Trudie claimed that Italy was her parents "native country." Styler doesn't sound like a very Italian last name. Not sure where and when her parents ever lived in Italy. Trudie supposedly grew up dirt poor in a rural area of England, in a home without a toilet. Trudie's father was a farmer who later worked in a lampshade factory!

Sting also owns an 18th century house in London and a 16th century estate in Wiltshire, called Lake House. Sting's album "Ten Summoner's Tales" was written and recorded there. The estate can be seen in a concert film about the recording of the album.

There was yet another house in Ireland, I think that was sold many years ago.

Sting is supposedly with around $400 million. He made some of his millions re-selling his real estate investments.

I recall reading (more than once) that Sting says he isn’t leaving his children money. Of course he is; how would they survive otherwise?

by Anonymousreply 342February 18, 2021 8:39 PM

Sting, gettin' underaged private parts. What a role model!

by Anonymousreply 343February 18, 2021 8:47 PM

I’m loving this gossip about Sting and Trudie.

by Anonymousreply 344February 18, 2021 11:22 PM

There is an IG for Sting's Tuscany home, Il Palagio. It appears, parts of the estate can be rented out for weddings and other occasions, this means, besides his wine, olive oil and fruit preserve business being run out of the Italian estate, Sting is also making money from the estate's rental business.

Sting also has to pay a staff to run Il Palagio as well as pay the vineyard workers.

The extra cash from these various Tuscany based businesses allows Sting to pay the huge overhead to keep that estate running, as well as possibly all his other properties, especially Lake House.

by Anonymousreply 345February 19, 2021 2:35 AM

Wow, Trudie's face looks awful here. Look at her chin area. Like Madonna, her plastic surgery actually makes her look older than her age.

Sting's two nose jobs are awful. How do all these rich people end up finding the world's worst plastic surgeons? His nose was bulbous, but all he needed was to keep the same nose, just a smaller version. It's amazing how these rich famous people never manage to get better facial surgeries.

I have a few friends who had nose jobs, unless you knew these people before the surgeries, you'd never know they had nose jobs, their work is that good. Their noses look natural.

So many of these rich famous people always seem to get their faces butchered!

Maybe they keep going getting more and more because they have so much money? It’s like when you’re working on a painting and don’t know when to stop. Looks so scary, what a waste of money, paying to look like Frankenstein.

by Anonymousreply 347February 19, 2021 9:42 PM

Trudie's face is as tight as Sting's hole.

by Anonymousreply 348February 19, 2021 9:57 PM

Morrissey would never. He has taste. Sting ain’t no Johnny Marr.

I don’t know why/how so many 80s nose jobs were so bad...or is it that they don’t age well?

Sting was sexy with old nose. Trudie looked better with hers, too. I wonder if his manager told him to do it?

by Anonymousreply 349February 20, 2021 12:20 AM

Sting had both his nose jobs in the early 1980s, not sure what other work he's had since then. Possible hair transplants? Botox and fillers? He still appears to take the sun. In that family, Trudie is the plastic surgery addict.

Their musician daughter Eliot seems to go out of her way to uglify herself.

Around the time Sting had his first nose job, his hair was noticeably thinning.

Despite the crappy nose job, here's Sting at his most gorgeous. Think this photo was taken around "The Dream of the Blue Turtles' period.

[quote] I wonder if his manager told him to do it?

Sting's manager during the first nose job was Stewart Copeland's brother Miles Copeland, Miles would never tell Sting, or anyone else, to get a nose job.

The Police's former publicist Kathy Schenker latter became Sting's manager, what a nasty and fug woman. Kathy was seen in Sting's 'Bring On the Night' concert film, she was arguing about Sting's female backing singers clothing. Guess Kathy never looked in a mirror. Kathy is as unattractive as the Ramones manager, the woman who was killed by her assistant, Linda Stein.

