The Gays and Tennis Part 66: end of the season!
so Medvedev won the Paris masters over scandal-plagued Zverev 5-7 6-4 6-1 for his first title of the year, now the 2 are tied with 3 masters each
This week we have a men's event in Sofia but no hometown hero Dimitrov and the ladies are in Linz without defending champ Gauff.

Hot daddy Taylor Fritz thirst trap photo
|by Anonymous||reply 3||11/09/2020|
he's too thin
shocking to see Cilic get destroyed by Jonas Forejtek (who?)
|by Anonymous||reply 4||11/09/2020|
With Forejtek win i just watched some number who show how ahead Felix and Sinner are from their peers.
Wins on an atp main draw from players born in 2000 and under
FAA (62) Wild (7) Molleker (4) Korda (3) Gaston (3) Kuhn (2)
Sinner (25) Nakashima (3) Forejtek (1)
Wild is probably the strangest case because he won a title (the only one of the bunch who won one) but he is not even top 100
|by Anonymous||reply 5||11/10/2020|
R4 Forejtek was a former junior number one, he won the US Open junior last year.
A lot of potential but pretty awful year till this victory. With this win he jumps to number 355 in the ranking
|by Anonymous||reply 6||11/10/2020|
Do you refer to Wild Card?
|by Anonymous||reply 7||11/10/2020|
No, to Thiago Seyboth Wild
|by Anonymous||reply 8||11/10/2020|
And Felix is on the verge of losing with Caruso.
This draw was supposed to be perfect for him winning his first title
|by Anonymous||reply 10||11/11/2020|
yikes the Sofia draw has completely fallen apart. At this point I'd expect the winner of de Minaur/Sinner to take the title.
FAA losing to Caruso is another headscratcher he must be tired after the last several weeks. His last 2 losses were quite poor
|by Anonymous||reply 12||11/11/2020|
It's not only that he lose to Caruso (who had a pretty good year) it's that he didn't even have the chance to win a set.
He needs to rest and start next season at the best possible level. He needs to win a tournament as soon as possible and reach at least quarterfinals on a GS to really believe in his chances
|by Anonymous||reply 13||11/11/2020|
Domi is Austria's Sportsman of the Year
|by Anonymous||reply 14||11/12/2020|
The ATP Finals draw is out:
|by Anonymous||reply 15||11/12/2020|
wow Schwartzman is in with the 3 assholes. He'll likely be the pass around bottom but I hope he can somehow reach the SF.
I really want to see how improved Rublev is. I'd love to see him blast Nadal off the court
|by Anonymous||reply 16||11/12/2020|
Diego has very little chances no matter the group. This is not the type of surface he likes and the rest are better on indoor hardcourts.
Tsitsipas better bring last year level or he will lose a lot of points.
I think there are good chances that Nole and Rafa get eliminated before semifinals
|by Anonymous||reply 19||11/12/2020|
I think the first year-end championships were held in Tokyo in 1970. So it's the 50th edition this year
Berrettini and Shapovalov are the alternates, Monfils and Raonic declined
|by Anonymous||reply 21||11/12/2020|
Melzer/Roger Vasselin are the last double team to qualify for London Finals as they won their semifinal in Sofia. Even if they win the final, Murray/Skupski can't pass them now
|by Anonymous||reply 22||11/13/2020|
And Sinner will play his first final
|by Anonymous||reply 25||11/13/2020|
And tomorrow Sinner will win!
|by Anonymous||reply 26||11/13/2020|
I so want Nadal to win the Finals so he can get that monkey off his back. But no way he wins this.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||11/13/2020|
He'll be lucky if he makes semifinals.
If he wins against Rublev he has a big chance of making at least semifinals because i can't see Tsitsipas defeating him (unless he is in better form than in recent tournaments).
Of course his match against Rublev is difficult to predict, he crushed Andrey the only time they played but that was ages ago and Rublev is playing very well on indoor hardcourts.
