Kentucky polls just closed, so we might get the first results from Moscow Mitch McConnell's race with Amy McGrath.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 3, 2020 10:14 PM |
Remember that Trump basically cannot win if Biden flips North Carolina, Georgia or Florida. All of those states counted mail-in ballots and early votes today, so the results will be quicker.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 3, 2020 10:15 PM |
Don't believe Wolf Blitzer — Indiana is NOT a "key race." It's going to Trump undoubtedly.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | November 3, 2020 10:16 PM |
I will literally faint if Amy wins. in a good way
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 3, 2020 10:17 PM |
Democrats only have 47 seats in the Senate, including the independents who caucus with them.
So Democrats need 50 seats in order to take over the Senate; 51 to override Mike Pence's tie-breaker vote if Trump wins (which is unlikely).
So Democrats need to pick up 3 to 4 seats and they're sure to lose Doug Jones' seat in Alabama. So Democrats need 4-5 seats to take over the Senate and takeover Pence-proof.
Those Senate pickups are going to come from the following states: GA, where 2 seats will probably go to runoffs for a couple of more months, SC, NC, AL, KS, ME, MS, AZ, CO, IA or MT.
That is the order their results are announced.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | November 3, 2020 10:24 PM |
Biden has many paths to victory. His Achilles heel would be PA, which Hillary lost in 2016 but usually votes Democratic. If Trump wins there, then Biden is toast. It would mean lots of other swing states won't go Biden's way.
But Trump is toast if he loses any of the following: OH, FL, NC, GA, TX, all of which are tossups.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | November 3, 2020 10:27 PM |
NC results will now be delayed 45 minutes to 8:15 per CNN.

CNN reading its exit polls now.
If Jake Tapper says, "There is no blue wave," then Biden and the Democrats are going to win everything.
He said "No blue wave" early in Election Night 2018 when there was a blue tsunami that took over the House of Representatives!

[quote] The New York Times needle now has North Carolina at 88 percent likely for Trump. If all three Southeast states they are tracking go to Trump, that would move national projections closer to 50-50. by Anonymous | reply 111 | November 4, 2020 1:42 AM |
[quote] Since it’s looking less and less like we’ll see a Democratic blowout tonight, this has consequences, even if Democrats eventually win the trifecta. For one, it makes it harder for Republicans to move on from Trump’s hold on the party, since Trump will likely wind up having overperformed expectations. A return of moderate Republicans was already unlikely, but it is becoming less and less so by the minute tonight. Second, it will make it harder for Democrats to get much done. They really need 52 or 53 seats in the Senate to have a chance at getting rid of the filibuster and moving some major legislation. That’s looking less likely right now.

A lot of Trump-supporting white blue collar males symbolically voted today right on Election Day—you know, the same ones who also wait till the last minute to shop on Christmas Eve. by Anonymous | reply 152 | November 4, 2020 3:53 AM |
CNN still "Biden" its time with AZ, even though Fox called it long ago.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | November 4, 2020 3:54 AM |
Fox is an outlier on AZ. That’s very nervous making.
by Anonymous | reply 155 | November 4, 2020 3:58 AM |

Not a surprise, but still a big disappointment.

Biden set to speak on MSNBC.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | November 4, 2020 4:22 AM |
Biden will say we won't even know all the votes for a few days so relax folks and go get some rest.
I betcha that, or some variation of that will be what he says.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | November 4, 2020 4:24 AM |
Dammit r162, I really hate that cunt Ernst.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | November 4, 2020 4:25 AM |

Steve Bullock has the lead in the MT Senate race. Yay!
by Anonymous | reply 167 | November 4, 2020 4:33 AM |
How is Cunningham doing in North Carolina? If Steve Bullock wins, and Cunningham does too, we get back the Senate.

Georgia results have Warnock ahead in the special Senate race, but Perdue (R) ahead of Ossoff.
Either way, that would mean Democrats take over the Senate with CO, AZ, GA and MT.
Plus, probably we'll get ME, because not much of the vote is even counted there.

MSNBC is sayiing 2 days before they count the biggest county that also skews Democratic.
They sent almost all the workers home..
This is so fucked up. Every state should have prepared a massive staff and machine operation to count votes tonight!
It's like they didn't know there was going to be a huge mail-in count. Even if you have a law against processing ballots before Election Day like PA, they should have been burning the midnight oil Tuesday morning with extra machines for mail-ins!
by Anonymous | reply 179 | November 4, 2020 5:12 AM |
MSNBC called MT for Trump.
by Anonymous | reply 180 | November 4, 2020 5:12 AM |
Daines (R) is also ahead by 1 percent in MT, but only by 1% with 40% left uncounted.
MUCH tinier than the 8% Trump won MT by.
by Anonymous | reply 181 | November 4, 2020 5:17 AM |
MSNBC just plotted out a way for Biden to win without PA, NC and GA: by taking the 1 independently assigned Nebraska electoral vote.
by Anonymous | reply 182 | November 4, 2020 5:20 AM |
And Joe Biden HAS picked up that 2nd Congressional District vote in NE!
CNN calling it now; hasn't happened since 2008.

Trump calling the election a fraud and "Frankly, we DID win this election."
by Anonymous | reply 196 | November 4, 2020 6:29 AM |
We all knew Trump was going to do this, it shouldn't be a surprise.
He's just proving to all of us that he is every bit the MAGGOT that we all already thought he was.
by Anonymous | reply 197 | November 4, 2020 6:36 AM |
If his newly packed Supreme Court honors Trump's wish to shut down the vote counts, I'm going to Washington and organizing sit-in protests. This is fucking outrageous.
by Anonymous | reply 198 | November 4, 2020 6:38 AM |
Trump would have to go to district courts first.
by Anonymous | reply 199 | November 4, 2020 6:38 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 207 | November 4, 2020 8:49 AM |

They're going to increase Biden's lead!

Pennsylvania is ass-backwards when it comes to voting. They should have started counting the mail-in votes a week ago.

[quote]Pennsylvania is ass-backwards when it comes to voting. They should have started counting the mail-in votes a week ago.
Pennsylvania’s Republican Legislature prevented the votes from being counted early. Pennsylvania has a Democratic Governor and a Republican Legislature. It’s split right down the middle. That’s why it’s a true swing state.
by Anonymous | reply 210 | November 4, 2020 12:42 PM |
Fuck yes! Biden has taken WI and MI — the outstanding ballots there favor him, too. So he's essentially won the presidency.
The problem is, control of the Senate is going to depend on those two Georgia runoffs, so give Ossoff and Warnock some cash!