There's always a certain type of person who works in the business end of the music field, especially in management. Most are cold, rude, have zero people skills and are usually women, middle aged divorced women.

Of course, they know how to kiss the asses of their clients, beyond that, these people are always awful. I dealt with Miles brother, the late Ian Copeland. Ian was the exception to the rule. He was pleasant, super patient and always decent to the fans. Ian sure didn't forget, without the fans, there wouldn't be any millionaire rockstars.

Why are all these nasty sour faced women working behind the scenes in showbiz, especially the music field? It's as if these women are specifically hired because they are nasty bitter crones.

Sting's current manager is Martin Kierszenbaum. Martin supposedly worked his way up from the A&M Records mailroom.

by Anonymousreply 351February 20, 2021 12:48 AM

R350 I have to respectfully disagree. I don’t like the floppy hair, Nothing Like the Sun look. He was hotter in the Police (pre nose, short spiky hair lol) years.

by Anonymousreply 352February 20, 2021 8:56 PM

R351 thanks for all that info. His female manager sounds lovely. Maybe women feel like they have to be really cunty to exist in the mostly male rock and roll world? Still no excuse for rudeness.

Did/does Sting have any affairs with straight women and what about men?

by Anonymousreply 353February 20, 2021 8:58 PM

R351 that should be FAMOUS women.

by Anonymousreply 354February 20, 2021 8:58 PM

Also R352 did you read Chris’s Difford’s book? He was the guitarist and one of the songwriters for Squeeze. He claims one of the Copelands really took advantage of him and his songwriting partner, and basically denies them royalties to this day.

by Anonymousreply 355February 20, 2021 9:04 PM

[quote]Also [R352] did you read Chris’s Difford’s book? He was the guitarist and one of the songwriters for Squeeze. He claims one of the Copelands really took advantage of him and his songwriting partner, and basically denies them royalties to this day.

I'm not R352, but unless Miles Copeland was also Squeeze's manager, shouldn't their own management have fought for their royalties?

I do know Squeeze were signed to A&M, as were The Police and many other 'new wave' bands of that era. Squeeze seemed to tour constantly, the band should have made lots of money from touring alone. I was a huge fan, I cannot count the times I saw Squeeze. Their gigs were always sold out. They were an excellent live band. Chris Difford's writing partner was Squeeze's singer, Glenn Tilbrook.

The problem is, most musicians, and artists in general, are not business people, they can easily be screwed over by unscrupulous people.

As I posted upthread, early in The Police's career, Sting lost a few million. IIRC, his accountant at the time screwed him over. I don't think it was Miles screwing him out of money, especially as Stewart was Miles brother and essentially the founder of The Police. Miles knew how talented Sting was as composer.

While on tour in Newcastle, Stewart discovered Sting, he then called him up and invited him to London to join a band he was forming. The Police was essentially Stu's band, however, what usually happens with most bands, the lead singer then becomes the 'face' of the band. The rest is history.

by Anonymousreply 356February 20, 2021 11:15 PM

Sorry R356 I meant you lol. I think Copland was Squeeze’s manager? Lord, I read a book and then forget half of what I read but Diffird was very critical of him. If you’re a Squeeze fan you must read it or even better, listen to Difford read the audiobook. He has a very soothing voice, though you feel badly for him at times, the way he lost money and had problems with alcohol.

I’m pretty curious about Sting’s celeb women hook ups!

I saw the Behind the Music on the Police and was pretty interesting, the way the band came together, as you mentioned. Funny that the Police are good and have a distinct sound but Sting’s solo stuff is pretty bland. Looks like they were a good live band.

Sting's former PR was the head of marketing at their record company. She left to form her own PR firm and Sting followed. In fact she worked with all the big names in the music biz. Fiona Apple was her babysitter's best friend. That's how she was discovered.

I wouldn't say she's nasty but she isn't quiet. She's loud.

Kathy was actually a former publicist for The Police, I guess she was the head publicist, but there were others, younger women who were much nicer.