Anyway he has more chances in his group than with Medvedev and Zverev
|by Anonymous||reply 28||11/13/2020|
Double Finals draw
GROUP BOB BRYAN
Mate Pavic/Bruno Soares
Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos
John Peers/Michael Venus
Jurgen Melzer/Edouard Roger-Vasselin
GROUP MIKE BRYAN
Rajeev Ram/Joe Salisbury
Kevin Krawietz/Andreas Mies
Wesley Koolhof/Nikola Mektic
Lukasz Kubot/Marcelo Melo
|by Anonymous||reply 29||11/13/2020|
Sinner won the first set on the final 64
|by Anonymous||reply 31||11/14/2020|
I think Sinner’s one of the most interesting youngsters in ages. Destined for greatness.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||11/14/2020|
I think the same. His groundstrokes are very clean and he is a very pleasurable player to watch. I think he'll be a top 20 player soon.
He won't be seeded in Australia, so a seeded player will suffer for that
|by Anonymous||reply 33||11/14/2020|
and Pospisil won the second one 63
Vasek is having a pretty good year
|by Anonymous||reply 34||11/14/2020|
Since second set, Sinner is making tons of errors in the first shot after the service
|by Anonymous||reply 35||11/14/2020|
I agree R32. Sinner could have an incredible career.
|by Anonymous||reply 37||11/14/2020|
Sinner is fun to watch. I'd love to see him draw Nadal, Djokovic or Zverev in the first round of next year's AO and knock them out.
Pospisil is now a 3 time loser in finals. Who knows how many more chances he'll have since he's 30
|by Anonymous||reply 39||11/14/2020|
Agree with the Sinner love. He appears to have "it." Love his red hair too although it is currently shapeless.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||11/14/2020|
would be funny to see Murray play Sinner next year
old red vs. new red
|by Anonymous||reply 41||11/14/2020|
Murray should just retire. He will get crushed by Sinner.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||11/14/2020|
Bernard Tomic is dating "an" OnlyFans model (Vanessa Sierra)
|by Anonymous||reply 43||11/15/2020|
I was going to post the same.
Good for him, he needs to look for work and it's obvious tennis is not his thing
|by Anonymous||reply 44||11/15/2020|
Well, R43, he was always a class act.....
|by Anonymous||reply 45||11/15/2020|
Thiem beats Titsy in the first London match
|by Anonymous||reply 46||11/15/2020|
Has anyone subscribed to her OF to keep us informed of the level of Tomic’s participation?
|by Anonymous||reply 47||11/15/2020|
I don't know if it's any demand to watch Tomic
|by Anonymous||reply 48||11/15/2020|
love me some Vasek, now and forever
|by Anonymous||reply 49||11/15/2020|
so far Rublev is still being 1 dimensional as ever, unable to deal with Nadal's heavy topspin. Just like last week he lost to Wawrinka. I would have thought playing Nadal indoors would have given him more of a chance
Nadal is playing well though
|by Anonymous||reply 50||11/15/2020|
It was only one break, but the truth is he had no break points and he only put pressure in one of Nadal's serves
|by Anonymous||reply 51||11/15/2020|
And Rublev's starts the second set losing his serve.
If he is not able to cause trouble to Rafa on this surface there's no hope for him against Nadal
|by Anonymous||reply 52||11/15/2020|
miserable opening game in the second by Rublev
|by Anonymous||reply 53||11/15/2020|
Nadal is going to be in semis, Tsitsipas always have trouble against him and now he'll have to play with a lot of pressure
|by Anonymous||reply 54||11/15/2020|
Nadal is playing well but very disappointing performance from Rublev. He's improved this year but clearly struggles against players who don't hit with the usual amount of spin
|by Anonymous||reply 55||11/15/2020|
Nadal played very well today. It was surprising...,
|by Anonymous||reply 56||11/15/2020|
Andy Roddick has become a great commentator....I like him a lot on Tennis channel
|by Anonymous||reply 57||11/15/2020|
Tomic has a nice ass, I'd rather see that than that cheap ho twat
|by Anonymous||reply 58||11/15/2020|
Don't waste your money, R58. Tomic shows more in R43 than he does on the OF site.
|by Anonymous||reply 59||11/15/2020|
Novaxx and li'l Diego. I have seen training sessions more competitive than this match. And Novaxx does a little longer praying to heaven and the boobs out are still directed to the empty stands. He is the Momma Rose of the Tennis world.
|by Anonymous||reply 60||11/16/2020|
R58 Come on, she is hot on a cheap way, he is homely with an awful personality
|by Anonymous||reply 61||11/16/2020|
I knew Schwartzman would be useless at this tournament. He's fun to watch on clay and outdoor hard but faster surfaces he's helpless.
|by Anonymous||reply 62||11/16/2020|
The worst part is that he started the match pretty well, he was the one who got the break first.
