Someone asked about North Carolina in the last thread, the answer is we don't know yet, it's very close with some votes still outstanding:

Trump (R): 50% (2,732,084 votes)

Biden (D): 49% (2,655,383 votes)

Estimated: > 95% votes in

Any update on Georgia? What about Nevada? Is it true Biden lost Michigan?

by Anonymousreply 3November 4, 2020 8:45 AM

Imprison that fukker DeJoy of the P office !

by Anonymousreply 4November 4, 2020 8:45 AM

I don’t ever want to feel like this again. 4:45 but I can’t sleep until I know!

by Anonymousreply 5November 4, 2020 8:45 AM

Also Biden is now ahead in Wisconsin by nearly 20K votes, and without Kenosha reported yet.

Biden hits 50.0% in the National Vote.

by Anonymousreply 7November 4, 2020 8:46 AM

I woke up to pee and check this thread

by Anonymousreply 8November 4, 2020 8:47 AM

Come on Wisconsin save us

by Anonymousreply 9November 4, 2020 8:47 AM

Weird that we had so many trolls telling us that Wisconsin was lost, and now that it looks like a clear Biden victory, they've all disappeared.

by Anonymousreply 10November 4, 2020 8:47 AM

R7, does that include California?

by Anonymousreply 11November 4, 2020 8:48 AM

Michigan, please don’t fuck this up...

by Anonymousreply 12November 4, 2020 8:48 AM

Bidens problem is his message was outdated, the dem party refuses to take a risk on a candidate who wants change, despite working for Obama. Trump was all about change in 2016 and it won him the election and Bidens was all about his legacy as VP and he might only just win and not with the landslide that was predicted. Harris wont be the on the ticket for 2024, that's if the Dem's want a chance to win.

by Anonymousreply 13November 4, 2020 8:48 AM

The mail handlers and carriers need to "go postal" on DeJoy's ass.

by Anonymousreply 14November 4, 2020 8:48 AM

r3 Nevada is going to Biden that's not even in play and MI is NOT lost. Stop with the inaccurate info please.

by Anonymousreply 15November 4, 2020 8:48 AM

Woohooo! We take the lead in Winsconsin and the Mexican-American vote is delivering for Dems in Nevada and Arizona. All is good again.

by Anonymousreply 16November 4, 2020 8:48 AM

Don't you mean check the thread and then pee, R8?

by Anonymousreply 17November 4, 2020 8:48 AM

I’m the one that worked the polls in Las Vegas. One thing I forgot to tell you, there were a lot of transplanted Californians voting on Tuesday.

by Anonymousreply 18November 4, 2020 8:48 AM

Nevada=Biden (79%)

by Anonymousreply 19November 4, 2020 8:49 AM

good god what u think trump will do if biden squeezes a win out? he will so flip the fuk out...

Yes, they need to strip DeJoy naked and run him out of town on a stick.

by Anonymousreply 20November 4, 2020 8:49 AM

Thanks R18, I've been reading your replies with interest. I think NV looks almost guaranteed for Biden.

by Anonymousreply 21November 4, 2020 8:49 AM

[quote]Harris wont be the on the ticket for 2024, that's if the Dem's want a chance to win.

OK I'll bite, not sure why - and who would YOU like to see in 2024 if not Harris? Since she's not about "change" and all. (sarcasm)

by Anonymousreply 22November 4, 2020 8:49 AM

Okay hold up we don't need to see DeJoy naked, that's a bridge too far

by Anonymousreply 23November 4, 2020 8:50 AM

WISCONSIN BIDEN= 49.3 Dump=49.0

by Anonymousreply 24November 4, 2020 8:50 AM

I know some people were lashing out at Latino voters in the last few threads out of frustration, but I’m very proud of the Mexican American turnout. They are showing up. I have a feeling Muslim Americans will play a big part in Michigan

by Anonymousreply 25November 4, 2020 8:50 AM

What happens if Biden loses Michigan but wins Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, could he still win? Or must he win all 3?

by Anonymousreply 26November 4, 2020 8:51 AM

R21 I am also a transplanted Californian.

by Anonymousreply 27November 4, 2020 8:51 AM

[quote] Weird that we had so many trolls telling us that Wisconsin was lost, and now that it looks like a clear Biden victory, they've all disappeared.

All of the blue counties have 99%+ in. Brown, Kenosha and Manitowoc still have a bunch of votes left to count and they favor red/Trump.

by Anonymousreply 28November 4, 2020 8:51 AM

I would just like to this: I am alone in my house, incredibly sad & scared & I appreciate the comfort, wisdom & insight of what I've read in these threads. Yeah, there are some trolls, but most people who I think feel as bewildered & upset as I do. I think a times like this, it's what the internet is for is to create a sense of community when no physical community exists.

Thanks. I needed to get that off my chest.

by Anonymousreply 29November 4, 2020 8:52 AM

Nevada is being so California centric that people talk about Nevada California as if it was one state now.

by Anonymousreply 30November 4, 2020 8:52 AM

R25 Mexicans= good cubans = shit heads! Got it? Most other latinos can not stand Cubans.

by Anonymousreply 31November 4, 2020 8:52 AM

Bullshit, R13. THIS is all about who we Americans are. Trump has been and is a terrible person and president. He is only a reflection of who we truly are.

by Anonymousreply 32November 4, 2020 8:52 AM

If the repugs played fair n square, biden may have taken texas and florida....GOD DAMN POST OFFICE INDEED.

by Anonymousreply 33November 4, 2020 8:52 AM

NO. None of the three Midwest states are called. Pennsylvania may not be called even for a couple days!!!

by Anonymousreply 34November 4, 2020 8:53 AM

wHY dint the dems win more senate seats as expected. . god dam susan collins won,,,,,shit....and that fuk joni ernst

by Anonymousreply 38November 4, 2020 8:54 AM

R28 Is this true? Is Biden really fucked in Wisconsin?

by Anonymousreply 39November 4, 2020 8:54 AM

R32 Then explain Obama? Is America racist? Yeah, but not to the degree that they wouldn't vote a president who is black with a name that raised eyebrows all over the place. Obama represented something new and different, Trump represented something new and different. And they both won.

by Anonymousreply 40November 4, 2020 8:56 AM

The city of Kenosha itself is a Biden town, r28. The western part of the county may be another thing. STOP with the pro-Trump concern trolling like you've been doing all night here. Post ACCURATE information.

by Anonymousreply 41November 4, 2020 8:56 AM

No, R39.

[quote]Brown, Kenosha and Manitowoc still have a bunch of votes left to count and they favor red/Trump.

by Anonymousreply 46November 4, 2020 8:58 AM

Brown County in WI is Green Bay folks. BIDEN town. GOOD news from r43 - read that tweet.

It ain't over til it's OVER - rinse and repeat.

by Anonymousreply 47November 4, 2020 8:59 AM

only slightly under 11,000 lead isn't much with 11% left to report in Wisconsin

this is so damn nerve wracking. I cannot believe how close things are

by Anonymousreply 48November 4, 2020 8:59 AM

I thought Hillary Clinton narrowly won Green Bay? Please let Biden win this!

by Anonymousreply 49November 4, 2020 9:00 AM

I'm really just aghast that Trump has won more votes without a full tally than he did in 2016. His strategy of dividing endlessly has gained him new supporters. WTF

by Anonymousreply 50November 4, 2020 9:00 AM

FUCK! Trump could win. KY backs Moscow Mitch. Traitor Susan is going to win. What the fuck?!?! Who are these people who vote this way?