A close friend was friendly with one of the younger female publicists, he told her I was a huge Police/Sting fan, she got Sting to autograph some publicity photos and she also gave me some IRS promo sweatshirts, a few Police tour shirts and other promo items. Pretty sure sour Kathy would never have done that for a fan, even a fan who was there from the very beginning. As I mentioned, Ian Copeland was very cool, he gave me press passes to shoot a few Police and Sting gigs, I'm a photographer.

When Sting left The Police, Kathy moved on to become Sting's manager. Everyone I know who has dealt with her, says she's a horror show. Yes, I heard the Fiona Apple story.

by Anonymousreply 360February 21, 2021 6:49 PM

Kathy Schenker is no longer Sting's manager, his current manager is Martin Kierszenbaum. This man worked his way up at A&M Records, The Police and Sting's record label.

by Anonymousreply 368February 22, 2021 6:01 PM

"Every hero becomes a bore at last", indeed, and Sting did it in record time.

Are you serious? There's still a lot to manage. Sting's music career is still going, he still releases music. Sting also owns a winery, olive oil and fruit preserve business, which he runs out of his Tuscany home, Il Palagio.

Guess you haven't read the thread? Why are you here?

DL, this place never ceases to amaze.

I've been fan since no one knew who The Police were. I bought their import singles in The Village. lol. I first heard The Police on college radio.

I agree, Sting can no longer create good music, which is sad. If you like Sting's voice, his son Joe's band is pretty decent, they're called Fiction Plane. I have their first two LPs. I prefer their first release. Everything Will Never Be OK.

Eliot Sumner, one of Sting's daughters with Trudie is a singer and a bassist, she sounds a lot like her father.

There were a few good songs from The Last Ship. I actually fell asleep when I saw the Broadway play!

The last music I bought from Sting was a CD of his rearranged songs and a Christmas CD. At least we have all the years of his music when it was excellent.

He's so wealthy, why does he bother? Pushing 70, can he really still enjoy touring? Or does he need the extra cash to run his two large estates?

by Anonymousreply 374March 3, 2021 8:59 AM

R374 He has to provide the same lavish lifestyle for 4 or 5 spoiled kids who don’t work...Touring is the best way for rock stars to make money (ot so I’ve read).

by Anonymousreply 375March 3, 2021 11:23 AM

With the old bricks-and-mortar sales structure for music long gone and lower sales in general, its nearly the only way older rock acts make money nowadays.

by Anonymousreply 376March 3, 2021 11:32 AM

I just think it’s all that Sting knows. Touring and being on stage. If I had a Annoying ass wife like Trudy. I want to be on the road too. And he does still sound good.

Is he actually still supporting all his 6 kids?

His two oldest, with his first wife Frances, one of them, Joe, is a musician. Joe is married with a few kids and Fuchsia is an actress. Fuschia looks like Frances.

With Trudie, Mickey Sumner is also an actress, she's been in a few films with Greta Gerwig. The lesbian daughter Eliot, who looks like Sting, is a singer and bassist. I'm not sure what Sting's boys with Trudie are up to. Think one tried modeling!

R378 I stand corrected. Evidently he’s supporting 6 kids and several grandkids. His kids are all in the arts, but have done nothing which would support the lifestyle they appear to be living on Instagram. That must be why Sting is selling wine, etc., renting his house to tourists and doing private parties for shady politicians.

by Anonymousreply 381March 7, 2021 10:01 AM

R9 who were the musicians she had sex with? Any details about them like cock size, not cut/cut, how long they lasted, if they had sex kinks, etc.? Please name names.

Someone here on DL wrote about how their aunt was an adult groupie and had sex with Eric Clapton and Robbie Robertson of the band.

