I am getting excited!!!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 6, 2020 10:04 AM |
Do we know how many ballots are left in PA? I'm looking and not finding recent numbers.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 6, 2020 10:05 AM |
Yasss! Biden has it in the bag.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 6, 2020 10:05 AM |
Please someone update me on the military votes in Georgia.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 6, 2020 10:05 AM |
Someone must have pointed out his flawed logic: if Dems were gonna commit fraud to win the presidency, why not try to regain control of the senate as well?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 6, 2020 10:06 AM |
Did something happen in PA? I could have sworn earlier they were tied and now Orange is at 49.6 with Biden at 49.4?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 6, 2020 10:06 AM |
Now Joe's listed as 49.3... in PA.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 6, 2020 10:08 AM |
Twitter also flagged his little temper tantrum last night. Omg this must KILL him!!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 6, 2020 10:11 AM |
BREAKING: Stephanie Saul, in New York 1m ago
In Georgia, Biden increased his lead to 1,096 over Trump after another batch of ballots came in from Clayton County, a deep blue county just south of Atlanta.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 6, 2020 10:12 AM |
In GA, Biden has gone up to 1093 votes ahead.
The most recent PA numbers have Trump ahead but by less and less each time, as you can see in this thread, R9. The gap is closing but very slowly.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | November 6, 2020 10:13 AM |
Weird to see Chris Cuomo on CNN in the morning.,
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 6, 2020 10:14 AM |
PA has ~8,800 military ballots that are still out. The deadline for their return is today. Military ballots that have already been returned and counted were much higher for Biden than expected.
We can expect a "STOP COUNTING LOSER MILITARY BALLOTS!!!" tweet before the end of the day.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 6, 2020 10:16 AM |
Did it take like four hours to max out thread 13? Holy shit.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | November 6, 2020 10:18 AM |
GA is heavy military, their votes come after the absentees.
But active-duty military lean BIDEN!!
by Anonymous | reply 16 | November 6, 2020 10:18 AM |
R14, not all of them are expected to be received. Only the ones who make it back by deadline will count. I doubt those matter at all here. Same in GA.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | November 6, 2020 10:19 AM |
Allegheny County (PA) still has 30,000 ballots to count today.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | November 6, 2020 10:23 AM |
Disregard my whole post at R14. Steve Kornacki was talking about it earlier and definitely gave 8,800 as the number of sent-out-but-no-one-knows-if-they'll-be-returned ballots but I'm so exhausted that I can't remember now if he was talking about PA or GA.
That's it. I'm really going to bed this time.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | November 6, 2020 10:24 AM |
PA numbers are closer than expected. I don't see 100K+ lead for Biden in the end as some were predicting. I doubt they will call anything today if it's so close.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | November 6, 2020 10:28 AM |
Georgia and Nevada should bring it home today. PA is icing on the cake.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 6, 2020 10:29 AM |
Biden is ahead in AZ too with 50.1% and 90% counted R21.
This could be a larger number than we expected! The larger it is the better. Because those rancid Dump MAGAts are going to spend the next 4 years screeching about stolen elections and conspiracy theories otherwise. They will anyway - but the larger the number the less legitimacy they have.
I'm so tired.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | November 6, 2020 10:34 AM |
R20 I was just gonna say that earlier today. The gap is closing too slowly for him to win with 100k as people predicted. He might still pull off a win, but it will be close.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | November 6, 2020 10:34 AM |
I’m not gonna float until it’s in the bag for Joe. After that, I will gloat and dance to YMCA!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | November 6, 2020 10:35 AM |
94 % counted in Penn and Dump is still in the lead with 18k. Is it possible for Biden to catch up?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | November 6, 2020 10:36 AM |
I will be thrilled if Joe and Kamala pull off Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada. Talk about decisive. Dump can scream and wail all that he wants but no one will care - including his goons in the SCOTUS.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | November 6, 2020 10:39 AM |
Gosh R26, if only there was a 24 hour news channel that would tell us that.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | November 6, 2020 10:39 AM |
2016 was decided by 77K votes across 3 States for Trump. I don’t care by how many votes Joe wins in PA, Georgia, Nevada, or Arizona as long as he wins.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | November 6, 2020 10:39 AM |
R25 "I'm not gonna float..."

by Anonymous | reply 32 | November 6, 2020 10:39 AM |
R26 of course and then some. There are still tons outstanding and theyre all overwhelmingly Biden. It may not be 100k but it’s not particularly close either.