We have to go popular vote now. Some last minute, non thinking voter is deciding the fate of the world. This is not sane. This system is not Democratic at all. We need to go to the popular voter. We want to help these people. We want them to have health care and their kids too. We want them to LIVE through pandemics and the very serious and dire Climate Crisis. POPULAR VOTE.

I am so sick of this shit.

by Anonymousreply 51November 4, 2020 9:01 AM

Update on Michigan? Reddit says it’s not looking good but can’t find anything solid

by Anonymousreply 60November 4, 2020 9:04 AM

white America really has a lot to answer for. The fact that Trump has gained more votes since 2016 is just disgraceful.

by Anonymousreply 61November 4, 2020 9:04 AM

Explain Obama? What is there to explain? It's not as if the Obama phenomenon hasn't happened before. Look at the country right after the Civil War and during Reconstruction. Afro Americans held leadership positions and look how long that lasted.

As some politician said; "This is a white man's country and will remain a white man's country."

by Anonymousreply 62November 4, 2020 9:04 AM

WHATEVER! MR. BIDEN PLEASE DO NOT CONCEDE.

by Anonymousreply 63November 4, 2020 9:04 AM

WI will likely go into recount. Neither will finish with 1%+ lead.

by Anonymousreply 64November 4, 2020 9:04 AM

by Anonymousreply 66November 4, 2020 9:05 AM

All of Milwaukee County is in now, 100%, except the provisional ballots (not sure how many of those there are, they didn't say). There is some outstanding vote left to count in other counties, but per CNN most of it is mail-in ballots. So its a real toss up.

by Anonymousreply 67November 4, 2020 9:05 AM

32,000 absentee ballots outstanding in Wisconsin just heard on CNN

by Anonymousreply 68November 4, 2020 9:06 AM

Wisconsin doesn't have an automatic recount trigger, but if there is less than 1% between the candidates, a candidate may request a recount.

by Anonymousreply 69November 4, 2020 9:07 AM

Why would Biden concede, R63. Are you the hysterical “VOTE BLUE DOWn BALLOT” queen? I’d have thought your head would have exploded by now.

by Anonymousreply 70November 4, 2020 9:07 AM

30k votes still out in Brown County WI/Green Bay. Not known if these are Dem or Repub leaning, they are thought to maybe be mail in but that's doesn't mean automatic Dem lead.

Voter suppression is working. Voter suppression is ANTI DEMOCRACY. The Republican Party are complete fascists. We were trying to save those children in TRUMP cages.

If Trump wins, he will go after more children. If Republican have a senate majority, they will BLOCK EVERYTHING. Including saving children, medical care for Americans, stimulus to get through this recession/depression.

If trump wins, he will not deal with the pandemic. It will get worse. Medical doctors and senior nurses are already exhausted . We are going into a second wave. The second wave is worse. Also, there is a concurrent flu season.

by Anonymousreply 79November 4, 2020 9:09 AM

SENATE IS TIED! I only pray Kamala vote can swing the Senate to Dem!

by Anonymousreply 80November 4, 2020 9:09 AM

More people voted overall r73, I'm assuming. We should look at the percentage when all is said and done.

by Anonymousreply 81November 4, 2020 9:09 AM

One thing that can be very definitively taken from this election (and 2016) is that future polling is totally and utterly useless. Worse than useless.

You would get more accurate predictions from reading tea leaves or getting a palm reading.

There will be a lot of "pollsters" out of a job today because they have been wrong for so long that they have no credibility left. Zero.

by Anonymousreply 82November 4, 2020 9:09 AM

[quote] I'm done getting hyped up by the media. For the last 2 months they've been creaming themselves about how this would be a blowout

Ma’am you have been warned for months that the race would be tight and would not be determined until sometime after election night.

the majority of white hetero Americans are just dumbass bigoted fools who like fucking things up.

by Anonymousreply 84November 4, 2020 9:10 AM

by Anonymousreply 87November 4, 2020 9:10 AM

by Anonymousreply 88November 4, 2020 9:10 AM

Wait, what’s happening with Nevada?

by Anonymousreply 89November 4, 2020 9:10 AM

I am finding AP to be the most up to date source of everyone. Most news sources aren't even counting ECs for Biden from Arizona, but they are.

by Anonymousreply 90November 4, 2020 9:11 AM

R80, In a Senate tie vote, the VP breaks it.

by Anonymousreply 91November 4, 2020 9:11 AM

AP has NV and WI as light blue, meaning Biden is leading both. The EC count has Biden 238/ Trump 213

by Anonymousreply 92November 4, 2020 9:13 AM

Who is the guy with the interactive screen with Cuomo on CNN, tell me now

by Anonymousreply 93November 4, 2020 9:13 AM

R92 Ok, phew. I was worried we lost Nevada.

by Anonymousreply 94November 4, 2020 9:14 AM

Well there you go r88. That's what had been originally predicted.

I'm going to sign off for a while been up all night. Will rejoin later this morning. REMEMBER: Biden only needs two of these three at the moment: PA, MI and WI. He has AZ and one electoral vote each from Maine and Nebraska. Still very well positioned. I think MI and PA are very much there, give it time and keep the heads up. If he takes these two, he doesn't need WI.

And if he happens to get GA, he's got it.

by Anonymousreply 95November 4, 2020 9:14 AM

Has anyone checked on Joy Behar tonight?

by Anonymousreply 96November 4, 2020 9:14 AM

Maine is now Biden (90%).

by Anonymousreply 97November 4, 2020 9:14 AM

R94 Biden will get Georgia

by Anonymousreply 98November 4, 2020 9:15 AM

Biden is comfortably ahead in AZ, others should be counting his EVs from there too. At least AP is, I guess.

by Anonymousreply 99November 4, 2020 9:15 AM

I read that Michigan counts in person votes first

by Anonymousreply 100November 4, 2020 9:15 AM

I really hope the Atlanta suburbs come through for Biden but who the hell knows

what a disappointment North Carolina has been

by Anonymousreply 101November 4, 2020 9:16 AM

[quote] WHY is Fox calling Pennsylvania for Dump?

Because he has a 700k lead.

Georgia will stay red.

by Anonymousreply 102November 4, 2020 9:16 AM

Biden isn't down by much in Michigan and reportedly there are votes in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing and the Oakland County suburbs that still need to be counted, all areas that lean heavily blue.

by Anonymousreply 103November 4, 2020 9:17 AM

Trump is not and cant win, he has done too much evil shit..... HE SUPPRESSES THE VOTE AND 'WINS' FOR THT FUKIN REASON....

by Anonymousreply 104November 4, 2020 9:17 AM

Republicans lawyers are trying to get ballots thrown out in a state.

by Anonymousreply 105November 4, 2020 9:17 AM

LOL! They're going on and on about Trump's statement from the White House. Listen honey... if Republicans pulled that Supreme Court nonsense and got away with it then don't be too sure that they can't get their way on this.

by Anonymousreply 106November 4, 2020 9:17 AM

According to AP, the only states still up for grabs are

Alaska, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia. All are skewing towards Trump except for Nevada and Wisconsin, but there are still many ballots to be counted.

And I'm not an AP shill, I've been clicking all over the place and they have been consistently most up to date all night.

by Anonymousreply 107November 4, 2020 9:18 AM

What is taking so long to call Arizona? They have been stuck @ 82% for while. Hmmmmm

Just call Arizona and Nevada to Biden right the fuck now. I just pull a double shift, and I can hold it. I better wake up to the news that Biden won WI,AZ, and NV.

by Anonymousreply 108November 4, 2020 9:18 AM

R93, that's CNN's Phil Mattingly. There's a hot photo of him on the previous thread.

by Anonymousreply 109November 4, 2020 9:19 AM

More than one state probably, R105.

