R12, in the United States elections are run by each of the 50 states. Some states count mail in and in-person early voting as it comes in. Some states do not begin counting until Election Day.

It all depends on the state. Florida, for instance, has been counting all along. We'll find out immediately when the polls close where we stand as we wait for the rest.

I didn't think I'd miss Chris Matthews, but I do. I wasn't like a lot of you who hate Joy Reid and was willing to give her a chance, but she sucks. She's too obnoxious. I've tried to watch her show but she's too hyper and annoying.

R12, some states (including FL) start counting early. They just don't report anything until polls close on election day. But no one reports results until the polls close in their state on election day.

Pennsylvania starts counting all the Mail-in ballots tomorrow morning. Election officials have said that it could take 3 or 4 days to count them all because there are so many. So whatever the PA results show on Tuesday night will just be in-person voting and will not include all the (largely Democratic) mail-in results. And any ballots received after November 3rd are going to be counted separately because Dump is going to challenge those in the Supreme Court.

Giving an opinion isn't "disinformation" - Joy was giving her opinion.

Opinions by TV news channel hosts need to be grounded in reality. The logical explanation is that Trump moved the party because the DC government had jurisdiction over the hotel and would enforce social distancing rules. That’s a responsible opinion to present as an explanation. Joy could also have prefaced her statement with some indication that it was wild speculation. But to simply state it as a fact is crossing the fine line I mentioned

Joy is actually a good replacement for Chris Mathews - they both hate Trump with the heat of 1000 suns. Similar in their aggressive say whatever is on their mind presentation too. I miss Chris, but think Joy's show is better than most people will admit here.

I just prefer Joy to be more professional on her own show and not so annoying and goofy. She had on Jason Johnson -who I love- and made some obnoxious joke about him not having a book. I didn't even get why she said it. It was so unnecessary.

Yes, and they also have "election silence" laws that ban political campaigning for some time before as well as on election day. Generally campaigning stops between 1 and 4 days prior to election day.