by Anonymous | reply 35 | November 6, 2020 10:40 AM |
94 % counted in Penn and Dump is still in the lead with 18k. Is it possible for Biden to catch up?
Yes. The remaining votes are coming from Philadelphia and Pittsburgh/Allegheny county.
Allegheny County (PA) still has 30,000 ballots to count today.
Slightly more than that.
They got in 500 ballots that were post marked in time yesterday and I'm sure more will come today.
They also have between 10 - 15,000 provisional ones they expect to find when they get to that.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | November 6, 2020 10:41 AM |
Nvm, I see they have 50k votes left to count in Pennsylvania. I'm starting to doubt Biden will be able to take it. He is behind by 28k votes. Trump will probably win Pennsylvania.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | November 6, 2020 10:42 AM |
He will anyway R35! You know it...
by Anonymous | reply 38 | November 6, 2020 10:42 AM |
Steve Kornacki said earlier tonight there were 54,000 ballots left in PA.
Recently Biden has been getting roughly 70% of the ballots in PA that have been recently added, which is closing the gap.
My rough calculations show that if that percentage holds for the remaining ballots, Biden will be ahead by about 3000 votes in PA when all votes are in.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | November 6, 2020 10:42 AM |
He's not behind by 28,000 votes, Biden is behind by 18,224 votes. You're off by 10,000 votes.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | November 6, 2020 10:43 AM |
Yeah, PA looks more like GA at this point.
Damn this is so nerve wrecking. You got to give to Dump, even his exit is fireworks and spectacle.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | November 6, 2020 10:45 AM |
Don't know if it's been mentioned on previous threads or, really if it bears mentioning, but as a Warren supporter it is clear to me based on the results of this election thus far that Joe Biden was the best candidate for these times. If anyone else had tried to have a got at it, Trump would've won in a landslide. Why? Misogyny, still an issue. Race, still an issue. And to people who say Bernie had a chance - and I like Bernie as an influencer - just look at how well the Trump campaign painted Biden/Harris as socialists. Quite clearly, facts don't matter.
Joe Biden was the only democratic candidate who could've pulled just enough of the centre in his direction to win this election and, in hindsight, we should be really grateful for that.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | November 6, 2020 10:46 AM |
r37 almost everything I've read points to Biden winning PA. The Biden campaign itself thinks they'll win it
by Anonymous | reply 43 | November 6, 2020 10:47 AM |
R39 more like 163k votes. But ok.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | November 6, 2020 10:47 AM |

Absolutely agree, and the temper tantrums the lefties online have been having these last few days because Bernie wasn't the candidate are just inappropriate and unseemly. We lost Florida because of the "socialism" propaganda, we would have lost a lot more states had an actual socialist been the candidate.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | November 6, 2020 10:48 AM |
You're completely right R42; Dump would've had a field day with Warren or Sanders as the candidate & Pete's just not ready yet. I know a lot of younger people don't care for Biden, but no other candidate could've pealed away the center & held together the left (granted, by being vague) the way he did.
Some day I hope we can look back & have a better understanding of the people in thrall to Dump when it's completely against their interest
by Anonymous | reply 47 | November 6, 2020 10:50 AM |
R42 Now we need to figure out who can do this again in four years. It wont be Kamala or Stacey , wokes need to be realistic!
by Anonymous | reply 48 | November 6, 2020 10:50 AM |
R42 - that is exactly why I was pushing for a Biden/Harris ticket from the moments that both announced their candidacy for the primaries. They are both essentially moderate Democrats and both work across race barriers. Any candidates that were too liberal were not going to be competitive in 2020. And the top of the ticket had to be a man (sad perhaps, but 100% true).
by Anonymous | reply 49 | November 6, 2020 10:51 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 50 | November 6, 2020 10:51 AM |
I think there are still over 100K in the whole state of Pennsylvania. Those 54K votes are just what's still out in Philly proper. There are 35K still to be counted in Pittsburgh plus many more in the Philly suburbs and Lehigh County.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | November 6, 2020 10:51 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 60 | November 6, 2020 10:57 AM |
In terms of the next election, one factor that no one is considering is that eventually it will come to light how Dump & Co. looted the Treasury, enriched themselves over COVID when people were dying right & left & sold us out to Russia & who knows who else at the expense of the American tax payer to pay their debts. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that the next couple of years are going to be economically tough & people will be looking for someone to blame. It's hard to imagine now how that will impact the national mood in regards to political parties.
by Anonymous | reply 61 | November 6, 2020 10:57 AM |
I think Trump voters are more terrified of having their taxes raised than anything.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | November 6, 2020 10:58 AM |
I am agnostic about Kamala and God knows I find her fans around here irrational tweens, but 2024 is so long from now. She can re-brand. She may actually learn a thing or two from Biden about the necessity of the center. I don’t think her 2024 viability is even a concern at this point personally. We are also used to being dominated by Trump, we forget the next four years are largely ours. We can change perception. We can do different. We can do normal. We are in power.
The one thing is and I’m gonna hammer on this Is Democrats need to put Mitch McConnell on the ballot in those two Georgia run offs. Because the threat to the future is Mitch McConnell in every respect.
We need to get bareknuckle around that asshole