I have the feeling Nole is going to suffer with Zverev and Medvedev.
Probably Rafa will get in trouble with Thiem, but he has a very clear h2h against Tsitsipas and Stefanos is not at his best right now
|by Anonymous||reply 63||11/16/2020|
Team Daniil. Can't stand even looking at that git Zverev.,
|by Anonymous||reply 64||11/16/2020|
as much as I don't like Medvedev, I'll take him over an alleged abuser any day
|by Anonymous||reply 65||11/16/2020|
Playing like that Nole is going to destroy them
|by Anonymous||reply 66||11/16/2020|
That was a pretty dismal affair. The only good thing, David Ferrer still looks great.
|by Anonymous||reply 67||11/16/2020|
Med unfollowed Zverev on insta. ouch!
|by Anonymous||reply 68||11/16/2020|
Oooh, do tell, r68. Why do you think he did that?
|by Anonymous||reply 69||11/16/2020|
Med's a character. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, but always a character, I like that. And his strokes/game are unique and sort of funky.
|by Anonymous||reply 70||11/16/2020|
FWIW, R69, I think that Zverev’s ex said that he beat her because she was taking too long talking to Medvedev’s wife instead of promptly returning to the hotel with him.
|by Anonymous||reply 71||11/16/2020|
If Medvedev dislikes him the rest of the Russian gang will soon follow. I doubt Zverev has many friends left on tour.
|by Anonymous||reply 72||11/16/2020|
reading a prepared statement from his phone during the press conference
|by Anonymous||reply 73||11/17/2020|
people are going off in the comments
|by Anonymous||reply 74||11/17/2020|
It seems to be the consensus that A. Zverev is a cunt.
|by Anonymous||reply 75||11/17/2020|
Med’s wife and Zverev’s ex are friends. I thought it was odd/creepy the way he gave her a shout out after the Paris final.
|by Anonymous||reply 76||11/17/2020|
Is it possible to be a dick and a cunt at the same time, Mary?
|by Anonymous||reply 77||11/17/2020|
2nd tie break in the never-ending Thiem-Nadal match.
|by Anonymous||reply 78||11/17/2020|
"Mary Carillo, digging deep to be insightful"
R75, you don't know how much this made me laugh.
Also "dropping her voice even lower and semi-whispering to sound insightful."
|by Anonymous||reply 79||11/17/2020|
Tsitsipas started the match very well, but losing the second 0-40 with your serve is not a good sign
|by Anonymous||reply 81||11/17/2020|
Rublev probably really shouldn't have had a match point to begin with, but he did and then to double fault? Ouch.
|by Anonymous||reply 83||11/17/2020|
I'm watching the Tennis Channel replay of the Thiem-Nadal match, and the lighting makes it seem as if Domicakes is wearing makeup on court.
|by Anonymous||reply 84||11/17/2020|
It looks like Djokovic and Pospisil are now asking to be reinstated/reelected onto the ATP Players' Council. If true, this means that their attempt to form an alternative players' union has failed, and if it has failed there are probably only two possible reasons:
1) players aren't interested in alternatives to the ATP
2) players don't trust Djokovic to organize/run an alternative structure to the ATP.
Either way, egg/face/Djokovic.
|by Anonymous||reply 85||11/18/2020|
They drummed you out of the PTPA, so you come crawling back to the Player’s Council. But the ATP doesn't go for booze and dope. Now get out of my way, I've got a man waiting for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 86||11/18/2020|
Mate Pavic is hot. He appears to be pretty fantastic at playing doubles as well.
|by Anonymous||reply 87||11/18/2020|
I think they just elected substitutes to the council so i doubt they want them back.