Trump's legal arguments have been basically "the states should do what the Feds tell them to with regard to voting" and I don't know that SCOTUS, even this far-right SCOTUS, is going to agree with that.

If Trump needs to steal more than one state, I don't think his legal battles will work, but we'll see.

by Anonymousreply 110November 4, 2020 9:19 AM

R94, Nevada is close, yes. Biden leads by only about 2 points.

by Anonymousreply 111November 4, 2020 9:20 AM

This hasnt been a democracy since Bush 'beat' Kerry and Gore, they cheat ike hell and will continue to win for that reason. they play for blood and not fairness.

by Anonymousreply 112November 4, 2020 9:20 AM

[quote]Alaska, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia. All are skewing towards Trump

They absolutely ARE NOT.

Biden is ahead in Wisconsin and Nevada, for starters.

Nevada still has mail ins, or so I read

by Anonymousreply 138November 4, 2020 9:27 AM

A lot of people mindlessly vote for the incumbent, R126. They're notoriously difficult to beat, even if they're rotten to the core.

by Anonymousreply 139November 4, 2020 9:27 AM

[quote]so we're just at the point now when nothing matters and white Americans mostly vote for whoever the repub candidate is.

There's plenty of blame to go around, black men and Hispanics are voting in even higher numbers for Trump than they did before.

Really what this comes down to is rural people without a college degree vs those more educated who live in or near a big city.

by Anonymousreply 140November 4, 2020 9:27 AM

Not true R130, this came out a few minutes ago, already posted on this thread:

Democratic. Plus that's the counties with most of NV vote.

by Anonymousreply 143November 4, 2020 9:29 AM

R140 even with more black and latino male votes, the fact is vast majority of Trump supporters are white. They deserve the bulk of the blame. They obviously are as racist as he is and just as stupid

a man who attacks even doctors and scientists and got impeached and is under criminal investigations might get reelected. we're fucked

by Anonymousreply 144November 4, 2020 9:29 AM

I'll cut & paste the Nevada numbers, which I don't believe include LV or Reno, both heavily blue areas:

NV Presidential Election Results

Biden (D): 49% (587,775 votes)

Trump (R): 49% (578,498 votes)

Estimated: 87-99% votes in

by Anonymousreply 147November 4, 2020 9:29 AM

no one knows what is going on. Just let the ballots be counted. We need to double check some of these states, esp Florida. Make sure they did not cheat.

by Anonymousreply 148November 4, 2020 9:29 AM

[quote] They absolutely ARE NOT.Biden is ahead in Wisconsin and Nevada, for starters. Where are you people GETTING this? All night people like you have been posting that all the remaining battleground states are "leaning Trump" and it's not true.

Are you a fucking retard? I clearly said EXCEPT FOR NEVADA AND WISCONSIN. AND THAT THERE WERE MANY MORE BALLOTS TO BE COUNTED.

Goddamn moron.

by Anonymousreply 149November 4, 2020 9:30 AM

R146 that was before the rise of the alternative right wing media propaganda machine that has truly driven a wedge in this country. Their followers do not believe in facts anymore

by Anonymousreply 150November 4, 2020 9:30 AM

Ummmm some rural people do have educations and a college degree.

I’m so sick of that weird stereotype r140.

You all convince yourselves Trumpers are all “without a college degree” because in your warped and deluded minds a college degree, a piece of paper even the biggest morons have achieved, automatically are “smart” and “liberal”. That is not how it works. You make yourself look and sound like the uneducated one

by Anonymousreply 151November 4, 2020 9:31 AM

Biden only leading by 7,800 now in Wisconsin with 5% left to go.

by Anonymousreply 152November 4, 2020 9:31 AM

Biden is leading in NV, but too close to call.

Trump managed to super-juice the MAGA rural, non-college white vote. But note that he has been running for re-election from the day he got sworn in. Four years of relentless propaganda, red meat, and rallies.

by Anonymousreply 156November 4, 2020 9:32 AM

by Anonymousreply 159November 4, 2020 9:33 AM

Am I missing something up for grabs? Biden has 238 ECs right now. If he took NV, WI and, say, NC, that would get him to 269. But if Trump won the rest, that would only get him to 268. That doesn't make sense. Is there something tiny (not Alaska) that's been forgotten? Have all the 1 EC territories been decided?

by Anonymousreply 179November 4, 2020 9:41 AM

by Anonymousreply 180November 4, 2020 9:41 AM

It is the republican party that uses the KKK/white supremacists. They need them to win. Then, they suppress the votes and rights of people who are more likely to vote against them, mainly people of color and skilled laborers.

by Anonymousreply 181November 4, 2020 9:42 AM

Earlier, Michael Steele was taking Beto to task for not running against Cornyn instead of chasing the presidential nom. His theory was that he could've improved his numbers and dragged Biden a bit higher with him. Maybe he's right and maybe then Beto wouldn't have made the mistake on guns.

by Anonymousreply 184November 4, 2020 9:43 AM

My former boss and his wife voted for Trump this year. He runs a law office that specializes in evictions and they have been closed since March with a huge loss in income. I understand his frustration (and I've been out of work, also, elsewhere) but for fuck's sake, how do people not realize that the reason this has gone on for so long with no end in sight is BECAUSE of Trump? If we would have had anyone else in office (perhaps with the exception of McConnell), we would be in a much better position in terms of COVID. And exactly what does he think Trump is going to do if re-elected? He's had 8 months to do it. We're at our highest peak of infection. I don't understand the complete absence of logical thinking. This is the kind of idiot voting for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 221November 4, 2020 9:59 AM

[quote] I wonder how many folks were turned off by the whole woke/blm movement and decided fukkit, im goin for trump .

I was turned off by it (mostly because the people running the BLM chapters are just as full of shit as any Republican, and their priorities were all making sure their chapter presidents got signed by talent agencies, which they did), but they were so small potatoes compared to the real things that mattered this year, which were all COVID related. BLM was not a reason enough to not vote dem. They simply didn't make a big enough ripple.

This is what I DON'T understand. The MAJOR fuck up by the GOP, from the President on down, in regards to how the COVID crisis was handled should have meant an enormous landslide for the Dems. But they don't play hardball. It's very telling that the organization most critical of Trump and most capable of getting that message out there repeatedly and with a lot of attention was from The Lincoln Project, which is run by a bunch of Republicans.

by Anonymousreply 222November 4, 2020 9:59 AM

R216 for ratings. I live in Nevada. I worked the polls. I also know that more Californians are moving to Nevada and voted on Tuesday. That’s why Nevada has been trending blue. Clark county is going to put Biden over the top. Clark county is the Los Angeles county of Nevada. More liberal. They are voting here like they would in California. And Jon Ralston is just being dramatic with his Twitter posts.

by Anonymousreply 223November 4, 2020 9:59 AM

Ratings, R216.

Early votes from mail-ins are counted last in NV, PA and MI, so we knew weeks ago that Trump would look like he was ahead in those states, but would probably lose once all votes were counted.

Trump, true to form, wants them to stop counting these mail-in votes and claims that counting them is cheating.

We need to not buy into his spin. It's not cheating, we're waiting for ALL votes to come in.

by Anonymousreply 229November 4, 2020 10:01 AM

[quote] I mean how can so many pollsters get literally everything so wrong!!!!!

They probably didn't.

Ask yourself, does it seem logical that nearly every pollster who has been doing this for years and years got it wrong nearly every time? No, just the law of averages would mean that's not likely.

So that means something is up with the votes, and my personal opinion is that it's voter suppression.