Rolling my eyes at the comments about how we need to have another moderate DINO geriatric white man candidate in 2024.
You must realize that a large number of baby boomers are DYING in the next four years. And younger generations of liberals are not afraid of popular socialist policies. We don't share your values!
Honestly, the baby boomer moderates seem to think they'll be able to cement the status quo FOREVER immortally. Give it another 4 years. Old people dying is one of the biggest drivers of social and political change.

R65, I think you're missing the point. Just because Biden said he wouldn't raise taxes on anyone making over 400K, doesn't mean that people actually believed him. A couple of weeks before the election, there were ads running about how socialized medicine would raise everyone's taxes by $X amount of dollars. I'm assuming that since they were Republican ads, the numbers weren't correct - but for anyone living paycheck to paycheck, the thought of a tax increase is terrifying.
If we can gain moderate sane Republicans then we can dump the Socialists.
When Democrats and Republicans become indistinguishable because the Democrats have moved further right to accommodate voters who just aren't there (Repubs they think will suddenly flip for them,) then you will split the party. The progessive wing gets older and older every year and they are no less progressive they're just millennials in general who will be in their 40s next go round.
The better option is figuring out how to get people to vote and giving people the ability to vote that that are normally overlooked. The Dems would have more freedom if they got their ground game up. Also please remember all the stuff Trump did to stifle the vote. Can you imagine what the numbers would have been if the post office wasn't corrupted by him? Or he didn't come up with a new lie to spread about voting procedures every other hour? Hell, what if there was no gerrymandering and -- the point is there's a lot wrong with the system beyond the platform, especially this time.
As we heard during that call that leaked to WaPo earlier: people don't want to hear the word socialism, people don't want to hear about defunding the police BUT the real issue was from the attack ads being run by Republicans that scared the hell out of people and implied that they would be voting for Satan himself if they dared voted for a Democrat.
The funny thing is they also acknowledged that people DID like hearing about legalizing weed.

Major Garret on CBS Who has carried Trump’s water for 4 years is SO PISSED AT Trump and Trumpers for their behavior he is saying they have no basis for any legal action and that this result is just a reversed version of 2016. Basically saying if Trump doesn’t concede it doesn’t matter, if he doesn’t vacate the White House by Inauguration Day he is a TRESPASSER and will be removed as such. The GOP’ers usually give him comments he said complete silence from all of them since yesterday. Major G is a DIE HARD Republican sympathizer and he was visually and audibly angry at the President’s speech last night and his behavior. I’m so glad I saw this rant on CBS This Morning today. Obama got ahead of the tax increase narrative by directly stating he would raise taxes for the wealthy, lower if for the middle class. He was on the offensive. Biden waited until he was attacked for wanting to generally raise taxes to clarify his plans, and then his response was rather weak. For one thing, he should have proposed only raising taxes on people who make $1 million or more. Then he would have the simple message of only raising taxes on millionaires and billionaires. He should have also touted or Proposed tax credits or breaks for the middle class.

This is what is happening...
It is taking a long time because city have more people. More people more ballots. The cities are democratic, so biden will win. Districts with less people, less ballot are faster to count.
On top of this... trump is challenging ballots. Also, there have been threats to buildings and people.

Where we stand in PA this morning.
Pennsylvania has about 160k absentee ballots to count. Inclusing roughly 44k in Philadelphia and at least 30k in Pittsburgh.
Then there are also provisional ballots that will end up further padding Biden's margin.
Trump's current lead is at 18k.

The Republicans have a Nazi Problem. We have descended into Fascism, with a whole lot of Theocracy, because of the republican party. People are tossing out wall street candidates. R106, did you know that the Progressive Caucus in the House has tons and tons of news conferences outlining all the legislation that is getting passed by the House all the time? Ninety nine percent of people do not because the media doesn't cover them. The House has passed hundreds and hundreds of bills that the Repugs in the Senate have simply ignored. Do you see that fact covered, or even mentioned, anywhere?
Billionaires own the entire media complex. Reintroducing the Fairness Doctrine and de-monopolizing the communications industry need to be priorities. Along with campaign finance reform and legislating away the influence of Citizens United.