Zverev refuses to talk about his personal life, and it's probably for the best
|by Anonymous||reply 88||11/18/2020|
lmao fuck those right wing nutjobs DJokovic and Pospisil
egg on their faces!
|by Anonymous||reply 89||11/18/2020|
when Medvedev is playing a competitive match, he gets this boyish, stupefied expression on his face
|by Anonymous||reply 90||11/18/2020|
Medvedev with the first set!
He's now taken Murray's place as third best grinder on tour
|by Anonymous||reply 91||11/18/2020|
and he is up 3-0 in the second!
|by Anonymous||reply 92||11/18/2020|
I would like to see Djoker lose. Come on Med.
|by Anonymous||reply 93||11/18/2020|
And Medvedev does what we’d all like to do—give Djokovic a good rogering.
|by Anonymous||reply 95||11/18/2020|
To be honest i was expecting Daniil to win, but it was way easier than i was expecting
|by Anonymous||reply 96||11/18/2020|
this way Novak will avoid Rafa in the semis, right?
|by Anonymous||reply 97||11/18/2020|
[quote] He's now taken Murray's place as third best grinder on tour
But he’ll never be among the Big Four.
|by Anonymous||reply 98||11/18/2020|
Is Round Robin in tournament?
|by Anonymous||reply 99||11/18/2020|
awkward chest bump between Nikola Mektic and Wesley Koolhof lol
|by Anonymous||reply 101||11/19/2020|
Mektic is quite fuckable.
|by Anonymous||reply 102||11/19/2020|
Andy Roddick looks bizarre with that half-assed mustache he has now. It’s a different color than his hair (reddish-brown as opposed to brown). It’s as if he has difficulty growing facial hair.
|by Anonymous||reply 103||11/19/2020|
Roddick's pornstache is ridiculous. But, I'm here for it.
|by Anonymous||reply 104||11/19/2020|
I hope Tsitsipas beats Nadal today. If he can't beat him on this surface, that would be ridiculous.
|by Anonymous||reply 105||11/19/2020|
I had a feeling Rublev would defeat Thiem today.
|by Anonymous||reply 106||11/19/2020|
Of course Rublev was going to win. Thiem relax once he gets what he wants and you need to put your all to defeat Rublev nowadays.
R105 Tsitsipas could defeat Nadal in any surface, the problem is Nadal can do exactly the same but with better chances. I don't think Stefanos is in good enough form to pull a surprise
|by Anonymous||reply 107||11/19/2020|
Stefanos is good enough but he lacks the killer instinct.
|by Anonymous||reply 108||11/19/2020|
Mektic/Koolhof and Ram/Salinsbury qualfy for semifinali
Now let's go to the dramas
Kubot will play with Koolhof in 2021
Pavic will play with Mektic
Melo gets Rojer
Soares goes back to Murray
Melzer retires and Roger-Vasselin will partner with Kontinen
|by Anonymous||reply 109||11/19/2020|
Rafa wins in 3. Yeah, Titsy doesn't have the will. Rafa still does.
|by Anonymous||reply 110||11/19/2020|
Rafa will probably play till hes 50 lol
|by Anonymous||reply 111||11/19/2020|
I tried to watch but Nadal is too annoying.....his mannerisms are TOO much for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 112||11/19/2020|
omg I'm so sick of over 30 Nadal outlasting almost everyone
Tsitsipas seemed flat in the third maybe he was tired. Just weird after he won the second that he collapsed
|by Anonymous||reply 113||11/19/2020|
You would think that Novaxx match would be in the afternoon/evening and the Rublev in the morning.... does anyone know why?
|by Anonymous||reply 115||11/20/2020|
The Djokovic match IS on in the afternoon.
|by Anonymous||reply 116||11/20/2020|
It is on right now vs Zverev (afternoon in Europe, early morning in the US), prime time (Friday evening in Europe, afternoon in the US) is reserved fro Medvedev vs. Li'l Diego, a match that has no consequences whatsoever.
|by Anonymous||reply 117||11/20/2020|
More time for Zverev to find other women to abuse.