Also, right now we're not seeing the early mail-in votes in some states, so the polls may not end up being wrong at all.

by Anonymousreply 241November 4, 2020 10:06 AM

I said it before and I will say it again, Dems pandered way too much to BLM. It scared off millions of voters who couldn't separate BLM movement from the riots that fallowed. They became one in their minds because they happened on the same days same time as the protests.

by Anonymousreply 242November 4, 2020 10:06 AM

At the end of the dat Trump's strategy worked: suppress black votes, skim 15 to 20% of the black male vote and get out the right-wing base. Among the right-wing base, all Democracts are liberal whether they actually are or not. Obama won because he sold hope and change. That is the only way we have a chance against those monsters. Otherwise even though they may suffer, they will still vote in the best interest of the right-wing base.

by Anonymousreply 259November 4, 2020 10:12 AM

Because R240, they were playing the long con on us.

by Anonymousreply 260November 4, 2020 10:12 AM

NC can count mail in votes which come in the next three days. They won't be done for a while and nobody knows yet how it's gonna turn out there.

by Anonymousreply 261November 4, 2020 10:13 AM

[quote] Obama won because he sold hope and change. That is the only way we have a chance against those monsters.

If we can't sell hope and change in this year of all years, we've completely run out of both for life.

by Anonymousreply 262November 4, 2020 10:13 AM

R253 Social Security is liberal, Medicare is liberal, Medicaid is liberal, civil rights is liberal, marriage equality is liberal, equal pay for equal work is liberal and, the violence against women act is liberal.

If the democratic party wasn’t liberal there would be no need for a democratic party. The problem with the Democrats is that they do not understand perception and messaging. They do not know how to collectively control the narrative. Republicans tax, spend, drive the debt into the ceiling, and then called them selves less government and fiscally responsible. They understand it’s not what you do but what do you say that matters.

by Anonymousreply 263November 4, 2020 10:14 AM

Okay, this is it. This is going to be a long couple months, till jan 2021. This was the scenario that we did not want. This is what's going on. These early states calling it for trump, we need to double check too. We will not know tonight. We want to wait and have a careful count/recount.

FUCK!

by Anonymousreply 264November 4, 2020 10:14 AM

Were I a Republican I'd be feeling pretty good right now.

by Anonymousreply 265November 4, 2020 10:14 AM

I don’t think the Republicans feel very good right now because they know that once all the votes are counted Trump loses.

by Anonymousreply 266November 4, 2020 10:15 AM

R265 Don't spread doom like that...

by Anonymousreply 267November 4, 2020 10:15 AM

This is really the first time in my life of 50 years that my stomach was in knots and I felt sick to my stomach over an election. I am going to have to unplug from the world if Trump wins. I cant take 4 more years of this.

by Anonymousreply 268November 4, 2020 10:15 AM

NV stopped counting and won't do any reporting until Thursday morning. I fear that will flip to Trump.

by Anonymousreply 269November 4, 2020 10:16 AM

R255, for the past few weeks we've been told that Biden is anywhere between 8-10% ahead of Trump nationally, that he would flip a number of 2016 Republican states (not just Arizona) and that the Dems were going to take the Senate. None of that appears to have transpired, even if Biden does scrape a knife-edge victory.

BLM and identity politics are damaging the Democrats. There are ways of discussing race, gender and social issues without succumbing to the extremes of campus politics. The Democrats need to start doing that.

by Anonymousreply 270November 4, 2020 10:16 AM

Same here R268.

by Anonymousreply 271November 4, 2020 10:17 AM

Yeah, everybody quit the pillow biting. Go fix yourself a nice breakfast or go get one.

It will end how it ends. If you were looking for retribution, you didn’t have the right goal to begin with.

by Anonymousreply 272November 4, 2020 10:17 AM

Nevada won't flip for Trump.

how could Lindsey be on fox crying every night, win in a landslide? What the fuck? How were all those state polls in SC be wrong?

by Anonymousreply 277November 4, 2020 10:18 AM

Even if Biden wins, what can he really do without the Senate? Executive orders? Gridlock in congress? Yes, far better than Trump but all my hopes and dreams for a better America are now crushed like a cockroach on the pavement.

by Anonymousreply 278November 4, 2020 10:19 AM

R262, we did not. I loved the ads that pointed out the wrongs of Republicans but I think the people who voted for him doubled down instead of admitting to a mistake. However, as a Monday morning quarterback, the answer is we must sell people that we can make things better without the barrage of negative ads when people actually need healing not more negativity.

by Anonymousreply 279November 4, 2020 10:19 AM

Me too, r268. I've been chewing Tums all night. This is unusual for me.

by Anonymousreply 280November 4, 2020 10:19 AM

I hate identiterians, but what's hurting the Democratic party is #1 Putin and #2 absolute fucking morons like you who take every single bit of social engineering at face value.

by Anonymousreply 281November 4, 2020 10:19 AM

I think people wanted a solid rebuke of Trumpsterism, R273, not necessarily retribution, and this election instead has been a nail-biter where a handful of really worrisome candidates won local elections. If Biden wins, it won't be a landslide, it'll just be him edging Trump out, with Trump pitching a huge fit the whole time and probably trying to ruin the country in titty-baby revenge.

That's why everyone is so upset.

by Anonymousreply 282November 4, 2020 10:19 AM

R276's tweet for those without inline links on:

[quote]I deleted a prior tweet. Sorry, folks. I'm a bit punchy. I read a column wrong on SOS site the second time. It is clear that there are tens of thousands of mail ballots left to count in Clark. I'll get the # tomorrow (today) and report back.

by Anonymousreply 283November 4, 2020 10:20 AM

At least that's something.

The rest of them should be lining up to apologize and all of them should be researching career alternatives after this R276.

by Anonymousreply 284November 4, 2020 10:20 AM

Yea, many whites were spooked by the excessive BLM / woke stuff and headed for trump kool aid land in droves.....sad

by Anonymousreply 285November 4, 2020 10:20 AM

Trump may lose R266 but Republicans have their Judges, the Supreme Court, and still control the Senate. All in all, it was a GOOD night for Republicans, in my opinion.

by Anonymousreply 286November 4, 2020 10:21 AM

I think Biden can still pull this out. But the takeaway here is that about half of America is more afraid of a Democratic president than they are afraid of Donald Covid Trump.

by Anonymousreply 287November 4, 2020 10:21 AM

That’s it for election results updates until 9:00 am on Nov. 5. Here’s what has been counted so far:

All in person early votes

All in person Election Day votes

All mail ballots through Nov. 2

Here’s what is left to count:

-Mail ballots received on Election Day

-Mail ballots that will be received over the next week

-Provisional ballots

Ballots outstanding is difficult to estimate in Nevada because every voter was sent a mail ballot. Obviously, not all will vote.

Okay, enough with the trolling.

The Democratic Party did not indulge in "excessive BLM stuff." Just stop it.

by Anonymousreply 289November 4, 2020 10:22 AM

I can't seem to grasp why there's so many hold-out Blue counties - all the called Dump states are not close. Why? Why can't we get a final tally? MSNBC has shown we're stuck with BIDEN=224 and Dump= [FUCKING COMMERCIALS. These stations only care about profit.] Dump=213

by Anonymousreply 290November 4, 2020 10:22 AM

So he actually DIDN'T apologize R283!

Just more shit about more shit he's going to peddle tomorrow to anyone who will give him validation. Not even worth listening to.

by Anonymousreply 291November 4, 2020 10:22 AM

[quote]about half of America is more afraid of a Democratic president than they are afraid of Donald Covid Trump

Everyone did this in 2016 too, but it's wrong. Only about 65% of voting-age Americans are voting this year, we'll get a full number in a few days.