As far as Jamie Harrison goes - and Smiley Sara in Maine- I guess it shows the limitations of $$. Those two had a huge war chest at their disposal, but at the end of the day, voters chose the devil they knew. It just goes to show how hard it is to unseat a senior senator, even ones as unpopular as those two. It's probably a combination of localized corruption and voter suppression.
But I also think there's something wrong with polling, if only because it misses out on polling people who don't want to be polled. By its very nature it selects only for those who answer phones and emails and are willing to spend time being polled. In this day and age with spammers everywhere and paranoia running rampant, there's probably a lot of people that polling misses, and that throws the totals off.

Are Republicans trying to provide evidence of Trump's fraud claim after the fact?
Republican officials in Wisconsin sent an email to volunteers on THURSDAY urging them to contact Pennsylvania Trump supporters to get them to turn in their absentee ballots. This as Trump warns about votes coming in POST election day.
Some legal experts speculated that the campaign was encouraging these votes in hopes that one would be accepted, at which point they could petition courts to invalidate the entire pool of absentee ballots—including those properly postmarked by Nov. 3 and received by the Friday deadline—by claiming the whole batch was tainted by fraud.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | November 6, 2020 12:34 PM |
Even if PA declares, there a big question mark over the outcome in that state. Thats because all ballots received between Weds-Friday will be definitely contested in SCOTUS and may end up thrown out. So any close result in PA is not optimal for Biden.

The polls aren't wrong if the reason they were off ONLY starting in 2016 is massive cheating. There's a reason that NO ONE can explain it. Because it can't be explained without taking the cheating into account and they are unwilling to go there to explain it because then they'll have to admit that Trump was illegitimate from the get-go. R248 means MORE Secret Service. That's probably routine when they think the candidate is about to be President anyway, isn't it?
Biden is ahead and gaining in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Nevada, and if it's true the gap in Arizona had narrowed to 46,000, it's now over 47,000 in his favour, but with 10% of the vote still to count.
But it's a knife-edge in a couple of those. It's likely Biden will win because of the mail-ins, but we don't know exactly what they still have to count. And R241 is right: Georgia will be a recount and Trump will certainly do everything he can to get a recount in Pa.
Trump is up nearly 77,000 votes on Biden in N Carolina with 95% counted, so that's probably a dead duck.

CNN: New restricted "national defense airspace" has been put in place over Democratic nominee Joe Biden's home in Wilmington, Delaware.
The Federal Aviation Administration posted the Temporary Flight Restriction on Wednesday, the day after the general election. An FAA notice to pilots available online shows the one mile radius no-fly zone is now active until next Wednesday morning.
The FAA says airspace has also been temporarily restricted over the nearby Chase Center, where the stage is set for a possible Biden victory speech – should he ultimately win the presidential election.

Yes Joe was the man this time. And here's the good news - even in red states most are moderates and they support many Dem policies. Florida voted for Trump but also a $15 min wage which was a Biden/Harris policy that the wealthy Repubs hate. So we can reach them, we just need to work on our messaging and we need to stop giving Fox ammunition to use against us. Trump was a unique case, it was a cult of personality. We can have a good 2022 and set ourselves up for 2024. Take back the narrative, stop the infighting and quite frankly think Republican, act Democrat - i.e stop being so nice!

