I thought he was just a bland himbo till I saw him in "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" last year.

I forgot he was in that.

This dude and Zac were a couple??

by Anonymousreply 4October 17, 2020 7:25 PM

He's playing Elvis in the Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic. Pretty impressive for a kid who started out on [italic]Zoey 101[/italic].

They both dated Vanessa Hudgens, Zac's costar in the High School Musical films.

Any got that pic of his tent while laying in a chair with his gf?

by Anonymousreply 10October 17, 2020 7:37 PM

*Anybody

by Anonymousreply 11October 17, 2020 7:37 PM

He does nothing for me looks wise. I'm impressed he managed to make into a Hollywood career. Many Disney/Nickelodeon stars don't.

by Anonymousreply 12October 17, 2020 7:38 PM

Here you go, R10.

So if everything goes right for him if this Elvis biopic is well-received. He may be the Shia LaBeouf of Nickelodeon. Just like Ariana was the Britney of Nickelodeon.

by Anonymousreply 14October 17, 2020 7:47 PM

In between Z. Efron and A. Butler was J. Hutcherson for Vanessa.

by Anonymousreply 15October 17, 2020 8:17 PM

Vanessa has got to be the most vacuous, airheaded bimbo on earth. I saw her talk once. I thought she was joking. She wasn't. Pitifully stupid

She's borderline retarded

What does that make someone who would date her?

by Anonymousreply 17October 17, 2020 8:30 PM

Thx R13!

You're welcome, R18.

Can someone please tell me what "WHET" is? If you mean "what ever happened to," shouldn't that be "WEHT?"

by Anonymousreply 22October 17, 2020 8:53 PM

R22, it's a very old DL misspelling for WEHT that has become standard DLspeak for these "whatever happened to" threads.

He is very goofy looking to me. His body is hot but his face is awkward.

He's goofy looking as a blond, but with dark hair I find him attractive him an offbeat sort of way

by Anonymousreply 31October 17, 2020 10:03 PM

He has to capture Elvis's sexiness in this biopic. Make it believable that teen girls would be having fainting spells at the thrusting of his pelvis.

by Anonymousreply 32October 17, 2020 10:06 PM

He looks nothing like Elvis.

by Anonymousreply 33October 18, 2020 12:51 AM

Elvis was much prettier and much sexier. Can Austin do a Memphis accent? Elvis is God in the South, so if he fucks this up he will get a lot of flack.

by Anonymousreply 34October 18, 2020 12:57 AM

I never liked this kid's face. It’s not bad, just kind of douchey.

by Anonymousreply 35October 18, 2020 1:03 AM

I remember him most from Zoey 101, he was added to the show to replace the character of Chase as Zoey's love interest. I thought his character was very boring and unlikable but everyone in the show loved him despite Chase being the butt of jokes. It was basically the same dynamic as that character Randy on That 70s Show who was loved by everyone despite Eric being bullied by most of the characters.

How the fuck did Austin go from being in Nick/Disney/MTV teen fare to getting in Tarantino and Luhrmann films. Did he have to spread it?

He joined Hanson?

by Anonymousreply 38October 18, 2020 6:33 PM

That's Paul Walker at R30.

by Anonymousreply 39October 18, 2020 7:46 PM

James Franco actually looked like James Dean minus the brown eyes and dark hair (which they dyed dirty blonde and gave him blue contacts). But Angela Bassett didn't really look like Tina Turner (different shades of skin and facial features) and Denzel Washington didn't look like Malcolm X at all (again different skin tone and X had reddish hair) but their performances knocked it out of the ballpark. Same with Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash and Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles. So Butler's performance is what really matters.

Good post, R40.