And only about 50% of those voted for Trump.

That means 33% or so of Americans like Trump. Not half. There's a difference.

by Anonymousreply 292November 4, 2020 10:23 AM

R263, my point is that right wingers teach their children that all Democracts are liberals and liberals are evil.

by Anonymousreply 293November 4, 2020 10:23 AM

R186 Shhhh, we're supposed to be crypto deplorable right now and say that black people are so stupid they don't know how to vote or that Latinos should be deported en masse (actual posts from the previous threads).

by Anonymousreply 294November 4, 2020 10:24 AM

I like Ralston R291 and so does PollTroll, I think he does well, and he apologized for his mistake.

by Anonymousreply 295November 4, 2020 10:24 AM

[quote]The problem with the Democrats is that they do not understand perception and messaging. They do not know how to collectively control the narrative.

They can but it's very personality dependent for Democrats. If a charismatic personality like Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Obama emerges as the Dem leader, they can push their message and the rest get swept up in their charismatic wave. The party basically doesn't have to move a lot of muscles and as a result, they are atrophied.

But if the Dems have a regular type candidate, their propaganda and messaging weakness bites them in the butt.

It pains me to admit but it may be true that the Democrats need to fall in love with the candidate, and then they deliver.

by Anonymousreply 296November 4, 2020 10:25 AM

[quote]The Democratic Party did not indulge in "excessive BLM stuff." Just stop it.

Trust me when I tell you I know a woman who went on and on about the riots. She even said publicly she was switching from a Democrat to an Independent because she was worried about her safety and couldn't understand why all these cities were having riots. She blames the Democrats who run those cities. I know, it's Fox News talking point but she did say that.

by Anonymousreply 297November 4, 2020 10:26 AM

I think the Democrats were a little stymied this year by not wanting to turn off the Sanders branch and the baby socialists, but also had to fight the incorrect socialist branding, and that was kind of a no-win situation.

It's probably partly why they didn't try too hard in Florida. If the "Democrat equals Che Guevara type socialist" propaganda was already in heavy rotation, might as well save your money and try for another state you can potentially win.

by Anonymousreply 298November 4, 2020 10:27 AM

[quote]Trust me when I tell you I know a woman who went on and on about the riots.

by Anonymousreply 302November 4, 2020 10:27 AM

I will rephrase.... But the takeaway here is that about half of the actual voters in America are more afraid of a Democratic president than they are afraid of Donald Covid Trump.

by Anonymousreply 303November 4, 2020 10:27 AM

I was so stressed I ordered from 7-11 and had a pint of Netflix & Chilled and some Sour Cream and Onion Pringles. I haven't done that in a while.

by Anonymousreply 304November 4, 2020 10:28 AM

R269 Nevada won’t flip to Trump. Over 150,000 Californians have moved here in the last few years. Year-by-year it’s becoming more of a liberal state.

by Anonymousreply 305November 4, 2020 10:28 AM

Ralston is just peddling meaningless, incorrect, unsubstantiated made-up shit R295.

You're obviously the target audience if you believe a word of it you dummy.

by Anonymousreply 306November 4, 2020 10:28 AM

[quote] There are ways of discussing race, gender and social issues without succumbing to the extremes of campus politics.

The fact that you're obsessed with college kid politics instead of pandemic deaths, a president supporting a regime that puts bounties on American soldiers' heads, etc. tells me all I need to know about you, you moron.

I think you're in for a surprise tomorrow, my darling.

by Anonymousreply 307November 4, 2020 10:28 AM

What are you talking about R301? Time for you to go for a long walk.

by Anonymousreply 308November 4, 2020 10:28 AM

This election could have been President Sanders seeking re-election, except for Hillary being a spoiler,

by Anonymousreply 309November 4, 2020 10:29 AM

The media has to keep the horse race scenario going for ratings. Then when things change they can act like it was a big surprise. That’s their game. It’s the news cliffhanger.

by Anonymousreply 310November 4, 2020 10:29 AM

[quote] AP called Nevada for Biden a while back and are showing him at 238

Actually, it's AZ that AP called for Biden which is getting him to 238. They still have NV as skewing toward Biden but not final.

by Anonymousreply 311November 4, 2020 10:29 AM

R270, you do realize without the black voters Democracts are done? Which is why Trump targeted black men to dilute that voting block. Unfortunately a lot of black people because of voter suppression and despair did not vote. I am very angry with my folk for giving up.

by Anonymousreply 312November 4, 2020 10:29 AM

Well, I think it’s time for me to try and go to sleep— at 6:30 AM, ha. Thanks to all the poll trolls and those with substantial electoral wisdom. I have to say, I feel better now than I did 4 hours ago. Hoping when I wake up I can exhale.

by Anonymousreply 313November 4, 2020 10:31 AM

I know someone like the woman r297 describes. She is registered as an Independent who said she thought about voting for whoever ran against Trump. But the rioting this summer, particularly in Portland, made her afraid. And so she voted for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 314November 4, 2020 10:31 AM

I hate to say it, but Fox has a pretty nice tracker. And they are giving Biden Nevada as well. BBC is mirroring MSNBC

by Anonymousreply 315November 4, 2020 10:31 AM

A lot of black men voted in Nevada. And I mean a lot because I was working the polls for 14 fucking hours.

by Anonymousreply 316November 4, 2020 10:31 AM

Why would Nevadans vote like Californians if they had fled the state to escape it?

by Anonymousreply 317November 4, 2020 10:32 AM

R317 Because they are not pieces of shit turds!

by Anonymousreply 318November 4, 2020 10:33 AM

How in hell did Lindsay and old lady Collins win? not fairly im sure. Dems gotta get dirty...

by Anonymousreply 319November 4, 2020 10:33 AM

There is a whole macho thing with black men that identify with Trump, just like white men. But I dont get it because at least the white men are voting in their self interests, the black guys are actually voting against theirs. Unless of course you are a rapper making over 400,000 a year.

by Anonymousreply 320November 4, 2020 10:33 AM

Are you dense r317? If they left because of politics, they would be in Idaho

by Anonymousreply 321November 4, 2020 10:34 AM

Already, without final tabulations, Dems look screwed. I just don't know WHY we can't seem to tabulate key Dem strongholds? This delay underlines that we don't have our shit together! Only Fux has called it for Dump. What the hell CNN and MSNBC? Why are we held up!? These two stations have been STUCK on 224/213 for frigging HOURS! Can they please get their shit together!?

CALL IT ALREADY! You know which counties lean right or left! CALL IT then FFS.

by Anonymousreply 322November 4, 2020 10:35 AM

Things are moving in Michigan too. Looks like Biden could really win that one too.

by Anonymousreply 323November 4, 2020 10:35 AM

r319, every vote made in person can be flipped. Many hundreds of thousands have been tonight. This is why Putin went hard on destroying mail-in voting. They are tabulated differently.

by Anonymousreply 324November 4, 2020 10:36 AM

Fox online hasn’t called it for dump. That morning show is not news, duh.

by Anonymousreply 325November 4, 2020 10:36 AM

the fox and friends assholes should be sent to siberia.

by Anonymousreply 326November 4, 2020 10:38 AM

Hasn't Dump alr already declared he won?

by Anonymousreply 327November 4, 2020 10:38 AM

America really is in far deeper shit than I thought possible. Fox, Twitter, and fundamentalist Christians aren’t letting go any time soon.

by Anonymousreply 328November 4, 2020 10:38 AM

r328 = Boris

by Anonymousreply 329November 4, 2020 10:39 AM

R317 Californians like me are moving to Nevada because of the cost of living is lower. Not because we lost our moral liberal compass.

by Anonymousreply 330November 4, 2020 10:39 AM

it was actually enlightening to watch Fox News last night. It was the first time I done it for longer than 1min. I got a feeling that they were not only expecting Biden to win it pretty easily but they actually wanted it to happen badly and still do.