R317 What a piece of shit he is.
Early life and education Cawthorn was born on August 1, 1995, in Asheville, North Carolina to Priscilla and Roger Cawthorn.[3] He was home-schooled in Hendersonville, North Carolina.[4][5] As a teenager, he worked at a Chick-fil-A restaurant.[6]
U.S. Representative Mark Meadows nominated Cawthorn to the United States Naval Academy in 2014, but his application was rejected before his 2014 car accident (despite Cawthorn having previously claimed in his congressional campaign that his accident "derailed" his plans to attend the Academy).[6][7][8] Cawthorn subsequently said that of the time of the injury, he knew only that he had been nominated to the academy and that he had expected to be accepted, and added that he never said that he had been accepted to the academy before the accident took place.[9]
Car accident and paralysis In 2014, at age 18, Cawthorn was injured while returning from a spring break trip in Florida. He was a passenger in an SUV on Interstate 4 near Daytona Beach when his friend fell asleep at the wheel and the SUV crashed into a concrete barrier.[10][11] The injuries left Cawthorn partially paralyzed, and he now uses a wheelchair.[5] He accrued $3 million in medical debt during his recovery.[12] His friend's insurance company offered him $3 million to cover his medical treatment, but Cawthorn sued the company for $30 million. A judge later ruled in the insurer's favor. After the accident, he was employed as a staff assistant in Meadows's district office.[6]
Cawthorn attended Patrick Henry College during the fall 2016 semester to study political science, but dropped out after earning mostly D grades. He said his grades were low primarily because his injuries had interfered with his ability to learn.[6]
Early career Cawthorn is the owner of SPQR Holdings, LLC, a real estate investment firm in Hendersonville. The firm was created in August 2019 and reported no income; he is its sole employee.[6] The acronym "has been embraced by skinhead gangs in Italy and by some white nationalists in the United States."[13] It is common on flags used by white supremacists, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.[13][14]

Trump TV is coming....why do you think they’re trying to turn their supporters off of Fox already? And this “fraud” nonsense is just to keep his supporters engaged and to get them to conitinue to hang on his every word. The entire point of this presidency has been to grift moronic Americans. He ain’t stopping now and he will not be going quietly.

NO MORE TRUMP. [bold]NO MORE TRUMP EVER AGAIN.[/bold]
Like others have said - Dump will die before the next term in 2024. What worries me is that Dump is still the President for another 75 days and with all that power! He will be very pissed off and there is a lot of damage he can do.
I'd love to see Melania leave today and announce the divorce via the press so he finds out that way. Then I'd love to see him dragged out of the White House in January live on all networks just like Julian Assange was dragged out of the Ecuadorian Embassy. Brilliant! That would make some of this worth it.
Bliss.

What the Voters Are Trying to Tell Us
They are not always wise, but they have something important to say.
By David Brooks
Opinion Columnist
Nov. 5, 2020
Yup, I wanted a grand rebuke, too. I wanted Trump demolished by 10 points. But elections are educational events. Voters are not always wise, but they are usually comprehensible. They know more about their own lives than we in our information bubbles do, and they almost always tell us something important.
The first thing we heard from most Americans — since Joe Biden’s popular vote victory seems all but certain — is that Donald Trump is unacceptable. We live in a divided, dug-in nation, but millions more white evangelicals voted Democratic in 2020 than in 2016. Many people voted against partisan predilections to remove a man who is a unique menace to the foundations of this country. That is no meager accomplishment.
The second thing voters told us is this: Separate church and state. We’ve long had political polarization in this country and we still will. But over the last few years polarization has transmogrified into something worse: a religious war.
Trumpism and Wokeism are not equivalent phenomena, but they both serve as secular religions for their disciples. They offer a binary logic of good and evil, a cultlike membership experience, apocalyptic or utopian visions, witch trials for the excommunication of the impure and the sense of personal meaning that comes while fighting a holy war.
In different ways, voters told the two parties that they’d like our politics to be about practical issues. If you want a religious war, go have it somewhere else.
They told Republicans, for example, that you will be much stronger without the MAGA craziness. The Republican Party had a much better election than Trump. While Trump is losing, Republicans have picked up six House seats so far. The Democrats have yet to flip a single state legislature, meaning Republicans will draw the district lines for the next 10 years of electioneering.
The image of a possible future G.O.P. emerged — a multiracial working-class party. Republicans made surprising gains among Latinos, African-Americans and Muslims. Trump won the largest share of the nonwhite vote of any Republican candidate in 60 years. That wasn’t done by Trumpian race-baiting but because of the party’s reputation for championing personal agency and personal responsibility, and for boosting small businesses and economic growth. That can be built on.
...