|by Anonymous||reply 119||11/20/2020|
I'll take Novak over that stupid punk any day of the week.
|by Anonymous||reply 120||11/20/2020|
I'll take multiple choice C) none of the above.
|by Anonymous||reply 121||11/20/2020|
It's a shame Zverev didn't win. It would have been nice to see him beat someone that wasn't his girlfriend.
|by Anonymous||reply 122||11/20/2020|
so it's all on Thiem and Medvedev whether they can stop the endless domination of Nadal and Djokovic.
|by Anonymous||reply 123||11/20/2020|
Granollers/Zeballos retires because of Granollers' problems at a shoulder in the tiebreak of first set against Melzer/Roger-Vasselin
Melzer/R-V qualify for the semifinals along with....Granollers/Zaballos....let's see if G/Z play tomorrow
|by Anonymous||reply 124||11/20/2020|
R113 Tsitsipas is not in good form, as simple as that. He spends too much time in social media instead of improving his fitness.
It happened the same against Nole in Roland Garros, it's not normal that you end exhausted when your rivel (which is more than ten years older) is in way better shape at the end of the match.
I want new players winning big titles but most of then doesn't have the hunger that Rafa or Nole had when they were their age
|by Anonymous||reply 125||11/20/2020|
R118 I'm not that sure. Nole has to play a lot better he is playing if he wants to defeat Thiem.
And Medvedev is playing really well, he choked last year against Nadal, but he was dominating that much clearly before failing big time
|by Anonymous||reply 126||11/20/2020|
Daniil is looking good tonight; playing well.
|by Anonymous||reply 127||11/20/2020|
[quote] Melzer/R-V qualify for the semifinals along with....Granollers/Zaballos... - .let's see if G/Z play tomorrow
It’s doubles match.
|by Anonymous||reply 128||11/20/2020|
I presume you mean his game, R127.
|by Anonymous||reply 129||11/20/2020|
R129 Well, Daniil looks have some fans on this site
|by Anonymous||reply 130||11/20/2020|
That’s some bullshit. I wanted Bruno and Mate to win.
|by Anonymous||reply 131||11/20/2020|
I’m glad that Fassbender’s lookalike beat shitty Granollers/Zeballos.
|by Anonymous||reply 134||11/21/2020|
[quote] I’m glad that Fassbender’s lookalike
Who is that?
|by Anonymous||reply 135||11/21/2020|
Thiem can never put Djokovic away in straight sets
he had THREE match points in the second set tiebreak but ended up fucking up . Then he was down 2-4 in the third set tiebreak before winning 7-5
at least he won finally
|by Anonymous||reply 136||11/21/2020|
Yeah, R136, Thiem seems to love to complicate things for himself. Think about the US Open when he played like shit for two sets. In the second set tiebreak today, Thiem blew those match points and couldn't get his serve in toward the end of the tiebreaker. Really frustrating to watch him do that.
I hope Medvedev can take out Nadal. What I'd really like to see, though, is two young guys battling it out in the Australian Open final and not one of the Big 3 winning it. But it's probably going to be one of the Big 3. It was pathetic the way all those bitches rolled over for Nadal at the French.
|by Anonymous||reply 140||11/21/2020|
R136 He was 4-0 in the last tie break, and he won. He won the last 5 tie breaks against Nadal.
Nole is probably the best player on tie breaks, it was a tough match, but Domi won.
And Medvedev has chances against Nadal, he was winning quite easily last year before choking big time
|by Anonymous||reply 141||11/21/2020|
R140 To be fair, this was one of those years were Nadal is very superior to his rivals at RG. The only one who put pressure on him was Sinner, unfortunately he was unable to deal with the pressure on the key momments
|by Anonymous||reply 142||11/21/2020|
[quote] I’m glad that Fassbender’s lookalike beat shitty Granollers/Zeballos.