They seem to care more about Senate races and when they called AZ for Biden they even stopped pretending and turned on Trump quickly.

I think they want Biden to use as a punching bag over the next 4 years.

by Anonymousreply 331November 4, 2020 10:40 AM

[quote]Already, without final tabulations, Dems look screwed. I just don't know WHY we can't seem to tabulate key Dem strongholds? This delay underlines that we don't have our shit together!

Cut it out. People have been talking everywhere for weeks that some results may be late.

People explained the Red Mirage.

They told you not to freak out if the votes aren't counted by early morning.

Detroit helped. Didn’t flip

by Anonymousreply 334November 4, 2020 10:42 AM

Fox News is not going to call it for Trump simply because he wanted to Declare himself the Victor because they know they would have to eat crow later on.

by Anonymousreply 335November 4, 2020 10:42 AM

California and NY should probably secede if their voices arent being heard and stop paying for shitholes like oklahoma — howvere obvs Putin wants that and he is in this for the long term, he wants to break up america

by Anonymousreply 336November 4, 2020 10:42 AM

Red mirage. Nice phrase Joe.

by Anonymousreply 337November 4, 2020 10:45 AM

Something fishy about all this, losing so many senate spots, Drump winning more than expected. Maybe they have figured a way to hack the damn machines. Something is not right...

by Anonymousreply 338November 4, 2020 10:47 AM

The Democrats didn't disassociate themselves from the extremes of BLM in the minds of many voters, r289 and they did indulge a lot in the "let's make all whites feel guilty" stuff.

by Anonymousreply 339November 4, 2020 10:47 AM

This 50/50 dead heat, too close to call bullshit is so old and so Bush/Gore.

by Anonymousreply 340November 4, 2020 10:47 AM

r338, they've been hacking the machines since 2000. Look up Bev Harris and Black Box Voting.

r339 = Boris and Boris, you're really fucking tedious.

by Anonymousreply 341November 4, 2020 10:49 AM

All right Datalounge friends and enemies, I'm headed for bed.

Please remember to ignore the doomsayers and the people who are trying too hard to get into a fight with you. Check poll numbers online before believing cable news summaries.

Stay calm and remember that we already knew before Election Day that the in-person votes would skew Trump and be counted first, and it would take longer to get the mail-in votes which skew Biden.

Don't give up hope! It actually looks very good for Biden, don't forget that.

by Anonymousreply 342November 4, 2020 10:50 AM

[quote] California and NY should probably secede

Support for California and New York secession is growing with people in the other states.

by Anonymousreply 343November 4, 2020 10:50 AM

Ok. Maybe I need to lay off coffee. I’ve been sitting here calculating the total votes available based on reported totals and the percent in.

700 = .93*X. X=700/.93

I am calm. But I quit the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.

by Anonymousreply 344November 4, 2020 10:50 AM

So is there realistically hope?

Because none of my texts from friends in Europe seem to suggest so.

by Anonymousreply 345November 4, 2020 10:50 AM

[quote] This is why Putin went hard on destroying mail-in voting. They are tabulated differently.

Oh, cut the crap. You’re as crazy as QAnon. Dems need to take responsibility and walk the fuck up. The US is an evil shithole.

by Anonymousreply 346November 4, 2020 10:50 AM

Picked

by Anonymousreply 347November 4, 2020 10:50 AM

Shup up you idiot r322.

They will call it when the votes are counted. Everyone who was paying attention knew it would take awhile, it been talked about for months.

by Anonymousreply 348November 4, 2020 10:50 AM

If Biden squeaks by he needs to find a ruthless Trump hating AG to replace Barr.

With all the Unitary Presidential powers, he needs to go after the Republican Party and the Russians.

by Anonymousreply 349November 4, 2020 10:51 AM

The Dems should investigate every damn senate seat that they shoulda won. ... but they wont. .. alwys pussys.

by Anonymousreply 350November 4, 2020 10:51 AM

I am also getting more suspicious. Could all these pollsters be so either "stupid", "wrong" or "intentionally misleading" for second time? Not just small errors but like completely off???

by Anonymousreply 351November 4, 2020 10:52 AM

We don't know the Senate result in Maine yet, R338.

Also undecided: NC (though Tillis ahead), and the two GA races (one goes to runoff)

by Anonymousreply 352November 4, 2020 10:52 AM

R345, there is realistically hope. A lot of the mail-in votes that haven't been counted are from counties that favor Democrats, at least in Pennsylvania.

by Anonymousreply 353November 4, 2020 10:52 AM

[quote] Because none of my texts from friends in Europe seem to suggest so.

Why would they have better information about the state of the race at this point?

by Anonymousreply 354November 4, 2020 10:53 AM

R345 European media are reporting in a way they're used to from their own countries, where things usually don't take days and don't change as dramatically as they might do in the US now. At least in my country I noticed that they were acting during the night like Trump has very very likely won this election only to track back later on, when they realised that the mail-in votes could change everything.

by Anonymousreply 355November 4, 2020 10:54 AM

[quote]So is there realistically hope?

For god's sake, YES.

We all knew the mail-in vote would take a while to be counted and those votes lean blue.

How has everyone forgotten this? Or are you just pretending to forget?

by Anonymousreply 356November 4, 2020 10:54 AM

Of course there is realistic hope. Biden is likely going to win.

by Anonymousreply 357November 4, 2020 10:54 AM

R351 It's suspicious. but it can also be explained away by the arrogance that comes from people who think what they're doing is a science when really their methodology is so outdated that it's understandably skewing the results.

Traditional polls just need to be done away with completely.

by Anonymousreply 358November 4, 2020 10:59 AM

It's the Russians stupid.

by Anonymousreply 359November 4, 2020 11:00 AM

[quote]We all knew the mail-in vote would take a while to be counted and those votes lean blue. How has everyone forgotten this? Or are you just pretending to forget?

This has been the story on this thread all night. Ever since Trump took lead in FL, every 5 min someone would pipe in "Trump winning, it's over."

People, there's a LOT of mail in vote and we even haven't started with the lawsuit shenanigans. It's not a normal election where you get the election called by 11 pm.

Same thing happened in the 2018 midterms. The media was all doom and gloom the morning after, and then had to eat crow when all votes were counted. We're clearly not getting the midterm outcome but nothing is over, it'll take days.

by Anonymousreply 360November 4, 2020 11:01 AM

R351 - EXACTLY. These GOP thugs cheat in plain sight (too many to list from the last few months of the Dump campaign alone); Biden's legal team needs to verify votes in battleground states - period. I fear that a ton of mail-in ballots were tossed and who knows about the in-person tallies. Remember all of those Texans who actually voted Beto but were recorded as Cruz? Not a coincidence.

by Anonymousreply 361November 4, 2020 11:01 AM

If Biden wins NV (likely), WI, and MI, he has 270 EVs, exactly. That is just way too close.

by Anonymousreply 362November 4, 2020 11:01 AM

"It's not not my fault. It's the Dems fault I vote for a bigoted, ignorant, 6 times bankrupted, pussy-grabbing, cruel, incompetent, most stupid man who ever desecrated the Oval Office, who, oh, by the way, doesn't want to count votes."

r339 is yet another example of a member of the "party of personal responsibility" not taking responsibility for their own volitional act of voting for the despicable likes of Donald Trump.