A friend of mine was looking through his family picture album and found a photograph of Eddie Money, his mother, and a woman she was friends with all in bed. His mom just laughed and said how in the late 1970s she and her girlfriend were groupies and went to see Eddie Money. They wound up all sharing coke, having sex-his mom is bisexual, and my friend's dad thought it was funny and was proud of it and it was before they were married.

The Police were good but all of their albums sound the same. They asked the Smiths to open for them on tour and Johnny Marr turned them down saying his band was more important that the Police were or ever would be. He was right.

by Anonymousreply 385March 8, 2021 4:06 PM

The Smiths might be "more important" musically, but The Police were an excellent live band, I cannot count all the times I saw them. No matter the what size the venue, they were always excellent live.

Andy Summers had years of experience, he played with a later version of the Animals and the late great Kevin Ayers. The Police were never a punk band. Stewart Copeland's band before The Police was the progressive rock band, Curved Air. Sting was a jazz bassist. They had musical chops that most punk bands sure didn't possess.

by Anonymousreply 386March 9, 2021 12:01 AM

Does anyone wonder if he’s a grower? I’ve seen his cock several times, but never hard.

by Anonymousreply 387March 9, 2021 12:12 AM

I saw a picture of him covered in mud and it was quite a let down.

Agree the Police were good live, MTV used to play live clips.

The Smiths, though. I’ve been playing the Queen is Dead remastered nonstop. Brilliant. Has bonus demos and live tracks too.

Sting had a lot of plastic surgery? The only plastic surgery he had was on his nose, he had two nose jobs in the 1980s.

by Anonymousreply 395March 9, 2021 2:40 PM

If that's plastic surgery, he looks great. Except for his awful nose job, that is. All he needed to get done was to have his original nose shape remain, but made smaller, not end up with that pointy mess on his face.

Now Trudie, she's a whole other story, her plastic surgery is awful. Not sure why she even had a nose job, she had a nice nose, it wasn't big at all.

Why was Sting even doing nude yoga? I gather he was on his property and a some paparazzi with very long lens took those pics or his publicist called the paps. I saw those pics many years ago. Sometimes I wonder if these celebs purposely do things like that, any publicity is better than none. That's a fact.

Sting is supposedly worth around $400 million.

Perhaps Sting is better off giving each of his kids a flat rate of money, a couple of million per kid, then tell them to invest it and basically take care of themselves? At the rate things are going, these adult children will never become independent. Sting should know better, especially as he grew up working class. Same with Trudie, she grew up super poor, in a home with an outhouse.

I don't understand why the children of wealthy people expect to be supported forever. These trust funders are so fucking annoying and entitled. Sting's son Joe is 44 and the eldest daughter, Katherine Fuchsia, is 38.

His kids with Trudie are: 37, 35, 30 and 25. It's about time to get independent!

by Anonymousreply 399March 9, 2021 4:01 PM

It’s funny because Sting used to go and on to the press about he wasn’t going to leave them anything. He said “I will not build a cocoon for another human being.” It’s odd that the kids have no work ethic and all chose professions where their father’s name would actually work against them. So now he’s left building a LOT of cocoons.

by Anonymousreply 400March 9, 2021 4:45 PM

Do they all have no work ethic? I don't think that's the case for all his kids.

I don't have a problem with Joe and Eliot being musicians and Fushia and Mickey following in their actress mothers footsteps, but it's their expectation of automatically being supported because their father is rich, that's ridiculous.

Sting, while he's alive, is better off simply doling out some millions to each of them. Trudie sure never brought any massive wealth into that marriage. Last I heard, she's been a 'producer', sure, with Sting's money.

In this photo, the two oldest kids with Sting's ex Frances, Joe and Fuchsia are to the right. Fuchsia looks exactly like her mother. On the far right, that's Mickey, Sting's actress daughter with Trudie. Not sure who she looks like. Mickey has a big nose, but that's not Sting's original nose or Trudies.

I don't recall Trudie having a big pointy nose. Her nose was kind of 'bulby', but not large or pointy.