It’s doubles match.
|by Anonymous||reply 143||11/21/2020|
Djokovic out, though Thiem was down 0/4 in the third set tiebreak. Now let’s hope Medvedev takes out Nadal.
|by Anonymous||reply 144||11/21/2020|
Melzer/Roger-Vasselin have more lives than cats in this tournament
|by Anonymous||reply 145||11/21/2020|
I don't know, Medvedev is putting some pressure on Rafa's serve (while winning quite easily his own) but when you miss opportunities against Rafa you end regretting it
|by Anonymous||reply 146||11/21/2020|
And as expected at the first opportunity he tanks his serve
|by Anonymous||reply 147||11/21/2020|
Rafa team or Medvedev team?
|by Anonymous||reply 148||11/21/2020|
Medvedev's forehand sometimes is a fluff shot that sits up waiting to be whacked and Nadal is whacking it. He needs to flatten it out more.
|by Anonymous||reply 149||11/21/2020|
At least Daniil reacted 3-0 for him in the second set
|by Anonymous||reply 150||11/21/2020|
But again after wasting break points Nadal break his serve
|by Anonymous||reply 151||11/21/2020|
this has turned into a very weird match by both
|by Anonymous||reply 152||11/21/2020|
Nadal served at 5-4 in the second for the match. From that point on he's had loads of uncharacteristic misses both forehand and backhand
Medvedev has hung around and is finally being more aggressive. For most of the match he was just reacting to Nadal
|by Anonymous||reply 154||11/21/2020|
Wow, Med took it.
Domi v Daniil, that's good shit.
|by Anonymous||reply 156||11/21/2020|
an error ridden finish for Nadal
glad he's out but that was bizarre
|by Anonymous||reply 157||11/21/2020|
nadal was very strange today. After he failed to serve for the match....lots of strange errors for him. I have a feeling that Thiem wins tomorrow.
|by Anonymous||reply 158||11/21/2020|
the top 10 guys have now proven they can stop the big 3 at every event except slams. That's the next step
I do think there is hope for the 2021 AO though
|by Anonymous||reply 159||11/21/2020|
so Nadal once again comes up short at the WTF.
big glaring absence in his resume
|by Anonymous||reply 160||11/21/2020|
Roddick's mustache is atrocious
|by Anonymous||reply 161||11/21/2020|
Team Daniil! I always think he looks like a very, very tall 14 year-old with a fake beard.
|by Anonymous||reply 164||11/21/2020|
He does look like an overgrown boy.
|by Anonymous||reply 165||11/21/2020|
[quote]Mery Xisca is not happy

|by Anonymous||reply 166||11/21/2020|
R159 hopefully the 2021 Aus Open gets played. Might be pushed back due to covid.
|by Anonymous||reply 167||11/21/2020|
Xisca + Rafael = True Love
|by Anonymous||reply 168||11/21/2020|
Fassbender’s lookalike wins double match tournament
|by Anonymous||reply 170||11/22/2020|
but who gets to keep the trophy?
|by Anonymous||reply 172||11/22/2020|
Sorry I didn’t elaborate on who Fassy’s lookalike was!
|by Anonymous||reply 173||11/22/2020|
Well, Daniil is a break up in the third and he is the one having the opportunities to break, so unless Thiem rise his level he'll lose the final for a second year in a row
|by Anonymous||reply 174||11/22/2020|
Which network is it even being shown on in the US? I can't find it! I thought it was going to be on the Tennis Channel.
|by Anonymous||reply 175||11/22/2020|
Club Med someone ahead in this match.
I'm not a big Thiem fan. I don't actively dislike him, but he as and his unflattering shorts do nothing for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 176||11/22/2020|
[quote] ut he as and his unflattering shorts do nothing for me.
|by Anonymous||reply 177||11/22/2020|
Thanks, R178. My listing shows ESPN2 as showing 2020 Spikeball College Series: The Lost Season.