Now, this election has has forced me to finally, and it took me long enough, accept that 2 things are true- I never want to here the phrase "this is not who we are", in the context of this country having to endure another heinous remark and act by Trump.

A vote by millions of Americans, even in the face of seeing with their own eyes, and hearing with their own ears how Trump has behaved over the last 4 years proves that, yes, Trump is who this country is.

And 2, Trump knows this country better than I, in my idealistic, rose-colored glasses ever ever did. And I'm a woman of color, so saying that is saying something.

by Anonymousreply 363November 4, 2020 11:02 AM

R362 He might also win PA and even GA. It's not like most mail-in votes will be for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 364November 4, 2020 11:03 AM

[quote]Same thing happened in the 2018 midterms. The media was all doom and gloom the morning after, and then had to eat crow when all votes were counted.

I've been trying to remember the exact reason why this happened in 2018 but can't remember. I just remember the part about them all going, "Well, I guess no blue wave." and then it changed to a blue tsunami. WTF is wrong with them? They give the cheating its narrative base. Fuck them.

by Anonymousreply 365November 4, 2020 11:05 AM

R307, I'm not obsessed with college kid politics, I was saying that BLM politics and the whole "LGBTQQ2SIA+++ community" (which is damaging to gays and lesbians above all) stuff in normal times are mostly extreme campus politics that usually stays on campus and which people mostly grow out of. In the past few years, however, mainly through the use of social media, this kind of extreme campus politics has tried to turn itself into the mainstream. Democrats and the media have felt they had to pander to this kind of crap because it's so prevalent in social media, they think that's what the majority adhere to, especially the youth. In reality, however, most people - and on the left - are sick of that kind of stuff. I mean, Elizabeth Warren saying she'd have a trans kid approve her nominee for Education Secretary is just college kid stuff, right?

You need to ask yourself why the Democrats have not managed to sweep this election, despite pandemic deaths, Trump, etc. I'm not American, I don't like Trump and I would much rather Biden won, but, looking from the outside and hence perhaps with a certain degree of objectivity, the Democrats allowed that kind of politics to dictate their strategy and weren't critical enough of it and it also distracted them from developing serious alternative policies on the economy, health, America's place in the world, etc.

I look at Joe Biden's proposals and all I see is waffle and generic slogans written to appeal to people who are already committed Democrats. His proposals are especially missing a serious, credible economic policy.

No matter what happens w/ the election, one thing is crystal clear- we are in for the long haul with COVID. The majority of American people are really just that willfully stupid and obstinate, and even a new president changing the approach isn't gonna do squat.

by Anonymousreply 369November 4, 2020 11:08 AM

We were all warned that election night itself would end with a “red mirage”—the map would look like Trump and the GOP have won.

In some battleground states, over a million votes, much of them early and absentee still need to be counted. Some states don’t even allow starting the counting of early voting until the day of the election.

The good news is most of those will trend Dem.

Stop going nuts. Biden’s got this.

by Anonymousreply 370November 4, 2020 11:08 AM

Meanwhile, Trump's lead is down to 1.2 points in Michigan with a lot of vote left. May not be particularly close.

The problem with polls has always been the same: high-quality national polls vs low-quality state polls. Obviously this is a recipe for disaster when we're talking about this convoluted, undemocratic electoral system where the votes of a couple thousand people is all it takes to override a +2m lead.

#361 you damn right, Repubs cheat by every and all means available, Dems would faint if they knew the 'Dade county' tricks that the Repubs pull...

by Anonymousreply 375November 4, 2020 11:10 AM

r372, try again. The problem wasn't the polls. Just like it wasn't the polls last time. Hasn't been the polls since 2000. Scrape those brain cells together and try to figure out what the problem actually is. If the polls are right, but the tallies are different...

Well, I am definitely up for the rest of the night in California, so happy to pass the time with all the other night owls on here. I fell asleep on the couch for about an hour and a half after Trump's stupid speech and that sort of revived me. I'm watching horror movies on Shudder.

You're right; it's way too early to armchair quarterback this whole thing, but I kind of wonder if the appeal of Dump to some people is that he blows sunshine up their asses about how happy days are just around the corner in regards to COVID, rather than the grim truth that we are in for a long slog

R336 I'm pretty sure these "campus politics" are what the majority of young voters think is relevant , though. It might have frightened off some older democratic leaning voters, but on the other hand might have mobilised some of the voters that actually are in college. Getting young people to vote was always a challenge. Do we know yet if focusing more on younger voters' concerns actually resonated with them and got them to vote for Biden?

by Anonymousreply 380November 4, 2020 11:11 AM

by Anonymousreply 395November 4, 2020 11:17 AM

If Identiterian Twitterati were enough to skew the election, there would actually be voluminous push back on Twitter from people who oppose them. Rather than a couple hundred rad fems being banned from the platform for stating Only Women Have Cervixes. Clearly, there is not massive push back against that contingent and certainly not enough to sway an election. But that does sound like a convenient argument coming from a coalition who wants to move the Democratic Party to the right. In your other posts, you and your sock puppets argue that no, the Democratic party needs to move to the left, needs to get rid of all the actual Democrats and make Russian agents like Bernie Sanders and AOC the new leaders. So, your ongoing objective is really just to try to alienate people from the Big Tent party and sow chaos. Right? Has your potato turned into vodka yet?

by Anonymousreply 455November 4, 2020 11:44 AM

The Senate balance is still depending on uncounted votes. Michigan is close, and the remaining ballots tilt Democratic. Same with both GA. If Collins doesn’t break 50% - which she hasn’t - Gideon will gain ranked choice votes.

It may not be a Democratic majority, but it can improve.

by Anonymousreply 456November 4, 2020 11:45 AM

Assuming NV, AZ and WI hold, Biden only needs one of the four remaining states: Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, or North Carolina.

I'm having trouble gauging what the realistic odds are now for these states, but the NYT needle is showing a 64% chance that Biden wins GA and 86% for Trump in NC. Pennsylvania doesn't look that promising to me, even though I gather the remaining votes are expected to be heavily Democratic absentee votes. Michigan is similar (Trump lead but more votes for Biden anticipated) but much closer... I would guess that Michigan is our best bet now. And Trump only won Michigan last time by about 10,000 votes.

It’s interesting that Trump thinks that the election has to be called just hours after polls close because he knows if the ballots are counted he’s fucked.

There is no expiration or timeline that all the ballots have to be counted within hours of the polls closing

R500, I think they've given up. So they vote for the party they believe will cost them less in taxes and interfere less in their lives. It's bullshit. Republicans create hardship. But enough people have given up on the system they take the path of least resistance. It's easier, oddly, to watch a Republican burn it down than a Democrat fix it.

I'm looking at the results being called by Associated Press. According to those, it's very tight in Michigan, where Trump currently has 49.3% of the vote (2,396,175 votes) while Biden has 49.1% (2,384,163). This is with 90% of the votes having been called.

Pennsylvania seems to be going Trump's way. From the results as currently called by AP, it looks as though Trump might squeeze through.

by Anonymousreply 516November 4, 2020 12:08 PM

Just some reminders

ALL counting in WI, MI, PA, GA, NC, etc. happens under the watch of elections judges from both Republican and Democratic parties.

"97%" means 97% of precincts reporting not 97% of votes counted--usually precincts are relatively small, but many states are putting hundreds of thousands of absentee ballots into a precinct or two.

Those are absentee ballots in nation's largest jurisdictions. Likely Democratic votes from overwhelmingly Democratic areas. If you can do math like 64% of 300,000 you can get a feel for what has yet to be added to the existing reported counts in the different states still uncalled.