...
Meanwhile, voters told Democrats that they, too, would benefit if they played up policy and played down cultural concerns of their Portlandia/graduate-schooled/defund-the-police wing.
If there was ever going to be a Democratic blowout election, this was it — against an immoral candidate with a criminally incompetent record. But Democrats failed to pull it off.
It’s not policies that cost Democrats. The core Biden policies are astoundingly popular. It’s that they’ve built a cultural blue wall that keeps the other half of the country out, no matter the circumstance.
They’ve done it by telling a certain sort of story. American politics, progressives commonly say, is all about the historical shift from homogeneity to diversity. They see America as divided between those enlightened cosmopolitans (Democrats) who welcome the coming diverse postindustrial world and those knuckle-dragging, racist troglodytes (Republicans) who don’t.
The first problem with this narrative is that it is perpetually surprised by events. Election after election, the emerging Democratic majority fails to emerge. The second problem is that it oversimplifies the different processes going on in America. Somehow, we have to have the racial reckoning, which is essential, while we understand the other mega-narratives people feel are driving their lives. Third, it’s just astonishingly smug, self-congratulatory and off-putting.
The voters have handed us a political system that will be led, probably, by Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell. These are not culture warriors. They are politicians and legislators.
We now have two parties whose best version of themselves is as working-class parties. Maybe the next few years can be a partisan competition over who is best for Americans without college degrees.
Would divided government devolve into gridlock? Maybe. McConnell will do whatever is in the G.O.P.’s best interests in 2022. But I’m not so sure. America is bitterly divided on cultural matters, but it is getting less divided over economic policy. Populism has weakened the G.O.P.’s anti-government wing and opened senators like Marco Rubio, Josh Hawley, Tom Cotton and others to ideas that call for more federal involvement in industry. For some that includes worker training, for others, an infrastructure bank, wage subsidies or R&D industrial policy.
The voters reminded us yet again that the other side is not going away. We have to dispense with the fantasy that after the next miracle election our side will suddenly get everything it wants. We have to live with one another.
The key is loosening the grip the culture war has had on our politics and governance. Let’s fight our moral difference with books, sermons, movies and marches, not with political coercion.

by Anonymous | reply 382 | November 6, 2020 1:51 PM |
With many ballots still outstanding in heavily Democratic cities, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. was leading President Trump by more than four million votes nationwide as of Friday morning. His lead will continue to expand, perhaps substantially, as officials finish counting.
This means more Americans have voted for a Democrat for president than for a Republican in each of the past four elections, and seven of the past eight, the exception being 2004, when President George W. Bush beat John Kerry by about three million votes. But, depending on the outcome this year, only four or five times in those eight elections have they actually put one in the White House.
“We look at a map of so-called red and blue states and treat that map as land and not people,” said Carol Anderson, a professor of African-American studies at Emory University who researches voter suppression. “I’ve been thinking about how hard folks have to work to be able to vote, what it takes to overcome all of this that voter suppression has put in place, and that someone could be ahead by three million votes — which is bigger than most cities and probably some states — and still we have what almost amounts to a nail-biter.”
Mr. Biden’s current vote margin is, in fact, larger than the populations of more than 20 states, and more than the population of Los Angeles. A similar disparity exists in the Senate, where the current Democratic minority was elected with more votes than the Republican majority and where by 2040, based on population projections, about 70 percent of Americans will be represented by 30 percent of senators.

I have long held the Inauguration will be a very low key affair, consistent with social distancing. You can't do the normal thing. He will probably be sworn in at or on the grounds of the White House. It will depend on what Trump is willing to do (not that anyone will really care.) If Trump needs a big sulk, they can swear him in quietly with a small crowd at the Capitol and then drive to the White House to start the work of governing. Address to the nation from the Oval.
There will be a big inauguration type event when the vaccination is done and life is normal and trending far better again.
(And that times nicely with the pending mid terms, just to shore up the mood.)

Her father, Donald J. R509, I saw a lot of people on twitter saying today is the deadline for military ballots to arrive, but many were already received. Many military voters saying they were offended by Trump’s “losers” comments and voted for Biden. Counted votes bear this out. And 8,800 is the total number sent out, not necessarily the number that will be returned. There’s probably not many left.

R591, I have followed your posts throughout this thread and am just now posting in response.
You state you are outside the USA. You pose sly queries with an odd slant: why Biden? With all “Trump’s positives”, you ask? You want to know about Biden’s mental health.....etc.
I will state that I am not outside the USA. I am inside and not necessarily a huge Biden supporter.
Nevertheless, who are YOU from outside the country to lob all sorts of propaganda regarding the happenings inside this country.
Trump’s Positives? List them. Links to support your evidence?
Biden’s mental health? Besides the propaganda initiated by MAGATs, there are few who question Biden’s mental health IN CONTRAST TO Trump.
Need to see data backing your claims, as I and many others can proffer MULTIPLE examples of Trump:
Corruption
Greed
Lies
Sociopathic Behaviour
Racism
Accused Sexual Behaviour
Child Snatching Behaviour
Illegality
Misogyny
Fascism
Impeachment.
No doubt Biden is not perfect, but your presuppositions are flawed at best and outright trolling at worst.