Medvedev looks like a dispossessed Russian royal of the early 20th century with bad hygiene.
|by Anonymous||reply 180||11/22/2020|
R180, that’s the thing: Medvedev is, at least, very distinctive. I’ve been watching Thiem for years now and I have no idea who he is. He doesn’t seem have a personality that comes across on court.
|by Anonymous||reply 182||11/22/2020|
I'll take Thiem's bland personality over Medvedev's abrasive, abusive one any day.
|by Anonymous||reply 184||11/22/2020|
R182 Curiously he seems to be one of the most liked players and it's not like Nadal or Federer have big personalities. Thiem has a big game and that should be enough
|by Anonymous||reply 185||11/22/2020|
I thought that Thiem was going to win it.....but crazy Medvedev won. I do not like him but I think his tantrums are entertaining. I hope that one day we can have simultaneous subtitling of whatever he says during the match.
|by Anonymous||reply 186||11/22/2020|
Medvedev was able to withstand the barrage of Thiem's winners and capitalized on his errors in the second and third sets. He also somehow was more consistent than Djokovic and Nadal this week. Not my favorite style of play but he just defeated the top 3 players in 1 week. That's a good stat
don't like his personality either but I'm just glad it was not another Nadal vs. Djokovic borefest
|by Anonymous||reply 187||11/22/2020|
People want another nadal/djoko match, they dont want thiem/ zverev like at us open or thiem/med
|by Anonymous||reply 188||11/22/2020|
I definitely don't want another nadal-djoko match. I've seen it enough.
|by Anonymous||reply 189||11/22/2020|
I think Med is fascinating, his game I mean. It's not something I've seen before, I'm not quite sure how to describe it.
|by Anonymous||reply 190||11/22/2020|
R189 it is not only about match. It is about bein goat, djoko will get 18th slam or not, nadal will 21th being the best of all time or maybe fed will win being 40. Nobody cares about match like rublev/ tsitsipas
|by Anonymous||reply 191||11/22/2020|
I seem to be the only person who likes Daniil including his looks and personality. He at least has some charisma and does well speaking. I'll take him over someone like Naomi Osaka every day of the week.
|by Anonymous||reply 192||11/22/2020|
I think Medvedev is handsome. He also seems very likable in interviews.
|by Anonymous||reply 193||11/22/2020|
Medvedev reminds me of Tomic in terms of look, particularly in the face.
|by Anonymous||reply 194||11/22/2020|
Fed will be lucky to get one more slam. Father time is undefeated. Especially to athletes over 40.
|by Anonymous||reply 196||11/22/2020|
I'd like to see Fed get lucky like Nadal has the last few years. So many Slam draws fell apart or players just handed the match to Nadal over and over. Fed should be at 21 but he totally blew it against Djokovic at Wimbledon in 2019.
Speaking of blowing it, Thiem is so frustrating to watch. He has the match in hand and then starts blowing it. He's admitted he gets tight. He needs to overcome that.
|by Anonymous||reply 197||11/23/2020|
Also, now that the AO is in question, I wonder how it will affect older players. If it had been a normal year, Novaxx could have easily won Wimbledon. Federer (injured) would have dropped to... 30? and would have had a far more difficult path to a GS. Covid worked well for him since it saved all his points from 2019. I think Covid will place some kind of invisible asterisks next to some players.
|by Anonymous||reply 198||11/23/2020|
I want to watch a GS without a big 3 and with all of them in the draw.
I want a reminiscent of late 90's wta with new players and the old ones fighting for GS.
And i want young new players making an impact next year, i want they put some pressure on the Tsitsipas, Zverev and company. Some of them think they'll win GS when the big 3 retires and i want some new players showing them they better rush to do it

Former New York mayor and tennis fan/supporter David Dinkins has died.
|by Anonymous||reply 200||11/23/2020|
Dinkins remembers his friend Arthur Ashe.
R198, without COVID-adjusted rankings for 2020 events and factoring in only those tournament that did get played, Federer's current rank would be #27. Raonic would be #9, PCB #10, Garin #12, Ruud #14, FAA #16, Coric #18, and Sinner #24. Berrettini would have plummeted from #10 to #31 and Fognini from #17 to #63. The rankings adjusted for COVID are logic free.

He's the reason we have the present US Open ground in NYC. It's pretty fabulous even if Ashe stadium is a monstrosity.