There are millions of votes that haven't yet been counted, tabulated, reported, or certified. Most of the states still uncalled (because of Republican-legislature rules) might yet be Biden wins--you don't know, and you have to wait.

Most of California's millions of popular votes have a long time to go before they can be reported, and Biden's popular-vote total will increase a lot.

Trump won Wisconsin in 2016 by 22,749 votes (0.77%) and Michigan by 10,704 (0.23%)--and on that basis won the Electoral College and governed as if he had a landslide mandate.

by Anonymousreply 517November 4, 2020 12:09 PM

And no, I'm not Svetlana.

I'm a staunch, partisan, big-government, tax-the-rich and spend like a drunken and sober sailor, fire-eating liberal American Democrat, and proud of it.

America always has loved its myths.

For example, the Haitians of the 1980s who risked their lives trying to leave an oppressive government (remember Papa Doc and Baby Doc Duvalier? ) were slurred as "Boat People", probably mostly by Cuban-Americans.

And yet, the Pilgrims, who instead of working to change things in whatever backwards European shire they came from, but instead, got on the Mayflower and came here, are revered by Americans, when, in fact, they were the first "Boat People".

Karl Marx, yes, I dare to refer to him, was right when he said religion is the opium of the masses. Allow me to appropriate from him to say denial is the religion of Americans.

by Anonymousreply 573November 4, 2020 12:46 PM

This is, unfortunately, not surprising.

I did not feel as confident as the polls, because of anecdotal awareness that many who were voting for Trump stated they lied to pollsters and wished to sow disinformation by stating their preference for Biden.

Secondly, someone mentioned that their opinion of the USA has fundamentally changed given that a significant portion of the population supports a man (& other men like McConnell/Graham/Gaetz) with no honour.

I agree; however, this awareness is not new, for me. Things have been brewing (corruption, racism, greed, malfeasance, shenanigans, etc.) in this country for years. However, it’s been WHITEwashed with a patina of distortion, hidden agendas, ignorance, denial, and projection. The United States has mastered the art of distraction: “Look, over there! That ______ (fill in country of choice), is doing something ungodly and heinous!” All the while, similar issues WITHIN the US were covered up, secreted away and flashed with a false Hollywood façade.

Trump just blew things up: in all respects. Showing what was - and has been - really going on. Do we think an actor with dementia was fit to lead the country? And yet Reagan was considered a great president? Unbelievable.

This is not just an issue of Trump. It is an issue of the soul of the country. It brings into focus the question of who we are as Americans.

by Anonymousreply 574November 4, 2020 12:47 PM

R572: is he high, Clairee?

by Anonymousreply 579November 4, 2020 12:49 PM

Wow, this site was infested with trolls all night, even with primetime restrictions.

Trump's lead in MI is down to about 20k. What's left to count? DETROIT. Biden has a good chance of taking it.

Biden's lead in WI is about 30k, and there's nowhere left for Trump to pick up votes.

Biden's barely leading in NV, but they aren't done counting Vegas. Trump went to the courts *yesterday* to stop their count because he's desperate and knows it.

AZ is wonky. Biden might hold it, but it's hard to predict based on what's outstanding for absentees based on party ID.

Trump's lead in NC is about 100k, so it looks like it could hold. BUT NC is still accepting mail ins for a few more days, so it all depends on how many actually come in.

Trump's lead in GA is also about 100k, but some of what's outstanding are some fairly solid Dem areas. So it could be a squeaker.

PA is simply unknowable, at least for the next couple days. Uncounted mail in ballot numbers are huge and the GOP deliberately delayed that count because they are desperate and they know it.

So bottom line, Biden can absolutely win. And it could be with a bare 270 or a more likely 290, or as high as 306/321. BUT there's enough wiggle room for Trump to pull some shit in the courts, and he has a stacked federal judiciary/SCOTUS and corrupt pieces of shit as head of USPS and DOJ.

One advantage though about it appearing the Dems are not taking over the Senate is that it kills a lot of incentive for the courts to go out on a limb for Trump. They know without the Senate, Biden can't expand the courts, add states, or reform the EC. SCOTUS will stay 6-3, about 2/3 of the federal judiciary will remain GOP-appointed, and that's all they need right now. There's real incentive to dump toxic Trump and focus on 2022.

So, anyone yelling IT'S OVER is full of shit. Just like you were full of shit when you started yelling it 12 hours ago.

And no, Borises, no one was expecting Beto to deliver TX to Biden. And no one was expecting FL or OH for Biden. Those were always in the realm of "wouldn't it be a great slap in the face to Trump?" Yes, it's disappointing that once again this election will be close, but this is America--a nation filled with just enough racists and idiots to game a fucked up election system. There are no more landslides.

For those states that still have absentee ballots to count, keep in mind how the lead flipped to Trump for those states that were allowed to review and validate their absentee votes prior to election day. Consider Franklin County (i.e., Columbus) Ohio: absentee ballots that were received prior to election day were reviewed, validated and loaded into a machine (that is not connected to the internet). Though the ballots were loaded, no tallies could be pulled from the machine prior to the close of polls. When Ohio polls closed, Biden-heavy votes were released and Biden was up over 400,000 votes. After the rural deplorable votes were counted, Trump ended up winning. It just goes to show the drastic change that can result from the absentee ballots. Democrats overwhelmingly voted absentee over Republicans. This is the reason for the optimism that remains for a Biden win.

I feel like in 2016 I could understand why people voted for Trump.

They thought he'd change once he got into office, they thought he would be more of a populist and actually follow through on things like infrastructure, they thought he'd shake things up as an outsider.... I did not agree with any of that, but I could understand how someone else might.

But in 2020.... they know who he is, how dangerous he is, how much of a despot he is.

I don't blame Trump though. He's just a useful idiot.

The real culprits are the Murdochs, for spending decades creating an alternate factual universe on Fox so that these people are essentially brainwashed. In their world, Biden is a creepy senile pedo and Harris is a Communist revolutionary who makes AOC seem like a Republican.

by Anonymousreply 593November 4, 2020 12:56 PM

Hi, R589. : )

Yeah, I was here for about 12 hours and then went to get 2-3 hours sleep.

I wanted to check what Dave Wasserman and Nate Cohn are saying, and it's looking encouraging for Biden so far based on their analyses.

I believe there is an upside to McConnell winning and the Dems not flipping the Senate

Mitch has far more upside from being the legitimate Senate majority leader in a Biden administration than from being part of an illegitimate Trump one.

R580 Trump will be challenging Wisconsin results for sure.

by Anonymousreply 596November 4, 2020 12:58 PM

Why would he challenge AZ R594?

That was all same day, is in line with Senate race.

He was pissed that his boys at Fox called AZ for Biden first

How is Kamala Harris a socialist? Trump donated to her campaign twice.

I don't know that this means.

And let's also be real--whoever wins any of these contested states, the other side is going to be challenging them.

Biden should 100% challenge too and everyone would expect him to

If polls had predicted a closer race, would that have motivated more Democratic voters to actually go vote?

by Anonymousreply 601November 4, 2020 1:00 PM

The big winner: McTurtle. Very unfornately.

I hear this for the first time now. I'm sure the Latinos haven't heard it at all. Shit like this should've been hammered into their heads by the Biden campaign.

Dems should grow up and play ruthless.

by Anonymousreply 606November 4, 2020 1:18 PM

The momentum is in Biden's favor.

by Anonymousreply 607November 4, 2020 1:18 PM

Who is this Jo Jorgenson picking off votes?

by Anonymousreply 608November 4, 2020 2:27 PM

One thing I kept hearing last night but not a word this am: “No one has ever won the presidency without Ohio.”