Looks like the Aussie Open will be delayed til Feb 1, which will push around some ATP 250s
|by Anonymous||reply 203||Last Wednesday at 9:37 AM|
I didn’t realize that Taylor Fritz was already divorced. He’s lived quite a life for 23 year old.
|by Anonymous||reply 204||Last Wednesday at 9:43 AM|
will the extra 250s all be in Australia?
|by Anonymous||reply 205||Last Wednesday at 10:41 AM|
lmao the right wingers and pampered top players aren't going to like being quarantined in Australia for a whole month
their entitlement is going to be hilarious for hate-watching
|by Anonymous||reply 206||Last Wednesday at 10:42 AM|
Let's be honest, i don't understand how the US Open was able to manage the tournament and the austrlians are having so much trouble.
Two weeks of delay is not that much, but during a while they talked about playing in april, which means push all the clay season.
And i hope they play qualifications, because they were talking about skipping them (like they'll do with the junior tournament)

R209 Is it the alleged sexting with the underage girl?
|by Anonymous||reply 210||Last Wednesday at 2:26 PM|
Big deal. You don't think all of those tennis pros (really, all pro athletes) aren't horn dogs as well? Let me guess: you've never had sex yourself and are saving yourself for the one-and-only to marry? Bitch, please.

The dumbest thing about 2020 was the French Open happening 2 weeks after the US Open. The French hate Nadal, but their choice guaranteed Nadal another French Open. All his main competition was gassed from a grueling US Open. Way to go, stupid Frenchies!
|by Anonymous||reply 213||Last Thursday at 3:48 AM|
R213 Sorry but nothing of that is true.
First, french hated Nadal, now they simply recognize that he is the best player on their tournament by far. The times they cheered his opponents are long gone. Maybe if he plays against a french or Federer, but not against any other player.
Second, the conditions of this Roland Garros were clearly against Rafa. The time of the year, the roof, the lack of clay season. He was not even playing that well on Rome, so saying anything was made to guarantee another Nadal's win is ridiculous
|by Anonymous||reply 214||Last Thursday at 4:42 AM|
Sure, R214. Nadal not playing the US Open while his main rivals played and were tired had NOTHING to do with it. Uh huh. I have a lot of French friends who are tennis fans. They all say most French people hate Nadal while still respecting him. I'm the same way. I respect him, but it doesn't change that I can't stand him.
LOL to your saying the conditions at RG were against Nadal. Clay, no matter what time of year or lack of clay season, ALWAYS favors Nadal. And he played fine in Rome. Diego just played practically the match of his life. Nadal is the greatest on clay ever. He was always the favorite coming into that tournament. The fact that the US Open was played two weeks before and the only men who could take him down were gassed just raised those odds even higher and all but guaranteed another French for him. Also the fact that Djokovic did not show up with his A game in the final helped a lot.
This year, I'd love to see someone finally take it to Nadal at the French, even if he loses. So many just give up, like Djokovic did this year and has in the past.
|by Anonymous||reply 215||Last Thursday at 8:11 AM|
I have lived in Paris for 9 years and I have been many times to RG. At the beginning, the French hated Nadal because they wanted Federer to win...but now the French love Nadal. Go and check L'équipe or other French newspapers the day after Nadal wins.

Next year, dear. Next year.
|by Anonymous||reply 217||Last Thursday at 9:48 AM|
yeah I think if Nadal had played the USO he might not have won RG this year. Unless he lost in the first 3 rounds, he wouldn't have had all the rest and practice time he likes to have.

Will Qualifier and Lucky Loser not play Aussie Open?

Pliskbot has hired Sascha.
|by Anonymous||reply 231||Last Saturday at 1:11 PM|
lmao Sascha is the Dani Vallverdu of the WTA. Kinda ironica that she just fired Vallverdu too
|by Anonymous||reply 233||Last Saturday at 10:23 PM|
Sascha and Yastremska ended in a pretty bad note.
Anyway, to change her brainless ballbashing ways must be a really hard work.
Pliskova really needs to change something, she tanked a good opportunity this year to win a GS, failing big time at the US Open and Roland Garros
|by Anonymous||reply 234||Yesterday at 1:06 AM|
Pliskova comes across as pretty brainless in general. Her Instagram profile pic looks right out of Prague's backpages.
